:00:07. > :00:12.Good evening, welcome to Wales Today him at the Olympic Park. The

:00:12. > :00:17.first medal for one of how old Welsh Olympians as Wrexham's Chris

:00:17. > :00:20.Bartley wins silver. It goes down to the last few

:00:20. > :00:24.strokes in the men's and lightweight four. Have they missed

:00:24. > :00:29.out on gold. After the race, complete exhaustion. Every last

:00:29. > :00:33.effort to win a medal. I do not remember much of the last

:00:33. > :00:37.500, to be honest! I knew we had got a medal, had I was pleased to

:00:37. > :00:47.be on the podium. Back at his old school, a nervous

:00:47. > :00:56.

:00:56. > :01:02.Tonight's other headlines, a 15- year-old boy has died after falling

:01:02. > :01:06.off rocks near Llangennith beach. He was fishing with his brother.

:01:06. > :01:11.One of a haul of illegal weapons seized that cos if -- Cardiff

:01:11. > :01:16.Airport. Passengers said many were bought as souvenirs.

:01:16. > :01:20.You are now going to be issued with a 75 fine.

:01:20. > :01:26.More enforcement officers on the street as a council crackdown on

:01:26. > :01:36.littering and dog mess. It is disgusting if you leave it.

:01:36. > :01:39.

:01:39. > :01:44.Welcome to Wales -- Wales Today at the Olympic Park. Day six of the

:01:44. > :01:50.Games, and Team GB are climbing up the medal table. One Welsh manager,

:01:50. > :01:55.he has certainly paid his part today. -- one Welshman. It happened

:01:55. > :01:59.on the water at Eton Dorney, about 40 miles west of us here. Wrexham's

:01:59. > :02:03.Chris Bartley won silver in the lightweight four. It was a

:02:03. > :02:07.thrilling final, and they missed out on gold by just a quarter of a

:02:07. > :02:15.second. It was a race that certainly pushed them to the very

:02:15. > :02:20.limit. The moment Chris Bartley will never

:02:20. > :02:25.forget. Years of training rewarded with an Olympic medal. Gold was the

:02:25. > :02:29.aim, but after a brutal race, the Roma from Wrexham had to settle for

:02:29. > :02:36.silver. It has not sunk in. I am happy, my

:02:36. > :02:39.dad had a bulge flag up there. I do not really know what to say. We are

:02:39. > :02:44.proud of ourselves, Prada outperformance, and the support has

:02:44. > :02:48.been amazing. With world champions Australia and

:02:48. > :02:51.Olympic champions Denmark in the running, a close race was expected.

:02:51. > :02:55.Britain struggled early on, but Chris and his team-mates fought

:02:55. > :02:59.back. As the fishing line approached, any of the four boats

:02:59. > :03:06.in front could have got gold. Just centimetres the difference between

:03:06. > :03:10.them. More than 30,000 fans cheered them over the line. Elation for

:03:10. > :03:14.South Africa, exhaustion for the British boat.

:03:14. > :03:18.What a moment for Chris Bartley. Relatively unknown before these

:03:18. > :03:21.games, but now a hero of GB with a silver medal in front of a home

:03:21. > :03:26.crowd. Chris had pushed his body to the

:03:26. > :03:31.limit. He had to be held from the boat.

:03:31. > :03:35.I felt incredibly sick and had a banging headache! I gave it all I

:03:35. > :03:39.had physically. It took me just a while to recover, and it has not

:03:39. > :03:45.sunk in yet that I have got a medal at a home games. It is amazing,

:03:45. > :03:49.really. And a present from the podium from

:03:49. > :03:56.the pet -- for the parents. Because he was quite small, he was

:03:56. > :04:04.asked by one of the coaches at the school, would you like to be a Cox?

:04:04. > :04:07.And he said if he was going to be a Cox, he would not do with!

:04:07. > :04:13.I have been to so many rivers in the middle of winter, added has

:04:13. > :04:18.come to this. It is the icing on the cake, super.

:04:18. > :04:23.And there was plenty of support back where he learned to row. This

:04:23. > :04:29.is Chris and another famous former pupil, Tom James, 12 years ago at

:04:29. > :04:32.school in Chester. He did really well, because you

:04:32. > :04:37.wondered if they were going to do it, and they pulled it out of the

:04:37. > :04:39.back. It was such a close race, such an exciting event to watch.

:04:39. > :04:46.It makes you think you can get there, because other people have

:04:46. > :04:53.done it from where you are. No such celebrations for Victoria

:04:53. > :04:59.Thornley in the women's 8. She had barely set foot in a boat for years

:04:59. > :05:03.ago, but finished outside the medals. -- four ideas.

:05:03. > :05:07.He would not bet against Tom James getting a medal this weekend, after

:05:07. > :05:11.he booked a place in Saturday's final. Britain finished ahead of

:05:11. > :05:16.favourites Australia, but on set this will have no bearing on the

:05:16. > :05:20.fight for gold in two days. -- but on said.

:05:20. > :05:25.I think the Australians are very smart. They will come back faster,

:05:25. > :05:29.and we have got to make sure we are faster as well. It is tough racing,

:05:29. > :05:33.it is close, it would not be easy. We cannot be complacent, there is a

:05:33. > :05:37.tough job ahead of us and we have got to be relaxed about it, but

:05:37. > :05:42.focused and confident. But today belongs to Chris Bartley,

:05:42. > :05:46.the first Welsh athlete to win a medal at the 2012 Olympic Games.

:05:46. > :05:51.We were all left pretty breathless after the race, and watching the

:05:51. > :05:55.action was five-times Olympic gold medallist says Steve Redgrave. He

:05:55. > :06:01.had tipped the crew for gold, and afterwards, we caught up with him.

:06:01. > :06:05.-- Sir Steve Redgrave. They were favourites, so they will

:06:05. > :06:10.be disappointed. But they have got the silver medal, and that is a

:06:10. > :06:16.fantastic result. It could have been gold, silver or bronze. Any

:06:16. > :06:22.one of those boats could have won. They should be very proud of a

:06:22. > :06:25.silver medal, it is a fantastic result.

:06:25. > :06:28.If they had gone off a little bit quicker or pushed a little bit

:06:28. > :06:35.harder, although I do not think they could have, I think they put

:06:35. > :06:38.everything they had been to it. Chris was struggling after the race.

:06:38. > :06:42.You know what he has gone through. Talk about the pain you go through

:06:42. > :06:46.after the race. It is 12 years since I was racing

:06:46. > :06:51.properly, and you block it out. It must be like women with childbirth

:06:51. > :06:56.in some ways, it never seems that bad, but then you come back into

:06:56. > :07:01.that situation, and you think, that was not very nice! Your legs of

:07:01. > :07:06.form of lactic acid. As soon as you cross the line, they give up on you.

:07:06. > :07:10.Your heart is pounding, your lungs are burning. It is really a very

:07:10. > :07:15.unpleasant time. A word about Tom James. He finished

:07:15. > :07:19.ahead of Australia to reach the final. Are they favourites now?

:07:19. > :07:24.I would not put them as favourites now. They are level with Australia.

:07:24. > :07:28.I thought that would be a decisive moment, whoever won that race would

:07:28. > :07:33.put themselves as favourites and probably go on to win. But it is

:07:33. > :07:36.very cagey in some ways. They almost raced opposite race plans to

:07:36. > :07:42.what they normally do, so what we have learnt today is nothing. We

:07:42. > :07:46.have to wait till Saturday. Chris's from Wrexham, but the

:07:46. > :07:52.school he went to in Chester, they were gathered screaming buried out

:07:52. > :07:57.before him today. Matthew Richards is there for us tonight. How has

:07:57. > :08:04.the silver medal gone down? Up I am sure you saw the pictures.

:08:04. > :08:14.It is a damp evening here at -- in Chester, they were cheering on

:08:14. > :08:16.

:08:16. > :08:22.Chris Bartley earlier today. That is Tom James's but behind us. It

:08:22. > :08:28.was pretty exciting, wasn't it? It was amazing. The kids loved it,

:08:28. > :08:32.the coaches love did, everyone loved it.

:08:32. > :08:38.Running is a big part of your school. How important is it to have

:08:38. > :08:41.those guys to look up to? It is brilliant. We have had nine

:08:41. > :08:46.people going to juniors and a lot of people representing their

:08:46. > :08:50.country. We probably have 20 students in international

:08:50. > :08:56.competition, at 15 of those are brothers. Today we had a session

:08:56. > :09:01.for our new rulers, unprecedented numbers. We are hoping to get them

:09:01. > :09:05.all back next term with their medals.

:09:05. > :09:09.You have got four members of Team GB who went to the school, have

:09:09. > :09:14.achieved? Do you see applications going up?

:09:14. > :09:17.It would be greater they do! It must be so inspirational to have

:09:17. > :09:21.them, everybody in Chester now knows their names and know that

:09:21. > :09:27.they buy into our school, they learnt on this river in Chester and

:09:27. > :09:30.we are so proud of them. The excitement has not finished, we

:09:30. > :09:35.have Tom James competing on Saturday, and potentially more

:09:36. > :09:40.excitement at the school. Plenty of excitement on the water

:09:40. > :09:46.in the running today, and let me tell you, it has been thrilling in

:09:46. > :09:50.the red -- the velodrome tonight. The track cycling has got under way,

:09:50. > :09:54.and Geraint Thomas has made an incredible start to his games. In

:09:54. > :09:58.the last hour, his team pursuit quartet broke the world record in

:09:58. > :10:02.qualifying, justified their position as favourites for gold. He

:10:02. > :10:06.is going for back-to- back gold medals after winning in the same

:10:06. > :10:13.event in Beijing. The final, just say you know, he is about this time

:10:13. > :10:18.tomorrow night. One more bit of news for you tonight. A man has

:10:18. > :10:23.been arrested after an abusive message was sent to Tom Daley. It

:10:23. > :10:27.was sent on Twitter, added follows the suspension of footballer Daniel

:10:27. > :10:32.Thomas by Port Talbot Town FC. The man arrested have been interviewed

:10:32. > :10:36.by South Wales Police and arrested on bail. We will be speaking to a

:10:36. > :10:46.former Olympian, you then Thomas, a little later, and getting his views

:10:46. > :10:46.

:10:46. > :10:53.on the track and field, which The a 15-year-old boy has died

:10:53. > :10:58.after falling off rocks Nick Llangennith on the Gower last night.

:10:58. > :11:02.-- near Llangennith. They were airlifted to Morriston Hospital in

:11:02. > :11:07.Swansea, where the younger of the two brothers was pronounced dead.

:11:07. > :11:12.Caroline Evans is in Llangennith for us.

:11:12. > :11:17.A beautiful evening down here, people enjoying the water tonight,

:11:17. > :11:22.a very different picture from last night. Then, the wind was much

:11:22. > :11:27.stronger, the waves much higher. Fishing rods were out again today

:11:27. > :11:31.at the spot where the teenager was swept out to sea. Along with his

:11:31. > :11:37.21-year-old brother, who jumped in after him.

:11:37. > :11:41.I actually saw just the helicopter coming down, and the coastguard was

:11:41. > :11:47.here. Hearing the noise coming along here, I thought someone had

:11:47. > :11:49.jumped, which is very unpleasant. Two friends who were also fishing

:11:49. > :11:53.here ran up the cliff to raise the alarm.

:11:53. > :11:58.This is a popular place with holidaymakers. It is surrounded by

:11:58. > :12:01.holiday parks, but like all coastal areas, there are treacherous bogs,

:12:01. > :12:06.and local people say they would not have the vision on those rocks last

:12:06. > :12:09.night in those conditions. -- they would not have been fishing.

:12:09. > :12:14.The emergency response was swift, but too late to save the life of

:12:14. > :12:20.the teenager. It was very rough. The wind had

:12:20. > :12:26.picked up in the afternoon, and the swell was about three or four

:12:26. > :12:30.metres. He was distressed, knowing that his younger brother was out

:12:30. > :12:36.there, but he was conscious enough to give us the information, had we

:12:36. > :12:40.continued our search. Unfortunately, we were not able to get there in

:12:40. > :12:44.time. This is a popular holiday spot. The

:12:44. > :12:48.family of the teenager are said to have been staying at one of the

:12:48. > :12:53.campsite which dot the coastline. But they may not have known the

:12:53. > :12:57.area when enough to recognise the potential dangers.

:12:57. > :13:01.Not many people go fishing there. The people who come from another

:13:01. > :13:06.country and have not been here before, they sometimes do. It is

:13:06. > :13:10.very sad. A tragic and anxious time for the

:13:10. > :13:16.family involved, and a tough time for the rescuers. They are all

:13:16. > :13:22.volunteers, and some new recruits. I have been speaking with someone

:13:22. > :13:26.who knows this area very well this evening, had he told me that they -

:13:26. > :13:31.- they used to to be a warning sign of where the incident happened. He

:13:31. > :13:35.said that when that signage had to be replaced because of age, a new

:13:35. > :13:42.sign was put up in a different part of the beach, in his view, the

:13:42. > :13:46.wrong part of the beach. That is something I will be looking into.

:13:46. > :13:50.A swimmer has died after getting into difficulties in the sea at

:13:50. > :13:53.Aberystwyth this morning. The alarm was raised after he was spotted by

:13:53. > :14:01.a member of the public who was staying in a hotel overlooking the

:14:01. > :14:04.seafront. It has been said that he was a rabbi from north London. A

:14:04. > :14:07.lot of Jewish families holiday in Aberystwyth each summer.

:14:08. > :14:11.Ferries and planes were missed and a trial had to be adjourned for the

:14:11. > :14:17.day. Now business leaders say steps must be taken to ensure there is no

:14:17. > :14:20.repeat of yesterday's traffic chaos in north-west Wales. The A55 was

:14:21. > :14:30.closed for 12 hours after a lorry overturned. The Welsh government

:14:31. > :14:37.

:14:37. > :14:44.Gridlock. Chaos. Shambles. What they are saying about the A5

:14:44. > :14:48.yesterday. An overturned lorry. A spill of diesel, and 12 hours of

:14:48. > :14:52.traffic misery. The problem is road transport in North Wales is a

:14:53. > :14:56.hostage to geography. There is the sea to the north, mountains to the

:14:56. > :15:04.south. If the coast road gets blocked, it is a very long way

:15:04. > :15:09.around. With the A55 closed, the diversion took travellers on the A5

:15:09. > :15:16.through bottlenecks and then north up the A470, where there were long

:15:16. > :15:23.delays. It wasn't until 8.15pm that the road re-opened. These are some

:15:23. > :15:28.of the comments sent to BBC Wales: , "I missed my flight. Ridiculous"

:15:28. > :15:33.David said the incident had been handled in a shambolic way."

:15:33. > :15:36.business leaders are unhappy too. They want a contingency plan.

:15:36. > :15:41.drool believe there needs to be some sort of dialogue with

:15:41. > :15:45.transport operators, the Highways Agency, just to try and get some

:15:45. > :15:49.sort of protocol where these things are speeded up What I think this

:15:49. > :15:55.accidents does is focus our minds on what should be a long-term

:15:55. > :15:59.strategy for transport in North Wales. Because the A55 is our main

:15:59. > :16:03.arterial route. This afternoon there were fresh tailbacks as work

:16:03. > :16:06.continued to fix the damage done yesterday. We asked the police,

:16:06. > :16:10.Traffic Wales and the Welsh Government to explain what happened.

:16:10. > :16:12.None would give us an interview. Eventually in a statement we were

:16:12. > :16:15.told there would be an investigation.

:16:15. > :16:18.Still to come on Wales Today: Clearing up your dog's mess - if

:16:18. > :16:28.you don't, you face a 75 fine. We're out with the officers

:16:28. > :16:29.

:16:29. > :16:32.Knuckle-dusters, flick knives, Samurai swords and snakeskin

:16:32. > :16:34.slippers - just some of the illegal items found at Cardiff Airport. All

:16:34. > :16:44.confiscated from passengers' suitcases. Many said they'd bought

:16:44. > :16:48.

:16:48. > :16:53.them as souvenirs, not realising they were against the law here.

:16:53. > :16:57.There were no problems with passengers or their luggage on this

:16:57. > :17:00.flight from Majorca at Cardiff airport this lunchtime. But over

:17:01. > :17:04.the past six months officers doing customs checks have confiscated

:17:04. > :17:09.dozens of weapons found on suitcases on inbound flights. They

:17:09. > :17:15.are all illegal in the UK. These are three knuckle-dusters, which

:17:16. > :17:20.were taken from a 71-year-old man, who had come in from Larnaca on

:17:20. > :17:24.Cyprus. When asked what he was going to do with these offensive

:17:24. > :17:29.weapons, he intended to weld them together and use them in his garden.

:17:29. > :17:36.He had three knuckle dusters and this extendable baton. If you step

:17:36. > :17:41.to your left I will show you how it operates. We didn't get a rational

:17:41. > :17:44.explanation as to why he want this. He said they were for gardening

:17:45. > :17:48.purposes. It is unbelievable that people think they can get away with

:17:48. > :17:53.bringing these weapons back. Security is so strict these days at

:17:54. > :17:58.airports. They probably didn't know, but they might have known. They

:17:58. > :18:03.shouldn't be bringing them in. iguana handbag is one of a number

:18:03. > :18:08.of illegal items confiscated because it is made from an

:18:08. > :18:12.endangered species. Others include snakeskin slippers and Chinese

:18:12. > :18:16.medicines containing powdered tiger organs. The summer holidays under

:18:16. > :18:20.way the message from the Border Force is simple: don't buy anything

:18:20. > :18:23.illegal on holiday. Will it be confiscated and you could face

:18:23. > :18:26.pruefplgts -- prosecution.

:18:26. > :18:28.The organiser of a literary festival with a 10,000 prize in

:18:28. > :18:31.Carmarthenshire has said he'll have to consider holding it elsewhere

:18:31. > :18:35.next year, after a dismal turnout. The Kidwelly Festival was held at

:18:35. > :18:38.Ffos Las race course last weekend, and billed as the first in the UK

:18:38. > :18:47.to celebrate the e-book and self- publishing, but it had to be

:18:47. > :18:51.cancelled when fewer than 100 people turned up. My argument is

:18:51. > :18:57.this, that we had to start somewhere. We were the first one in

:18:57. > :19:00.the UK and the first book award of 10,000 in the world, so if nothing

:19:00. > :19:05.else we've been very brave. If nothing else, at least we've been

:19:05. > :19:08.brave and given it a good shot. And we'll give it another shot and it

:19:08. > :19:10.will be bigger next time. Rhondda Cynon Taff Council is

:19:10. > :19:13.doubling the number of enforcement officers it employs to tackle

:19:13. > :19:17.litter and dog fouling. In the past year they've sent warning letters

:19:17. > :19:20.to nearly 3,000 people. They're also handing out special pouches

:19:20. > :19:30.for people to put their cigarette butts in, rather than throwing them

:19:30. > :19:31.

:19:31. > :19:36.on the pavement and being fined 75. Pounding the beat in Pontypridd

:19:36. > :19:39.Andrew Denis and Christingle are law enforcement officers with a

:19:39. > :19:43.difference. Basically, it is an offence, a litter offence... They

:19:43. > :19:48.were the litter police. Although they have no powers of arrest they

:19:48. > :19:54.can issue 75 fixed penalties. Mostly cigarettes, so where we can

:19:54. > :19:57.we advise people. We give these out to the public for them to place

:19:57. > :20:03.cigarettes in rather than throw them on the floor. You can put them

:20:03. > :20:09.in, seal it, press it and put it out. But to be safe I would clip it

:20:09. > :20:15.before putt it in,? More than 2,800 people have been sent warning

:20:15. > :20:21.letters for dropping litter in the last year. Of those 523 are find.

:20:21. > :20:25.Have committed a littering offence for through a cigarette, so we are

:20:25. > :20:29.issuing a 5 fine. We work with schools, residents, community

:20:29. > :20:33.groups and hopefully we'll see a steady improvement. But another

:20:33. > :20:37.focus of this new campaign is dog fouling, and owners who don't clean

:20:37. > :20:41.up after their pets are being targeted. With children playing on

:20:41. > :20:46.the same fields where dogs are being exercised fouling is also a

:20:46. > :20:52.health issue. For Emma Edwards and her Yorkshire Terrier Pickles a

:20:52. > :20:56.walk in the park is a daily ritual, but Emma ensures they leave nothing

:20:56. > :21:01.behind. It is disgusting if you just leave it. It can cause

:21:01. > :21:06.diseases and shoe pick it up. It only take two minutes. Rhondda

:21:06. > :21:10.Cynon Taff Council is confident the system of enforcement officers

:21:10. > :21:14.changing people's attitudes and behaviour. Though it is clear some

:21:14. > :21:17.animal owners may need to carry bigger clean-up bags than others.

:21:17. > :21:21.That's all from me. Let's head back to the Olympic Park, where Claire

:21:21. > :21:25.has news of another Welshman starting his bid for Olympic glory.

:21:25. > :21:29.Thank you Lucy. Track and field begins tomorrow. For many it's the

:21:29. > :21:35.highlight of the Olympics here, all happening in the Olympic Park just

:21:35. > :21:40.behind me. Two Welshmen are involved tomorrow, Dai, Greene, a

:21:40. > :21:45.world champion, starts his bid for Olympic glory, alongside fellow

:21:45. > :21:50.Welshman Rhys Williams in the 400 metres hurledles. I will keep

:21:50. > :21:56.talking, but basically today I caught up with a former Olympian,

:21:56. > :22:02.Iwan Thomas, to find out his thoughts on how our hurdlers may

:22:02. > :22:06.fare tomorrow. Rhys Williams and Dai Greene in action tomorrow. It

:22:06. > :22:12.is a mouth watering prospect isn't? I can't wait to watch. I'm a

:22:12. > :22:16.spectator for once, and a happy one. Both of them have had great years.

:22:16. > :22:20.Rhys has become European champion. Dai is of course a European,

:22:20. > :22:25.Commonwealth and current world champion. His big rival is unbeaten,

:22:25. > :22:30.but Dai is rung faster than he's run before. He's a personal best

:22:30. > :22:38.before. Although he isn't ranked number one in the world, he has a

:22:38. > :22:44.good mentality. Both of the boys will be itching to go. And so are

:22:44. > :22:47.other Olympians, Brett Morse, Christian Malcolm. Christian is

:22:47. > :22:51.towards the end of his career. Still a fantastic athlete and a

:22:51. > :22:55.great chance to progress through the 200 metres. He made the final

:22:55. > :23:01.in Beijing. He is up against Bolt, Blake and the great American, so it

:23:01. > :23:05.will be tough to get a medal. If Brett was to make the final that's

:23:05. > :23:10.an awesome achievement. Warburton protested, put in an appeal. That

:23:10. > :23:14.was overturned. He tweeted me the other day saying he is raring to go.

:23:14. > :23:18.It's a funny time for the athletes. They will have seen the other

:23:18. > :23:23.sports start, the cyclists and the swimmers, they'll be thinking,

:23:23. > :23:28."Come on, when sit our turn?" And their time is now. The atmosphere

:23:28. > :23:32.has been building all week. What is it like waiting in the wings

:23:32. > :23:37.getting ready for your competition to start. It is about keeping your

:23:37. > :23:41.mind and focus. All the athletes are as physically fit as they can

:23:42. > :23:44.be. It is all about telling themselves you've done all the hard

:23:44. > :23:50.work and maintaining that excitement. Don't gate excited

:23:50. > :23:55.before. You need to keep the nerves in. They will have watched Bradley

:23:55. > :24:00.wiggins storming to a medal, and the rowers. It is like I can relate

:24:00. > :24:10.to those guys, if they can do it, I can do it. Der heartache the rowing

:24:10. > :24:14.

:24:14. > :24:19.It is nice and calm here this evening. Good conditions for the

:24:19. > :24:22.rowers. There are a few rowers on the water this evening. Who knows?

:24:22. > :24:28.Maybe in four years' time one of the guys here will be taking part

:24:28. > :24:35.in the Olympics and winding a medal for us down in Brazil, in Rio de

:24:35. > :24:39.Janeiro., in 2016. Chris Bartley on top form today. Getting his silver

:24:39. > :24:45.medal, but the weather isn't on top form, unfortunately. We've had a

:24:45. > :24:50.few showers, light winds. That's the story for the next few days.

:24:50. > :24:54.Sunny intervals, rain and heavy showers. This evening scattered

:24:54. > :24:59.showers in place. Sunny for some of us. Overnight most of the country

:24:59. > :25:04.is dry, bar one or two showers in the south and west. Lowest

:25:04. > :25:09.temperatures tonight 10 Celsius in Llangollen and 14 in Narberth.

:25:09. > :25:13.Tomorrow, low pressure is near Ireland. That means unstable air,

:25:13. > :25:17.towering clouds, rain, heavy showers and gusty winds as well.

:25:17. > :25:22.Tomorrow some dry weather, some sunshine, but again a few showers

:25:22. > :25:28.around, heavy in place. Rain will reach Pembrokeshire mid morning.

:25:28. > :25:33.This will spread east in the afternoon, heavy in places. Top

:25:33. > :25:37.temperatures 16-20 Celsius, 16-68 Fahrenheit, with a south-

:25:37. > :25:41.southwesterly breeze that. Wind quite brisk and gusty on the south

:25:41. > :25:47.Pembrokeshire coast. If you are heading to the Millennium Stadium

:25:48. > :25:53.tomorrow afternoon for the women's football, Japan versus Brazil, I

:25:53. > :25:57.wouldn't rule out a shower. The pollen count is low. Tomorrow

:25:57. > :26:03.evening and overnight there'll be rain and showers affecting most of

:26:03. > :26:06.the country. That could be heavy. For example in parts of Powys and

:26:06. > :26:11.Conwy. For the weekend, very hit Conwy. For the weekend, very hit

:26:11. > :26:15.and miss. Some sunshine but more heavy showers, torrential downpours

:26:15. > :26:19.in places. A risk of hail, thunder and gusty wind. Some places could

:26:19. > :26:25.get a real soaking over the weekend. The Met Office has issued a yellow

:26:25. > :26:28.warning for heavy rain on Saturday. Next week - a bit mixed, sunshine

:26:28. > :26:36.and shower, but there is the prospect of fine and warmer weather

:26:36. > :26:40.for a time. That would be good news for the Eisteddfod. Lots of

:26:40. > :26:44.excitement and drama at the Olympics today. Back to Clare today

:26:44. > :26:51.in London. Thank you. News coming in that

:26:51. > :26:56.Chris Hoy has just won his fifth Olympic gold med A today is one day

:26:56. > :27:00.one Welshman will never forget. At Eton Dorney today in the rowing,

:27:00. > :27:04.Wrexham's Chris Bartley won silver in the lightweight four. Missing

:27:04. > :27:11.gold by just a quarter of a second. It was a nail-biting finish and one

:27:11. > :27:13.that pushed them to the limit. I didn't really feel that much

:27:13. > :27:18.I didn't really feel that much emotion afterwards. I felt sick and

:27:18. > :27:24.had a bang headache. I had pretty much given it all I had physically.

:27:24. > :27:29.It took me a while to recover. It hasn't sunk in that I have got a

:27:29. > :27:34.medal at a home Games. I'm starting to feel myself now. Chris started

:27:34. > :27:36.rowing at the age of 14 and today at the age of 28 he's a silver
