:00:00. > 3:59:59That is all from us. Newsnight is on BBC Two in a few moments, asking

:00:00. > :00:24.what lessons the flood have And Good evening. Best known for

:00:25. > :00:28.James Bond films, Pinewood Studios has announced it's to open a new

:00:29. > :00:31.facility in Cardiff. The Welsh Government has been heavily involved

:00:32. > :00:35.in the deal, saying it would generate an estimated ?90 million

:00:36. > :00:38.and support 2,000 over five years. Our arts and media correspondent Huw

:00:39. > :00:42.Thomas reports Two women from mid Wales have been jailed for illegally

:00:43. > :00:51.burying a man and claiming benefits in his name. It is the movie banned

:00:52. > :00:59.-- brand that has promoted British film around the world perhaps more

:01:00. > :01:06.than any other. James Bond has helped Pinewood present the British

:01:07. > :01:22.story perhaps more than anything else. After a year of talks, Cardiff

:01:23. > :01:30.was chosen I Pinewood for their new facility. They will lease the

:01:31. > :01:34.building from the Welsh Government. It will be employment opportunities,

:01:35. > :01:41.it will help small businesses who might wish to work with them. Like

:01:42. > :01:47.macro significance of this cannot be understated. Pinewood is responsible

:01:48. > :01:53.for familiar characters and film franchises that we all go to see in

:01:54. > :01:56.the cinema. With the deal announced to bring Pinewood to Cardiff we

:01:57. > :02:09.could be seen some familiar faces in Wales. Wales has often been a

:02:10. > :02:13.popular place to film things like honeypot and Doctor Who. This

:02:14. > :02:21.promises to put Wales in the heart of the UK film industry. We have

:02:22. > :02:26.struggled to attract film-makers, this facility was mothballed after

:02:27. > :02:31.seven years having failed to attract film-makers. There is an initial

:02:32. > :02:37.commitment of a five-year lease on the site and the Welsh Government

:02:38. > :02:41.are making a ?30 million pot available to production companies

:02:42. > :02:46.who want to make films here with the government getting a cut of profits

:02:47. > :02:51.if they do well at the box office. Ill macro in recent years will has

:02:52. > :02:55.become a well-known centre for the production of television drama. With

:02:56. > :03:01.the introduction of a tax incentive for big budget television by the UK

:03:02. > :03:08.Government this is something we are very excited by. It is a brand with

:03:09. > :03:12.a long track record and it is about having the right timing. We have

:03:13. > :03:18.lots of new talent coming through the ranks that is ready to break

:03:19. > :03:21.into studio pictures. We do not know if James Bond will be among the

:03:22. > :03:32.stars heading to Cardiff for their big film next time but the hope to

:03:33. > :03:40.start work as soon as. Two women from Wales have been jailed for

:03:41. > :03:42.illegally burying a man and continuing to claim benefits in his

:03:43. > :03:46.name. Geoffrey Sturdey died in 2008, but his body was only found on land

:03:47. > :03:49.near the village of Llwynygroes in Ceredigion last June. His widow was

:03:50. > :03:52.involved in the fraud. Cemlyn Davies reports. This is the remote part of

:03:53. > :03:56.countryside where Geoffrey Sturdey's body was found nearly five years

:03:57. > :03:59.after he died. He lived with his wife and three other woman near

:04:00. > :04:03.Llwynygroes in Ceredigion. Mr Sturdey was 60 when he died of

:04:04. > :04:06.natural causes but his death was kept a secret as his widow, Ladan

:04:07. > :04:11.Rebekah Sturdey and Boque Ore Aide, continued to claim benefits in his

:04:12. > :04:24.name. They fraudulently received more than ?77,000. Eventually, staff

:04:25. > :04:31.at the Department for Work and Pensions grew suspicious. It began

:04:32. > :04:36.as the departmental matching stand. The amount of money on someone's

:04:37. > :04:39.account was above the allowed beam it. It seemed to be a

:04:40. > :04:43.straightforward case but when investigators looked at it closely

:04:44. > :04:46.it became apparent there was more to this. The women claimed Mr Sturdey

:04:47. > :04:48.had gone travelling across Europe but after an extensive search

:04:49. > :04:51.operation involving digging equipment and ground-penetrating

:04:52. > :04:55.radar police found his body, and notes written in Hebrew explaining

:04:56. > :04:59.how he had died. As he sentenced them to 20 months in prison, judge

:05:00. > :05:02.Paul Thomas QC told Ladan Rebekah Sturdey and Boque Ore Aide they had

:05:03. > :05:10.taken advantage of Mr Sturdey's sad death to claim benefits to which

:05:11. > :05:13.they were not entitled. It gave you two the opportunity to enrich

:05:14. > :05:24.yourselves at the expense of the rest of us, he said. Ladan Rebekah

:05:25. > :05:27.Sturdey and Boque Ore Aide will serve half their sentences behind

:05:28. > :05:35.bars before being released on license. What this investigation has

:05:36. > :05:38.shown that people who unlawfully bury a deceased person and continue

:05:39. > :05:43.to claim their benefits will not get away with it. An investigation is

:05:44. > :05:47.taking place in relation to this matter. Karmel Aide, who had also

:05:48. > :05:50.admitted unlawfully burying a man, was given a nine month suspended

:05:51. > :05:53.sentence and she was ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work.

:05:54. > :05:56.There's a police investigation into unlawful payments he received, but

:05:57. > :06:01.the Chief Executive of Pembrokeshire County Council, Bryn Parry Jones,

:06:02. > :06:04.will NOT be standing down. On Friday, the council accepted the

:06:05. > :06:07.findings of a Wales Audit Office report into the payments. His

:06:08. > :06:14.counterpart at Carmarthenshire, Mark James, has stood down while police

:06:15. > :06:17.investigate payments to him. A dispute over protecting the wages of

:06:18. > :06:21.Welsh farm workers has begun its hearing in the Supreme Court.

:06:22. > :06:25.Assembly Members passed a law last year to set minimum wages in

:06:26. > :06:28.agriculture. But the UK Government's Attorney General blocked it, saying,

:06:29. > :06:35.it was not within the assembly's powers. The hearing continues

:06:36. > :06:39.tomorrow. The Wales squad are back in camp ahead of Friday's Six

:06:40. > :06:42.Nations Game match with France. There are no fresh injuries but

:06:43. > :06:45.there was confirmation today that Jonathan Davies won't be in

:06:46. > :06:49.contention. Warren Gatland will name his side to face France on

:06:50. > :06:52.Wednesday. Behind the scenes, some positive signs tonight of a

:06:53. > :06:56.resolution in the on-going rugby row. The Welsh Rugby Union Chief

:06:57. > :07:06.Executive Roger Lewis says, more talks will take place tomorrow. I

:07:07. > :07:11.will be back up in London tomorrow with my colleagues from France,

:07:12. > :07:15.Ireland and England. We have a small working party now to put the flesh

:07:16. > :07:20.on the bones of what we discussed last week in Paris. Personally I

:07:21. > :07:24.would like to resolve it by the end of this year's six Nations but it

:07:25. > :07:28.will take as long as it takes because we have to get the right

:07:29. > :07:31.resolution and outcome for rugby. At the winter Olympics in Russia,

:07:32. > :07:34.Welsh-born skater Lloyd Jones finished 15th as he competed for

:07:35. > :07:37.France in the Free Dance pairs final. The 25-year-old, from

:07:38. > :07:40.Whitchurch in Cardiff, moved abroad to team up with a new partner and

:07:41. > :07:42.better facilities. Another welshman, Bruce Tasker from Manobier IS part

:07:43. > :07:46.of Great Britain's four-man bobsleigh team. He's arrived in

:07:47. > :07:53.Sochi, excited and ready to compete for a medal. We are doing very well

:07:54. > :08:02.to remember it is just another race. Yes it is the Olympic Games and the

:08:03. > :08:05.spin equal of our sporting career -- pinnacle of our sporting gear but we

:08:06. > :08:20.are just going out there to win like we do every week. Now the weather.

:08:21. > :08:28.Just a little warmer here, less stormy later this week but it will

:08:29. > :08:33.not be completely dry. Some dry weather tonight but also showers,

:08:34. > :08:37.heavy and places. The wind will fall light and temperatures staying well

:08:38. > :08:42.above freezing. Tomorrow morning they will start today with mist and

:08:43. > :08:46.hill fog. One or two showers otherwise much of the country dry

:08:47. > :08:52.and brightening up in places with a little sunshine in Newtown. We have

:08:53. > :08:57.some rain and mind and snow for the North of Scotland. Elsewhere, some

:08:58. > :09:00.places dry and brightening up with sunshine. There will be some cloud

:09:01. > :09:09.around with the risk of the land fund. The temperature in London will

:09:10. > :09:16.rise to 11 Celcius. A clear afternoon in Wales tomorrow.

:09:17. > :09:22.Temperatures well above-average with a light to moderate breeze. Tomorrow

:09:23. > :09:26.evening will start dry but that will not last, some showery rain

:09:27. > :09:30.spreading across the country overnight. Showers first thing we'll

:09:31. > :09:34.hear on Wednesday then mostly dry but some rain in the west and

:09:35. > :09:39.south-west later in the afternoon. It does look like turning white

:09:40. > :09:45.overnight into Thursday with some heavy rain accompanied by strong to

:09:46. > :09:49.gale force winds. No warnings in force at the moment in Wales but

:09:50. > :09:53.that could change. Keep an eye on the forecast. That is all from us

:09:54. > :10:02.for now, good night. This beauty will make you as fast

:10:03. > :10:12.as a frog... I just want these. Well,

:10:13. > :10:16.you're not going to win in those.
