:00:08. > :00:14.Good evening. The Prime Minister the English game couldn't ignore.

:00:15. > :00:17.Good evening. The Prime Minister says he's confident a new nuclear

:00:18. > :00:20.power station at Hinkley Point in Somerset will get built, amid

:00:21. > :00:23.growing worries that the deal may collapse. There are concerns that

:00:24. > :00:26.the European Union may decide that the financial guarantees offered by

:00:27. > :00:30.the Government breach the rules, and the whole project could then be in

:00:31. > :00:35.jeopardy. The plans for a new power station are already behind schedule.

:00:36. > :00:38.Clinton Rogers reports. In corridors of power there are

:00:39. > :00:47.plainly nerves about the future of Hinkley C. Can we please have time

:00:48. > :00:51.to debate this? It has to be put forward. But that call by the local

:00:52. > :00:53.MP has been seized upon by anti`nuclear campaigners as proof

:00:54. > :01:00.that the project is in their words looking more and more flaky. It's

:01:01. > :01:06.clear that Mr Granger is panicking, and he should be. He has hitched his

:01:07. > :01:10.political future to a project which has got no future now. Now while it

:01:11. > :01:14.might be argued he would say that, wouldn't he, it's been a difficult

:01:15. > :01:16.few months for Hinkley C, with the European Union now investigating

:01:17. > :01:19.whether the deal between the Government and the French power

:01:20. > :01:27.company, EDF, amounts to illegal state subsidy, and a legal academic

:01:28. > :01:31.arguing it may be invalid. Enter the Prime Minister no less, to say,

:01:32. > :01:34."Fear not Hinkley C will be built." Yet this week ` after a long pause `

:01:35. > :01:38.the company restarted engineering work to prepare this huge site in

:01:39. > :01:42.readiness for Hinkley C. The countries in Europe should be able

:01:43. > :01:44.to invest in nuclear energy as part of a balanced plan to provide core

:01:45. > :01:50.energy and keep carbon emissions down. That is what we are doing. I'm

:01:51. > :01:54.sure the commission will see that and the deal will go ahead. And you

:01:55. > :02:02.could argue, he would say that, wouldn't he? The European Union

:02:03. > :02:07.decision is key for the entire future of Hinkley C. If they decide

:02:08. > :02:11.the deal does amount to an illegal subsidy, there are those who believe

:02:12. > :02:16.that at that point EDF will walk away and the entire project will

:02:17. > :02:22.collapse. Yet this week, after a long pause, the company restarted

:02:23. > :02:25.engineering work, preparing this huge site in readiness for Hinkley

:02:26. > :02:28.C. An investment of several million pounds, a pretty clear indication

:02:29. > :02:35.you might think their confident the EU decision will go their way.

:02:36. > :02:40.A cricket club in Bristol is campaigning to stop one of its

:02:41. > :02:44.players being deported to Pakistan. Ahad Rizvi played for the Easton

:02:45. > :02:48.Cowboys after moving to the UK with his family last year. In March he

:02:49. > :02:53.was sent to a detention centre after the Home Office refused permission

:02:54. > :02:53.for him to stay. His family says he'll face religious persecution if

:02:54. > :03:05.he goes back and the cricket club is helping launch an appeal.

:03:06. > :03:08.They have got no funding back in Pakistan and they cannot go back to

:03:09. > :03:12.the neighbourhood where they have grown up because they will be in

:03:13. > :03:16.extreme danger. They will be going back to live on the streets of

:03:17. > :03:19.Pakistan with nothing or nobody, when there is a community cheer that

:03:20. > :03:23.is happy to welcome them and make them part of our community. Police

:03:24. > :03:26.in Bristol are investigating a series of arson attacks, after cars

:03:27. > :03:29.were set alight in the street over the bank holiday weekend. Several

:03:30. > :03:33.vehicles were set on fire in Henbury and Southmead in the early hours of

:03:34. > :03:38.Sunday morning. Police are asking anyone with information or who saw

:03:39. > :03:41.anything that night to get in touch. Employees at the Honda plant in

:03:42. > :03:50.Sweden have until today to apply for voluntary redundancy. So far, 109

:03:51. > :03:54.people have applied. `` in Swindon. The formal process is due to start

:03:55. > :03:57.next week. The car manufacturer is cutting jobs because of falling

:03:58. > :04:00.sales in Europe. They were some of Gloucestershire's most historic

:04:01. > :04:03.aircraft, but for years, some of the Gloster Aircraft Company's creations

:04:04. > :04:08.were left to the elements ` unseen and unprotected. Now though ` after

:04:09. > :04:18.years of planning ` they have a new home. Andy Howard was there to see

:04:19. > :04:26.it open. Once upon a time, Gloucestershire

:04:27. > :04:32.ruled these guys. These Javelin jet planes helped to build the area's

:04:33. > :04:35.aviation heritage. But for almost 30 years, the fight has been on to give

:04:36. > :04:42.these military marvels a home. And from today, this. `` this is it. No

:04:43. > :04:48.longer battered and bruised by the elements, these planes are here to

:04:49. > :04:52.help inspire the next generation of pilots and engineers. Talking of

:04:53. > :04:57.which, the red carpet was laid, ready for a legend of these guys.

:04:58. > :05:01.The guest of honour has just arrived, the last man to fly the

:05:02. > :05:07.real version of one of these. One of the most decorated British pilots

:05:08. > :05:14.around, Captain Eric Brown, is here to unveil a plaque. Now aged 95. I

:05:15. > :05:19.just wish some of those wonderful days could happen over again. Not

:05:20. > :05:27.the war, you had a wonderful, wonderful spirit. None better than

:05:28. > :05:36.here in the backroom, which was set up in World War I and through World

:05:37. > :05:41.War II. I shall never forget the wonderful people there for their

:05:42. > :05:48.heritage. Do not lose it. You have set it up now and I hope it stays

:05:49. > :05:51.you. From the past, to the future. You could feel the life coming back

:05:52. > :06:01.into this place and into these planes. Even the wine was jet fuel.

:06:02. > :06:06.So the museum is open, everything is ready to go, let's make our own bit

:06:07. > :06:16.of aviation history in the Vulcan. Where shall we go then? At! Does

:06:17. > :06:20.anybody know how to get down? Seriously! That's about all from me,

:06:21. > :06:24.but just time to show you these pictures taken by shocked diners on

:06:25. > :06:32.Bristol's Park Street of the Prime Minister dropping in for a bite to

:06:33. > :06:36.eat after a hard day's campaigning. We'll our weekend team will be back

:06:37. > :06:37.with you tomorrow ` now here's Ian Fergusson with a look at the

:06:38. > :06:39.weather. We'll our weekend team will be back

:06:40. > :06:42.with you tomorrow Good evening. I'm unsettled weekend. There will be

:06:43. > :06:53.some frequent showers. The rest of the weekend follows in a

:06:54. > :06:59.similar pattern. Tonight we will find a band of heavy rain moving

:07:00. > :07:03.east. Temperatures mild. By tomorrow morning, that band of rain should be

:07:04. > :07:05.clearing away gradually to the east. Things are starting to

:07:06. > :07:13.brighten up later through the morning. Accompanying that, some

:07:14. > :07:16.showers, heavy at times. Later in the afternoon the winds will

:07:17. > :07:23.strengthen further. A Met Office warning out for parts of West

:07:24. > :07:29.Somerset and the Bristol Channel. Cabbages tomorrow in the best of the

:07:30. > :07:32.sunny spells, 14 or 15. Similar on Sunday. The showers will die away

:07:33. > :07:37.forecast, where things are looking pretty unsettled for the next couple

:07:38. > :07:44.of days. Good evening. In this country, no

:07:45. > :07:51.two days of whether are stacked in this country, no two days of whether

:07:52. > :07:52.are Saky the same. But this weekend, it will feel like
