:00:17. > :00:18.Good afternoon from Points West There's been serious disorddr

:00:19. > :00:23.in Bristol overnight. Five men are being treated

:00:24. > :00:26.for stab injuries after a fhght broke out in a pub, and there have

:00:27. > :00:31.also been several arrests. Scott Ellis reports.

:00:32. > :00:34.Police were called to Stapldton Road at 6am this morning with reports of

:00:35. > :00:42.trouble inside the Black Sw`n pub and club, a dispute which spilled

:00:43. > :00:44.out onto the streets. This morning we have seen crime

:00:45. > :00:47.scene investigators are makhng a thorough search of the year they are

:00:48. > :00:52.outside the Black Swan and `long several residential streets nearby.

:00:53. > :00:55.Police will also be viewing CCTV footage of the nearby streets.

:00:56. > :01:03.The police say five men on hn their 20s and 30s are being treated

:01:04. > :01:06.in hospital for stabbing injuries. These are said to be not

:01:07. > :01:14.life`threatening but they s`id five men are also under arrest

:01:15. > :01:18.and will be questioned. Police are describing this

:01:19. > :01:21.as an isolated incident. I would always prefer a dispute

:01:22. > :01:23.to be settled with conversation The people involved have chosen to

:01:24. > :01:39.use knives, which is worrying in itself.

:01:40. > :01:45.But knowing that five men h`ve been stabbed and the road cordondd

:01:46. > :01:48.off worries those living here. Only last month there were six

:01:49. > :01:52.separate stabbings in the c`rnival in neighbouring St Paul's.

:01:53. > :01:55.Engineering works to double the railway line between Swhndon

:01:56. > :01:57.and Kemble have been offici`lly completed this weekend.

:01:58. > :02:00.It's cost ?45 million and mdant months of disruption for colmuters,

:02:01. > :02:26.but extra trains won't run for at least another three years.

:02:27. > :02:33.It is a great shame we will not have more trains and I will speak to the

:02:34. > :02:35.government to try to get thdm before them. We have the capacity `nd just

:02:36. > :02:42.need the vehicles. Female rugby players from the West

:02:43. > :02:44.Country are celebrating aftdr it was announced the Sevens squad will be

:02:45. > :02:47.turning professional, meaning they'll be paid for the first time.

:02:48. > :02:49.Six players from here made the squad which lifted the World Cup

:02:50. > :02:52.in Paris last Sunday. All 20 contracted players whll train

:02:53. > :02:54.full`time at Twickenham from September.

:02:55. > :02:56.The first big test for them will come at the Rio Olympics in 201 .

:02:57. > :02:59.Today's west`country derby between Forest Green and Brhstol

:03:00. > :03:01.Rovers finished as a 1`1 dr`w. It was a record league crowd

:03:02. > :03:04.at the New Lawn, with away fans making up half of

:03:05. > :03:07.the attendance of just under 3, 00. Andy Monkhouse scored first

:03:08. > :03:15.for Bristol Rovers, and Jon Parkin equalised for Forest Green.

:03:16. > :03:24.We are confident and starting to settle down. I would have bden happy

:03:25. > :03:32.with one point before the g`me, but we expected three 75 minutes in but

:03:33. > :03:36.definitely an improvement. Both sets of fans were very good and we all

:03:37. > :03:42.sang our hearts out and it was a very entertaining game which is all

:03:43. > :03:44.I can say. Not a bad game at all and we got a point at the end of the day

:03:45. > :03:50.so I am happy. There's been huge disappointment for

:03:51. > :03:52.Gloucestershire cricket club today as the one day international between

:03:53. > :03:55.England and India was abandoned without a ball being bowled.

:03:56. > :03:57.Fans were upbeat, but the club says it's lost about ?40,000.

:03:58. > :04:07.15,000 people had bought tickets although they'll all be reftnded.

:04:08. > :04:16.We have had two months of good weather and typical bank holiday

:04:17. > :04:21.Monday. Rained off. You could not plan six we never expected ht to be

:04:22. > :04:30.called off. We were expecting at least 20 overs, so bad luck. We were

:04:31. > :04:32.all excited and the England team and coach and Indian team have been very

:04:33. > :04:34.complimentary over the last few days.

:04:35. > :04:39.British cycling has made st`rs out of Hoy, Wiggins and Pendleton, but

:04:40. > :04:42.away from the track and road racing, two west country women have been

:04:43. > :04:45.taking almost all the titles on offer in Fourcross mountain biking.

:04:46. > :04:47.It's not funded or promoted like the Olympic events, but it is one of

:04:48. > :04:54.cycling's most exciting disciplines. Here's Jules Hyam.

:04:55. > :04:56.MUSIC: "Galaxy Bounce" by Chemical Brothers.

:04:57. > :04:59.It's mountain bike racing, but Four Cross has jumps.

:05:00. > :05:02.You need skill and nerve, like Bristol's Liz Fowler.

:05:03. > :05:09.This is her in front winning the National Championship.

:05:10. > :05:18.I had a go at my first race a couple of years ago and absolutely fell in

:05:19. > :05:23.love with the speed and exchtement, adrenaline and the friendliness and

:05:24. > :05:27.atmosphere. It is good to w`tch because you have a clear winner

:05:28. > :05:32.Liz won this year's Nationals, but the last four have been won another

:05:33. > :05:34.west country rider, Katy Curd. She's now switched to downhhll

:05:35. > :05:36.racing against the clock, btt not before she pulled off this love to

:05:37. > :05:52.take the Four Cross World thtle It is a big goal of mine thhs year,

:05:53. > :05:55.my last race, and I was going to call it but luckily they made it and

:05:56. > :06:00.eventually won the title. Katy's hoping to win more thtles

:06:01. > :06:05.in her new discipline, leavhng Liz to win more at Four Cross.

:06:06. > :06:09.Council workmen have made a very public spelling mistake aftdr

:06:10. > :06:13.getting a three`letter word wrong. They painted the letter P instead of

:06:14. > :06:24.an S as part of work to mark out new bus stops on Old Market, spdlling

:06:25. > :06:26.out the words Bup Stop instdad. Being a Bank Holiday,

:06:27. > :06:28.Bristol City Council have bden unavailable for comment.

:06:29. > :06:31.Well, as you saw from the pictures at the

:06:32. > :06:34.county ground earlier, the weather's not been great today, but to take

:06:35. > :06:41.look at the prospects for the next 24 hours, here's Alexis Gredn.

:06:42. > :06:47.Is a soggy end to the bank holiday and the rain will stay with us

:06:48. > :06:53.overnight into tomorrow. Sole intense downpours at times, and very

:06:54. > :07:00.mild temperatures, loads of 14 Celsius. The rain will be whth us

:07:01. > :07:06.first thing tomorrow, perhaps causing localised flooding, but

:07:07. > :07:11.gradually improving and the showers becoming more confined to other

:07:12. > :07:18.areas and pleasantly warm in the sunshine. Staying unsettled with

:07:19. > :07:20.rain at times on Wednesday `nd a mixture of sunny spells on Thursday

:07:21. > :07:26.and Friday. That's it from us this evening

:07:27. > :07:28.There's more news on the BBC Website.
