0:00:17 > 0:00:19officers have been sacked after they failed to investigate properly a

0:00:20 > 0:00:25colleague who was later jailed for sexual assault. Detective Constable

0:00:26 > 0:00:30Jeffrey Davies was jailed for three years last summer for offences

0:00:31 > 0:00:32against two women. South Wales police have also apologised to the

0:00:33 > 0:00:44women involved. As family liaison efforts, Jeffrey

0:00:45 > 0:00:50Davis was supposed to support victims of crime. Instead, he took

0:00:51 > 0:00:54advantage of his position. We learned that two of his superior

0:00:55 > 0:00:59officers have been sacked for failing to address the allegations.

0:01:00 > 0:01:03The conduct of these officers fell below the standards we expect of

0:01:04 > 0:01:07leaders in our organisation. They did not deal with the complaints in

0:01:08 > 0:01:12the way they should have done, and they made light, in some ways, of

0:01:13 > 0:01:18those complaints. That is completely unacceptable and they have been

0:01:19 > 0:01:27dismissed. The three men all worked here. The Independent Police

0:01:28 > 0:01:34Complaints Commission said they uncovered what amounted to a culture

0:01:35 > 0:01:37where inappropriate comments were viewed as harmless banter and showed

0:01:38 > 0:01:44the officers concerned had nothing but contempt for the women. The

0:01:45 > 0:01:49women in this investigation came to the police for help. They were

0:01:50 > 0:01:53making very serious allegations of a sexual nature against a serving

0:01:54 > 0:01:58police officer. They should have expected to be treated with

0:01:59 > 0:02:01respect, with dignity, and they should have expected that their

0:02:02 > 0:02:07allegations were investigated quickly and thoroughly. South Wales

0:02:08 > 0:02:11Police say they believe they have dealt with this matter robust play.

0:02:12 > 0:02:20They want to assure women this behaviour was unacceptable and it

0:02:21 > 0:02:24should not put off other women coming to the police. The trial of

0:02:25 > 0:02:27the Swansea-born MP and former deputy speaker of the House of

0:02:28 > 0:02:30Commons, Nigel Evans, has heard he used his "powerful" influence to

0:02:31 > 0:02:33sexually assault young men. The 56-year-old is accused of eight

0:02:34 > 0:02:38counts of indecent and sexual assault, and one of rape. The

0:02:39 > 0:02:41alleged offences are said to have happened between 2002 and last year

0:02:42 > 0:02:49- and involved seven men. He denies all nine charges.

0:02:50 > 0:02:55Cuts to leisure services could be disastrous - at a time when more

0:02:56 > 0:02:58than half of adults in Wales are overweight or obese. That's the

0:02:59 > 0:03:01stark warning from a leading doctor, as councils across the country look

0:03:02 > 0:03:04to make millions of pounds in savings. Leisure is particularly

0:03:05 > 0:03:12vulnerable because there's no legal obligation for councils to provide

0:03:13 > 0:03:19it. I think it is depressing, alarming, and a disastrous move. We

0:03:20 > 0:03:29already have an obesity crisis in Wales. We need to tackle this in

0:03:30 > 0:03:38every single direction, from the food industry, politicians, as well

0:03:39 > 0:03:43as leisure centre. This could be passing on the cost to the health in

0:03:44 > 0:03:48the future. We need to consider that people need to be active, and they

0:03:49 > 0:03:51need to have access locally. Tomorrow's the deadline for councils

0:03:52 > 0:03:54to decide how much council tax they'll charge. We'll take a closer

0:03:55 > 0:03:57look at what it means for your council tax bill - coming through

0:03:58 > 0:04:04your front door soon. That's 6:30 tomorrow. The service which treats

0:04:05 > 0:04:07children and young people with mental health problems in Wales is

0:04:08 > 0:04:10in crisis, according to child health experts. A BBC Wales investigation

0:04:11 > 0:04:12has found that young people are often left struggling to cope

0:04:13 > 0:04:26without the appropriate support. Aled Hughes reports. This mother is

0:04:27 > 0:04:29in a living nightmare. Her 15-year-old daughter suffers mental

0:04:30 > 0:04:34illness. Suicidal thoughts a regular occurrence. It is not just fighting

0:04:35 > 0:04:42the illness which is difficult, she is fighting the system. It makes you

0:04:43 > 0:04:48doubt your parenting skills, the choices you've made, whether it is

0:04:49 > 0:04:54your fault. You ask them if they can help you. They give you telephone

0:04:55 > 0:04:59numbers. There is nobody who I can physically grab and say to them, my

0:05:00 > 0:05:05daughter is in an episode, screaming, shouting, cutting

0:05:06 > 0:05:09herself. If they could physically see her during these times they

0:05:10 > 0:05:14would be more aware and they might turn around and offer you more. She

0:05:15 > 0:05:19is not alone. Rosen is of children and young people have mental health

0:05:20 > 0:05:27problems, but experts say they are not receiving the right support at

0:05:28 > 0:05:30the right time. One of the difficulties we face as we have a

0:05:31 > 0:05:37lot of really good people working here, but the services are

0:05:38 > 0:05:44incredibly under resourced and understaffed. It is not to say that

0:05:45 > 0:05:52they are services that earn not giving good care, that continues to

0:05:53 > 0:05:57happen, the big problem is lots of children cannot access the service.

0:05:58 > 0:06:03The Welsh government denies this system is in a state of crisis and

0:06:04 > 0:06:08they say they will spend extra money every year. Whether that will be

0:06:09 > 0:06:12enough is not clear, but this mother still dreams of a brighter future

0:06:13 > 0:06:16for her and her daughter. Paralympic Gold medallist Aled Sion Davies is

0:06:17 > 0:06:19one of the athletes chosen to carry the Queen's Baton Relay when it

0:06:20 > 0:06:23comes to Wales as part of the build-up to the Commonwealth Games.

0:06:24 > 0:06:27More than 100 people will run with the baton, during its seven-day

0:06:28 > 0:06:30visit here, beginning on the 24th of May. Former weightlifting gold

0:06:31 > 0:06:35medallist Ray Williams will carry it when it travels across Gwynedd and

0:06:36 > 0:06:45Anglesey. He says he's delighted to be part of a tradition that dates

0:06:46 > 0:06:48back to the Empire Games in 1958. Probably Wales's greatest

0:06:49 > 0:06:54all-rounder who scored the try against New Zealand had carried it

0:06:55 > 0:06:59before, so for me to be able to carry it means a lot to me but it is

0:07:00 > 0:07:08really special for communities in Wales because it gives youngsters

0:07:09 > 0:07:17the chance to have a feel of it. The forecast is coming up. Some good

0:07:18 > 0:07:22news. Yes, spring has sprung. Yesterday it was 18 Celsius. It was

0:07:23 > 0:07:26the warmest day of the year so far for most of Wales. Temperatures are

0:07:27 > 0:07:30not going to be quite as high as that over the next few days but I

0:07:31 > 0:07:35can promise you plenty more dry unsettled weather. Some more

0:07:36 > 0:07:41sunshine as well, but it is not all plain sailing. There is some cloud

0:07:42 > 0:07:50in the mix. If you are a gardener, watch out for a touch of frost. It

0:07:51 > 0:07:57will remain dry and clear, with temperatures falling low enough for

0:07:58 > 0:08:00a touch of frost. Chilly start tomorrow but we have high pressure

0:08:01 > 0:08:04in charge centred over the North Sea. That means more dry weather but

0:08:05 > 0:08:09not sunny everywhere. There will be some cloud around tomorrow morning,

0:08:10 > 0:08:14in parts of the South. Further west you are it will be much brighter,

0:08:15 > 0:08:22with sunshine. Across the rest of the UK, next fortunes. Fog patches

0:08:23 > 0:08:28will lift. Sunshine across the North. A beautiful day in Scotland.

0:08:29 > 0:08:32There will be a lot of clouds but it will brighten up in places. In the

0:08:33 > 0:08:40sunshine it will feel very pleasant indeed. 10 Celsius up in Newcastle.

0:08:41 > 0:08:51In Wales tomorrow afternoon it is looking bright and dry. There will

0:08:52 > 0:09:01be a high of 13 in Aberystwyth. For guaranteed sunshine, head to the

0:09:02 > 0:09:06north and west coast. Tomorrow night, it is looking dry, fairly

0:09:07 > 0:09:13clear but later tonight" become widespread, some mist and fog

0:09:14 > 0:09:21patches. Temperatures will fall low enough for a touch of frost. Chilly

0:09:22 > 0:09:28start on Wednesday. Most of us will eventually see the sun once again.

0:09:29 > 0:09:35It is a similar story on Thursday. Some lovely sunshine. 30 degrees. No

0:09:36 > 0:09:40rain is expected. Some fog patches, some cloud as well. If you are a

0:09:41 > 0:09:50gardener, watch out for a touch of frost. Jeremy Paxman has Newsnight

0:09:51 > 0:10:16on BBC Two. We will be back tomorrow morning. Goodbye.

0:10:17 > 0:10:17with loads of running, swimming and cycling events.

0:10:18 > 0:10:20with loads of running, swimming and cycling events.
