:00:16. > :00:21.patrolling West Somerset amid reports that

:00:22. > :00:30.But so far, the protestors

:00:31. > :00:34.Meanwhile, another group of badger protesters started setting tp camp

:00:35. > :00:37.And earlier, Clinton Rogers went to meet them.

:00:38. > :00:41.Now, the exact start date of the new badger cull both here in Solerset

:00:42. > :00:43.and in Gloucestershire is bding kept a closely guarded secret.

:00:44. > :00:46.But as you can see behind md, the opponents of the cull h`ve

:00:47. > :00:49.already started setting up base camp amid strong rumours that

:00:50. > :00:52.the shooters will be starting their work in the next day or two.

:00:53. > :00:55.Joining me now is Jay Tiern`n, who's one of the protest group le`ders.

:00:56. > :00:58.Mr Tiernan, you didn't stop it last year, is that not in some w`ys

:00:59. > :01:03.Last year there was a target to kill at least 2,200

:01:04. > :01:06.badgers and at the end of six weeks they had killed 89 .

:01:07. > :01:07.A huge difference between 2,200 and 890.

:01:08. > :01:12.They are back and they have reduced their target massively, down to 316.

:01:13. > :01:15.How much effect we'll have on them I don't know, but we'll certahnly not

:01:16. > :01:20.Absolutely, if we can see them we will go

:01:21. > :01:23.Just our presence alone is enough to make

:01:24. > :01:26.them break their rifles and that stops them shooting the badgers

:01:27. > :01:29.Of course, not everyone is opposed to the cull.

:01:30. > :01:31.The National Farmers' Union insists it is an important weapon

:01:32. > :01:37.Earlier I spoke to Ian Johnson, the Regional Communications Manager

:01:38. > :01:43.Last year you had over 400 outbreaks across Somerset and Gloucestershire

:01:44. > :01:49.and nearly 5,000 cattle slatghtered in those two counties alone.

:01:50. > :01:55.What is different this year is the target

:01:56. > :02:00.for the minimum number of b`dgers to be culled, smaller than last year.

:02:01. > :02:02.In Somerset it is 316. In Gloucester, 615.

:02:03. > :02:08.The shooters have a maximum of six weeks to complete th`t work

:02:09. > :02:18.Clinton Rogers, BBC Points West in Somerset.

:02:19. > :02:23.Some residents are looking at spending a second night `way

:02:24. > :02:25.from their homes after a fire in a Bristol block of flats on the

:02:26. > :02:31.7th floor killed a 61`year`old man. A ceremony's taken place in Somerset

:02:32. > :02:34.to remember two Airmen and 21 Royal Engineers whose plane crashed

:02:35. > :02:36.70 years ago on hills They had been heading to fight at

:02:37. > :02:43.Arnhem when their glider cale down. At the same time of year,

:02:44. > :02:47.every year, for 35 years, they have come to remember 21 airbornd

:02:48. > :02:51.engineers and two glider pilots who They died in these fields

:02:52. > :02:57.near Paulton I knew one of the glider

:02:58. > :03:07.pilots that was killed here. That glider was at 2,500 fedt,

:03:08. > :03:10.coming across, So,

:03:11. > :03:22.the pilot pulled the rope off and And they had about five minttes

:03:23. > :03:28.to contemplate their death. But, you know, at 22 years old,

:03:29. > :03:32.you would know in five minutes you A special tribute

:03:33. > :03:51.for this anniversary memori`l, two Austers and a Chipmunk paying their

:03:52. > :03:54.respects, flying over Doubld Hill. A tribute to

:03:55. > :03:56.the men who are regarded here as the first casualties

:03:57. > :04:01.of Operation Market Garden. Another day full of sunshind,

:04:02. > :04:08.but is it set to stay? Plenty of sunny spells

:04:09. > :04:19.but it is going to be a chilly night Temperatures are going to t`ke

:04:20. > :04:22.a bit of a tumble. I think we could easily see five or

:04:23. > :04:26.six degrees in some rural spots These are the values

:04:27. > :04:28.for the towns and cities and I think where we do get

:04:29. > :04:32.the clear skies, we will sed a touch of mist and fog forming as well

:04:33. > :04:35.so a fairly murky night to come Now,

:04:36. > :04:37.the mist and fog fairly short`lived, we will see plenty of early spells

:04:38. > :04:40.of sunshine and temperatures should Just a bit of fair`weather cloud

:04:41. > :04:43.developing through the day `nd as a result, a fairly warm `fternoon

:04:44. > :04:46.to come tomorrow, highs of So about where they should be

:04:47. > :04:50.for the time of year. And we will keep

:04:51. > :04:52.the fairly settled weather going Plenty of sunny spells,

:04:53. > :04:56.the winds pick up, though, A little bit more in the wax

:04:57. > :05:12.of cloud but it should stay dry Good evening. It was a lovely end to

:05:13. > :05:15.the weekend for most parts of the United Kingdom, the main exception

:05:16. > :05:18.was the North East of Scotland where it was cold, wet and windy. The low

:05:19. > :05:22.responsible for that is moving away and get this high pressure moving in

:05:23. > :05:25.from the Atlantic. That will stick around pretty much all week and that

:05:26. > :05:29.will deliver some dry weather across pretty much all parts of the United

:05:30. > :05:33.Kingdom. The main headache for us forecasters will be the cloud. We

:05:34. > :05:36.still have windy conditions and quite wet in the North of Scotland

:05:37. > :05:39.but by the end of the night the rain becomes quite like an Apache.

:05:40. > :05:42.Elsewhere, a dry night, if you patches of cloud and fog and many

:05:43. > :05:47.places will be dry with clear spells. It will turn quite chilly,

:05:48. > :05:48.particularly with rural
