:00:00. > 3:59:59There is more throughout the evening on the BBC News Channel. We are back

:00:00. > :00:14.Good Evening. The parents of a with the latest

:00:15. > :00:17.Good Evening. The parents of a severely disabled man from Wiltshire

:00:18. > :00:21.say they're shocked after bding told he'll no longer be entitled to free

:00:22. > :00:24.physiotherapy. John Morrision has quadriplegic cerebral palsy and

:00:25. > :00:30.needs regular treatment to keep his muscles working. His parents have

:00:31. > :00:33.been offered training to carry out the physio themselves, but don't

:00:34. > :00:40.feel confident about doing ht properly. Steve Knibbs reports.

:00:41. > :00:43.John Morrison can't use his arms or legs so needs a great deal of help.

:00:44. > :00:48.Without specialist neuro`rehabilitation physiotherapy

:00:49. > :00:52.he'd deteriorate rapidly. Hd has the treatment twice a week and was paid

:00:53. > :00:56.for by the NHS when he was ` student. But now that John has moved

:00:57. > :01:00.back home to Wiltshire, it's costing his parents over ?500 a month. It

:01:01. > :01:07.feels like you're being means tested almost. In a way the nature of the

:01:08. > :01:14.letter was if you don't likd what we are offering, go pay for it

:01:15. > :01:17.yourself. The Wiltshire Clinical Commissioning Group won't p`y for

:01:18. > :01:20.the treatment long term, instead they've offered to train his parents

:01:21. > :01:25.to give him the physiothearpy at home. We are told by the doctors and

:01:26. > :01:29.his physiotherapist in Wales not to stand John on our own because if we

:01:30. > :01:38.hurt him, we could break his hip, we could snap his thigh bone, we could

:01:39. > :01:42.do all sorts of damage. The funding problem isn't specific to Whltshire.

:01:43. > :01:47.John is also facing a bill for thousands of pounds of treatment he

:01:48. > :01:50.received while living in Wales. It's an issue the health secretary said

:01:51. > :01:55.recently, needs to be looked at It is also a false economy not to

:01:56. > :01:59.invest in out of hospital c`re. If we do not help to keep people

:02:00. > :02:03.healthy and happy while thex are at home, they will end up in hospital

:02:04. > :02:06.which will cost us even mord money. The Clinical Commissioning Group

:02:07. > :02:08.reiterated today it is their policy to provide around 6`8 physiotherapy

:02:09. > :02:11.sessions in hospital before working with patients and their cardrs to

:02:12. > :02:16.provide the therapy themselves at home. However they did say, should a

:02:17. > :02:19.patients condition deterior`te, they would encourage them to get

:02:20. > :02:22.reassessed to make sure that the therapy, either that they'rd doing a

:02:23. > :02:30.home themselves or within the NHS, is still appropriate.

:02:31. > :02:34.Thousands of homes in part of Gloucestershire have been whthout

:02:35. > :02:38.water today. A pipe burst underneath a stream in Cinderford which caused

:02:39. > :02:41.a loss of supply to homes there Severn Trent said it brought it

:02:42. > :02:46.specialist machinery to pump water back into the main supply.

:02:47. > :02:48.Avon and Somerset Police ard continuing to trawl through CCTV

:02:49. > :02:53.footage after violence at the Bristol Rovers' game at the weekend.

:02:54. > :02:57.Six people were arrested after the match which saw Rovers relegated

:02:58. > :03:01.from the football league. Police horses were used after several

:03:02. > :03:06.hundred fans ran onto the phtch Officers say they expect to make

:03:07. > :03:09.more arrests in the coming days Thousands of people on the Somerset

:03:10. > :03:13.Levels have been enjoying a May festival that aims to banish the

:03:14. > :03:16.winter and welcome the spring. After the devastating floods, tod`y

:03:17. > :03:19.brought a much needed break from the recovery work, and a chance for

:03:20. > :03:26.people to celebrate the are`'s heritage. Here's Jules Hyam. The

:03:27. > :03:29.traditional May Festival Parade Recorded in the now customary way,

:03:30. > :03:36.but centred around the vill`ge maypole. Tradition is important here

:03:37. > :03:40.in Kingsbury Episcopi and they do it very well. This festival and these

:03:41. > :03:45.dances are to banish winter. Casting off the cloak of the colder months

:03:46. > :03:51.and welcoming the spring. It is about the change of seasons but also

:03:52. > :03:55.about the change in fortunes. Around here they would welcome a bht of

:03:56. > :03:58.that. All us know lots of pdople affected by the flooding but ,you

:03:59. > :04:02.know, people bounce back and I've seen loads of those people here

:04:03. > :04:06.today already so it is really great. Spring is here, and summer hs

:04:07. > :04:10.coming. The May Lady is a sxmbol of that but she's not the only one

:04:11. > :04:14.dressed for the occasion. Costumes and garlands, very much the order of

:04:15. > :04:17.the day. With so much local craft and culture being celebrated, it is

:04:18. > :04:19.understandable some of them didn't want there day interrupted by

:04:20. > :04:28.annoying news reporters. How much fun are you having today? Ul, Quite

:04:29. > :04:35.a lot of fun. I like the man who was cooking. I think one of the best

:04:36. > :04:38.things about Kingsbury May Fair is that you have this lovely vhllage

:04:39. > :04:42.that all of a sudden gets ddscended on by everyone in Somerset. It is

:04:43. > :04:45.such a wonderful celebration of spring coming and it feels like a

:04:46. > :04:53.real traditional West Country thing to do. Do you agree with yotr dad?

:04:54. > :04:56.Yes. It is the biggest Kingsbury May Festival yet, run entirely by

:04:57. > :05:03.volunteers and run by a comlunity who know a bit about pulling

:05:04. > :05:06.together. It's been another busy day on

:05:07. > :05:10.Bristol's harbour`side as the city's food festival enters it's sdcond

:05:11. > :05:13.week. Plenty of street food was on offer today and on tomorrow night's

:05:14. > :05:18.programme Sally Challoner whll be exploring how to shop for good food

:05:19. > :05:22.on a tight budget. Let's take a look at the we`ther for

:05:23. > :05:27.the west and David Braine h`s our forecast.

:05:28. > :05:31.Good evening. After some re`sonable weather through the holiday weekend

:05:32. > :05:34.it is all about to change. We have unsettled weather for the wdek

:05:35. > :05:37.ahead. Some rain or showers at times, also a bit breezy. Whnds

:05:38. > :05:41.mainly from the west or south west over the next few days. It hs

:05:42. > :05:44.low`pressure all the way, this line of cloud and rain crossing the

:05:45. > :05:48.region overnight tonight. This will be replaced by showers as wd move

:05:49. > :05:51.into the morning and one or two of those showers through the afternoon

:05:52. > :05:55.could be quite heavy with prolonged rain. It stays unsettled, there ll

:05:56. > :05:58.be plenty of showery rain tonight. It does clear by dawn, overnight

:05:59. > :06:01.temperatures should not fall below nine Celsius. Tomorrow is a fine

:06:02. > :06:09.start with sunny spells, patchy cloud which will develop through the

:06:10. > :06:14.morning and afternoon into showers. One or two of those showers could be

:06:15. > :06:20.quite heavy. 15 or maybe 16 Celsius will be the maximum temperature The

:06:21. > :06:24.outlook, expect a lot of cloud on Wednesday. Wednesday also a risk of

:06:25. > :06:28.seeing some showers, one or two of the showers could be slow`moving and

:06:29. > :06:31.heavy. Then on Thursday we have a line of thick cloud with more

:06:32. > :06:40.persistent rain. Typical temperatures this week betwden 4

:06:41. > :06:43.and 16 Celsius. Have a good evening. That's all from us, don't forget

:06:44. > :06:47.Late Kick Off's on at 11.35PM tonight here on BBC One, straight

:06:48. > :06:49.after Match of the Day. Thex'll be asking what's next for Bristol

:06:50. > :06:53.Rovers following their relegation out of the football league. And end

:06:54. > :06:58.of season reports on City and Yeovil too. I'm back with more in the late

:06:59. > :07:13.news at 10pm. The sunshine today for the bank

:07:14. > :07:17.holiday produced the highest temperature of the long weekend in

:07:18. > :07:21.eastern England today, at 20 Celsius. But to the west, the cloud

:07:22. > :07:25.has been gathering. We have seen a bit of rain in Northern Ireland and

:07:26. > :07:27.western Scotland, but the thicker cloud now pushing into the

:07:28. > :07:35.south-west of England is delivering more rain. It will become more

:07:36. > :07:38.extensive over the next few hours. A ragged area of rainfall will move

:07:39. > :07:42.east as the night goes on. If you have yet to make your journey home

:07:43. > :07:48.from the bank holiday weekend, you may encounter sums are a. -- some

:07:49. > :07:56.spray. Temperatures are not too bad . The good news is that most of the

:07:57. > :07:57.rain has gone by the morning. Some may be lingering in the
