:01:42. > :01:48.us tonight. You have been there this afternoon. What have staff had
:01:48. > :01:52.to say? This is 4 o'clock this afternoon, when 400 staff here at
:01:52. > :01:56.the headquarters went into that meeting, and the chief executive
:01:56. > :01:59.Richard Kirk told them the news, that the company was going into
:01:59. > :02:04.administration, despite, he said, his efforts to try to come up with

:02:07. > :02:11.given a round of applause in a very emotional meeting with their staff.
:02:11. > :02:16.It is obviously going to be a very difficult time. The workers here
:02:16. > :02:20.are left in a very unenviable position, going home tonight with a
:02:20. > :02:26.view to going back to work tomorrow, the expectation as many of them to
:02:26. > :02:29.put it bluntly will find out if they have a job tomorrow. A

:02:50. > :02:55.I think the directors worked very hard to try and save the company,

:03:01. > :03:08.to run the business, but many people will lose their jobs
:03:08. > :03:13.tomorrow. The staff are very sad. This is the place we have been
:03:13. > :03:17.working so long, love so much, it is really sad. What will happen to
:03:17. > :03:21.the business now? They are going to try to sell it as a going concern,
:03:22. > :03:26.so fingers crossed. Nick, what hope is there for staff, what happens
:03:26. > :03:30.next? Well, at a lot of those pretty dire
:03:30. > :03:33.predictions from a couple of the staff you heard there, they may not
:03:33. > :03:38.necessarily come true. I have spoken to the administrators KPMG,
:03:38. > :03:42.and they have said they will try to sell it as a going concern, the
:03:42. > :03:46.stores and the business will continue to trade as normal, but as
:03:46. > :03:52.we know, Lucy, in an administration situation, generally speaking parts
:03:52. > :03:56.of the business will be closed or sold off. In a statement KPMG also
:03:56. > :04:00.said they believed there is a surplus of stores and it is
:04:00. > :04:03.difficult trading environment, but the point about this businesses,
:04:04. > :04:08.the difficulties are not necessarily the profitability of
:04:08. > :04:12.the stores. The real problem is historic debt, hundreds of millions
:04:12. > :04:16.of pounds worth of debt that stemmed from a management buyout
:04:16. > :04:19.made in 2006, and since then, despite the stores doing reasonably

:04:24. > :04:29.weighed down every year by the cost of the interest payments on that
:04:29. > :04:32.debt. That may give some hope at least to the workers that part of
:04:32. > :04:37.the business may be sold on as a going concern. This is what the
:04:37. > :04:41.administrator had to tell me. We are trying to find an answer to
:04:41. > :04:46.a buyer by in this business. If we get your commitment and Co

:05:20. > :05:24.have to say, though, the overall trend at the moment is pretty
:05:24. > :05:28.gloomy, not only have we had the news here at Peacocks which will
:05:28. > :05:32.affect the entire country, we also had no announcement this afternoon
:05:32. > :05:38.from Lloyd's that 200 job losses are due to take place in Cardiff

:20:43. > :20:50.freeze in chambers of the training camp in Poland.
:20:50. > :20:53.I think it's about minus 10 degrees out there. I'm not really one for
:20:53. > :20:57.the cold but you get your head down and get on with it.
:20:57. > :21:00.Six players, including James Hook and Mike Phillips, who play in
:21:01. > :21:04.France or England, will only be released for three days at the Cup
:21:04. > :21:08.Polish camp but Wales are confident it won't affect preparations for
:21:08. > :21:12.their first match against Ireland on February 5th.
:21:12. > :21:16.A home match against Newcastle is the prize on offer for Wrexham if
:21:16. > :21:20.they win the replay against Brighton tonight. The match goes
:21:20. > :21:25.ahead after it was called off yesterday due to a frozen pitch. A
:21:25. > :21:32.crowd of more than 9,000 is expected at the Racecourse, among
:21:32. > :21:36.them former dragons manager, Dixie McNeil, who joins me now. I'm just
:21:36. > :21:40.hearing that we can't hear from him at the moment so let me tell you
:21:40. > :21:45.that you can hear commentary of that game on BBC Radio Wales
:21:45. > :21:50.tonight and 7:15pm. Tomorrow, Chris Coleman is expected
:21:50. > :21:53.to be unveiled as the new Wales football manager. The Fulham boss
:21:53. > :21:57.has been holding talks with the Football Association of Wales this
:21:57. > :22:01.week and we will bring new developments on that appointment in
:22:01. > :22:05.tomorrow's programme. The frozen pitch frustrated Wrexham
:22:05. > :22:12.last night. No worries this evening because I think it is a bit warmer,
:22:12. > :22:16.The pitch has thawed out this evening but what a difference a day
:22:16. > :22:23.makes. Yesterday in Wrexham, the temperature really struggled to
:22:23. > :22:27.reach six Celsius. Today much milder, up to 12 Celsius. That is
:22:27. > :22:31.about five degrees above the January average. The good news is
:22:31. > :22:35.it should be dry for the game this evening but I wouldn't rule out a
:22:35. > :22:39.little rain after the final whistle. Temperatures at the moment about
:22:39. > :22:43.seven Celsius. Elsewhere this evening, cloudy and damp in the
:22:43. > :22:48.south and west. Mist and fog patches and poor visibility. During
:22:48. > :22:50.the night, the rain will become more widespread. Lighter rein in
:22:50. > :22:56.the far north-east and temperatures staying well above freezing at
:22:56. > :23:02.seven Celsius in concrete. The reason for the rain is this front,
:23:02. > :23:08.here. That will move away with colder air following along behind.
:23:08. > :23:11.This is the picture for 8am. Not a great start to the day. Rain for
:23:11. > :23:21.most of the country but not too cold with temperatures in Welsh
:23:21. > :23:22.
:23:22. > :23:25.ball around six Celsius. -- in Llandudno. During the morning, the
:23:25. > :23:30.rain will clear away and the visibility improving. A better
:23:30. > :23:33.afternoon, dry with some sunshine but a few showers are likely in
:23:33. > :23:38.parts of the north and west. The wind light at first but picking up
:23:38. > :23:40.during the afternoon, becoming strong on the coast by the evening
:23:40. > :23:45.and turning colder with temperatures between 7 and 10
:23:45. > :23:49.Celsius. In the Vale of Glamorgan, a wet start tomorrow morning but
:23:49. > :23:53.that will clear, leaving a dry afternoon with sunshine in
:23:53. > :23:58.Cowbridge. Temperatures in buried nine Celsius. Tomorrow night is
:23:58. > :24:03.cold and windy with showers in the north. A bit of snow on the hills
:24:03. > :24:06.and mountains with rain later in the night. Friday is breezy with
:24:06. > :24:11.most of the rain in the mid-Wales and the North. It should brighten
:24:11. > :24:16.up for a time with temperatures up to 10 Celsius. Saturday will be
:24:16. > :24:21.windy that strong to gale force winds, making it feel chilly.
:24:21. > :24:27.Sunday should turn out better, less windy and brighter, with a few
:24:27. > :24:29.showers and a little sunshine. Our picture is from Judy Gaskell.
:24:30. > :24:37.Visibility was poor at today but the weather will brighten up
:24:37. > :24:41.Sorry about the technical problems we had earlier trying to talk to
:24:41. > :24:46.Dixie McNeil but I'm pleased to say we can now speak to the format
:24:46. > :24:49.Wrexham manager about tonight's game, the third round FA Cup match
:24:49. > :24:54.against Brighton. What chance do you give Wrexham tonight?
:24:54. > :24:58.They've got to get out there and enjoy themselves. It is a great
:24:58. > :25:00.opportunity for them to beat a championship side. Looking forward
:25:00. > :25:04.to playing Newcastle in the next round.
:25:04. > :25:08.Given the recent financial problems of the club, how much will it mean
:25:08. > :25:11.for Wrexham to have a full house tonight and the prospect of a
:25:11. > :25:15.televised match in the 4th round if they get through? I don't think
:25:15. > :25:21.people want to talk about money in that sense that I think you are
:25:21. > :25:25.right. The perfect thing tonight would be a draw against Newcastle
:25:25. > :25:30.and a mammoth pay day at the replay. We want to get through tonight and
:25:30. > :25:36.concentrate on what we are doing. It will be a full house and I think
:25:36. > :25:39.there will be a lot of support from the crowd. Their role wheezes. We
:25:39. > :25:46.should seek what awaits them after the game this evening.
:25:46. > :25:48.And the spirit of 1992 will loom large over the match? People will
:25:48. > :25:53.hope they perform another giant- killing?
:25:53. > :26:00.There has been a lot of giant- killing accounts over the years. 20
:26:00. > :26:06.years ago, Mickey Thomas against Arsenal. We beat Newcastle 4-1
:26:06. > :26:10.before that. We look forward to doing that again. It has been a
:26:10. > :26:15.long while since the crowd has had something to cheer about and today
:26:15. > :26:19.is a chance to move forward. Finally, promotion is the goal. Do
:26:19. > :26:22.you ever worry that Wrexham could be distracted from the bigger
:26:22. > :26:27.picture? That is always an easy thing to say
:26:27. > :26:30.but I think if you are a player, you look forward to breaking away
:26:30. > :26:36.from the League and there is nothing like winning, they are
:26:36. > :26:39.having a fantastic run at the moment and I don't think they will
:26:39. > :26:44.pick up many injuries. When you of winning, you don't. It is something
:26:44. > :26:48.to look forward to. The League is the priority, everybody knows that.
:26:48. > :26:54.It went to the club any harm to carry on in the FA Cup.
:26:54. > :26:58.Thank you for joining us tonight. Our main news again: The clothing
:26:58. > :27:02.chain Peacocks has announced it has gone into administration.
:27:02. > :27:12.The company employs 400 people at its headquarters in Cardiff. The
:27:12. > :27:15.news was issued this afternoon. A devastating day in the history of
:27:16. > :27:20.this company, which has really been one of the stand-up performers for
:27:20. > :27:24.the Welsh economy over the past 15 years. It has grown hugely and
:27:24. > :27:28.transformed himself -- itself. Staff are left in limbo and would
:27:28. > :27:31.know whether they have jobs for the future. Administrators say they
:27:31. > :27:36.will try and sell this as a going concern.
