:00:10. > :00:15.Protestors against a new cull of badgers have begun gathering

:00:16. > :00:18.in Somerset amid reports that the shooting may be imminent.

:00:19. > :00:21.Licences have already been issued for fresh culls to begin in Somerset

:00:22. > :00:26.and Gloucestershire in an attempt to tackle TB in cattle.

:00:27. > :00:30.Badgers are being blamed for spreading the disease.

:00:31. > :00:34.Clinton Rogers has this evening been to the protest camp in Somerset.

:00:35. > :00:38.Now, the exact start date of the new badger cull both here in Somerset

:00:39. > :00:43.and in Gloucestershire is being kept a closely guarded secret.

:00:44. > :00:46.But as you can see behind me, the opponents of the cull have

:00:47. > :00:49.already started setting up base camp amid strong rumours that

:00:50. > :00:52.the shooters will be starting their work in the next day or two.

:00:53. > :00:56.Joining me now is Jay Tiernan, one of the protest group leaders.

:00:57. > :00:59.You didn't stop it last year, is that not in some ways

:01:00. > :01:04.Not at all, last year there was a target to kill

:01:05. > :01:08.at least 2,200 badgers and at the end of six weeks they had killed

:01:09. > :01:11.A huge difference between 2,200 and 890.

:01:12. > :01:15.They are back and they have reduced their target

:01:16. > :01:19.How much impact we will have on them I don't know.

:01:20. > :01:27.Absolutely, if we can see them we will go and make sure we can stop

:01:28. > :01:29.Just our presence alone stops them shooting the badgers.

:01:30. > :01:34.Not everyone is opposed to the cull.

:01:35. > :01:36.The National Farmers Union insists it is an important weapon

:01:37. > :01:42.Earlier I spoke to Ian Johnson, the Regional Communications Manager

:01:43. > :01:49.Last year you had over 400 outbreaks across Somerset and Gloucestershire

:01:50. > :01:55.and nearly 5,000 cattle slaughtered in those two counties alone.

:01:56. > :02:05.What is different this year is the target

:02:06. > :02:08.for the minimum number of badgers to be culled, smaller than last year.

:02:09. > :02:12.In Somerset it is 316. In Gloucester, 615.

:02:13. > :02:15.The shooters have a maximum of six weeks to complete that work

:02:16. > :02:24.Some residents are looking at spending

:02:25. > :02:28.a second night away from their homes after a fire in a Bristol block

:02:29. > :02:33.40 firefghters were needed yesterday to bring the fire

:02:34. > :02:39.on the seventh floor of the building in Kingsdown under control.

:02:43. > :02:45.Royal Engineers whose plane crashed 70 years ago on hills

:02:46. > :02:50.They had been heading to fight at Arnhem when their glider came down.

:02:51. > :02:59.At the same time of year, every year, for 35 years, they have

:03:00. > :03:02.come to remember 21 airborne engineers and two glider pilots who

:03:03. > :03:08.They died in these fields near Paulton

:03:09. > :03:16.I knew one of the glider pilots that was killed here.

:03:17. > :03:21.That glider was at 2,500 feet, coming across,

:03:22. > :03:30.So, the pilot pulled the roped off and

:03:31. > :03:38.And they had about five minutes to contemplate their death.

:03:39. > :03:42.But, you know, at 22 years old, you would know in five minutes you

:03:43. > :04:03.A special tribute for this anniversary memorial, two

:04:04. > :04:06.Austers and a Chipmunk paying their respects, flying over Double Hill.

:04:07. > :04:08.A tribute to the men who are regarded here

:04:09. > :04:12.as the first casualties of Operation Market Garden.

:04:13. > :04:19.In football it was a good result for all our league teams,

:04:20. > :04:24.Bristol City moved into second in League 1 after a 2`0 win

:04:25. > :04:29.Second`half goals from Aden Flint and Greg Cunningham earned them

:04:37. > :04:44.Defender Martin headed Yeovil into an early lead from a Sam Foley

:04:45. > :04:50.He netted his second with a far post header from a Foley free kick.

:04:51. > :04:52.Yeovil remained on top after the break.

:04:53. > :04:54.AJ Leitch`Smith finding the top corner to put

:04:55. > :05:02.And Cheltenham Town's good start to the season continued with

:05:03. > :05:10.Bristol Rugby got off to a winning start to the new Championship

:05:11. > :05:24.A crowd of over 8,500 thousand was at Ashton Gate.

:05:25. > :05:36.We've had a lovely day, plenty of sunny spells, but

:05:37. > :05:38.underneath the clear skies tonight I think we will see temperatures

:05:39. > :05:44.A lot chillier than the past few nights, perhaps a touch

:05:45. > :05:47.These are the values for towns and cities.

:05:48. > :05:50.Some rural spots may well see five or six degrees.

:05:51. > :05:52.So, a fairly chilly start to the day tomorrow.

:05:53. > :05:55.Any mist and fog should lift fairly quickly and then some

:05:56. > :05:58.Just a little bit of fair`weather cloud bubbling up through the day.

:05:59. > :06:08.Temperatures where they should be for the time of year, highs of 21.

:06:09. > :06:13.Good evening. Most of us had a lovely end to the weekend but the

:06:14. > :06:17.exception was the north-east of Scotland. It was cold, wet and windy

:06:18. > :06:20.but the low responsible is now moving away and we have high

:06:21. > :06:23.pressure moving its way in from the West. The pressure is rising all the

:06:24. > :06:26.while over the next few days which will settle things down nicely and

:06:27. > :06:32.it will be dry pretty much all week. But the forecasting headache will be

:06:33. > :06:34.the amount of cloud. The next few hours will still be pretty wet and

:06:35. > :06:35.windy in the north-east of
