:00:18. > :00:24.of a ten-year-old girl from carefully have won their fight to

:00:24. > :00:28.get extra funding to pay for their daughter's help. The family wanted

:00:28. > :00:30.to move to a system of direct payments, available in other parts

:00:31. > :00:37.of the UK, but the local social services department couldn't agree

:00:37. > :00:44.who should pay. Ten-year-old Poppy has a condition

:00:44. > :00:48.called Warburg micro-syndrome. She is blind and unable to walk or talk.

:00:48. > :00:52.She has to be fed by a tube into her stomach. For two years, her mum and

:00:52. > :00:56.dad have been fighting to get more financial support to care for her at

:00:56. > :01:02.home. They want to move on to a system of direct payment used in

:01:02. > :01:07.other parts of the UK. But neither the health board or local social

:01:07. > :01:12.services would take responsibility for the cost. Because she is tube

:01:12. > :01:15.fed, and they say that needs to be done by a nurse, therefore they

:01:15. > :01:21.won't give us payments because they won't use part of their budget to

:01:22. > :01:26.pay for nursing needs. Where is the health side said that tube feeding

:01:26. > :01:31.isn't a nursing need, and anyone can do it. We featured the couple's

:01:31. > :01:36.struggle last month, and no social services have said they will

:01:36. > :01:43.authorise direct payments. It means the world our family. It will mean a

:01:43. > :01:49.better quality of the Poppy, with more help, people being able to help

:01:49. > :01:55.us get to School, Bath, maybe swim more, do therapy her and things.

:01:55. > :02:03.family hope that this will help other families facing the same

:02:03. > :02:08.battle for funding. The local MP wants the local government to look

:02:08. > :02:14.into the issue of when health board and social services claim it is the

:02:14. > :02:17.others job to help. Crews were called to Alexander hotel

:02:17. > :02:24.in London this morning after a fire started in the roof will stop no one

:02:24. > :02:27.was injured. The extent of the damage is confined to the top floor

:02:27. > :02:30.in terms of smoke and fire damage. There was a lot of water damage and

:02:30. > :02:34.the rest of the Hotel because there was a lot of water used to put out

:02:35. > :02:39.the fire, and that has had to soak down through the building, and it

:02:39. > :02:46.has gone through all the floors. We anticipate the hotel will be closed

:02:46. > :02:51.for at least four weeks. Thank God we managed to get people out of the

:02:51. > :02:56.building very fast through the good officers and my staff, we were able

:02:56. > :02:59.to get them accommodated in the nearby hotel on the promenade.

:02:59. > :03:02.On the opening day of the Eisteddfod in Pembrokeshire, the festival has

:03:02. > :03:06.been discussing how it should develop in the future to attract

:03:06. > :03:11.more visitors. A new fund has been set-up to encourage people to use

:03:11. > :03:14.Welsh services online. It wasn't the weather that the

:03:14. > :03:24.organiser would have wanted, but away from the mud and the mice,

:03:24. > :03:30.there were debates on how best to improve the Eisteddfod experience.

:03:30. > :03:35.It is hoped that changes will attract additional visitors dash up

:03:35. > :03:44.to 20,000 more each year. People tell us we need to strengthen this

:03:44. > :03:48.festival. Not a place passed by whilst the children compete, but to

:03:48. > :03:54.provide an exciting experience. You'll be beloved, with innovative

:03:54. > :03:59.ideas, such as a technology Pavilion, longer days, more

:03:59. > :04:05.performance tents, and so on. Ensuring the Welsh language thrives

:04:05. > :04:08.in a digital age is the aim of a new fund announced today. The minister

:04:08. > :04:13.responsible for the language says three quarters of 1 million will be

:04:13. > :04:17.made available over the next three years to help develop services on

:04:17. > :04:23.phones, tablet and the web. We want to in courage people do come forward

:04:23. > :04:28.with ideas for social media opportunities which can be developed

:04:28. > :04:30.through the medium of Welsh. We want to ensure that young people

:04:30. > :04:38.particularly have the opportunity to live their lives through the medium

:04:38. > :04:45.of Welsh. Just over 16,500 turned up today, down 7000 on last year's

:04:45. > :04:48.opening day. 1.5 million is to be spent

:04:48. > :04:53.protecting Welsh wildlife after a report warned wildlife was facing

:04:53. > :04:55.increasing pressure from climate change, loss of habitat and disease.

:04:56. > :05:01.Welsh Government says the money will be used to strengthen the

:05:01. > :05:04.environment against climate change. Some rugby news for you and the

:05:04. > :05:08.British and Irish Lions fly out to Hong Kong later head of their tour

:05:08. > :05:12.of Australia. They will play the Barbarians at the weekend before

:05:12. > :05:16.heading down under. 15 Welsh players are in the touring party. They have

:05:16. > :05:26.an extra time together, having not been involved in end of season club

:05:26. > :05:31.finals. The players coming into the squad are battle hardened. They are

:05:31. > :05:36.coming in with confidence, but a lot of the Welsh players have had two

:05:36. > :05:43.weeks together as well, and we have trained them pretty hard. We have

:05:43. > :05:47.got up to a level intensity and expectation, to gain awareness and

:05:47. > :05:54.understanding. It will be interesting to see between the two

:05:54. > :05:58.sets of players who hits the ground running the best.

:05:58. > :06:08.It has been a fairly wet and miserable day for many of us. Let's

:06:08. > :06:09.

:06:09. > :06:13.get a full check on the weather the bank holiday for many of us, but

:06:13. > :06:19.at least we have had some dry and bright weather, and the rain will

:06:19. > :06:23.start to clear as we go through this evening. It will slowly but surely

:06:23. > :06:26.move further inland and linger on along the border. The wind is much

:06:27. > :06:33.lighter, temperatures getting down to around six Celsius, so it will be

:06:33. > :06:37.a chilly night. The rain will be more stubborn the further inland you

:06:37. > :06:43.are. A few showers could be heavy at times. Temperatures disappointing

:06:43. > :06:48.for the time of year, ranging from 11 to 12 Celsius, but the wind will
