:00:00. > :00:11.Good evening. But now on

:00:12. > :00:14.Volunteers are rebuilding several uninsured homes on the

:00:15. > :00:16.Somerset Levels after the devastating floods.

:00:17. > :00:19.The community has rallied round to help people who either can't

:00:20. > :00:22.get insurance cover or whose claims have been turned down.

:00:23. > :00:36.When this house flooded last year, the insurers did not want

:00:37. > :00:44.And so for Chris Matthews, the volunteers working inside,

:00:45. > :00:51.This is the sorry state we are in at the moment.

:00:52. > :00:55.We visited the house in February, just after it flooded,

:00:56. > :01:03.a matter of days later, four inches of water was to become four feet.

:01:04. > :01:06.Rebuilding the house now is costing the family nothing,

:01:07. > :01:12.It restores your faith in htman nature, but it does worry me,

:01:13. > :01:17.because if ever this sort of thing was to happen again, I mean you are

:01:18. > :01:22.not going to get a constant flow of people who can afford to give you

:01:23. > :01:30.the time and also invest the money to rebuild.

:01:31. > :01:36.And even those who thought they had cover are finding the ddvil

:01:37. > :01:41.This couple, on the edge of Moorland, were told

:01:42. > :01:45.their insurance was null and void because they did not declare a

:01:46. > :01:52.So now, they are living in a caravan.

:01:53. > :01:56.As you can see I live in this wonderful caravan

:01:57. > :02:08.Sorry. The generosity of people is amazing! Amazing!

:02:09. > :02:14.The generosity does not stop there, theirs is another house being

:02:15. > :02:21.rebuilt by those giving their time for nothing.

:02:22. > :02:25.Councillors in Bath have approved plans for a ?2 million travellers'

:02:26. > :02:29.Banes currently has no pitches for travellers at all,

:02:30. > :02:36.Our political editor, Paul Barltrop, reports.

:02:37. > :02:38.For four years, they have been camped illegally.

:02:39. > :02:41.Now the council has to pay to make legit.

:02:42. > :02:46.?1.8 million will be spent in the green belt beside Bath.

:02:47. > :02:49.Instead of mud and portaloos, there will be set pitches,

:02:50. > :02:55.Opposition councillors say this is this unfair on taxpayers.

:02:56. > :02:58.I think they have every right to feel outraged by it.

:02:59. > :03:03.On top of that, I think the fact that the administration are

:03:04. > :03:06.talking about getting someone in place to keep check on

:03:07. > :03:15.We are not allowed to film inside, but in the meeting,

:03:16. > :03:17.councillors discuss the highway and environmental objections raised

:03:18. > :03:24.There was also much talk about the expense, with one member

:03:25. > :03:28.Today's vote was about the plans, not about the cost.

:03:29. > :03:32.For the councillor responsible, relief after years

:03:33. > :03:37.If you take it in comparison to building two

:03:38. > :03:40.bedroom houses, which is what it is taking comparison of, it is

:03:41. > :03:45.Bearing in mind that there `re major infrastructure problems on the site,

:03:46. > :03:49.bearing in mind it is a World Heritage site, and we are

:03:50. > :03:53.Also we are actually enhanchng the nature reserves which have

:03:54. > :03:59.?750,000 of the cost will come from the government,

:04:00. > :04:02.who expect councils to provhde suitable sites for travellers.

:04:03. > :04:15.The work is due to start in the autumn.

:04:16. > :04:19.In rugby, it was memories of what might have been for Bristol.

:04:20. > :04:22.They've lost their last ever game at the Memorial Stadium,

:04:23. > :04:25.meaning they'll be playing second tier rugby once again next season.

:04:26. > :04:35.Alistair Durden is there for us tonight.

:04:36. > :04:41.Yes it is a real shame for the supporters. The last are making

:04:42. > :04:48.their way after the Memorial Stadium pitch. They say the damage was done

:04:49. > :04:51.last year. `` last week. It was always going to be a tall order to

:04:52. > :04:55.turn things around. They really turn things around. They really

:04:56. > :05:02.needed was a fast start and took them half an hour to get on the

:05:03. > :05:06.score `` scoreboard. Short sticky sparse...

:05:07. > :05:15.They had an early second`half try to stop from 30 metres out, and the

:05:16. > :05:18.third came from Hughes he touched down near the post. Bristol were

:05:19. > :05:21.within eight points of their opponents within that point. They

:05:22. > :05:22.pressed the self`destruct bttton I pressed the self`destruct button I

:05:23. > :05:29.am afraid. Too late. We were like rabbits in headlights

:05:30. > :05:35.in the first half. It was only really

:05:36. > :05:40.the second half that we got going. They should have sorted out

:05:41. > :05:57.the fly half. It is a weird one. It doesn't feel

:05:58. > :05:59.real. Standing there, watching them lift the trophy. We played so well

:06:00. > :06:06.all year, it is Woody happening One all year, it is Woody happening One

:06:07. > :06:16.poor game. From that side of things, very frustrating. So no ferry tell

:06:17. > :06:22.ending here at the Memorial Stadium `` fairy tale ending.

:06:23. > :06:25.That's it from me tonight ` but Newsnight is just getting under

:06:26. > :06:31.I'll say good night at the end of a wet day ` and leave thd final

:06:32. > :06:43.A wet day indeed. It remains that way indeed.

:06:44. > :06:58.Much warmer than today and lore sunshine around. The arc of rain is

:06:59. > :06:58.finally being steered towards Worcestershire and Wiltshire.

:06:59. > :07:05.Worcestershire and Wiltshird. Bright, clear weather will be back

:07:06. > :07:10.in. Temperatures lower than you are seeing here, four or five Celsius

:07:11. > :07:18.but Ellsworth April nine of years. A call start. Through the day, there

:07:19. > :07:22.will be variable amounts of cloud. The vast majority of places will

:07:23. > :07:27.remain dry. It would be a pleasant and fine evening well up on the

:07:28. > :07:30.temperatures from today, back into high teens. Warmer still on Friday

:07:31. > :07:42.and muddy too. couple of days. You may have just

:07:43. > :07:48.heard the mention of the risk of storms at the weekend in regional

:07:49. > :07:53.forecasts. That depends on how this cloud in the Atlantic interacts with

:07:54. > :07:56.humid air developing over the rest of Europe. Today has been a pretty

:07:57. > :08:03.wet Wednesday across many areas. We wet Wednesday across many areas We

:08:04. > :08:10.have an area of rain pushing briefly across southern counties of England.
