:00:00. > :00:08.industry. We are back with

:00:09. > :00:14.Good evening. Rain and strong winds have again been causing problems

:00:15. > :00:17.across Wales, with emergency services dealing with a number of

:00:18. > :00:21.incidents of flooding and fallen trees. And there's a warning of more

:00:22. > :00:25.bad weather to come. Nick Palit reports.

:00:26. > :00:29.The heavy rain has once again resulted in swollen rivers and

:00:30. > :00:32.flooding to areas alongside. There's currently a flood warning on the

:00:33. > :00:37.River Lougher and 20 further flood alerts. Here in Treharris near

:00:38. > :00:43.Merthyr Tydfil, the Taff was dangerously high. Householders

:00:44. > :00:47.nearby getting the sandbags ready. In neighbouring Trelewis, rain water

:00:48. > :01:04.running off fields turned roads into streams. Council workmen battling to

:01:05. > :01:11.clear blocked drains. The roads were very bad. In Aberdare, flooding on

:01:12. > :01:17.the towns bypass affected traffic on the roads. It was coming out of the

:01:18. > :01:21.fields. Rail services were also affected by flooding on the

:01:22. > :01:24.railways. Arriva trains have been running replacement bus services on

:01:25. > :01:27.some parts of the Valley Lines. These passengers at Abercynon had to

:01:28. > :01:38.be brought here by road from Pontypridd. It has been a nightmare.

:01:39. > :01:42.Freezing cold. It has been a similar story in communities right across

:01:43. > :01:50.Wales. In the village of Llanberis in Gwynedd, fire crews were called

:01:51. > :01:53.in to pump out drains and cellars. Elizabeth Jones was particularly

:01:54. > :01:57.worried. She'd only just moved back into her house after a serious flood

:01:58. > :02:00.last year. And today, for the third time in as many days, water came

:02:01. > :02:05.within an inch of breaching her sandbag defences. Deep down, I was

:02:06. > :02:09.afraid of the water coming in. I phoned the water board first. And of

:02:10. > :02:14.course, seeing that nothing was being done, I panicked and I phoned

:02:15. > :02:17.the fire brigade and they came. I was lucky in a way that they came

:02:18. > :02:22.because it was half an inch from coming into the kitchen. The Met

:02:23. > :02:25.Office is warning of further bad weather especially on New Year's Day

:02:26. > :02:27.and with much of the ground already saturated, further localised

:02:28. > :02:31.flooding seems inevitable. A private family funeral has been held in

:02:32. > :02:34.Colwyn Bay for the former Wales Office minister Lord Roberts of

:02:35. > :02:37.Conwy. Wyn Roberts served as Conservative MP for Conwy for 27

:02:38. > :02:41.years before joining the House of Lords. He died earlier this month at

:02:42. > :02:47.the age of 83. David Cameron called him a tireless ambassador for Wales.

:02:48. > :02:51.A woman whose body was found in a stream during heavy rain in Gwynedd

:02:52. > :02:54.two days before Christmas has been named. It's thought Susan Hewitt

:02:55. > :02:57.left her house in Nant Ffrancon in Bethesda to check a water supply.

:02:58. > :03:02.Police aren't treating her death as suspicious. The North Wales Police

:03:03. > :03:07.Commissioner has welcomed a change to the way crime is recorded. Police

:03:08. > :03:11.forces in Wales will start using a new system in the new year. It's

:03:12. > :03:14.designed to give people more of an idea about why some crimes are not

:03:15. > :03:26.solved. At the moment around 70% of crimes are recorded as undetected

:03:27. > :03:30.with no indication as to why. It is vague and ambiguous and in

:03:31. > :03:36.fact, misleading because it describes all sorts of situations,

:03:37. > :03:43.including cases where the crime has been detected. And so change is

:03:44. > :03:49.necessary so that people will know and have a clearer idea of why it is

:03:50. > :03:52.that a case has not proceeded to court or prosecution. The parents of

:03:53. > :03:55.a missing man from Newbridge, who's believed to have been murdered, say

:03:56. > :03:59.they're desperate to find out what's happened to him. 24-year-old Kyle

:04:00. > :04:03.Vaughan was last seen a year ago today. Paul Heaney reports.

:04:04. > :04:08.Reminding people they are still looking for their friend, Curzon and

:04:09. > :04:17.son, who disappeared last year, apparently without trace. It is

:04:18. > :04:22.exactly one year since Kyle Vaughan was last seen alive. His father says

:04:23. > :04:27.he has two accept that he has been killed but wants to be able to say

:04:28. > :04:31.goodbye properly. When you have not had your son around for a year and

:04:32. > :04:36.then you get him home, it is like all your Christmas is coming at

:04:37. > :04:40.once. It will be a very sad day but it will be a happy day. A happy day

:04:41. > :04:48.in the respect that we can put it to bed. We have a grave, a marker, we

:04:49. > :04:54.can cry and talk to him. We need help from the public to find our

:04:55. > :05:05.son. Kyle was last seen on 30th of December 2012. His light blue car

:05:06. > :05:08.had crashed. Two men aged 27 and 25 from Blackwood are still on police

:05:09. > :05:14.bail after being arrested on suspicion of murder. A 15-year-old

:05:15. > :05:18.boy has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

:05:19. > :05:22.Police say just one piece of evidence from someone who knows

:05:23. > :05:27.something about why he went missing could help their investigation. What

:05:28. > :05:32.has happened to him, we do not know why, we do not understand why he was

:05:33. > :05:38.murdered. All his friends are gutted. Everyone is devastated. The

:05:39. > :05:46.bull think it will go to sleep. We will not let it go to sleep. It is

:05:47. > :05:52.our son. It is our family. Everyone wants him home. The family has not

:05:53. > :05:56.celebrated Christmas this year. They just want a year of torment to end

:05:57. > :06:00.and lay their son to rest. The number of people who died at work

:06:01. > :06:03.has fallen by more than half in a year, according to figures from the

:06:04. > :06:06.Health and Safety Executive. Eight people lost their lives and just

:06:07. > :06:10.over 1,000 suffered a major injury, compared to 19 deaths and almost

:06:11. > :06:13.1,200 injuries in the previous year. Despite the drop, the HSE said

:06:14. > :06:19.businesses needed to make employees' safety their top priority. Newport

:06:20. > :06:23.County may be forced to play a defender in goal against Oxford

:06:24. > :06:26.United because of an injury to their only fit goalkeeper. Lenny Pidgeley

:06:27. > :06:29.hurt his thumb in Sunday's 1-0 defeat at Burton Albion and could

:06:30. > :06:32.miss Wednesday's League Two match against promotion rivals Oxford

:06:33. > :06:33.United. Defender Andy Sandell could find himself putting the goalkeeping

:06:34. > :06:48.gloves on for that match. Time now for the full weather

:06:49. > :06:53.forecast. Good evening. There is no sign of

:06:54. > :06:55.the weather settling down. The Jetstream remains very active and

:06:56. > :07:00.there is more heavy rain heading our way. For New Year's Eve, some rain

:07:01. > :07:06.and showers but I can promise you some sunshine as well. This is the

:07:07. > :07:13.satellite which are, in -- satellite picture, this swirl of cloud is

:07:14. > :07:17.heading our way. This evening, relatively calm and dry but

:07:18. > :07:23.overnight, the southerly wind will gradually freshen and blow a few

:07:24. > :07:28.showers are way after opening night. Temperatures staying above freezing.

:07:29. > :07:33.For New Year's Eve, there will be some rain around in the morning,

:07:34. > :07:36.heavy in places. That will clear. It will brighten up for a time. Some

:07:37. > :07:42.sunshine but more rain and showers are expected in the afternoon. If

:07:43. > :07:48.you are celebrating, I think an umbrella will come in handy. Very

:07:49. > :07:55.windy. Temperatures around five Celsius in Wrexham. Looking ahead to

:07:56. > :07:58.New Year's Day, another deep area of low pressure will move in from the

:07:59. > :08:05.Atlantic. That means another dose of heavy rain, strong winds and gales.

:08:06. > :08:10.They could be some more flooding in places. Thursday and Friday will be

:08:11. > :08:13.colder with a mixture of sunshine and showers. Temperatures dropping a

:08:14. > :08:22.couple of degrees. That is all for me. There's more on our website.

:08:23. > :08:38.I'll be back at 10:20pm. From all of us here, have a good evening.

:08:39. > :08:42.Another day off strong winds, heavy rain and flooding. At least things

:08:43. > :08:44.are
