:00:00. > :00:11.Good evening. A man has drowned in the River Avon in Bath. He fell in

:00:12. > :00:14.late last night and members of the public raised the alarm. It is the

:00:15. > :00:17.latest in a number of drownhngs along this stretch of river, as

:00:18. > :00:21.Catherine Powell reports. The police searched the water just before ten

:00:22. > :00:29.o'clock last night, in what they said were extremely difficult

:00:30. > :00:33.conditions. This area is very dark at night. The river, although it

:00:34. > :00:39.looks still at the moment, hn the middle of the night, it is tnknown

:00:40. > :00:42.to rain, it is very dangerots, and the officers have gone into the

:00:43. > :00:47.water in order to recover the person from the water, using the btoyancy

:00:48. > :00:50.aids, and managed to get thd person to the side, but it is a very

:00:51. > :00:54.treacherous place after dark. The man was in his early 40s ` police

:00:55. > :00:57.haven't released his name, they are still trying to reach his f`mily and

:00:58. > :01:01.tell them what has happened. The police now say they want to hear

:01:02. > :01:09.from anyone who was near thd stretch of river last night ` to trx to find

:01:10. > :01:13.out how the man lost his life. Only a couple of months ago, a young

:01:14. > :01:18.student lost his life in thd river in almost the same spot. A lot of

:01:19. > :01:22.people we have spoken to today have said there is only so much that can

:01:23. > :01:26.be done. The railings have been put up, but somebody has alreadx come

:01:27. > :01:32.along and cut some of the whres out. So, it is really quite diffhcult, I

:01:33. > :01:36.am not sure quite what we c`n do. It makes you wonder why there `re so

:01:37. > :01:41.many incidents in Bath, bec`use the River Avon flows through so many

:01:42. > :01:46.towns. Something has got to be done. The police say they now want to hear

:01:47. > :01:49.from anyone who was near thd stretch of river last night to try to find

:01:50. > :01:53.out how the man lost his life. A human bone has been discovered in

:01:54. > :01:56.a field close to where the body of murdered Swindon woman Beckx Godden

:01:57. > :01:59.was found. Her remains were uncovered in a shallow gravd at a

:02:00. > :02:03.farm in Gloucestershire in 2011 by officers investigating the death of

:02:04. > :02:06.another woman. Wiltshire Police have been reviewing the case, and made

:02:07. > :02:11.the discovery during a fresh search of the site.

:02:12. > :02:15.The former Mayor of Cheltenham who has apologised for comments she made

:02:16. > :02:18.about rape as part of a deb`te about housing has announced she whll step

:02:19. > :02:21.back from public life. Consdrvative councillor Barbara Driver s`id she

:02:22. > :02:25.was sorry for the damage her comment had caused, and would no longer seek

:02:26. > :02:28.nomination as a candidate for the May elections. To rugby's

:02:29. > :02:31.Premiership ` a penalty try earned Bath a fiery victory over bhtter

:02:32. > :02:36.rivals Gloucester, who ended the game with only 11 men.

:02:37. > :02:39.Gloucester were leading 17`01 with less than ten minutes to go

:02:40. > :02:44.following this Henry Trinder try ` but then they lost their discipline

:02:45. > :02:48.and had two men sent to the sin bin and a third sent off for fighting.

:02:49. > :03:00.Bath sneaked home in the last minute, 18`17.

:03:01. > :03:04.Probably the last 25 minutes became a farce, really. Some of thd stuff

:03:05. > :03:10.which went on before contributed to that. There was a total lack of

:03:11. > :03:14.consistency in the interpretation. Delighted with the result. Ht keeps

:03:15. > :03:17.us exactly where we want to be, in control of what we are doing. In the

:03:18. > :03:21.Championship, Bristol are in the closing minutes of their gale away

:03:22. > :03:24.at Moseley. Bristol came out on the attack, with two tries in the first

:03:25. > :03:29.eight minutes. This the first, from Andy Short. And there was no let up

:03:30. > :03:33.for Moseley. To football ` Xeovil earned a valuable point in their

:03:34. > :03:36.fight to avoid the drop, dr`wing 1`1 with Bournemouth at Huish P`rk.

:03:37. > :03:39.Swindon could yet sneak into the final play off place in League One

:03:40. > :03:43.after they beat second` placed Brentford. Success also for Bristol

:03:44. > :03:47.City, away at Walsall, with Sam Baldock scoring the winner from the

:03:48. > :03:50.penalty spot. A late goal from Danny Woodards wasn't enough to prevent

:03:51. > :03:53.Bristol Rovers from losing their crunch game with bottom club Torquay

:03:54. > :03:56.in League Two. The threat of relegation out of the Footb`ll

:03:57. > :03:59.League looms ever larger for Darrell Clarke's men, who are just ` point

:04:00. > :04:01.outside the relegation zone. And Cheltenham drew 1`1 at Exetdr and

:04:02. > :04:16.sit 15th in the table. Let's have a look at the we`ther,

:04:17. > :04:21.with Emily Wood. We do have some more sunshine to come tomorrow. This

:04:22. > :04:26.evening will be rather cloudy, with some light rain and to resolve.

:04:27. > :04:30.Becoming drier later in the night. Temperatures dropping down to 4`5

:04:31. > :04:36.degrees overnight. A little bit of missed at the start of the day

:04:37. > :04:41.tomorrow. Variable cloud through the day tomorrow, but it should remain

:04:42. > :04:45.dry, with sunshine continuing into the afternoon. It should fedl warmer

:04:46. > :04:49.tomorrow as well. The fine weather is set to continue into the start of

:04:50. > :04:54.next week, with warm sunshine developing on Monday. Still cool

:04:55. > :04:55.into Tuesday, but some more warm sunshine again on Tuesday and

:04:56. > :05:07.Wednesday. We start with a look at the latest

:05:08. > :05:11.satellite sequence, because it shows what has been going on over the last

:05:12. > :05:15.few hours. This band of cloud has been slipping south across England

:05:16. > :05:19.and Wales. A bit of patchy rain to come from that, but nothing of

:05:20. > :05:23.significance. Quite the story across the north of Scotland . And some

:05:24. > :05:28.fairly frequent showers to the north and west of Scotland. That is it by

:05:29. > :05:34.dawn. Most places will see clear spells and it wouldn't turn -- it

:05:35. > :05:40.will turn cold, particularly in raw areas. In the morning, one or two

:05:41. > :05:44.showers along the northern coast of Ireland. But the south and east are

:05:45. > :05:49.doing well in the morning. Bright and breezy across the north of

:05:50. > :05:52.England. A decent start to the day. Further south, plenty more

:05:53. > :05:58.sunshine, although around some of the hills, there might be missed and

:05:59. > :06:01.low cloud. For many places, it is a decent day. It would be quite chilly

:06:02. > :06:04.for the start of the London Marathon, but warm as you go into

:06:05. > :06:10.the afternoon. It looks like a very decent day for it more with strong

:06:11. > :06:11.spring sunshine throughout the race. The southern half
