:00:24. > :00:27.although a man's been convicted of his murder they say they're still

:00:28. > :00:39.waiting for answers about how the authorities handled the sittation.

:00:40. > :00:47.Flowers for a murdered brother. Exactly a year after Bijan Dbrahimi

:00:48. > :00:51.was killed outside his flat, two of his sisters returned to the scene.

:00:52. > :00:58.Bijan, who was originally from Iran, was beaten to death and then

:00:59. > :01:03.set on fire after rumours wdre spread that he was a paedophile The

:01:04. > :01:10.police say that those rumours were completely untrue.

:01:11. > :01:19.A a few days before he was killed, Bijan filmed the man who wotld later

:01:20. > :01:24.kill him. Lee James was jailed, along with another man who `dmitted

:01:25. > :01:29.assisting him. But that was not the end of the investigation. The last

:01:30. > :01:33.year, the Independent Policd Complaints Commission have been

:01:34. > :01:37.looking at the way that the police dealt with Bijan before he was

:01:38. > :01:42.killed. The Crown Prosecution Service is now deciding whether or

:01:43. > :01:47.not to charge three police officers and a two minute he support officer

:01:48. > :01:55.and investigations are conthnuing into six other officers and six call

:01:56. > :02:01.handlers. But after a year, no definite outcome.

:02:02. > :02:07.This weighting is unimaginable pain that we are going through. We are

:02:08. > :02:12.waiting to hear what will bd the final results and we cannot wait any

:02:13. > :02:20.longer to find out what happened to our brother.

:02:21. > :02:22.The Independent police 's `` Independent Police Complaints

:02:23. > :02:27.Commission said that it was a complicated investigation that was

:02:28. > :02:31.too serious to rush. His falily say that they want to see all of the

:02:32. > :02:34.paperwork about his dealing with the police as soon as possible.

:02:35. > :02:36.A company which runs a water park in Gloucestershire where

:02:56. > :02:57.For the first time, doctors from the West are using

:02:58. > :03:00.psychedelic drugs to try to help people with mental illnesses.

:03:01. > :03:03.A team from Bristol is using a chemical found in magic mtshrooms

:03:04. > :03:07.to help people with conditions like post`traumatic stress disorder.

:03:08. > :03:11.But as our health correspondent reports, using illegal drugs

:03:12. > :03:18.in conventional medicine is still highly controversial.

:03:19. > :03:23.He was the first doctor in the UK to take a psycheddlic drug

:03:24. > :03:28.derived from magic mushrooms to see if was safe for medical use.

:03:29. > :03:32.Dr Sessa believes psychedelhcs could transform our understanding

:03:33. > :03:41.of the relationship between the mind and brain.

:03:42. > :03:47.One thing about the drugs is that I know about them and I know through

:03:48. > :03:54.my research that they are s`fe and relatively not toxic drugs from a

:03:55. > :04:00.physiological point of view. The main risks are the psychological

:04:01. > :04:09.risks if the drug is taken out of control and without being monitored.

:04:10. > :04:15.Now this laboratory is being used to monitor those who were taking

:04:16. > :04:29.psilocybin. This scanner shows the parts of the brain using thd drug.

:04:30. > :04:33.The doctors have overturned 30 years of resistance to this type of

:04:34. > :04:38.research. It has been an uphill battle, because it is much lore

:04:39. > :04:43.difficult to use psychedelic drugs for these type of trials th`n even

:04:44. > :04:47.harrowing. Now that the teal have shown that this is safe if taken in

:04:48. > :04:52.controlled settings, they hope to raise enough money to carry out a

:04:53. > :04:58.full clinical trial. With me as Doctor Tim Willi`ms who

:04:59. > :05:01.is involved in the study. If you get that funding, what would yot like to

:05:02. > :05:07.achieve? We would like to achieve by using

:05:08. > :05:13.this substance in a patient population. It could be a novel

:05:14. > :05:18.treatment to treat those with different types of mental illness.

:05:19. > :05:22.What is the most exciting thing to come out of the study?

:05:23. > :05:30.It looks like it affects thd areas of the pain `` brain to help those

:05:31. > :05:35.who are stuck in their medical `` mental illness. It could be really

:05:36. > :05:43.exciting if those results are proven further. In my day to day work, I

:05:44. > :05:47.see people who are very ill and very stuck in their mental illness. It

:05:48. > :05:52.would be great to have a new type of medication to help them recover

:05:53. > :05:57.Is there a danger that using illegal drugs as the repeat will make them

:05:58. > :06:02.more attractive to people as recreational drugs?

:06:03. > :06:08.We are very clear that this is a study using therapeutic drugs. In

:06:09. > :06:10.the same way that using such drugs in a hospital does not encotrage

:06:11. > :06:16.people to use harrowing. `` heroine. A road

:06:17. > :06:18.in Somerset is still closed after The road linking Ilminster with

:06:19. > :06:21.Langport has been closed since February, when heavy rain

:06:22. > :06:24.caused huge cracks to appear. Now the highways department believes

:06:25. > :06:26.land is slipping on the hillside and further tests are needed,

:06:27. > :06:29.making it difficult for loc`l people That's it, Newsnight's over on

:06:30. > :06:33.BBC Two, asking why the Prile But now, let's get the weather

:06:34. > :06:47.forecast, starting with the West. Some patchy and light rain loving

:06:48. > :06:54.eastwards. There will be sole warm and sunny spells around. During the

:06:55. > :07:01.night, there will be rain and drizzle. Temperatures will be very

:07:02. > :07:07.mild, 15 or 16 Celsius. Why tomorrow morning, a dry start. That will turn

:07:08. > :07:11.over and break up as the dax goes on. For the rest of the day, there

:07:12. > :07:17.will be a combination of sunny spells. A high pollen count once

:07:18. > :07:24.again. Temperatures will be up, so I won't be surprised if we sed 20

:07:25. > :07:31.Celsius. Looking beyond that, a cloudy and dry day to come. Turning

:07:32. > :07:33.more humid at the end of thd week, Thunder likely on Friday.

:07:34. > :07:36.Thursday. Of course, there is more chance of seeing thundery downpours

:07:37. > :07:48.as a result. Good evening. The forecast will

:07:49. > :07:51.divide the nation in two camps, one where you are looking forward to

:07:52. > :07:56.what is coming and the other where you may not be too keen. For those

:07:57. > :08:01.on their summer break, good sunny spells. Heat and increasing humidity

:08:02. > :08:05.starting to build, which later in the week will lead to some nasty

:08:06. > :08:12.thunderstorms. So such thunderstorms out there at the moment. Breezy out

:08:13. > :08:17.there. Sporadic showers. If your gardens need a watering, I can not

:08:18. > :08:18.promise everywhere will see the
