:00:36. > :00:39.On the 22nd of July last ye`r, CCTV caught them shopping in Cheltenham

:00:40. > :00:42.when Spencer bought her a phnk dress, a dress she's seen wdaring

:00:43. > :00:49.The following night Danny Spencer visited Jane in her flat in Whaddon

:00:50. > :00:53.and, for a reason only he knows he strangled her and hid her body

:00:54. > :00:57.in her bed, covering it with a duvet and pillows.

:00:58. > :01:00.He hid her so well that, two days later when her famhly came

:01:01. > :01:07.Spencer then tried to cover his tracks, telling friends

:01:08. > :01:10.and family who were looking for Jane that she was away `nd that

:01:11. > :01:15.He was caught on camera driving her car, which he later sold for ?2 500.

:01:16. > :01:18.Police say it was to make people believe she'd

:01:19. > :01:23.But, as concerns grew, Jane Wiggett's family reported her

:01:24. > :01:29.They told police Danny Spencer had been in contact with her so they

:01:30. > :01:33.called him, but he lied bec`use he knew he had already killed her.

:01:34. > :01:35.She's supposed to be calling me tonight around ten o'clock.

:01:36. > :01:46.And why is it she is not speaking to anyone else?

:01:47. > :01:52.Have you got a telephone nulber for her?

:01:53. > :01:59.Because she's been reported as a missing person to us.

:02:00. > :02:02.The next day, police found Jane Wiggett's body in her flat three

:02:03. > :02:06.Danny Spencer had gone to ground so they immediately issued

:02:07. > :02:10.Police are looking for a man from Cheltenham they believd

:02:11. > :02:14.Tonight police want to locate Danny Spencer.

:02:15. > :02:17.They are concerned he may try to leave the country.

:02:18. > :02:22.Spencer was arrested at this hotel near Birmingh`m

:02:23. > :02:24.Airport after a member of staff recognised him from the appdal.

:02:25. > :02:27.He had his passport with hil and a hunting knife.

:02:28. > :02:31.Forensic analysis found his blood under Jane Wiggett's

:02:32. > :02:33.fingernails, but it was also his lack of phone calls to

:02:34. > :02:39.The family and friends were continuing to make contact with Jane

:02:40. > :02:42.by her mobile phone and landline, but Daniel Spencer in fact stopped

:02:43. > :02:47.making any form of contact with Jane in this way from around that date,

:02:48. > :02:52.the 24th of July, and that hs why we feel he knew she didn't need to

:02:53. > :02:58.be phoned because in fact hd had been responsible for her de`th.

:02:59. > :03:02.Danny Spencer now faces a life sentence for killing

:03:03. > :03:05.a woman he had been violent to in the past, but a woman, it

:03:06. > :03:21.A Royal Marine from Somerset will not be able to take his battle to

:03:22. > :03:23.overturn his conviction for murder to the Supreme Court

:03:24. > :03:26.Alexander Blackman ` who's 39 and from Taunton ` was

:03:27. > :03:29.jailed for ten years for shooting dead a wounded Afghan insurgent

:03:30. > :03:31.Earlier this year his appeal was rejected at the

:03:32. > :03:35.The Bishop of Gloucester has been interviewed by police on suspicion

:03:36. > :03:38.of indecently assaulting a woman and a girl more than 30 years ago.

:03:39. > :03:40.The Right Reverend Michael Perham was not arrested.

:03:41. > :03:42.On Saturday it was announced he would be standing down from

:03:43. > :03:51.May 2004, and the new Bishop of Gloucester is enthroned.
