:00:19. > :00:25.Shrien Dewani has always denied having his new bride Ani killed,

:00:26. > :00:30.He was extradited from Britain to South Africa in April and

:00:31. > :00:38.It's been a long time coming but finally the trial of

:00:39. > :00:42.Shrien Dewani will begin in just under two months' time.

:00:43. > :00:46.He was first arrested a month after Ani's death in 2010.

:00:47. > :00:49.She'd been shot in the neck in the taxi they'd hired in

:00:50. > :00:56.But it took another three years for the 35`year`old to be extradited.

:00:57. > :01:00.He was diagnosed as suffering severe depression and was hospitalised

:01:01. > :01:06.Today at the Western Cape Court, a panel of three psychiatrists

:01:07. > :01:09.ruled that he is no longer suffering from a mental illness,

:01:10. > :01:15.The experts had been assessing him for a month at this psychiatric

:01:16. > :01:21.In their report they looked at Shrien Dewani's mental state

:01:22. > :01:27.They said a week after Ani's funeral he began suffering flashbacks

:01:28. > :01:32.He also took an overdose of pain killers to help him sleep.

:01:33. > :01:35.During the following three years, he became increasingly sensitive

:01:36. > :01:40.to noise ` so much so that he had to go and live in a campervan.

:01:41. > :01:42.Since travelling to South Africa the panel found

:01:43. > :01:47.his mental state had improved and he was often affable and articulate.

:01:48. > :01:50.He was also able to follow a demanding daily routine and hold

:01:51. > :01:55.The panel were also impressed with what they described as his

:01:56. > :02:00.The findings were given outside the court.

:02:01. > :02:04.The court has made a finding that the accused, Mr Dewani, is fit

:02:05. > :02:11.The issues around his mental health have been resolved.

:02:12. > :02:15.Therefore the state is now in a position to proceed with this

:02:16. > :02:20.I have appointed a legal team to take this further.

:02:21. > :02:24.There will be a pre`trial hearing on the 9th of September.

:02:25. > :02:28.A month later the trial itself will begin, on October 6th ` it's due to

:02:29. > :02:35.Ani Dewani's whole family was in court today to hear the judgement.

:02:36. > :02:43.They welcomed today's ruling as "a huge step in the right direction".

:02:44. > :02:46.In other news, a 33`year`old man has died while helping set up a

:02:47. > :02:50.The accident, which involved a fork`lift truck,

:02:51. > :02:53.happened at Sallygrove Farm near Nailsworth yesterday lunchtime.
