:01:27. > :01:30.unfortunately. One of those areas we frequently have to just monitor, let

:02:15. > :02:17.of the spectacular storm on her phone, little did she know about 12

:02:41. > :02:45.When I ran in there and saw the room, I panicked.

:02:46. > :02:48.As the ambulance records show, the lightning had actually gone

:02:49. > :02:54.I was struck on my head there, travelled through this arm, down to

:02:55. > :02:59.The ambulance men said you were saved by your flip`flops.

:03:00. > :03:03.They said if I had not had flip`flops on, I was sat on the bed,

:03:04. > :03:08.I probably wouldn't be here, it would probably have killed my heart.

:03:09. > :03:11.The house now needs completely rewiring.

:03:12. > :03:14.This was the socket that was blown out of my daughter's bedroom wall.

:03:15. > :03:18.Outside there is little sign of the damage caused.

:03:19. > :03:20.Unlike this house in Gloucester, which had its roof badly damaged

:03:21. > :03:25.The Fire Brigade in Wiltshire describe the storms

:03:26. > :03:32.On Saturday alone, they had more than 100 calls for help.

:03:33. > :03:34.The storms may be over for now but more is forecast

:03:35. > :03:37.After clearing up this weekend's damage, Jenny is

:03:38. > :03:44.sincerely hoping that lightning really doesn't strike twice.

:03:45. > :03:46.It could have been so much worse, couldn't it?

:03:47. > :03:48.I've never experienced anything like that in my life.

:03:49. > :03:51.I'll never experienced anything like that again, to be honest with you.

:04:29. > :04:33.She's been told his absence cannot be authorised

:04:34. > :04:35.under new guidelines, because the situation is not "extraordinary."

:04:36. > :04:44.In this household, time together is precious.

:04:45. > :04:53.He could, say doctors, die within a few years.

:04:54. > :04:58.Maxine booked a nine`day cruise in October during term time

:04:59. > :05:03.but was told by her school that her case was not extraordinary.

:05:04. > :05:07.A covering letter explained that in some circumstances parents can

:05:08. > :05:12.be committing an offence and face a potential fine of ?1000.

:05:13. > :05:18.We live day to day with Curtis having many seizures.

:05:19. > :05:22.If anything happened to Curtis and we hadn't gone, I don't think I

:05:23. > :05:31.It seems a tough decision by the school but under a truancy

:05:32. > :05:34.crackdown by the former Education Secretary Michael Gove, heads are

:05:35. > :05:36.not allowed to grant 10 days of discretionary holiday any more.

:05:37. > :05:40.Today, the BBC was told by Somerset County Council that

:06:03. > :06:09.As for Maxine and Curtis, relief at today's news that although

:06:10. > :06:18.the holiday is not authorised, there would not be any punishment.

:06:19. > :06:21.Now, we'll have the latest on the fire at that recycling plant

:06:22. > :06:23.in Swindon when we're back as part of Breakfast in the morning.

:06:24. > :06:25.But for now after a lovely hot day, it's time to hand you on to Ian

:06:26. > :06:43.Temperatures will be on the right tomorrow. Dry, sunny and warm,

:06:44. > :06:48.tomorrow, hot arguably and through the course of two night. It will be

:06:49. > :06:54.a mild affair. 15 or 16 Celsius. Towards the East, you may well find

:06:55. > :06:57.by daybreak that there is some low cloud coming across from the North

:06:58. > :07:00.Sea. That will start to break up, the bulk of you will start to break

:07:01. > :07:04.up, the bulk of you. With sunshine. Through the course of the day, fair

:07:05. > :07:08.weather, cloud say there will be strong sunshine around, the UV

:07:09. > :07:14.levels as high as they get in the British Isles and the pollen count

:07:15. > :07:18.moderate. Moderate breeze, a very warm feel to things, temperatures

:07:19. > :07:22.could get as high as 2627 out towards the east. Similar

:07:23. > :07:29.temperatures by mid week and towards the latter stages, if there is are

:07:30. > :07:30.starting to destabilise, a risk of showers and thunderstorms but not

:07:31. > :07:40.necessarily everywhere. Good evening. If you were

:07:41. > :07:46.unfortunate enough to be at the sharp end of the weekend storms

:07:47. > :07:51.you'll be pleased to know that the atmosphere is less volatile now.

:07:52. > :07:55.Temperatures of 28 Celsius on the Sussex coast today. Most places were

:07:56. > :07:59.fine and warm. In Scotland it was cool with the

:08:00. > :08:04.breeze off the sea. Some eastern coasts will be cooler. They will be

:08:05. > :08:09.the exception. Most of us very warm and the vast majority will stay dry.

:08:10. > :08:13.That is the way overnight. A lot of low cloud drifting to eastern

:08:14. > :08:17.counties. Misty towards the north-eastern coast of Scotland.

:08:18. > :08:23.Maybe the odd spot of rain over Northern Ireland. Dry. A muggy,

:08:24. > :08:29.humid night. It will be a cloudy old start over some eastern counties.

:08:30. > :08:32.That will gradually thin and retreat towards coastal areas. Patchy rain

:08:33. > :08:38.over the west of Northern Ireland. Mid-afternoon and some of these

:08:39. > :08:39.numbers might be on the conservative side. I would not be surprised
