:00:12. > :00:13.Good afternoon. Engineers working to reconnect

:00:14. > :00:16.thousands of homes without electricity say they hope to restore

:00:17. > :00:21.power to all those affected by midnight. A further 1,000 properties

:00:22. > :00:29.were cut-off in strong winds overnight. Matt Murray reports.

:00:30. > :00:35.Taking another battering from the waves. Part of this road in Amroth

:00:36. > :00:39.in Pembrokeshire lost to the sea. People here say that the fences

:00:40. > :00:43.damaged a few weeks ago were taken away. The road has been damaged and

:00:44. > :00:48.it is forced to close causing misery for many. It is devastating not just

:00:49. > :00:55.for the business but for our everyday life. If I'll mail -- five

:00:56. > :01:01.mile round trip to school usually, with this, it is 30 miles. The

:01:02. > :01:06.battle to get power back on continues. Another 1,00 homes were

:01:07. > :01:10.cut-off overnight. ScottishPower say they're aiming to get power restored

:01:11. > :01:13.to all 4,000 remaining homes by midnight. 17 people were evacuated

:01:14. > :01:21.from these flats in Barry after part building's roof was damaged. This is

:01:22. > :01:23.a flat roofed building and is believed the winds were 80mph last

:01:24. > :01:30.night. As these flats are close to the coast, these wins took off the

:01:31. > :01:33.front of the building and the rain started leaking into people's

:01:34. > :01:37.bedrooms. 86-year-old Elizabeth Curtis has lived at the flats for 12

:01:38. > :01:41.years. It's the first time this has ever happened, and today her

:01:42. > :01:44.daughter was assessing the damage. The main damages in the two

:01:45. > :01:50.bedrooms. What are coming through the ceiling, as you can see. The bed

:01:51. > :01:57.is saturated and the carpet is as well. All the other trustees turned

:01:58. > :02:02.off at the moment. -- all the electricity. So in Barry, the clear

:02:03. > :02:05.up continues, as does the misery of this unrelenting severe weather.

:02:06. > :02:09.A pregnant woman and her unborn baby have died after a car crash on the

:02:10. > :02:12.Heads of the Valleys Road. Two cars collided between Brynmawr and

:02:13. > :02:15.Garnlydan in Blaenau Gwent last night. The woman, who was 20 and

:02:16. > :02:18.from Tredegar, died at Nevill Hall Hospital in Abergavenny.

:02:19. > :02:21.Welsh Conservatives insist their party is united, despite the

:02:22. > :02:24.controversial sacking of four Shadow Cabinet members. Andrew RT Davies

:02:25. > :02:29.sacked them for rebelling against him in a vote on devolving income

:02:30. > :02:31.tax. Senior figures said there was "zero support" at a Welsh

:02:32. > :02:36.Conservatives board meeting for Mr Davies' decision. But the party said

:02:37. > :02:40.leaks from that meeting were "bizarre" and that it was united.

:02:41. > :02:44.Plans to centralise some hospital services in south Wales have been

:02:45. > :02:47.criticised by a Labour MP. Chris Bryant, who represents the Rhondda

:02:48. > :02:50.constituency, has told BBC Wales' Sunday Politics programme he plans

:02:51. > :02:53.to fight the reorganisation plans, which would see some services moved

:02:54. > :03:01.from the Royal Glamorgan Hospital in Llantrisant.

:03:02. > :03:08.The weather forecast for Wales, here's Owain Wyn Evans. In very

:03:09. > :03:13.heavy rain this morning and strong winds. Remaining quite unsettled the

:03:14. > :03:20.supplement. Strong winds and patchy rain. That will turn to snow on

:03:21. > :03:23.higher ground in parts of north-east Wales. Further south, a better

:03:24. > :03:30.picture with a good chance of sunny spells in temperature. Top

:03:31. > :03:33.temperatures of 7-8 Celsius. It will remain very windy this afternoon

:03:34. > :03:38.especially on the south coast and West Coast. The wind eases overnight

:03:39. > :03:41.and the skies were clear. You can see the map turning blue in some

:03:42. > :03:46.places. We expect a frost tonight, temperatures close to freezing. Some

:03:47. > :03:51.good news. Tomorrow is a better day across Wales. Plenty of sunny spells

:03:52. > :03:54.and lighter winds for this area of low pressure makes its way towards

:03:55. > :03:57.us, introducing heavy rain tomorrow night into Monday.

:03:58. > :04:13.We're back at 6.10pm. From all of us here, have a good evening.

:04:14. > :04:15.Good afternoon. It looks as though we could be heading towards a sunny
