:00:16. > :00:19.Good evening. The Welsh-language broadcaster S4C is to move its

:00:20. > :00:24.headquarters from Cardiff to Carmarthen. They say it will spread

:00:25. > :00:28.economic, cultural and linguistic benefits to more communities. The

:00:29. > :00:31.channel hopes to be in new premises by 2018. More from our Welsh Affairs

:00:32. > :00:47.Editor Vaughan Roderick. Cardiff has been S4C's bays since

:00:48. > :00:50.the channel began broadcasting in 1980. The nation's capital was the

:00:51. > :00:59.right home for a national service, it was argued, and partly because of

:01:00. > :01:05.S4C's presence, Cardiff has had a burgeoning broadcasting sector. The

:01:06. > :01:09.challenge for the authority has been to decide which of the two proposals

:01:10. > :01:14.was the most beneficial for the future of the service. More than

:01:15. > :01:18.three decades on, with its budget cut and its audiences in decline,

:01:19. > :01:24.channel bosses have decided it is time to move on. Carmarthen's

:01:25. > :01:30.presentation and business plan was extremely exciting, it was

:01:31. > :01:38.visionary. It is a vision I hope will provide a springboard for

:01:39. > :01:45.linguistic, economic and a cultural renewal in Carmarthenshire. From

:01:46. > :01:50.2018, this will be S4C's new home. A brand-new building built in

:01:51. > :01:56.partnership with Trinity St David's University. The university hopes it

:01:57. > :02:02.will mean around 150 new jobs for Carmarthenshire. I have no doubt

:02:03. > :02:07.this historic decision will have a major influence not only in

:02:08. > :02:10.clustering in the industry but for developing new initiatives that will

:02:11. > :02:17.have economic impacts, it linguistic impact and a cultural impact for

:02:18. > :02:22.Wales. But Carmarthen's win his can of an's lost. S4C plans to maintain

:02:23. > :02:26.a presence there as well as in Cardiff but it is hoped the new

:02:27. > :02:29.headquarters will help the channel reconnect to its audience.

:02:30. > :02:33.Meanwhile, the ITV Wales studios at Culverhouse Cross near Cardiff are

:02:34. > :02:37.to be demolished to make way for more than 240 homes. Plans to

:02:38. > :02:39.redevelop the site have been approved by Vale of Glamorgan

:02:40. > :02:44.councillors. ITV wants to relocate 100 staff to Cardiff Bay by June.

:02:45. > :02:48.Two leisure centres in Denbighshire will remain closed after the council

:02:49. > :02:52.said it couldn't afford to run them. The Sun Centre in Rhyl and the Nova

:02:53. > :02:55.Centre in Prestatyn shut earlier this year, when Clwyd Leisure, the

:02:56. > :03:00.trust running them, saw its funding from the council cut.

:03:01. > :03:04.Farmers in Wales say they are worried that supermarket promotions

:03:05. > :03:09.on milk will soon leave them out of pocket. Retailers have been slashing

:03:10. > :03:13.the price of milk in a battle for customers but they insist the price

:03:14. > :03:23.at the farm gate won't go down. Abigail Neal has more.

:03:24. > :03:27.Dairy cows for more than a quarter of farm output in Wales. Farmers are

:03:28. > :03:32.worried their product is being devalued. We are getting very

:03:33. > :03:38.concerned about the tactics they are using. They are using milk to drive

:03:39. > :03:43.the price of it down just to get people into the supermarket so they

:03:44. > :03:46.can spend money elsewhere. Unfortunately for farmers, milk is

:03:47. > :03:51.one of those products we as shoppers tend to take note of. Because we use

:03:52. > :03:55.it every week, we noticed a drop in the price and we shot in the stores

:03:56. > :04:00.that offer the greatest discount. This latest cut in the price of milk

:04:01. > :04:04.is not because of a change in the cost of production or because of

:04:05. > :04:12.supply and demand, it is a retail war, you are and simple. It is a

:04:13. > :04:17.good thing. I drink a lot of milk. It is ridiculously cheap. I would

:04:18. > :04:27.built -- pay more for milk if it was OK for Wales. It was Tesco's

:04:28. > :04:32.decision to match the ?1 price last week that triggered a supermarket

:04:33. > :04:37.price war. Within days, Sainsbury's and Waitrose followed suit. And then

:04:38. > :04:45.Morrison is that the auntie by cutting their brand milk to 60 --

:04:46. > :04:53.96p. Retailers say they will take less of a profit and milk producers

:04:54. > :04:58.will not be a fair bit -- affected. The processing factory will get 9p,

:04:59. > :05:02.the farm at 73p with the smaller margin going to the supermarkets,

:05:03. > :05:06.but some doubt they will stick to this. Retailers are not famed for

:05:07. > :05:10.their desire to give the margin voluntarily. Usually one would

:05:11. > :05:14.assume that if this goes on to much longer, the retailers will be

:05:15. > :05:20.looking for someone else to share the pain. With only two other people

:05:21. > :05:28.in the chain, the processes and the farmers. Farmers are quick to vent

:05:29. > :05:32.their frustration. After widespread demonstrations in 2012, the milk

:05:33. > :05:35.price has been rising. If this latest move means it starts to fall

:05:36. > :05:39.again, supermarkets know they could be in for more protests.

:05:40. > :05:42.Welsh businesses are being given a helping hand to export to China

:05:43. > :05:46.after a new organisation was set up to promote links between the two

:05:47. > :05:49.countries. The China-Britain Business Council will work with the

:05:50. > :05:53.South Wales Chamber of Commerce in Newport to tap into the potentially

:05:54. > :06:00.huge market. Last year, Welsh exports to China were worth close to

:06:01. > :06:04.?300 million. Every company needs to understand

:06:05. > :06:08.what is happening in China, even if you are not going to export there.

:06:09. > :06:13.It is the second largest economy in the world. It will soon be the

:06:14. > :06:19.first, so companies need to understand what is happening. The

:06:20. > :06:22.focus of Welsh businesses has largely been Europe, it expanded to

:06:23. > :06:27.the United States and latterly to the Middle East. South-east Asia and

:06:28. > :06:30.China is the next big opportunity. Rugby, and on the eve of the senior

:06:31. > :06:33.teams' meeting at the Millennium Stadium, Wales' Under 20s have ended

:06:34. > :06:38.their Six Nations campaign with a big win over Scotland. In Colwyn Bay

:06:39. > :06:42.tonight, Wales won 43-15. They've finished the championship with three

:06:43. > :06:48.wins and two defeats. There was also one result in the Pro

:06:49. > :06:52.12 tonight. The Scarlets were in Belfast to face Ulster but they lost

:06:53. > :06:57.by 26-13. Scrum-half Gareth Davies scored the Scarlets' only try in the

:06:58. > :07:00.first half. Some cycling news, and Geraint

:07:01. > :07:04.Thomas has lost the lead in the Paris-Nice road race. He finished

:07:05. > :07:10.fourth in today's stage and is now eight seconds behind the leader. The

:07:11. > :07:13.race finishes on Sunday. It was a big day for the singer

:07:14. > :07:17.Katherine Jenkins, who collected her OBE from Prince Charles at

:07:18. > :07:21.Buckingham Palace. The 33-year-old soprano from Neath was given the

:07:22. > :07:26.honour for services to music and her charity work.

:07:27. > :07:28.It looks like being a dry weekend for many of us. Derek, is here with

:07:29. > :07:39.the full forecast. Plenty of dry weather to come this

:07:40. > :07:44.weekend. It has been a trying week thanks to high pressure, some

:07:45. > :07:47.sunshine and fog. Not expecting too much in the way of this weekend

:07:48. > :07:54.because we are in for more of a breeze, but plenty of Welsh --

:07:55. > :07:59.weather. It is looking drive for the rest of the night. Most of the fog

:08:00. > :08:05.confined to the higher ground and mountings. We should escape a frost

:08:06. > :08:11.tonight. Temperatures staying well above freezing, no long -- lower

:08:12. > :08:16.than five Celsius. High pressure is centred over the Atlantic tomorrow.

:08:17. > :08:22.More isobars, you will notice, across the UK, which does mean

:08:23. > :08:27.slightly stronger winds. It should be a dry morning for us in Wales.

:08:28. > :08:30.There will be some low cloud and missed first thing but that cloud

:08:31. > :08:36.will start to break. Some sunshine in Pembrokeshire. Across the rest of

:08:37. > :08:42.the UK, it is going to be a breezy day. Strong winds for Scotland and

:08:43. > :08:47.North East England. Most of the rain in the north and west of Scotland.

:08:48. > :08:53.Otherwise dry with a mixture of cloud and sunshine. A top

:08:54. > :08:58.temperature in London of 16 Celsius. That will feel pleasantly warm. It

:08:59. > :09:03.should be a nice afternoon close to home. Some good spells of sunshine.

:09:04. > :09:16.A little bit more in the way of cloud for Snowdonia. It is looking

:09:17. > :09:22.like being a livery after noon in Cardiff tomorrow for the rugby. Lots

:09:23. > :09:26.of rugby -- sunshine. Tomorrow evening generally dry and clear and

:09:27. > :09:31.then overnight cloud will start to increase. A few spots of drizzle in

:09:32. > :09:39.the north and north-west. Sunday, plenty of cloud. Otherwise dry and

:09:40. > :09:43.sunshine in Monmouthshire. More dry weather for the start of next week

:09:44. > :09:45.but eventually we will see some rain and stronger winds by the end of the

:09:46. > :09:51.week. And that is Wales Today. Our first

:09:52. > :09:54.bulletin of the weekend is just after midday tomorrow. From all of

:09:55. > :09:56.us here, have a good weekend. Good night.
