:00:00. > :00:16.BBC News Channel, but now on BBC One, it's

:00:17. > :00:23.Good evening. Labour MP Ann Clwyd is calling for the resignation of the

:00:24. > :00:26.Chair and Chief Executive of the Cardiff and Vale University Health

:00:27. > :00:29.Board. She claims the board released private information on the

:00:30. > :00:31.investigation into the death of her late husband at the University

:00:32. > :00:39.Hospital Wales. Our Welsh affairs editor, Vaughan Roderick, joins me

:00:40. > :00:45.now. What exactly is she claiming? This

:00:46. > :00:49.all goes back to the death of her husband. At the time, she made a

:00:50. > :00:54.number of public complaints about the way he had been treated in his

:00:55. > :00:58.last days in the hospital, and she also made an official complaint. An

:00:59. > :01:03.investigation has been carried out, and Ann Clwyd is happy that the

:01:04. > :01:07.health board has decided in response to a Freedom of information request

:01:08. > :01:12.to publish the conclusion of that report. Not the entire report, but

:01:13. > :01:17.part of it. She says that infringes on both her pussy and her husband's

:01:18. > :01:22.privity. She says the chair and the Chief Executive of the board need to

:01:23. > :01:30.consider their position. Have the health board responded? Yes, they

:01:31. > :01:33.said they received a number of Freedom of information requests

:01:34. > :01:37.asking for the report in its entirety. Those they turned down out

:01:38. > :01:41.of respect to Ann Clwyd. Then they said they had a request for a

:01:42. > :01:46.summary of the report, and they felt it was correct to release the

:01:47. > :01:49.conclusion of the report, along with information that was already in the

:01:50. > :01:54.public domain. Ann Clwyd says she will take the information to the

:01:55. > :01:56.commissioner and that she is consulting her solicitors about

:01:57. > :01:58.possible legal action. Politicians are absorbing today's

:01:59. > :02:03.budget announcements by Chancellor George Osborne. Pensioners and

:02:04. > :02:06.savers are the big winners. The Chancellor also some found some

:02:07. > :02:09.money to assist Welsh business. There'll be ?240 million in

:02:10. > :02:12.compensation for 16 companies based in Wales that have very high energy

:02:13. > :02:17.bills, including Tata Steel in Port Talbot. The Welsh government will

:02:18. > :02:20.receive an extra ?36 million to spend over the next two years,

:02:21. > :02:24.that's 0.1% of their ?15 billion budget. And, a new regional air fund

:02:25. > :02:26.is being set up to encourage airlines to start flying new routes

:02:27. > :02:33.from regional airports, like Cardiff. Meanwhile, as George

:02:34. > :02:35.Osborne says the economy's recovering faster than forecast,

:02:36. > :02:39.it's emerged the unemployment rate in Wales has fallen more than in any

:02:40. > :02:48.other part of the UK. Sarah Dickins has been looking in detail at the

:02:49. > :02:52.figures. Hydro industries in Carmarthenshire

:02:53. > :02:57.is a small business that is growing quickly. They have gone from zero to

:02:58. > :03:06.30 employees -- interweave in three years. The kind of skilled jobs

:03:07. > :03:11.Wales needs more of. We can produce a lot of drinking water with a very

:03:12. > :03:17.low power consumption. We estimate around about 100 systems this

:03:18. > :03:23.calendar year will be out in India, and we estimate around 1500 systems

:03:24. > :03:29.by September next year. Today's unemployment rate of 6.7% is below

:03:30. > :03:33.the UK average. In the last year, Wales has seen the largest increase

:03:34. > :03:37.in people working of all the nations and regions of the UK. While

:03:38. > :03:41.today's figures show unemployment is down by 12,000 on last month's

:03:42. > :03:46.figures, there has only been an increase of 1000 in the number of

:03:47. > :03:51.people actually in work. 12,000 less unemployed doesn't necessarily mean

:03:52. > :03:55.12,000 new jobs. We have pockets of high levels of economic inactivity

:03:56. > :03:59.in Wales. These people are not looking for jobs, they are not in

:04:00. > :04:04.the jobs market. They may not be employed because they are suffering

:04:05. > :04:07.from ill health, they may have caring responsibilities, or they may

:04:08. > :04:13.have made a conscious decision to take themselves out of the labour

:04:14. > :04:17.market. In practice, both the UK and Welsh government have initiatives to

:04:18. > :04:22.increase employment. Selling Wales abroad, bringing investment into

:04:23. > :04:28.Wales, the fact that we are exporting far more now than we

:04:29. > :04:32.were, making sure that opportunities are there for young people so they

:04:33. > :04:37.have a chance of getting a job. We have seen the UK Government scheme

:04:38. > :04:41.of the national insurance plans coming in. That provides an

:04:42. > :04:48.incentive for businesses. That also encourages people to take on staff.

:04:49. > :04:51.Implement rate in Wales are growing three times faster than the UK

:04:52. > :04:54.average. The exam board at the centre of

:04:55. > :04:57.concerns about the low results of GCSE English Language papers sat in

:04:58. > :05:01.January, says it's ordered a re-grade of some papers. But the

:05:02. > :05:03.WJEC says, fewer than 1% of papers will be re-graded after they

:05:04. > :05:06.identified inconsistencies with one examiner. Health bosses in South

:05:07. > :05:11.Wales have agreed plans, to centralise some specialist services

:05:12. > :05:14.at five hospitals. It means consultant led care for children,

:05:15. > :05:17.mothers and newborn babies, as well as high level A services will be

:05:18. > :05:22.removed from the Royal Glamorgan hospital in Llantrisant. Cwm Taf

:05:23. > :05:25.University Health Board, which runs the hospital, had rejected the

:05:26. > :05:33.proposals last month but now all five health boards involved say

:05:34. > :05:35.they're in agreement. Two Christians accused of

:05:36. > :05:38.discriminating against gay couples at their guesthouse in Powys say

:05:39. > :05:42.they're taking their case to the European Court of Human Rights. Jeff

:05:43. > :05:45.and Sue Green received a complaint that their policy of only allowing

:05:46. > :05:55.married couples to book double rooms was unlawful. Charlotte Dubenskij

:05:56. > :06:01.reports. Practising Christians Jeff and Sue

:06:02. > :06:05.Green have been running the guesthouse for 11 years. Until

:06:06. > :06:10.recently, they had only allowed married couples to book rooms with

:06:11. > :06:14.double beds. Last year, the equality and human rights commission wrote to

:06:15. > :06:19.the couple, saying it was unlawful to discriminate on the grounds of

:06:20. > :06:24.sexual orientation. A similar case was heard at the Supreme Court in

:06:25. > :06:28.the UK last year. Hoteliers Peter and Hazel bought from Cornwall were

:06:29. > :06:31.found to have discriminated unlawfully against a same-sex couple

:06:32. > :06:38.by refusing to give them a double room. But that ruling has not

:06:39. > :06:43.deterred the Dreams. We hope to achieve recognition of our personal

:06:44. > :06:49.faith, our Christian lease and our human rights, alongside the new

:06:50. > :06:55.equality laws being brought in by Westminster. In a statement, the

:06:56. > :07:10.equality and human rights commission said:

:07:11. > :07:15.Gay rights campaigners say it is only right that cases like this are

:07:16. > :07:20.highlighted. It is a key part of the law in this

:07:21. > :07:23.country that says you cannot discriminate on grounds of sexual

:07:24. > :07:29.orientation when providing goods and services. I believe that is an

:07:30. > :07:33.example. The couple say they have never turned anyone away from their

:07:34. > :07:39.guesthouse because of their sexual orientation. They say they just want

:07:40. > :07:42.to know if there is space for their Christian beliefs within the public

:07:43. > :07:45.and private sector. Wrexham caretaker boss Billy Barr

:07:46. > :07:48.has not been offered the role on a permanent basis and will leave the

:07:49. > :07:51.club with immediate effect. Barr, who has been in charge since

:07:52. > :07:54.Andy Morrell's departure, was interviewed for the vacant position.

:07:55. > :07:56.But Wrexham confirmed Barr is not in contention for the role following a

:07:57. > :07:59.final round of interviews. Meanwhile, Newport County have lost

:08:00. > :08:10.1-2 in their League two match against Dagenham and Redbridge.

:08:11. > :08:15.There is a big change on the way. Rain, strong winds and Wales, and

:08:16. > :08:19.turning colder everywhere by Friday. The night, plenty of cloud with a

:08:20. > :08:24.feud spots of light rain and drizzle. Otherwise dry. A wheezy

:08:25. > :08:29.night, up to gale force in the north-west, with the lowest

:08:30. > :08:35.temperature five Celsius in Wrexham. Tomorrow, and active front bringing

:08:36. > :08:40.in some heavy rain. Lots of ice bars, which means strong winds. Make

:08:41. > :08:43.the most of the dry weather tomorrow morning. A little sunshine in

:08:44. > :08:54.places, just a feud spots of drizzle. -- a feud spots. Across the

:08:55. > :08:58.rest of the UK, wet and windy across Scotland and Northern Ireland. The

:08:59. > :09:03.rain slowly moving south eastwards during the day. However, south-east

:09:04. > :09:08.England and East Anglia will stay dry and bright. A high of 16 in

:09:09. > :09:13.Norwich, but behind the rain, turning colder in the north and west

:09:14. > :09:19.with showers. The rain will reach Cardiff by about 2pm. Rain and

:09:20. > :09:22.blustery winds for Wales tomorrow afternoon. Gradually turning drier

:09:23. > :09:31.later on into the afternoon and evening. Friday will be truly and --

:09:32. > :09:35.Chile and breezy. Maybe some hail and thunder, and turning wintry and

:09:36. > :09:42.higher ground. A cold and breezy weekend. Hale and thunder possible,

:09:43. > :09:48.even some snow on some of the hills and mountains. Watch out for Frost

:09:49. > :09:51.if you are a gardener. That's all for now. Next, there's a

:09:52. > :09:54.Crimewatch Update, followed by a special Wales Report with Huw

:09:55. > :09:57.Edwards from Westminster, who'll be discussing the Budget and what it

:09:58. > :10:01.means for the Welsh economy. Goodbye.
