:00:11. > :00:15.Good evening. A teenager who was stabbed to death in Bristol this

:00:16. > :00:18.week has been named as Nicholas Robinson ` a 19`year`old sttdent who

:00:19. > :00:22.lived in the city. Police are appealing for witnesses and say at

:00:23. > :00:26.this stage they don't know what the motive could have been. Michelle

:00:27. > :00:28.Ruminski reports. Recently engaged, Nicholas Robinson

:00:29. > :00:38.was training as a bricklayer until his life was cut short. It hs

:00:39. > :00:43.tragic, absolutely tragic. He is a 19`year`old boy, at the start of his

:00:44. > :00:47.life, studying to make a better life for himself, and that has all been

:00:48. > :00:51.taken away. He moved to Bristol from Birmingham three years ago `nd was

:00:52. > :00:55.living here in a flat in Ron Jones House in Jamaica Street. Police say

:00:56. > :00:58.he was stabbed several times in a communal stairway just before 8 30pm

:00:59. > :01:02.on Wednesday night. It's believed he then ran outside into this dnclosed

:01:03. > :01:07.parking area in Lower Gay Street. Despite the efforts of paraledics he

:01:08. > :01:10.died of his injuries. Three people arrested in connection with his

:01:11. > :01:14.death have been released on bail. Police say they don't know the

:01:15. > :01:23.motive and need the public's help to catch his killer. I am focusing on

:01:24. > :01:31.one particular person who w`s seen running away from Ron Jones House,

:01:32. > :01:35.and that is why I want anybody with any information on who that person

:01:36. > :01:39.might be to come forward. In fact they want to hear from anyone who

:01:40. > :01:42.was in the area that night ` who might have the vital piece of

:01:43. > :01:45.information they need to put Nicholas' attacker behind b`rs.

:01:46. > :01:48.Police have released CCTV ilages of a man they're looking for after a

:01:49. > :01:52.76`year`old woman was beaten about the head in her own home. Jdan

:01:53. > :01:55.Taylor was left bloodied and severely bruised after answdring the

:01:56. > :02:00.door to her attacker ` who then forced his way inside her Totterdown

:02:01. > :02:04.home on the 28th January. Police would like to talk to the m`n seen

:02:05. > :02:08.in this image ` who was in the area at the time of the attack.

:02:09. > :02:11.Volunteers from around the country are arriving to the Somerset village

:02:12. > :02:15.of Moorland to help with thd clear`up operation. More th`n 5 0

:02:16. > :02:18.people have signed up onlind to help ` shifting sandbags, moving wood and

:02:19. > :02:21.getting rid of everything that's been ruined. Scott Ellis has spent

:02:22. > :02:26.the day in Moorland. Soggy sandbags. Weighing up to 0

:02:27. > :02:31.kilogrammes each. In Moorland alone there are 50,000 of them to get rid

:02:32. > :02:37.of. Fortunately, there's no shortage of volunteers. To haul sandbags out

:02:38. > :02:45.of back gardens and onto thd main road. There is many local pdople

:02:46. > :02:50.here, but volunteers are coling in from Leeds, London, Manchester.

:02:51. > :02:56.Because you have got to get all the sandbags onto the road? That's

:02:57. > :03:04.right. They've asked us if we can take each bag individually, piled

:03:05. > :03:08.against the road. Across Solerset there are 100,000 of them to clear

:03:09. > :03:15.away. Each village will be helped in turn. Moorland had a number of

:03:16. > :03:22.properties flooded, and we need to get it back to a normal est`te as

:03:23. > :03:25.quickly as we can. Moorland's flood victims appreciate the help they are

:03:26. > :03:31.getting, as they clear out what they could not save from the floodwater.

:03:32. > :03:37.We waded into this house three weeks ago to find a disgruntled homeowner.

:03:38. > :03:40.How was it? It is not great. Today she was back. The ground floor of

:03:41. > :03:45.her pre`flooding world stacked up on the lawn ready for disposal.

:03:46. > :03:50.Grateful for some spring sun. It is a beautiful day, the Sun is shining,

:03:51. > :03:55.loads of activity. It reminds me of just before the floods, everyone

:03:56. > :04:02.here. It is good to see, thd last few weeks have just been a ghost

:04:03. > :04:08.town. How are things now? Bdtter, getting better. And a neighbour

:04:09. > :04:12.agrees. Life's on the mend. You just want to see the back of it, and

:04:13. > :04:15.start rebuilding and start `gain. Hopefully, touch wood, it ndver

:04:16. > :04:19.happens again. Some neighbotrs joke they should hang on to their

:04:20. > :04:23.sandbags just in case. But perhaps it's best to have a good cldar out

:04:24. > :04:28.in a village that's suffered so much in the last month.

:04:29. > :04:31.While the human misery has been uppermost in people's minds, it s

:04:32. > :04:35.becoming clear that the floods are causing serious problems for

:04:36. > :04:38.wildlife too. Conservationists say the barn owl population ` which

:04:39. > :04:42.dropped by three quarters dtring the last floods ` has been badlx hit

:04:43. > :04:51.again. And they say wildlifd generally is struggling, with 2 ,000

:04:52. > :04:57.acres of land still underwater. Normally when we have floods down

:04:58. > :05:01.here, there is a patchwork puilt, a few bits of elevated land where

:05:02. > :05:04.small mammals, hibernating hnsects, will have survived, and thex can

:05:05. > :05:10.spread out and repopulate the area quite openly. We are having to move

:05:11. > :05:13.miles and miles across. It hs going to take a long time before that land

:05:14. > :05:16.supports wildlife again. Residents living near to arly bases

:05:17. > :05:19.preparing to receive thousands of soldiers from Germany are bding

:05:20. > :05:21.asked for their thoughts on proposals for the move. Garrison

:05:22. > :05:25.towns around Salisbury Plain will house around 4,000 troops and their

:05:26. > :05:28.families. The ?800 million project includes up to 1,400 new holes, and

:05:29. > :05:38.today Andrew Murrison visitdd Larkhill barracks to check on

:05:39. > :05:44.progress. Clearly it's a huge logistical challenge. I am happy to

:05:45. > :05:48.say it is going very well, but it is important that we have local people

:05:49. > :05:51.commenting on the plans and proposals, which they are able to do

:05:52. > :05:53.until the 1st of April. Some of the worlds finest j`zz

:05:54. > :05:57.musicians have arrived in Bristol for the city's second International

:05:58. > :06:00.Jazz Blues festival. The three day event got under way at the Colston

:06:01. > :06:03.Hall this evening. It features a programme of concerts, workshops and

:06:04. > :06:11.jam sessions showcasing the entire history of jazz.

:06:12. > :06:16.There's of course more news and information on your local BBC Radio

:06:17. > :06:20.Stations and online. We will be here with you throughout the weekend But

:06:21. > :06:21.for now lets get the latest weather with Jemma.

:06:22. > :06:27.for Thank you. It certainly is ` much

:06:28. > :06:31.more settled picture as we go into March, after the wet and windy days

:06:32. > :06:36.of winter. Something much more akin to a spring for the next few days.

:06:37. > :06:42.We are on for a prolonged spell of dry weather. Recent sunny spells,

:06:43. > :06:46.where we get the sunshine wd will get enough to push the tempdratures

:06:47. > :06:51.up very nicely. A mild spell ahead, continuing the theme of tod`y. It is

:06:52. > :06:56.all due to high pressure to the east of us, keeping low pressure to the

:06:57. > :07:03.West. This low pressure would encroach tonight, a bit of dampness

:07:04. > :07:07.which will linger on into the morning. But only for a little bit.

:07:08. > :07:13.It will be a little foggy when we wake up, but that will be btrnt off

:07:14. > :07:17.by the sunshine by the afternoon. A brisk but warm southerly brdeze

:07:18. > :07:19.temperatures easily touching 15 Celsius in many places by the

:07:20. > :07:25.afternoon. Clouding over tolorrow night, 20 of sunshine on Monday

:07:26. > :07:31.Clouding on Sunday afternoon into Monday and Tuesday. It is a much

:07:32. > :07:32.cloudier story. For the West Country, and much

:07:33. > :07:38.that in just a few minutes with the National forecast. London's outlook,

:07:39. > :07:42.plenty of sunshine. Hello. You have got to love the

:07:43. > :07:47.British weather. For a time this afternoon, it felt like we had

:07:48. > :07:50.skipped ahead a couple of months as temperatures reached 17 degrees

:07:51. > :07:56.across parts of southern England. That is the average for the middle

:07:57. > :07:57.of May. Across Scotland, stepping back into winter. Snow flurries
