:00:22. > :00:25.by her adoptive mother, Eunice Spry, from when she was just a baby.
:00:26. > :00:28.But now, Eunice Spry is due to be released from prison and, according
:00:29. > :00:37.At home with her beloved dogs, and after a childhood filled with
:00:38. > :00:46.terror and torture Victoria Spry is at last at peace.
:00:47. > :00:48.It's now seven years since the woman Victoria still calls
:00:49. > :00:52.mum was sent to prison for what a judge called the worst case of child
:00:53. > :01:00.Eunice Spry was a foster mother, to the outside world a pillar
:01:01. > :01:02.of the community, but behind closed doors she spent nearly
:01:03. > :01:09.20 years mentally and physically torturing the children in her care.
:01:10. > :01:11.Routinely starving them, beating them, making them drink
:01:12. > :01:23.bleach then eat their own vomit and forcing sticks down their throats.
:01:24. > :01:32.I would be gagging and crying and she said that I had a weak mind, it
:01:33. > :01:39.was all mind over matter. I was about five years old. After a I
:01:40. > :01:44.would scream in pain. I would not scream because I was being
:01:45. > :01:49.rebellious, like she said I was just in pain. Then she would smash a
:01:50. > :01:58.stick down our throats. I remember giving up. I was in so much pain.
:01:59. > :02:04.There was no more fight left. I had to go to the dentist and get
:02:05. > :02:14.dentures. Because you lost your teeth? Yes. They kept building them
:02:15. > :02:17.At one point, Victoria was stripped naked, tied up, blindfolded
:02:18. > :02:21.and left in the corner of a freezing cold room at this derelict farmhouse
:02:22. > :02:25.Astonishingly, though, the signs were ignored.
:02:26. > :02:28.Opportunities to help the children were missed by the authorities.
:02:29. > :02:32.And it was only years later, when driven to the brink of suicide,
:02:33. > :02:44.that Victoria spoke out and Spry was arrested.
:02:45. > :02:53.It was harrowing, going into court and giving evidence, and seeing the
:02:54. > :02:59.sticks with teeth marks on, and seeing the notes that I wrote when I
:03:00. > :03:04.was a baby at asking neighbours to be my mother. Things that I had
:03:05. > :03:08.forgotten, it was difficult to see. I really thought that she was going
:03:09. > :03:11.She was sentenced to 14 years in prison, but now,
:03:12. > :03:15.seven years later, is due to be released and is due to be housed
:03:16. > :03:19.Something that Victoria has started a petition against, which now has
:03:20. > :03:34.I have worked so hard to build a life for myself and I wanted to
:03:35. > :03:42.carry on and carry on being as happy as I am. I cannot see her again. She
:03:43. > :03:44.messed with my head. I am not frightened of her physically, but it
