0:00:01 > 0:00:04Welcome to Wales Today. Our top story: He wants an Islamic state in
0:00:04 > 0:00:08Britain but the leader of a Muslim group at the centre of a police
0:00:08 > 0:00:10raid denies any connection with terrorism.
0:00:10 > 0:00:19No links with Muslims Against Crusades. No links with other
0:00:19 > 0:00:29terrorist organizations. Rather, we are organisation that studies and
0:00:29 > 0:00:34
0:00:34 > 0:00:37teachers Islam and we propagated to Our other headlines tonight:
0:00:37 > 0:00:42A pensioner found dead in this village in Carmarthenshire - a
0:00:42 > 0:00:45murder inquiry is underway. Also tonight - this is not a
0:00:45 > 0:00:49relaunch and we ARE delivering for Wales - the First Minister forced
0:00:49 > 0:00:55to defend Labour's record. And do we have enough bobbies on
0:00:55 > 0:00:59the beat? North Wales Police reviews its cutbacks.
0:00:59 > 0:01:03Good evening. In tonight's sport - Cardiff City look to overturn a 1-0
0:01:03 > 0:01:07deficit to book their place in the League Cup final at Wembley.
0:01:07 > 0:01:17And we look back at the good old days as Bangor City begins a new
0:01:17 > 0:01:24
0:01:24 > 0:01:27Good evening. The leader of a Muslim group which had its meeting
0:01:27 > 0:01:33raided by counter-terrorism officers last week says he wants an
0:01:33 > 0:01:43Islamic state in Britain. But Abu Hajar told Wales Today his group is
0:01:43 > 0:01:47NOT extremist and is not linked to Abu Hajar is the leader of a Muslim
0:01:47 > 0:01:50group called Supporters of Tawheed. He's been running study classes at
0:01:50 > 0:01:58a community hall in Cardiff every week for more than a year. Then
0:01:58 > 0:02:01last week it was raided. It was completely and called for.
0:02:01 > 0:02:06The police could have conducted themselves in it a different manner
0:02:06 > 0:02:10by approaching as beforehand. They know who we are. I've had meetings
0:02:10 > 0:02:13with them before in the last few months. They know we conduct these
0:02:13 > 0:02:16classes as they are open to the public.
0:02:16 > 0:02:18Mr Hajar says his group, the Supporters of Tawheed, is a
0:02:18 > 0:02:21peaceful organisation. Its website says changing society cannot be
0:02:21 > 0:02:24done via military force rather through debate instead, but it goes
0:02:24 > 0:02:27on to say it's working toward the establishment of Islam on state
0:02:27 > 0:02:31level" and that "it is only a matter of time until Islam will
0:02:31 > 0:02:38dominate the whole world. Mr Hajar says every Muslim should support
0:02:38 > 0:02:42him. Would you consider that to be an extreme view?
0:02:42 > 0:02:46Not necessarily. Just like socialist would like to see
0:02:46 > 0:02:53socialism. At the end of the day, we live in a dapper aquatic state.
0:02:53 > 0:02:57Did I have freedom of expression? - - in a democratic states. If people
0:02:57 > 0:02:59have a problem with the beliefs and be used I carry, that means they
0:02:59 > 0:03:02have a problem with democracy and freedom.
0:03:02 > 0:03:09Counter terrorism officers believe the group may be linked to this
0:03:09 > 0:03:12extremist organisation, Muslims Against Crusades, which is banned.
0:03:12 > 0:03:14Seen here on a march in London, it's on a Home Office watch list,
0:03:14 > 0:03:17and being a member is a criminal offence.
0:03:17 > 0:03:22The action we took was motivated by a real concern in the communities
0:03:22 > 0:03:29of Cardiff, the Muslim communities in particular. We've had great
0:03:29 > 0:03:31support from Cardiff County Council in doing that. We took the steps we
0:03:31 > 0:03:36took with the local community. Other Muslim groups and community
0:03:36 > 0:03:42leaders have distanced themselves from the Supporters of Tawheed.
0:03:42 > 0:03:46These people are not true Muslims. They are giving a truly bad name to
0:03:46 > 0:03:50Islam for the religions, which is going to affect every Muslim in
0:03:50 > 0:03:52Wales, in the UK and around the world. The group is now banned from
0:03:53 > 0:03:55meeting in council run premises including the hall where the raid
0:03:55 > 0:03:58happened, but says its work promoting Islam will continue.
0:03:58 > 0:04:01Three men have been arrested after the body of a 67-year-old woman was
0:04:01 > 0:04:05discovered in a Carmarthenshire village. Irene Lawless was found at
0:04:05 > 0:04:08her home on the Bryndilice Estate in Llanllwni yesterday. A 26-year-
0:04:08 > 0:04:11old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder, and two others
0:04:11 > 0:04:21aged 20 and 30 on suspicion of assisting an offender. Our reporter
0:04:21 > 0:04:28
0:04:28 > 0:04:33There is still very much a police presence here. Just behind me, you
0:04:33 > 0:04:37might see officers and scenes of crime investigators at the home of
0:04:37 > 0:04:4267-year-old Irene Lawless. The police tape is still blocking the
0:04:42 > 0:04:46cul-de-sac and the forensic tent is still in the garden. A 26-year-old
0:04:46 > 0:04:50man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. Two other men have also
0:04:50 > 0:04:55been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender, aged 20 and
0:04:55 > 0:05:0230. I've been here this afternoon and I've been following the police
0:05:02 > 0:05:06investigation. 67-year-old Irene Lawless lived alone here. The alarm
0:05:06 > 0:05:10was raised yesterday afternoon by friends concerned that they hadn't
0:05:10 > 0:05:12seen her. We have arrested three male
0:05:13 > 0:05:17suspects in connection with this inquiry. One of which has been
0:05:17 > 0:05:22arrested on suspicion of murder and two of which have been a suit --
0:05:22 > 0:05:24arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender. We would like to thank
0:05:24 > 0:05:28the local community in Carmarthenshire for their
0:05:28 > 0:05:33assistance to date and would appeal if anyone has any information,
0:05:33 > 0:05:37could they contact Dyfed Powys Police.
0:05:37 > 0:05:41Irene Lawless was well liked and a popular member of this
0:05:41 > 0:05:47Carmarthenshire community. It is a quiet community, there is
0:05:47 > 0:05:51no bother or anything here. It is a shock, a real shock.
0:05:51 > 0:05:57I first heard of the incident last night. Shocking news, to be honest.
0:05:57 > 0:06:02The whole community is in shock. The site is very quiet. It is a
0:06:02 > 0:06:07rural community. Everyone knows each other. She has been living in
0:06:07 > 0:06:11this house for about 20 years. Well-loved in the community. It is
0:06:11 > 0:06:14just a shock, to be honest. We can't understand what's happened
0:06:14 > 0:06:17and I want to express my deepest sympathy for family, friends and
0:06:17 > 0:06:21neighbours who have lived next to her for many years.
0:06:21 > 0:06:27Late this afternoon, the body was taken away. A Home Office
0:06:27 > 0:06:30pathologist is continuing the investigation.
0:06:30 > 0:06:34Dyfed Powys Police have been supporting and liaising with the
0:06:34 > 0:06:38family but they said they are keen to speak to anyone who has got any
0:06:38 > 0:06:41information about what might have happened. They are looking for
0:06:41 > 0:06:50witnesses or anyone with any information about what happened
0:06:50 > 0:06:53over the last few days. A man in North Wales has been
0:06:53 > 0:07:00speaking to a reporter about the journey he took to take his sick
0:07:00 > 0:07:04wife to the Dignitas clinic in Switzerland.
0:07:04 > 0:07:09I was confident that nothing would happen. But I wouldn't be
0:07:09 > 0:07:14prosecuted. Even if I'd known I would be prosecuted, I would have
0:07:14 > 0:07:21done it anyway. For somebody who was more vulnerable than I, a
0:07:21 > 0:07:25little old lady taking her husband, or somebody taking their child,
0:07:25 > 0:07:30their youngster there, it would be awful to wait 18 months to find out
0:07:30 > 0:07:33if they would be prosecuted or not. Although I was quite pleased with
0:07:33 > 0:07:40the weight the police handled it, I think the whole process could have
0:07:40 > 0:07:44been shorter. The only thing that I would like is the opportunity to do
0:07:44 > 0:07:48that in this country, rather than have to go to Switzerland or
0:07:48 > 0:07:54Holland or whatever. I am quite certain that a lot of those who go
0:07:54 > 0:08:00to Switzerland would decide to live for longer and even a not take
0:08:00 > 0:08:05their own lives if they could have that opportunity at home. It was
0:08:05 > 0:08:08difficult because I knew what was in store for her. It was a loser
0:08:08 > 0:08:15lose situation. If I didn't go away with her, she would have gone
0:08:15 > 0:08:21herself. She will be determined lady. It was all very surreal until
0:08:21 > 0:08:27she died. Even taking the drink was not real until she died and then,
0:08:27 > 0:08:33to leave that place by myself, and then to catch the aeroplane by
0:08:33 > 0:08:42myself, was very upsetting and to arrive in a cold house back in
0:08:42 > 0:08:46Wales was very upsetting. That was the worst part.
0:08:46 > 0:08:49Test drilling for gas in the Vale of Glamorgan is to be the subject
0:08:49 > 0:08:51of a public inquiry The Vale council rejected an application by
0:08:51 > 0:08:54Bridgend-based Coastal Oil and Gas for exploratory drilling for shale
0:08:54 > 0:08:57gas at Llandow last year. The company appealed, now an inquiry
0:08:57 > 0:09:00will be held in May. A former matron at a nursing home
0:09:00 > 0:09:03in Gwynedd cleared of manslaughter after an elderly patient choked on
0:09:03 > 0:09:07his food eight years ago has been struck off the nursing register for
0:09:07 > 0:09:09lying about her qualifications. Avola Almond, formerly Avola
0:09:09 > 0:09:13Humphreys, falsely claimed to be qualified as a state registered
0:09:13 > 0:09:18nurse and had continued to work at the Bodawen Nursing home while she
0:09:18 > 0:09:25was unregistered. The Nursing and Midwifery Council said she'd put
0:09:25 > 0:09:27patients safety at risk. The First Minister Carwyn Jones has
0:09:27 > 0:09:31hit back at criticism from opposition parties that his
0:09:31 > 0:09:33government isn't making a difference to peoples lives. Eight
0:09:33 > 0:09:43months on from the Assembly elections, the Labour leader claims
0:09:43 > 0:09:44
0:09:44 > 0:09:49significant progress has already May last year and Carwyn Jones had
0:09:49 > 0:09:52plenty to celebrate. Welsh Labour had won enough seats in the
0:09:52 > 0:09:56Assembly elections to form a government, with Mr Jones as First
0:09:56 > 0:10:01Minister. The opposition parties say Labour put their feet up and
0:10:01 > 0:10:05haven't done much since. Today, Mr Jones gathered the media at party
0:10:05 > 0:10:09HQ for bacon sandwiches and morning coffee. It was time, you said, to
0:10:09 > 0:10:14hit back. We've been saying to people that we
0:10:14 > 0:10:18have the ideas. We have a detailed manifesto and we are implementing
0:10:18 > 0:10:21promises, taking them forward for the people of Wales. The other
0:10:21 > 0:10:25parties are empty. Yes, they criticised, that's because they
0:10:25 > 0:10:30have nothing to offer themselves. Labour is pressing ahead with
0:10:30 > 0:10:34extending GP opening hours, putting more community officers on the beat
0:10:34 > 0:10:37and spending more on schools. In the Assembly, more reforms were
0:10:37 > 0:10:42announced today. Those who use social services will have more
0:10:42 > 0:10:46control about the care they get and there are plans for one agency to
0:10:46 > 0:10:49run adoption services. But that isn't enough for the opposition
0:10:49 > 0:10:51parties for his top I don't think they know the meaning of the word
0:10:51 > 0:10:56delivery. And a Welsh Labour, we become the
0:10:56 > 0:11:02poorest part of the UK. The health service is having 75 million taken
0:11:02 > 0:11:07out of it. That is not delivering, that is robbing the people of Wales.
0:11:07 > 0:11:11Labour say today doesn't -- today's event wasn't a relaunch. The First
0:11:11 > 0:11:15Minister hopes that by turning the focus back on to policy, he can
0:11:15 > 0:11:18regain the initiative and prove he hasn't run out of energy or ideas.
0:11:18 > 0:11:22Welsh MP David Davies has likened the UK to the Titanic, saying it's
0:11:22 > 0:11:25now just a question of how long it takes to sink. The chairman of the
0:11:25 > 0:11:28Welsh affairs committee was taking evidence from a commission set up
0:11:28 > 0:11:31to examine the possibility of devolving more powers to Wales. He
0:11:31 > 0:11:34told its chairman Paul Silk the commission should issue its report
0:11:34 > 0:11:40calling for further devolution now, and save taxpayers the 1 million
0:11:40 > 0:11:48cost. We'll be live at the Scottish
0:11:48 > 0:11:53Parliament tomorrow night. They will be discussing independence.
0:11:53 > 0:11:57Here's our Political Editor Betsan Powys.
0:11:57 > 0:12:01Tomorrow, Alex Salmond will set out his plans for a referendum on
0:12:01 > 0:12:05independence for Scotland. His plans, but what might they mean for
0:12:05 > 0:12:14us in Wales? I will have the latest from the Scottish Parliament on
0:12:14 > 0:12:17tomorrow night's programme. 90-years-old and still going strong,
0:12:17 > 0:12:27the Urdd, Wales' largest children's organisation sets out its plans for
0:12:27 > 0:12:27
0:12:27 > 0:12:32a new generation. And a new home for Bangor City football club as
0:12:32 > 0:12:35citizens take up residence at this stadium by the sea.
0:12:35 > 0:12:37Are there enough police covering rural North Wales? The Police
0:12:37 > 0:12:40Federation, which represents officers, has told BBC Wales that
0:12:40 > 0:12:45some areas aren't getting the policing they'd expect following a
0:12:45 > 0:12:55reorganisation last year. North Wales Police are reviewing the
0:12:55 > 0:12:56
0:12:56 > 0:13:00changes. Chris Dearden has the story.
0:13:00 > 0:13:04The new system back in May last year. These are the men and women
0:13:04 > 0:13:09who respond when you dial the emergency services. Eight months
0:13:09 > 0:13:15ago, North Wales police changed the way they work in an attempt to save
0:13:15 > 0:13:1815 million over four years. Emergency response officers are now
0:13:18 > 0:13:23based in nine key police stations around the north of Wales. Police
0:13:23 > 0:13:28call them hubs but in some areas, it has led to concern that officers
0:13:28 > 0:13:32are spread two-tiered -- too thinly. On some weekends over the past
0:13:32 > 0:13:37three or four months, they have been fewer than three police
0:13:37 > 0:13:44officers on duty for the whole of the old county of Meirionnydd. Just
0:13:44 > 0:13:47imagine if a public order occurrence certainly happened, what
0:13:47 > 0:13:52would happen? There would be absolute and a key.
0:13:52 > 0:13:55This is one place where people have also expressed concern. What do
0:13:55 > 0:13:59people in the town think of the service they are getting from the
0:14:00 > 0:14:04police? Reasonable, as far as the normal
0:14:04 > 0:14:10run of things is concerned. Excellent. Can't fault them.
0:14:10 > 0:14:12They are never where you want them to be. They will be elsewhere there
0:14:12 > 0:14:16when there is something going on here.
0:14:16 > 0:14:20Those aren't the only worries. The Police Federation that the rent
0:14:20 > 0:14:25officers from those on the beat up to chief inspectors.
0:14:25 > 0:14:28The problems tend to be when the arrest of offenders, the
0:14:28 > 0:14:31prosecution of offenders, they are the areas we start to see gaps
0:14:31 > 0:14:36appearing. The Police Federation is also
0:14:36 > 0:14:39worried that cuts are have left officers spending too much time on
0:14:40 > 0:14:45paperwork. It says the new system hasn't been a complete disaster and
0:14:45 > 0:14:49others agree. What I will say is that there seems
0:14:49 > 0:14:53to be no evidence on the ground that the policing service has
0:14:53 > 0:14:57deteriorated as a result of the changes implemented last May.
0:14:57 > 0:15:01When it comes to emergency calls, officers' representatives say the
0:15:01 > 0:15:04police are still getting there on time. The force is currently
0:15:05 > 0:15:10looking at its new system and do to make an announcement on changes
0:15:10 > 0:15:14He died trying to rescue his friend. Now it's emerged Lewis Darroch's
0:15:14 > 0:15:17name is being put forward for a posthumous bravery award. An
0:15:17 > 0:15:20inquest was held today into his death and that of Callum MacKay.
0:15:20 > 0:15:23They both drowned in a tragedy on the coast of Anglesey last summer.
0:15:23 > 0:15:31The coroner recorded verdicts of accidental death. Roger Pinney
0:15:31 > 0:15:35reports. This speech on Anglesey is where
0:15:35 > 0:15:38the two young men died. Callum Mackay, the inquest heard he was
0:15:39 > 0:15:44determined to go swimming despite stormy seas and the efforts of
0:15:44 > 0:15:49friends to dissuade him. And Lewis Darroch, he dived in to try and
0:15:49 > 0:15:54save Callum Mackay, only to save his life as well. At the hearing,
0:15:54 > 0:15:57the families were told that Lewis Darroch's selfless act of heroism
0:15:57 > 0:16:03has prompted his name to be put forward for a posthumous bravery
0:16:03 > 0:16:09award. We just want to pay a huge tribute to Lewis Darroch for his
0:16:10 > 0:16:15unstinting bravery and not even considering his own safety but just
0:16:15 > 0:16:24going in and trying to rescue our son. He has been put forward for a
0:16:24 > 0:16:29posthumous bravery awards. Is that justified? Absolutely. The tragedy
0:16:29 > 0:16:35led to a major search. The two young men had gone to the day with
0:16:35 > 0:16:39friends. Karen macro climbed into the surf from rocks. He's won
0:16:39 > 0:16:44comfortably to begin with but got into trouble trying to climb out.
0:16:44 > 0:16:48Lewis Darroch went in after him but could not get out either. The
0:16:49 > 0:16:53coroner said that at times we should recognise acts of bravery.
0:16:53 > 0:16:58Lewis Darroch dived into the sea he to rescue his friend. He did not
0:16:58 > 0:17:01consider his own safety, he said. It's 90 years since Sir Ifan ab
0:17:01 > 0:17:04Owen Edwards called on Wales' children to join a brand new
0:17:04 > 0:17:07organisation - the Urdd. To celebrate that birthday, it's
0:17:07 > 0:17:17launched ambitious targets for the next ten years to get thousands
0:17:17 > 0:17:20
0:17:20 > 0:17:23more children along to eisteddfodau. For 90 years, the Urdd has given
0:17:23 > 0:17:33the children of Wales and beyond an opportunity to socialise, travel
0:17:33 > 0:17:37
0:17:37 > 0:17:40Things have come a long way since Sir Ifan ab Owen Edwards
0:17:40 > 0:17:46established the Urdd. He was concerned children weren't using
0:17:46 > 0:17:51Welsh any more. 90 years on, and the movement's membership has
0:17:51 > 0:17:55reached 50,000. It also runs three residential centres, including this
0:17:55 > 0:17:58one in Cardigan Bay. It's quiet here today but, on Friday, a
0:17:58 > 0:18:01special birthday party will be held here in Llangrannog, where the
0:18:01 > 0:18:06First Minister will join members of Sir Ifan's family to mark the
0:18:06 > 0:18:09occasion. But as well as giving cause for celebration, this
0:18:09 > 0:18:12birthday has also given the Urdd an opportunity to look forward and,
0:18:12 > 0:18:19today, the movement has revealed its hopes and aims for the next 10
0:18:19 > 0:18:23years. During that time it wants the number of children competing in
0:18:23 > 0:18:26their local Urdd eisteddfod to increase by 10,000. It also hopes
0:18:26 > 0:18:36to see visitors to the National Urdd Eisteddfod pass the 100,000
0:18:36 > 0:18:38
0:18:38 > 0:18:43mark and to double the number of young sports volunteers. It is not
0:18:43 > 0:18:51overly ambitious. Everybody is very busy these days, especially parents.
0:18:51 > 0:18:54However, the children are the future. I don't have time to
0:18:54 > 0:19:00volunteer more. Perhaps when the children are older but not at the
0:19:00 > 0:19:04moment. It has always been an ambitious organisation and these
0:19:04 > 0:19:07challenge -- targets are set to challenge us as an organisation but
0:19:07 > 0:19:13also to make sure we respond to the needs and aspirations of young
0:19:13 > 0:19:15people. 90 years after Sir Ifan first called on the country's
0:19:15 > 0:19:18children join his brand new movement, the Urdd hopes its new
0:19:18 > 0:19:21goals will help keep the flag flying for many more birthdays to
0:19:21 > 0:19:24come. Cardiff City stand on the brink of
0:19:24 > 0:19:27another Wembley final tonight. The second leg of their Carling Cup
0:19:27 > 0:19:32semi-final kicks off in an hour and Ashleigh Crowter is pitch-side for
0:19:32 > 0:19:35us tonight. Good evening. Cardiff City are
0:19:35 > 0:19:39looking to reach their third Wembley final in four years here
0:19:39 > 0:19:43tonight. They'll have to overturn a 1-0 deficit against Crystal Palace
0:19:43 > 0:19:46if they're to reach the Carling Cup final. They've never done that
0:19:46 > 0:19:49before. The Crystal Palace manager Dougie Freedman's been doing his
0:19:49 > 0:19:52best to wind up Cardiff, saying they'll be scared stiff because
0:19:52 > 0:19:58they've lost so many big play-off matches in recent seasons. Here's
0:19:58 > 0:20:04what Malky Mackay had to say in response.
0:20:04 > 0:20:10I look after my own club. It is not my style to talk about the history
0:20:10 > 0:20:18of other clubs. I have got enough going on here at the club to be
0:20:18 > 0:20:23dealing with. Needless to say, part of the team talk is done.
0:20:23 > 0:20:26I am joined by the former England defender Martin Keown. Does Dougie
0:20:26 > 0:20:31Freedman have a point? Will be Cardiff fans and players be
0:20:31 > 0:20:35terrified because of the disappointment they have had?
0:20:35 > 0:20:39not relevant because this group of players is brand new and a brand
0:20:39 > 0:20:44new manager. If I heard those comments, I would be really fired
0:20:44 > 0:20:48up. He has been resting his players. Cardiff are going after promotion
0:20:48 > 0:20:53as well and they will be used of that the big games. I expect
0:20:53 > 0:20:57Cardiff to be winners and go through. Cardiff are one goal down.
0:20:57 > 0:21:02When you come into a second leg with a deficit, how do you approach
0:21:02 > 0:21:06it? You have got to go for it but to do not want to concede. To
0:21:06 > 0:21:10Crystal Palace sit-in and draw Cardiff City in? I think this
0:21:10 > 0:21:15stadium will be rocking tonight. I have been here a few times this
0:21:15 > 0:21:18season already and the fans have been superbly. Cardiff, I feel, are
0:21:19 > 0:21:22looking good. There is a lot of pressure on the team but they have
0:21:22 > 0:21:26got the better players. They know what they need to do. They need to
0:21:26 > 0:21:32get back on level terms are first and it could well go to extra time
0:21:32 > 0:21:36at. Thank you very much. You can see the game live on BBC Two
0:21:37 > 0:21:40tonight. The programme starts at 7:30pm.
0:21:41 > 0:21:44There are a few matches of interest elsewhere. Top-of-the table Wrexham
0:21:44 > 0:21:54face Forest Green in the Conference. While Newport County are playing in
0:21:54 > 0:21:58
0:21:58 > 0:22:02the second round of the FA Trophy at Worksop.
0:22:02 > 0:22:06It is also a very special night for one of our Welsh Premier clubs.
0:22:06 > 0:22:10Thanks, Ash. Bangor City are preparing to kick their first ball
0:22:10 > 0:22:13in a new home after moving from their Farrar Road ground to the
0:22:13 > 0:22:16Nantporth Stadium on the banks of the Menai Strait. A new era starts
0:22:16 > 0:22:21tonight, but let's look back at the history of Bangor's former home.
0:22:21 > 0:22:24Farrar Road. For almost a hundred years, the venue where a tiny club
0:22:24 > 0:22:27took on some footballing giants. AC Napoli lost 2-0 here in the
0:22:27 > 0:22:37European Cup Winners Cup in 1962. The same year saw a packed crowd
0:22:37 > 0:22:44
0:22:44 > 0:22:48getting carried away as Bangor beat Wrexham in the Welsh Cup. Bangor
0:22:48 > 0:22:50City responded by attacking again. The ensuing years saw 11
0:22:50 > 0:22:54appearances in European competitions for the club, though
0:22:54 > 0:22:57the ground was too small to host them. After an emotional final game
0:22:57 > 0:23:04last December, Bangor City looked forward to a bigger ground which
0:23:04 > 0:23:09they hope will meet UEFA requirements. We still have one
0:23:09 > 0:23:14last bridge to cross. We still need some funding to a fair shot at the
0:23:14 > 0:23:18seating on the far side and behind the goal to bring the stadium ever
0:23:18 > 0:23:23to the 1,500 seats to meet the requirements. Hopefully we will
0:23:23 > 0:23:26achieve that funding soon. millionaire had expressed an
0:23:26 > 0:23:31interest in buying the club a few years ago after studying in the
0:23:31 > 0:23:34city. The old ground is being demolished to make way for a
0:23:34 > 0:23:41supermarket. Farrar Road may have shut up shop, but Nantporth could
0:23:41 > 0:23:47well provide many more memories. Bangor City are playing tonight. I
0:23:47 > 0:23:53am joined by the club secretary. How are you feeling? Stressed, to
0:23:53 > 0:23:58be honest. It has been a long time coming but the facilities are first
0:23:58 > 0:24:08class. It is a credit to the League. A pig that you must go to Watkin
0:24:08 > 0:24:10
0:24:10 > 0:24:15Jones who built this Forest. -- a lot of credit must go. It must be
0:24:15 > 0:24:19great for the players arriving tonight. We had training here on
0:24:19 > 0:24:23Saturday. You come down tonight and the lights are on and it is very
0:24:23 > 0:24:29exciting. I have been involved with the players and they are really up
0:24:29 > 0:24:34for the game. But the officials and players are also excited. Both sets
0:24:34 > 0:24:44of teams are really excited about this game. You have only been here
0:24:44 > 0:24:50
0:24:50 > 0:24:54one day and you have already attracted big names. Yes, we have
0:24:54 > 0:24:59had a number of big names helping has arranged this friendly. We have
0:24:59 > 0:25:05got Wigan Athletic at home up. The last game at Wigan played in non-
0:25:05 > 0:25:14League football was Wigan Athletic against Bangor City. Perfect. Thank
0:25:15 > 0:25:18you very much. Let's get the weather forecast now.
0:25:18 > 0:25:21A big change in the weather today. The reason for the rain - a warm
0:25:21 > 0:25:24front which moved eastwards across Britain. That has introduced milder
0:25:24 > 0:25:27and moister air from the Atlantic. In Colwyn Bay today, the
0:25:27 > 0:25:30temperature reached 11 degrees Celsius. Four degrees above the
0:25:30 > 0:25:33average. And football fans won't need too many layers in Cardiff
0:25:33 > 0:25:39this evening. The temperature around 10 degrees Celsius with some
0:25:39 > 0:25:42drizzle. Elsewhere tonight, cloudy and damp. Mist and hill fog as well.
0:25:42 > 0:25:44Drier in the northeast and along the border with temperatures well
0:25:44 > 0:25:47above freezing. Tomorrow's chart shows a cold front approaching
0:25:47 > 0:25:50Ireland. Ahead of that, mild south- westerly winds. Tomorrow is St.
0:25:50 > 0:25:53Dwynwen's Day. Dwynwen is the patron saint of Welsh lovers. If
0:25:53 > 0:25:56you're planning a romantic stroll tomorrow, I can't promise much, if
0:25:56 > 0:25:59any, sunshine. Cloudy and windy on Ynys Llanddwyn tomorrow morning and
0:25:59 > 0:26:06that goes for the rest of the country. A little rain and drizzle
0:26:06 > 0:26:09in the south and west. Some mist and hill fog as well. However, the
0:26:09 > 0:26:13east and northeast will be dry with temperatures in Bala around seven
0:26:13 > 0:26:16degrees Celsius. Not a brilliant day tomorrow but some places will
0:26:16 > 0:26:19fair better than others. The north coast, Flintshire, Monmouthshire
0:26:19 > 0:26:24and the Marches will be drier and brighter with the odd glimpse of
0:26:24 > 0:26:29sunshine. Top temperatures around 10 or 11 degrees Celsius and breezy.
0:26:29 > 0:26:33The south-westerly wind strengthening during the afternoon.
0:26:33 > 0:26:36Up to gale force in the north-west with gusts over 50mph on Anglesey.
0:26:36 > 0:26:40Tomorrow evening, a cold front will bring a spell of heavy rain and
0:26:40 > 0:26:46gusty winds, followed by clearer weather and showers. Temperatures
0:26:46 > 0:26:49dropping with a risk of icy patches. Thursday colder and showery. Some
0:26:49 > 0:26:53of the showers heavy with hail and sleet. Snow on the hills and
0:26:53 > 0:26:58mountains. Friday will be drier and brighter. More in the way of
0:26:58 > 0:27:01sunshine. The wind easing as well. At the moment, Saturday looks dry.
0:27:01 > 0:27:06Some sunshine, frost and a few fog patches. Our picture is from Jim
0:27:06 > 0:27:10Trance. Porthkerry Park in Barry. A great place for a picnic.
0:27:10 > 0:27:13The main news again from the BBC: One of the UK's eight oil
0:27:13 > 0:27:17refineries has gone bust, prompting fears that it could lead to a
0:27:17 > 0:27:27disruption in fuel supplies. More than 800 jobs at the plant in
0:27:27 > 0:27:29
0:27:29 > 0:27:33Coryton, Essex, are now at risk. You can find us on Facebook and
