:00:00. > :00:00.Welcome to BBC Points West with Alex Lovell and David Garmston.

:00:07. > :00:11.The care home manager who stole from the residents.

:00:12. > :00:15.Rachel Stokes is jailed for taking money

:00:16. > :00:26.If she was that low, she should have one of sick and done the right

:00:27. > :00:30.thing. Or even not bothered going to work. If you cannot do the job

:00:31. > :00:31.properly, she should not have been there.

:00:32. > :00:34.The judge said it was a shocking breach of trtst `

:00:35. > :00:45.The troublemaker who stirred up anger

:00:46. > :00:49.by falsely claiming that a pub had banned British soldiers.

:00:50. > :00:52.The patients who have to waht years for a kidney `

:00:53. > :00:55.now there's a call for people from all races and backgrounds

:00:56. > :01:01.And performing a jig of joy ` how this brother and sister frol Bristol

:01:02. > :01:10.have become world champions in Irish dancing.

:01:11. > :01:14.A Gloucestershire care home manager who stole hundreds of pounds

:01:15. > :01:17.from residents to fund a galbling habit has been jailed today.

:01:18. > :01:21.look after people with learning difficulties.

:01:22. > :01:24.But she was secretly taking their money `

:01:25. > :01:26.and using it to pay for her addiction.

:01:27. > :01:30.and today the judge said her actions were

:01:31. > :01:37.Our Gloucestershire reporter, Steve Knibbs, was in court.

:01:38. > :01:40.Rachel Stokes ran a care hole where the residents

:01:41. > :01:44.had serious learning disabilities ` many couldn't even communic`te.

:01:45. > :01:47.As someone they should have been able to trust, Stokes had access to

:01:48. > :01:50.their cashcards and pin numbers and would take money out for them.

:01:51. > :01:54.But it turns out she was taking some of it for herself `

:01:55. > :01:56.to fund her gambling habit. Today, the sister

:01:57. > :02:01.of one of her victims told le how the crimes had affected thel all.

:02:02. > :02:11.I don't think there are any words to describe what she has done. Just

:02:12. > :02:16.absolutely disgusted and appalled. The staff, who are left holding the

:02:17. > :02:21.baby as it were, they were disgusted as well. It has gone on unddr the

:02:22. > :02:22.nose. Last year, an audit spotted

:02:23. > :02:25.a discrepancy between the rdsidents' bank accounts and the log the home

:02:26. > :02:29.kept of money taken out for them. Rachel Stokes was arrested

:02:30. > :02:31.and came clean, telling police she would

:02:32. > :02:33.draw out ?100 to ?200 every two to four weeks

:02:34. > :02:36.and use the money but the prosecution said

:02:37. > :02:42.that was just a minimum amotnt. ?11,000 she'd been given

:02:43. > :02:47.for a PPI claim. The judge said her crimes wdre

:02:48. > :02:50.a serious breach of trust, particularly because of the

:02:51. > :03:04.vulnerability of the three victims. The phrase "serious breach of trust,

:03:05. > :03:08.echoed throughout this court, not only from the judgement frol the

:03:09. > :03:16.prosecution and defence as well She was finding it too difficult to come

:03:17. > :03:21.to terms with what she had done That she would steal from pdople she

:03:22. > :03:23.was met be looking after. `` she was meant to be looking after.

:03:24. > :03:26.Before she admitted her guilt in court last month,

:03:27. > :03:29.Stokes took to Facebook and said, "I have done some terrible things

:03:30. > :03:31."which are unforgivable and I am truly sorry

:03:32. > :03:35."to all the people I have htrt. I love all my family, take care "

:03:36. > :03:39.We've been told the manager of the company running the care hole was

:03:40. > :03:42.told about Rachel stealing from clients in March of last ye`r,

:03:43. > :03:43.several months before she was arrested.

:03:44. > :03:47.But, despite attempts to contact them today, we've not had a reply.

:03:48. > :03:49.Tonight, Rachel Stokes starts an eight month prison sentence `

:03:50. > :03:52.she'll serve four months before being released on licence.

:03:53. > :03:55.Hundreds of people are expected to turn out for a walk

:03:56. > :03:57.in memory of Hollie Gazzard this weekend.

:03:58. > :04:01.while working at a Gloucestdr hair salon in February.

:04:02. > :04:03.On Sunday, her family will walk from

:04:04. > :04:06.the King Teddy Pub in Longldvens, where she used to work,

:04:07. > :04:12.through Churchdown ` where the family live ` to Cheltenham

:04:13. > :04:22.I dare say that walking... Ht will be a two or three hour walk. It will

:04:23. > :04:26.be a little long for some pdople. It will be a good conversation,

:04:27. > :04:28.remembering the bright young lady that she was.

:04:29. > :04:31.22`year`old Thomas Maslin from Benhall Gardens in Cheltenham

:04:32. > :04:32.has been charged with Hollie's murder.

:04:33. > :04:36.A warning has been issued to parents after a bogus social worker

:04:37. > :04:39.was allowed into a house in Gloucester to check on a baby.

:04:40. > :04:42.The woman had fake ID and claimed to be from social sdrvices

:04:43. > :04:45.before going into the home in Deerhurst Place in Quedgdley

:04:46. > :04:48.Whilst in there she checked the heartbeat of the four`month`old

:04:49. > :04:50.Police are investigating and social services have urged

:04:51. > :04:55.all parents to check identification before letting anyone in.

:04:56. > :04:58.A Bristol woman who has been waiting for a kidney

:04:59. > :05:02.Asian and Afro`Caribbean people to donate organs.

:05:03. > :05:06.New figures, from Bristol`b`sed NHS Blood And Transplant, show

:05:07. > :05:09.a staggering shortage in thd numbers willing to give up a kidney.

:05:10. > :05:11.Our Health Correspondent, Matthew Hill,

:05:12. > :05:18.has been to meet two young women who've been affected.

:05:19. > :05:21.These two young women have got to know each other very well.

:05:22. > :05:24.That's because they have both been on dialysis together

:05:25. > :05:27.Aneesha has just been given a kidney,

:05:28. > :05:33.So, three times a week, she comes to Southmead Hosphtal

:05:34. > :05:42.And, after 11 years waiting, time is running out.

:05:43. > :05:50.I am running out of places to have dialysis from now. I have h`d so

:05:51. > :05:54.meek obligations for waiting for so long. I don't know how long this

:05:55. > :05:56.will keep me alive for. Aneesha's father donated ond of

:05:57. > :06:06.his kidneys to her a year ago. It has changed my life completely.

:06:07. > :06:13.Amazing. I cannot believe it has happened. You cannot think of how

:06:14. > :06:16.happy we are, seeing her live her life.

:06:17. > :06:19.The latest figures show that 30% of patients

:06:20. > :06:21.waiting for an organ tranplant in Bristol

:06:22. > :06:23.are black or from an ethnic minority.

:06:24. > :06:28.But only 2% of kidney donathons to strangers come from this group.

:06:29. > :06:31.That's why the Lord Mayor is trying to sign up as manx people

:06:32. > :06:38.from this community as he c`n to donate their organs.

:06:39. > :06:53.There are some myths. Some people think there are religious b`rriers.

:06:54. > :06:56.Some people say that the wax God sent us into this world is the way

:06:57. > :07:00.we should leave. But that is not true. The Abra Hammock Baig says to

:07:01. > :07:02.save someone's life. The average wait for

:07:03. > :07:15.a kidney transplant is thred years. Just a three month on from the Lord

:07:16. > :07:20.Mayor's appeal starting, thdre promising signs.

:07:21. > :07:26.On one day alone, 40 worshippers at this mosque signed up for this

:07:27. > :07:28.donation scheme and so far lore than 200 new names are down on this bit

:07:29. > :07:28.of paper. The average wait for

:07:29. > :07:31.a kidney transplant is thred years. So, for people like Maureen,

:07:32. > :07:34.who have already been on thd list for more than a decade,

:07:35. > :07:55.the odds are very much against them. Well, it's been a mixed day,

:07:56. > :07:57.weather`wise ` and Ian will be here with the full

:07:58. > :08:00.weekend forecast shortly. In the blue corner ` the unlikely

:08:01. > :08:04.source helping Bristol Rovers as they prepare for

:08:05. > :08:06.the fight of their liv.s as they prepare for

:08:07. > :08:10.the fight of their lives. A Yeovil man whose lies forced

:08:11. > :08:14.a pub to shut has been spardd jail. Joshua Bonehill`Pain `

:08:15. > :08:17.who claims to be a rising star of the right wing ` made up an internet

:08:18. > :08:21.hoax about the Globe in Leicester. He said it had banned

:08:22. > :08:23.British armed forces. The story wasn't true,

:08:24. > :08:25.but it quickly spread and soon staff there

:08:26. > :08:27.were being threatened. Hired security

:08:28. > :08:30.for extra protection. In August last year,

:08:31. > :08:35.staff at this pub in Leicester began to be abused, even

:08:36. > :08:38.given death threats over thd phone. At first, they were confused,

:08:39. > :08:41.but then found they were the victims of an internet hoax `

:08:42. > :08:45.a story on this website, called the Daily Bale, clailed

:08:46. > :08:50.the Globe pub had barred melbers of the British armed forces for fear

:08:51. > :08:55.of offending the Islamic colmunity. It was all lies ` made up

:08:56. > :09:05.by this man, Joshua Bonehill`Pain. Describing himself as a "rising

:09:06. > :09:08.star of the British Far`Right," he arrived at court today

:09:09. > :09:23.in a Union Flag style tie. He pled guilty to making thd hoax.

:09:24. > :09:26.The pub had to high securitx staff, it had to send Saab home for its own

:09:27. > :09:29.safety and then had to temporarily closed. Some of the vocals they were

:09:30. > :09:32.getting by threatening to fhrebomb the pub and threatening Sue sent

:09:33. > :09:34.round groups of people to bdat up the staff.

:09:35. > :09:37.The backlash meant lost customers, lost money and a damaged reputation.

:09:38. > :09:49.the manager said there was genuine fear staff could be targeted.

:09:50. > :09:53.We are getting our staff hole in taxis and generally keeping

:09:54. > :09:57.customers aware of what is going on as well through notices on the

:09:58. > :10:00.Windows and in the pub, informing them that it is nonsense.

:10:01. > :10:03.In court today, Bonehill`Pahn ` now 21 years old `

:10:04. > :10:16.any similar opffences in th`t time could see him put behind bars.

:10:17. > :10:20.The Government wants Bristol to lead the way in tackling climate change.

:10:21. > :10:23.The Chief Secretary to the Treasury came here to announce

:10:24. > :10:26.a grant of ?7 million to support the city

:10:27. > :10:33.Here's our political editor, Paul Barltrop.

:10:34. > :10:36.Getting off to a slow start, but picking up speed.

:10:37. > :10:41.and Bristol's mayor riding electric bikes,

:10:42. > :10:43.but the Green Capital project they're backing.

:10:44. > :10:45.The city's already well`known for cycling.

:10:46. > :10:51.Now other initiatives will be boosted.

:10:52. > :10:56.Thank you very much. It is brilliant you have come to Bristol and

:10:57. > :10:57.brilliant you have brought the money with you!

:10:58. > :11:00.Big names from the city gathered to hear

:11:01. > :11:01.that the Government's giving ?7 million.

:11:02. > :11:06.The venue ` an eco`friendly office ` is one way Bristol leads thd way.

:11:07. > :11:13.I passionately believe that as a country we have to lead the world in

:11:14. > :11:17.Green energy, in tackling climate change, in adapting to live our

:11:18. > :11:23.lives more sustainably. That is what the Green Capital is about. It is to

:11:24. > :11:29.spread understanding. Going Green does not save the Earth it `` does

:11:30. > :11:30.not cost the earth, it will save the Earth.

:11:31. > :11:32.In the pipeline ` everything from festivals and schools progr`mmes

:11:33. > :11:34.to a Bristol Prize for eco`friendly technology.

:11:35. > :11:36.Since Bristol won the award last year,

:11:37. > :11:38.there've been plenty of photo opportunities.

:11:39. > :11:40.But the enthusiasm of the city's leading lights

:11:41. > :11:55.I don't know. I have never heard of it. What is the Green Capit`l? Is it

:11:56. > :11:56.to do with money? I don't think we yet deserve it but we will deserve

:11:57. > :11:58.it by the end of 2015. The mayor knows he must now

:11:59. > :12:07.turn fine words into deeds Absolutely. And there will be

:12:08. > :12:14.elephant traps along the wax. I will have things thrown at me, s`ying why

:12:15. > :12:17.are you doing this? I am absolutely up for that, I am up for those

:12:18. > :12:20.discussions but what we must do is make sure that Bristol becoles an

:12:21. > :12:26.exemplar city where other pdople want to follow.

:12:27. > :12:30.It is early days was the politicians are on board and they are coming up

:12:31. > :12:36.with the cash. Next comes the considerable challenge of convincing

:12:37. > :12:38.ordinary people to get involved in the Green Capital project.

:12:39. > :12:42.Well, our political editor, Paul Barltrop, is here now.

:12:43. > :12:47.Paul, you mentioned the ordinary people `

:12:48. > :12:50.So what difference will being Green Capital make?

:12:51. > :12:57.It does sound a bit wordy. There is a hope that the prime and stability

:12:58. > :13:03.and a conference. There is `n education programme in school but

:13:04. > :13:09.not what the common people will get to enjoy. The organisers sax they

:13:10. > :13:13.will be some popular events. There is an emphasis on things th`t are

:13:14. > :13:17.free and fun. There is one thing happening in Bristol next wdek, we

:13:18. > :13:23.have some special events gohng on. They will be closing Park Street.

:13:24. > :13:29.They will hopefully have a water slide running down it. Is that what

:13:30. > :13:34.the ?7 million will be spent on They are talking to the Bushness

:13:35. > :13:39.Committee. They have done a bit of research and they reckoned ht could

:13:40. > :13:43.be worth ?200 million, all of the investment that will come in with

:13:44. > :13:47.the European Green Capital xear As to what events will be going on

:13:48. > :13:51.wait for the autumn when thd announcement will come. Thank you.

:13:52. > :13:53.The West has a rich musical history `

:13:54. > :13:56.and today ten young artists are hoping to make their

:13:57. > :14:00.mark on it. They've signed tp to a new record label in the chty

:14:01. > :14:04.But in these days of social media and Mp3 plaxers

:14:05. > :14:08.anyone and everyone seems to release their own music onlhne.

:14:09. > :14:37.This is the sound of Tease Productions. 90s sound but very much

:14:38. > :14:42.modern. He is only 15. It w`s a good moment. I saw a future building

:14:43. > :14:48.here. Independently, there `re here. Independently, there `re

:14:49. > :14:52.budgets and things like that. With the label behind it, supporting it

:14:53. > :15:04.is easy to get what needs to be done. While Tease is mixing

:15:05. > :15:12.melodies, Josh is developing a live folk like sound. To be offered some

:15:13. > :15:18.thing like this so early on is a great start for me. Hardly because I

:15:19. > :15:29.don't want to jump into havhng a manager and publicist. I want to

:15:30. > :15:35.enjoy as much time as I can to enjoy being creative. Ten artists have

:15:36. > :15:42.been signed up across different musical genres, each will h`ve a

:15:43. > :15:46.release in the next year, whth the label supporting them and ddveloping

:15:47. > :15:53.their music and their profile. I like to call it a kick`start a

:15:54. > :16:01.label. It is mainly for building them up as an artist. It is all

:16:02. > :16:02.about exposure and the experience. At least ten young artists `re

:16:03. > :16:05.hoping for both. A gilded bronze statue with

:16:06. > :16:08.a reserve price of around ?150 has sold at

:16:09. > :16:10.auction in Gloucestershire for. . The figure of the Hindu God

:16:11. > :16:18.Lord Shiva went under the h`mmer at British Bespoke Auctions

:16:19. > :16:20.in Winchcombe. The final sum was much highdr than

:16:21. > :16:23.predicted after the listing was posted on the internet

:16:24. > :16:29.and seen by collectors worldwide. Bristol Rovers are facing

:16:30. > :16:31.the most important match Will, they're hanging on,

:16:32. > :16:46.aren't they? But only just. Yes, there are two games left in the

:16:47. > :16:49.season with the bottom two hn the table dropping out of the ldague

:16:50. > :16:53.altogether. Bristol Rovers `re currently sitting third frol bottom,

:16:54. > :16:56.just above that drop zone, `nd they are on the same point as thd team

:16:57. > :16:58.below them. It is as tight `s it could be.

:16:59. > :17:01.No`one wants to think of what might happen if Rovdrs go

:17:02. > :17:04.down, especially former Rovdrs and England defender Gary M`bbutt.

:17:05. > :17:13.I haven't even thought about it I cannot imagine the story was being

:17:14. > :17:19.out of the league. It has bden a very tough year but with two games

:17:20. > :17:20.to go, the players know what is at stake. They know what they have to

:17:21. > :17:23.do and I'm sure they will do it There's so much attention

:17:24. > :17:35.on the club at the moment. Yes, I think it must be the buddied

:17:36. > :17:41.is whether it helps hold thdm back. Luck plays a part. Whoever hs

:17:42. > :17:58.focused and motivated, they will come through. I have been speaking

:17:59. > :18:01.to Glenn Catley. Going Catley won British and world

:18:02. > :18:07.boxing titles and now he helps others succeed. And confidence is

:18:08. > :18:13.key. I went into all of my fights confident, even though I was written

:18:14. > :18:17.for most of them. That didn't matter because in my heart and mind, I knew

:18:18. > :18:20.it was a done deal, I was going to win that fight before I walked into

:18:21. > :18:24.the ring. You have to cope with everything that comes with ht and

:18:25. > :18:35.try and perform on the day. Do you think you we will avoid reldgation?

:18:36. > :18:45.Yes. They are facing the te`m won `` one place above them in the league.

:18:46. > :18:48.There is a mix of players, some of whom will not be affected at all,

:18:49. > :18:53.some will be more affected than others and it is how you manage

:18:54. > :18:58.that. There have been some nerves in the camp, on both sides. It is a big

:18:59. > :19:03.game. There is a chance for people to be heroes and to be relidved and

:19:04. > :19:08.happy at the end. That is what makes a difference between a win `nd a

:19:09. > :19:15.loser, those who perform under pressure and those who can't.

:19:16. > :19:21.Mindset is everything. When our stress goes up, we lose a ldg or

:19:22. > :19:24.signals in our brain. The subconscious, which is the primitive

:19:25. > :19:31.part of the brain takes over. That is a bad road because behavhng that

:19:32. > :19:35.way, you won't make the right decision and the results can be

:19:36. > :19:38.disastrous. Disaster is the main thing Rovers want to avoid. But

:19:39. > :19:44.anything less than a win tolorrow could leave them in big trotble

:19:45. > :19:46.I am trying not to engage mx subconscious mind right now.

:19:47. > :19:49.Well, Yeovil's fate in the Championship could bd sealed

:19:50. > :19:53.anything but a win will see their relegation confirmed.

:19:54. > :19:55.Tomorrow, Swindon travel to Notts County

:19:56. > :20:00.They need to win and hope Peterborough slip up to takd it

:20:01. > :20:04.Bristol City and Cheltenham are both sitting comfortably in mid`table.

:20:05. > :20:08.for the semi`final of the European Challenge Ctp.

:20:09. > :20:11.The two sides have met twicd in the Premiership this season,

:20:12. > :20:14.with Bath coming out top on both occasions.

:20:15. > :20:17.Bath won this competition in 2008 and that was the last time

:20:18. > :20:33.Last time offer in the semifinal was six years ago. Seven years `go. With

:20:34. > :20:39.it being a rare occasion, wd want to make the most of it. We don't want

:20:40. > :20:42.to look back on Monday mornhng with a chance gone. And when to do

:20:43. > :20:44.everything in our power to the able to progress to a final. Frol that

:20:45. > :20:46.point of view, it is huge. And Bristol, already guaranteed top

:20:47. > :20:49.spot in the Championship, play their final game of the regular sdason
