:00:00. > :00:11.Good evening. debate between Nick Clegg and Nigel

:00:12. > :00:14.Good evening. Avon and Somerset Police have

:00:15. > :00:18.started a new campaign to educate young drivers about the dangers they

:00:19. > :00:20.face on our roads. It follows revelations that a third of all

:00:21. > :00:26.motorists killed or seriously injured here last year were under

:00:27. > :00:29.24. Our home affairs correspondent, Steve Brodie, has been to mdet one

:00:30. > :00:35.teenager who's lost three friends in car accidents.

:00:36. > :00:46.Selina is just 18 and already she's lost three close friends to traffic

:00:47. > :00:51.accidents. It is really sad and it shook the community quite a lot but

:00:52. > :00:54.with help from everybody else, you are therefore each other and you get

:00:55. > :01:00.it. She has a message for other young drivers. If someone is going

:01:01. > :01:04.too fast, I will always tell them to slow down because it is better to

:01:05. > :01:08.let them know if you feel unsafe. I would say that to anyone who ever

:01:09. > :01:14.feels that their friend is driving too fast or that they can s`y at any

:01:15. > :01:17.point, please slow down. Last year, there were 452 serious injury and

:01:18. > :01:19.fatal incidents in Avon and Somerset of which 142 involved a driver aged

:01:20. > :01:25.between 17 and 24. In Gloucestershire there were 5

:01:26. > :01:29.serious injury and fatal accidents between the same ages. In Dorset in

:01:30. > :01:34.2012 there were 393 casualthes of which 102 were in the youngdr age

:01:35. > :01:39.bracket. There were no figures available for Wiltshire. Three

:01:40. > :01:42.teengers were remarkably lucky to survive the wreckage of this car.

:01:43. > :01:46.Rowan from Bristol has just completed the smart driving

:01:47. > :01:51.initiative ` a two hour safdty course run by Avon and Somerset

:01:52. > :01:55.Police. I would definitely recommend it. There are several peopld I am

:01:56. > :02:01.going to let no to sign up. It is two hours and it is very and it will

:02:02. > :02:04.make people a lot safer. Thd course concentrates on the "Fatal Four

:02:05. > :02:07.elements in accidents ` excdssive speed, driving under the influence

:02:08. > :02:15.of drink or drugs, not wearhng a seat belt, or being distracted by

:02:16. > :02:19.such things as mobile phones. The big issues that cause collisions and

:02:20. > :02:22.cause the injuries, or sadlx, fatalities, are things such as

:02:23. > :02:28.hazard recognition. Recognising hazards on the road. Speed,

:02:29. > :02:32.inappropriate actions around speed, not judging corners properlx.

:02:33. > :02:35.Compared with the carnage in the Forest of Dean back in 2005 when 19

:02:36. > :02:38.young people died, the figures have improved, but young drivers are

:02:39. > :02:46.still being left disabled f`milies left grieving for loss of children.

:02:47. > :02:49.`` and families. A 17`year`old Bristol girl has been

:02:50. > :02:53.charged with common assault by beating, following an allegdd racist

:02:54. > :02:56.attack. The charge follows `n incident in the Poundstretcher store

:02:57. > :02:59.in Bedminster earlier in thd month, when two women were verballx and

:03:00. > :03:05.physically abused while waiting in a queue.

:03:06. > :03:07.A campaign group's been reftsed permission to appeal against a

:03:08. > :03:12.ruling allowing Bristol Rovdrs to sell its current ground to `

:03:13. > :03:15.supermarket. Only this mornhng, Trash Horfield said it would fight

:03:16. > :03:19.the decision from last week's judicial review. Bristol Rovers

:03:20. > :03:26.hopes the sale of land at the Mem will fund its new ?40 million

:03:27. > :03:28.stadium near Frenchay. Parents at one of Bath's

:03:29. > :03:31.top`performing secondary schools have been meeting tonight to discuss

:03:32. > :03:36.concerns about the way it's being run. Government officials wdre

:03:37. > :03:38.called in to investigate Oldfield School following a number of

:03:39. > :03:43.complaints about its leadership Families with children at

:03:44. > :03:50.`` the new chair of governors has faced a barrage of questions from

:03:51. > :03:53.worried and angry parents. Results of a new Ofsted inspection will be

:03:54. > :03:56.revealed in coming weeks. A Dorset soldier, killed in the

:03:57. > :04:00.First World War 100 years ago, is finally to be laid to rest. The body

:04:01. > :04:04.of Lance Corporal William W`rr was one of 15 unearthed during building

:04:05. > :04:08.work close to the French village of Beaucamps`Ligny in 2009. Now he s

:04:09. > :04:16.finally been identified, and DNA has helped trace a relative in Somerset.

:04:17. > :04:19.Clinton Rogers reports. At their home in Yeovil, Al`n and

:04:20. > :04:24.Jane Warr are still trying to digest the news. William Warr, who served

:04:25. > :04:31.with the York and Lancaster Regiment, was Alan's uncle. All

:04:32. > :04:35.anyone knew was that he was lost in action 100 years ago. But this is a

:04:36. > :04:37.story which mirrors a simil`r recent discovery in France, when

:04:38. > :04:44.excavations unearthed the bodies of World War I soldiers. This was in

:04:45. > :04:50.the French town of Fromelles. They used DNA here to identify the

:04:51. > :04:53.remains and trace relatives. It was only three miles from here, in

:04:54. > :04:57.Beaucamps`Ligny, that the ndw discovery was made ` 15 skeletons.

:04:58. > :05:03.Ten have now been identified, including William Warr. Buttons on

:05:04. > :05:07.the soldiers tunics narrowed down their regiment, and their possible

:05:08. > :05:19.identity. DNA samples taken from known relatives did the rest.

:05:20. > :05:25.Unbelievable. It is just a shop really. Did you know about xour

:05:26. > :05:34.uncle and how he died? I kndw through my mum that he went missing

:05:35. > :05:38.during the war, but I didn't know... I didn't expect him to be

:05:39. > :05:41.found. Now the ten that havd been identified will be buried whth full

:05:42. > :05:48.military honours in France later this year. That is what thex are

:05:49. > :05:52.happy about, that he will bd in the right place. Although Willi`m Warr

:05:53. > :05:59.served with the York and Lancaster regiment. His family home w`s the

:06:00. > :06:08.Dorset village of Broadwindsor, and in the village church, his name

:06:09. > :06:13.appears on a memorial plaqud. And there it is, one of 24 men of the

:06:14. > :06:17.village to die during World War I. Until now, this has been his only

:06:18. > :06:24.permanent memorial. Now he will get his own grave, his own headstone,

:06:25. > :06:27.100 years after he died. And you can read more about how DNA

:06:28. > :06:32.is helping identify other soldiers on the BBC's website. We're back

:06:33. > :06:35.with our next update on Bre`kfast from six, here on BBC One, but for

:06:36. > :06:41.now here's Ian with tonight's weather.

:06:42. > :06:49.Tomorrow will be similar to today. Yes, bright weather about and

:06:50. > :06:53.showers, more particularly show during the course of the afternoon.

:06:54. > :06:58.It will be quite chilly tonhght with temperatures getting down to

:06:59. > :07:02.freezing. A few showers arotnd. Some have a wintry flavour of higher

:07:03. > :07:08.ground. Tomorrow morning, m`ny areas will be dry but still some showers

:07:09. > :07:14.lurking, particularly to midday Some of them becoming more widely

:07:15. > :07:19.distributed and heavier. It is worth stressing that the sunnier hntervals

:07:20. > :07:22.will continue for some of us. There are mixed fortunes. A moder`te

:07:23. > :07:26.breeze and temperatures oncd again quite cool, 89 Celsius. As we look

:07:27. > :07:29.towards the tail end of the week, the key thing will be the

:07:30. > :07:31.temperatures climbing up as we head through the weekend. There hs hope

:07:32. > :07:32.through the weekend. There is hope on the

:07:33. > :07:35.blowing. On the outlook, it is warming up towards the weekend.

:07:36. > :07:44.Here's Nick Miller with more. Some of the many faces of spring

:07:45. > :07:47.weather showed themselves today Sun in Scotland, snow in the showers

:07:48. > :07:53.that moved in across England. Hail as well. Adrian took this picture

:07:54. > :07:57.from Essex and the chilly feel stays with us for the rest of the week

:07:58. > :08:01.along with further showers. If you don't like this, wait for this!

:08:02. > :08:06.Temperatures heading up at the weekend. To achieve that, we need to

:08:07. > :08:10.change the weather pattern which is tailored towards a cold wind coming

:08:11. > :08:11.in from the North Sea and low pressure giving us
