:00:00. > :00:16.Welcome to Wales Today our top story: 600 jobs go in Newport.

:00:17. > :00:20.There's anger at this bakery. Why couldn't they find new customers

:00:21. > :00:24.after losing M's business? Absolutely gutted, that is all I can

:00:25. > :00:28.say. Do soldiers wait longer for treatment in Wales than elsewhere in

:00:29. > :00:32.the UK? The war of words intensifies.

:00:33. > :00:37.Why we need this lot, particularly the girls, to take up engineering to

:00:38. > :00:43.drive our economy. Your house may be getting a water meter installed, if

:00:44. > :00:46.it hasn't already got one. In tonight's sport: the fans' faces

:00:47. > :00:59.say it all. With only five games left, is Cardiff City's time in the

:01:00. > :01:07.Premier League almost up? Good evening. Workers and unions

:01:08. > :01:11.have reacted angrily to the news that 640 jobs are to go after a

:01:12. > :01:14.bakery in Newport announced it's to close. Local politicians have

:01:15. > :01:23.described the move by Avana as utterly devastating and an act of

:01:24. > :01:26.ingratitude. The company said in February jobs were under threat,

:01:27. > :01:33.after it lost a major Marks and Spencer contract. Jordan Davies

:01:34. > :01:38.reports. Andrew has been working at the Avana

:01:39. > :01:44.bakery in Newport for 22 years. Today he was told it is going to

:01:45. > :01:50.close. What do you think you will do now? I will be 60 this year. Always

:01:51. > :01:58.going to employ me? That is the thing. I view full you won't find

:01:59. > :02:04.work? Yes. I live at in the valleys and there is nothing up there. It is

:02:05. > :02:08.a kick in the teeth really. As workers left today, they said they

:02:09. > :02:14.were angry but not surprised. Two months ago the bakery said many of

:02:15. > :02:18.the jobs here were under threat. They had lost a multi-million pound

:02:19. > :02:24.Marks Spencer K contract that accounted for 80% of its work. The

:02:25. > :02:30.bakery 's owners began a period of consultation with staff and looked

:02:31. > :02:34.for new customers. Now, as that period comes to an end, they have

:02:35. > :02:39.announced the site is to shut. But union officials say they understand

:02:40. > :02:44.the bakery is still in talks with a potential big customer. The company

:02:45. > :02:47.is still talking to a big customer. We are hopeful that they will do

:02:48. > :02:51.business with Avana but at this moment in time, the thing is

:02:52. > :02:56.forthcoming and the company has made the decision to make the

:02:57. > :02:59.announcement. I phoned the parent company today to see if they would

:03:00. > :03:03.put anyone up for interview. They said no one would be available to

:03:04. > :03:08.speak that sent a statement saying they fully explored all the options

:03:09. > :03:13.available but have not been able to find a way to keep the site viable.

:03:14. > :03:19.Avana has been making cakes for decades. Today's news was described

:03:20. > :03:27.in the local MP is an act of ingratitude following years of fine

:03:28. > :03:30.service. Avana have not been able to replace the massive M contract it

:03:31. > :03:36.relied on for years. The company that owns this bakery now says it

:03:37. > :03:41.will try and minimise the amount of compulsory redundancies before this

:03:42. > :03:45.site closes for good this summer. Do soldiers wait longer for treatment

:03:46. > :03:48.in Wales than elsewhere in the UK? The Welsh Government has questioned

:03:49. > :03:52.the accuracy of the record of a meeting, in which the most senior

:03:53. > :03:55.doctor in the armed forces raised concerns about NHS waiting times for

:03:56. > :03:58.injured soldiers in Wales. The Ministry of Defence says the minutes

:03:59. > :04:01.were agreed by everyone and all it wants to do is ensure consistent

:04:02. > :04:15.treatment for soldiers across the UK. Here's our Political Editor Nick

:04:16. > :04:18.Servini. Soldiers returning from Afghanistan

:04:19. > :04:22.marched through the streets of Haverfordwest. Many of course come

:04:23. > :04:25.back injured and it is their treatment in the Welsh NHS which is

:04:26. > :04:30.at the centre of a high-profile political battle. At its heart is

:04:31. > :04:34.what was or was not said at a routine meeting of the UK and Welsh

:04:35. > :04:38.Government officials on care for Armed Forces personnel. A partial

:04:39. > :04:43.account of the meeting has been released. In it, the Armed Forces

:04:44. > :04:48.most senior medical officer says there were personnel facing longer

:04:49. > :04:55.waiting times in Wales than elsewhere. He also noted the example

:04:56. > :04:57.of patients being treated quicker thanks to referrals across borders.

:04:58. > :05:02.The Welsh Government claims the minutes released are not accurate

:05:03. > :05:08.and it is all part of a Conservative lead political campaign to discredit

:05:09. > :05:14.Labour 's handling of the NHS. What happened is there was a meeting in

:05:15. > :05:18.London. Minutes were then leaked to the press by the Ministry of defence

:05:19. > :05:22.is a way of getting back at us. We find that is professional and

:05:23. > :05:28.unacceptable and it means that they are trying to politicise something

:05:29. > :05:35.on a story that was the never there. One Labour MP agrees. What is

:05:36. > :05:39.interesting is that no minister has got their fingerprints on this. It

:05:40. > :05:44.is sources close to a senior military official, there is nobody

:05:45. > :05:52.willing to stand up and say, I think this is what is happening. I think

:05:53. > :05:55.this is a ministry of dirty tricks. The Defence Secretary Philip Hammond

:05:56. > :05:59.says he will support the Surgeon General if he has concerns about

:06:00. > :06:04.waiting times in Wales. The Conservatives say action needs to be

:06:05. > :06:07.taken. It is not good enough for my constituents, it is certainly not

:06:08. > :06:13.good enough for the Army, but over and above all, it undermines the

:06:14. > :06:16.military. They have the right to deserve prompt and efficient

:06:17. > :06:20.treatment, amongst the best in the world. That is sadly not happening

:06:21. > :06:26.in Wales. It is a scandal. The state of the NHS is always an emotive

:06:27. > :06:30.subject. The treatment of soldiers makes it even more so. Nick Servini

:06:31. > :06:33.joins us now. So, Nick, is the Welsh Government right to say it's

:06:34. > :06:36.politically motivated and there's no foundation to these claims?

:06:37. > :06:43.It is certainly true to say that it is being used by their political

:06:44. > :06:45.opponents. I guess the question is, pardon the pun, whether the Welsh

:06:46. > :06:49.Government is giving them the ammunition. I think the Welsh

:06:50. > :06:54.Government to have a point when they say there are no concrete examples

:06:55. > :06:58.of Welsh soldiers who have been injured in service overseas waiting

:06:59. > :07:01.for treatment. And they also have a point when they say this is just one

:07:02. > :07:09.extract of what was presumably a long and detailed meeting. But at

:07:10. > :07:12.the same time, the Ministry of Defence officials say the minute was

:07:13. > :07:22.agreed by everyone there and they also make the point that the UK

:07:23. > :07:26.Government was responding to a Freedom of information request.

:07:27. > :07:31.There does appear to be a bit of a pattern. I am sure that many people

:07:32. > :07:35.will be aware that we are talking about disputes in terms of health

:07:36. > :07:40.but also in terms of transport, all sorts of projects, and there seems

:07:41. > :07:47.to be a reluctance or an inability to resolve many issues to be hanged

:07:48. > :07:51.the scenes. -- behind the scenes. The widow of a man, who died in the

:07:52. > :07:54.Hillsborough disaster, has told an inquest jury how he dreamt of being

:07:55. > :07:57.the best daddy ever. 25-year-old Steven Brown, from Holt, near

:07:58. > :08:02.Wrexham, died when his wife was six months pregnant with their daughter.

:08:03. > :08:05.Sarah Brown, on the left, told the hearing in Warrington of the void he

:08:06. > :08:09.had left in their lives. A council officer has told a court

:08:10. > :08:13.he wanted the Gleision mine, where four men died in September 2011,

:08:14. > :08:16.closed down. Alan Rees who works at Neath Port Talbot Council says he

:08:17. > :08:19.reported concerns twice in 2009 and March 2011 and enforcement action

:08:20. > :08:21.was considered. Manager Malcolm Fyfield denies manslaughter through

:08:22. > :08:28.gross negligence, while the mine's operators deny corporate

:08:29. > :08:31.manslaughter. The First Minister has visited Murco

:08:32. > :08:35.Oil refinery in Milford Haven to discuss options for keeping hundreds

:08:36. > :08:38.of jobs at the site. The oil refinery faces closure with the

:08:39. > :08:42.threat of up to 400 job losses after talks broke down with a potential

:08:43. > :08:45.buyer. The owners, Murphy Oil, entered into consultation with staff

:08:46. > :08:47.last week after a private equity firm pulled out of a possible

:08:48. > :08:51.buyout. Work has begun in St Asaph to build

:08:52. > :08:55.temporary flood barriers that can be put in place quickly when there is a

:08:56. > :08:59.risk of flooding. One person died and 400 homes were evacuated, when

:09:00. > :09:01.the River Elwy burst its banks there two years ago.

:09:02. > :09:07.Our economy could suffer unless we produce more engineers. The Royal

:09:08. > :09:10.Academy of Engineers says, we need at least an extra 2,500 more

:09:11. > :09:14.graduates for so-called STEM subjects every year. Today, an event

:09:15. > :09:17.has been held in Newport to try and encourage children to take up

:09:18. > :09:26.subjects like science and maths. Here's our education Correspondent,

:09:27. > :09:30.Arwyn Jones. Blink and you will miss it. These

:09:31. > :09:33.drag racing cars have been designed and built by primary school children

:09:34. > :09:38.across South Wales. Secondary schools have had challenges set to

:09:39. > :09:46.them by local businesses. A have all had to use STEM subjects to solve

:09:47. > :09:52.problems. They say the education of today is the economy of tomorrow.

:09:53. > :09:55.Judging by today's competitors, the STEM subjects in Wales are in pretty

:09:56. > :10:04.safe hands. At the challenges to turn the enthusiasm of an NZ like

:10:05. > :10:08.this into bums on seats. There is a big shortage of girls studying these

:10:09. > :10:17.courses. Some schools find it easier than

:10:18. > :10:20.others. To -- I have a bit of an idea about what is behind it.

:10:21. > :10:25.I just love hands-on projects. I think that is what engineering is

:10:26. > :10:31.all about. People might say, I will try medicine, law, but it will not

:10:32. > :10:37.say they will try this because it is male dominated. She knows what it is

:10:38. > :10:41.like to break into a profession. Last year Jessica Jones became the

:10:42. > :10:45.first woman to win the UK engineer of the year competition. She could

:10:46. > :10:50.have gone down a very different path.

:10:51. > :10:53.When I was 15, I saw the careers adviser and said I wanted to be a

:10:54. > :10:58.software engineer and they told me to go and be a journalist. I think

:10:59. > :11:02.it was just that they did not have that knowledge of what engineering

:11:03. > :11:05.was like and they did not think I would not want to be in dirty

:11:06. > :11:10.overalls. We need better careers advice. We need more of these

:11:11. > :11:12.youngsters to get into STEM subjects.

:11:13. > :11:23.Many of our engineers are retiring. Coupled with an increase in demand,

:11:24. > :11:27.we need more graduates every year. It could be very serious. We are in

:11:28. > :11:36.this global market now for skills. And with increasing global

:11:37. > :11:41.manufacturing supply chains. It is a very real threat to the UK economy.

:11:42. > :11:46.Our universities are stepping up to the mark. At Swansea, the new campus

:11:47. > :11:52.is focused largely on engineering. He saw that the demand was there.

:11:53. > :11:59.Demand for engineers held up through the recession. We would expect to

:12:00. > :12:05.see a huge increase in demand. There is massive opportunities for young

:12:06. > :12:08.people now. We clearly need to ensure a healthy supply of

:12:09. > :12:13.engineering graduates and if we can get that right, it really could help

:12:14. > :12:22.our economy to take off. Much more to come before 7pm.

:12:23. > :12:29.A hammering, is that the e-mail in the Coffin for Cardiff City? The

:12:30. > :12:32.manager says they need a miracle now -- the mailing the Coffin.

:12:33. > :12:37.And the Welsh film director who wowed audiences around the world

:12:38. > :12:42.with his movie The Raid returns with the sequel.

:12:43. > :12:45.Your home could get a water meter, if you haven't already got one,

:12:46. > :12:49.under Welsh Government plans. On average we use 50% more water per

:12:50. > :12:52.person than we did 25 years ago and as the population grows, supplies

:12:53. > :12:54.are under increasing pressure. Amid concerns about climate change, the

:12:55. > :13:04.Government says, it's important to manage our water for the future.

:13:05. > :13:09.Cemlyn Davies reports. It is one thing we seem to have

:13:10. > :13:15.plenty of in this country. But the Welsh Government Cesar water must be

:13:16. > :13:18.carefully managed so our long-term domestic needs can be met. And that

:13:19. > :13:23.is why the natural resources Minister has launched a consultation

:13:24. > :13:29.on how best to manage Wales is water. Alun Davies unveiled the

:13:30. > :13:31.plans at a school in Llanelli. It already has its own sustainable

:13:32. > :13:36.water management scheme to reduce the risk of flooding. We have all

:13:37. > :13:42.seen the impact of flooding and high rainfall over the last few weeks and

:13:43. > :13:46.months. We know this will happen more in the future than it has

:13:47. > :13:53.happened in the past. That means we need to be smarter in the way we

:13:54. > :13:59.manage water. This is the governments vision, the

:14:00. > :14:02.playground at this school has been transformed to accommodate a

:14:03. > :14:07.specially designed drainage system which gathers and absorbs water,

:14:08. > :14:11.preventing it from simply running off the schoolyard and the sewer

:14:12. > :14:16.network. We have an underground reservoir in

:14:17. > :14:22.the car parked and various other small reservoirs that are holding

:14:23. > :14:28.water. So far, we have managed to reduce the amount of water to 5000

:14:29. > :14:32.cubic metres already from 10,000. At the heart of the government 's water

:14:33. > :14:39.strategy is a proposal to have a meter in every home.

:14:40. > :14:41.Dwr Cymru Welsh Water says it has some 800,000 unmetered customers.

:14:42. > :14:49.Like all houses built in the last 14 years, this couple 's home does have

:14:50. > :14:53.a water meter. I think you are a bit more conscious about using water.

:14:54. > :14:57.You do not leave the tap running, you switch it off. And in terms of

:14:58. > :15:02.your bills, do you find you are spending less? I think so, yes.

:15:03. > :15:05.The committee says it was ensure those on lowering cows would not

:15:06. > :15:11.face higher bills as it tries to encourage us not to waste our most

:15:12. > :15:15.valuable resource -- lower incomes. The judge has begun summing up in

:15:16. > :15:18.the trial of the former shadow Welsh Secretary Nigel Evans. Earlier the

:15:19. > :15:21.jury heard the Swansea born MPs defence team deliver its closing

:15:22. > :15:24.argument. Mr Evans denies nine charges including rape and sexual

:15:25. > :15:35.assault. Matthew Richards is at Preston law courts. What were the

:15:36. > :15:39.jury told today? Nigel Evans 's defence barrister

:15:40. > :15:42.started off the day by saying he felt there were inconsistencies in

:15:43. > :15:46.some of the testimonies from the alleged it -- victims. There are

:15:47. > :15:53.seven men and most of them knew Nigel Evans. The allegation stretch

:15:54. > :15:59.over a period of ten years. Regarding the rape allegation, the

:16:00. > :16:03.defence said the man picking that allegation had consensual relations

:16:04. > :16:08.with Nigel Evans and had regretted it afterwards. He also said he had

:16:09. > :16:13.changed his story between talking to the police and giving evidence in

:16:14. > :16:16.court. He said as far as the other indecent assaults were concerned,

:16:17. > :16:21.these men were not victims of crime, they were victims of

:16:22. > :16:24.overfamiliarity. The judge started his summing up and he will continue

:16:25. > :16:27.the bulk of that tomorrow. It's one of the world's biggest

:16:28. > :16:30.economies, but Wales is behind other parts of the UK in trading with

:16:31. > :16:33.Brazil. The Brazilian ambassador was visiting Cardiff to encourage

:16:34. > :16:36.companies here to do business with his country, which is hosting the

:16:37. > :16:43.World Cup this summer. Here's our business correspondent, Brian

:16:44. > :16:48.Meechan. A population of over 200 million and

:16:49. > :16:52.a growing economy, Brazil is an increasingly important player on the

:16:53. > :16:57.world stage. There was more than ?500 million British trade over the

:16:58. > :17:00.recent three-month period but only 18 million of that came from Wales.

:17:01. > :17:04.It is a market that companies are trying to break into. This company

:17:05. > :17:10.Manufacturer 's products including wallets that keep medicines call.

:17:11. > :17:16.They have two evaluate the product, it has to fit into a specific class

:17:17. > :17:22.of medical products, which range between up to four years for

:17:23. > :17:24.registration, but luckily we fit into the lower category.

:17:25. > :17:29.It has only taken about eight months. Exporting to Brazil can be

:17:30. > :17:37.challenging, according to this business, which sells beer across

:17:38. > :17:40.the world. But it is worth pursuing. The economy has been growing

:17:41. > :17:47.significantly over the last 15 years and what that has created is a

:17:48. > :17:51.very... Emerging and aspirational middle-class who are increasingly

:17:52. > :17:55.looking for premium imported brands. The Brazilian ambassador

:17:56. > :18:00.came to the Cardiff business club to talk about the opportunities

:18:01. > :18:02.available. Some firms mentioned language and time zones as

:18:03. > :18:08.difficulties with entering the market. The ambassador told us that

:18:09. > :18:14.the doors are open for business. Energy consumption is growing

:18:15. > :18:16.significantly. Education requirements are very big. Health,

:18:17. > :18:21.there is a big health programme in Brazil. An enormous opportunity for

:18:22. > :18:27.those to invest. And other sectors that can be very attractive as well.

:18:28. > :18:31.Brazil is synonymous with football and December it hosts the World Cup.

:18:32. > :18:35.A further chance for businesses to make inroads into the market.

:18:36. > :18:38.Increasing exports to emerging economies like Brazil could

:18:39. > :18:41.potentially have a major impact on Wales, more jobs and prospective

:18:42. > :18:47.being up for grabs. Sport in a minute first let me tell

:18:48. > :18:50.you about tomorrow's programme. Offa's Dyke stretches from Chepstow

:18:51. > :18:54.to Prestatyn - the one time boundary between Wales and the Saxon kingdom

:18:55. > :18:57.of Mercia. But now there's evidence it may be 200 years older than

:18:58. > :19:00.previously thought and may not have been built by King Offa at all. More

:19:01. > :19:05.tomorrow at 6:30pm. Back to tonight and Claire with the

:19:06. > :19:09.sport. Good evening. Cardiff City's manager and captain

:19:10. > :19:12.admit they now need a miracle to avoid relegation from the Premier

:19:13. > :19:16.League. Have a look at how things stand. The 3-0 defeat to Crystal

:19:17. > :19:22.Palace leaves them in deep trouble - six points from safety.

:19:23. > :19:28.Swansea City are still not out of danger. Their 1-0 defeat to Hull

:19:29. > :19:31.leaves them only six points clear of the drop. And worth noting Cardiff

:19:32. > :19:33.will go bottom tonight, if Sunderland get any points at

:19:34. > :19:36.Tottenham. There are five games left.

:19:37. > :19:40.I'm now joined by our football correspondent, Rob Phillips. Let's

:19:41. > :19:45.start with Cardiff. They are talking about miracles. You watched them

:19:46. > :19:49.Saturday. Is it all over? You would have to say not just the

:19:50. > :19:52.result but the actual performance on Saturday was so bad that a miracle

:19:53. > :19:58.is probably definitely what they need. I do not think a manager has

:19:59. > :20:01.ever spoken a truer word. 15 points to be played for but they will not

:20:02. > :20:05.give up but at the end, I was running out of words to describe

:20:06. > :20:13.just how bad it was. Crystal Palace looked just more organised. Cardiff

:20:14. > :20:16.looked almost shambolic. When the second goal went in, the writing was

:20:17. > :20:22.on the wall and maybe that was the mailing the Coffin. We can have a

:20:23. > :20:27.look at the running. Five games left. They could go to an tonight

:20:28. > :20:31.without playing. Yes, just when you think things cannot go any worse.

:20:32. > :20:34.Southampton away on Saturday is really difficult.

:20:35. > :20:43.They have Stoke city and Chelsea at home. Maybe Cardiff can take it to

:20:44. > :20:46.the last game, Chelsea may be going for the Premier league title? I

:20:47. > :20:52.think the key will be the away games against Newcastle and Sunderland.

:20:53. > :20:56.But it really looks eight ask beyond then given what they showed on

:20:57. > :20:58.Saturday. Let's have a look at Swansea City as well. Many people

:20:59. > :21:03.thought that they would be definitely safe by now but the

:21:04. > :21:07.pressure is definitely on. They could have done without the defeat

:21:08. > :21:10.on the weekend but I still think that 33 points may even now be

:21:11. > :21:14.enough to keep them up. I think one more win will definitely do it. You

:21:15. > :21:17.have to say that Swansea have a very small goal difference which is much

:21:18. > :21:21.better than any of those around them. The single figure goal

:21:22. > :21:27.difference is almost worth another point to them. I think Swansea

:21:28. > :21:32.City, it may be a squeak, but I think they will be fine. I expect

:21:33. > :21:35.them to pick up more than enough points in the remaining games. Let's

:21:36. > :21:39.have a look at their remaining fixtures. It is a big win on Sunday.

:21:40. > :21:45.Chelsea. That is a worrying one. But

:21:46. > :21:49.Newcastle away, they are in freefall at the moment. Aston Villa and

:21:50. > :21:53.Southampton at home. You would expect Swansea to pick up something

:21:54. > :21:57.in at least one of those games. I do not see it going to the last game

:21:58. > :22:02.for Swansea City. But then again, there have been so many twists and

:22:03. > :22:04.turns this season. We have run out of time but there is printable

:22:05. > :22:07.football tonight. Yes, on Radio Wales. -- plenty more

:22:08. > :22:17.foot all tonight. Just three months before the

:22:18. > :22:20.Commonwealth Games, triathlete Helen Jenkins has made an impressive

:22:21. > :22:23.return to top-flight racing. The former World Champion from Bridgend

:22:24. > :22:26.finished third at the World Series event in Auckland. It was her first

:22:27. > :22:29.major race since the London Olympics, where she was struggling

:22:30. > :22:32.with an injury that went undiagnosed for a year.

:22:33. > :22:37.I am so happy. I have been picking up the training gradually and I have

:22:38. > :22:40.had such a great team around me. To be honest, I did not expect to get

:22:41. > :22:44.on the podium but I am so happy to be here.

:22:45. > :22:50.Nice to see her. Cricket and less than 13 overs were possible in

:22:51. > :22:51.Glamorgan 's match against Surrey. They still managed to take a couple

:22:52. > :23:03.of wickets. He's the Welsh film director making

:23:04. > :23:07.waves in the world of action films. Gareth Evans from Hirwaun is about

:23:08. > :23:11.to release a sequel to his critical and commercial success The Raid.

:23:12. > :23:14.Filmed in Indonesia, the high speed stunts and inventive action helped

:23:15. > :23:18.that film find an audience across the world. Sachin Krishnan reports.

:23:19. > :23:22.My name is Gareth Evans and they make Indonesian people beat each

:23:23. > :23:26.other up for a living. There is more to Gareth Evans than just that. The

:23:27. > :23:31.director from Wales has been described as the best action

:23:32. > :23:35.director currently working. The Raid II is the sequel to the film that

:23:36. > :23:40.made his name. Despite many other offers, he said he was not tempted

:23:41. > :23:44.to put the film on the back burner. I wanted to make this more than

:23:45. > :23:49.anything else. It would have to be something ridiculously special

:23:50. > :23:52.foreword to give up this one. Once we knew we could make this one, it

:23:53. > :23:57.was the meeting I wanted to do. After struggling to make an impact

:23:58. > :24:00.in the UK, his film-making career took off after a move to Indonesia,

:24:01. > :24:05.where he has now settled with a family.

:24:06. > :24:11.It is where my career took off. If I'm able to pop into different

:24:12. > :24:18.countries and make films back and forth, I will be a happy man. The

:24:19. > :24:20.Raid was a critical and commercial hit across the world. The

:24:21. > :24:24.anticipation for this newest instalment was evident adding a

:24:25. > :24:30.bratpack screenings in London. -- at a number of packed screenings. It is

:24:31. > :24:33.such a different style, it stands out.

:24:34. > :24:39.It is so different. The action itself is unique. It has these

:24:40. > :24:44.little quirks to it. Despite the claim, it is still to

:24:45. > :24:49.home that Gareth Evans often turns for advice. His love of film was

:24:50. > :24:55.fostered watching films with his father.

:24:56. > :24:59.Yes, he is very happy. Both my parents are very proud of me. Like

:25:00. > :25:05.its predecessor, The Raid II will not be for everyone but it is

:25:06. > :25:08.another example of a unique film making talent continuing to make his

:25:09. > :25:10.mark. The perennial favourite, the

:25:11. > :25:13.weather, starring Derek next tonight. What have you got for us?

:25:14. > :25:19.Good news. I think we've seen the worst of the rain for a while. The

:25:20. > :25:25.next few days are looking much drier. Some sunshine. Not that warm,

:25:26. > :25:28.though with a cool breeze and a few chilly nights. The radar shows

:25:29. > :25:31.today's rain moving north and east across the country. Some heavy rain

:25:32. > :25:34.too clearing later in the afternoon. So brighter this evening but with

:25:35. > :25:38.scattered heavy showers. Most places dry after midnight. Breezy,

:25:39. > :25:41.especially on the coast and a colder night than recently. Temperatures in

:25:42. > :25:45.Mid Wales dropping as low as three Celsius. Tomorrow's chart shows high

:25:46. > :25:48.pressure over the Bay of Biscay. These fronts over the Atlantic will

:25:49. > :25:51.bring rain to western Scotland late in the day. So here's the picture

:25:52. > :25:55.for eight in the morning. Much better than today. Most of the

:25:56. > :25:58.country dry with just the odd light shower. Breezy and feeling fresh,

:25:59. > :26:01.especially on the coast. A brisk wind on Anglesey and the Lleyn

:26:02. > :26:04.Peninsula. So better weather tomorrow with pressure rising. You

:26:05. > :26:07.may catch a shower otherwise dry with broken cloud and sunny spells.

:26:08. > :26:11.Temperatures nothing special. Ten to 12 Celsius and breezy but out of the

:26:12. > :26:18.wind and in the sunshine it will feel pleasant. In Rhondda Cynon Taf,

:26:19. > :26:22.dry tomorrow with a mixture of clouds and sunshine. A cool breeze

:26:23. > :26:26.with a high of nine Celsius in Ferndale. In Denbighshire. Nicer

:26:27. > :26:29.than today. Drier with sunny spells. Breezy on the coast and hills. A

:26:30. > :26:33.fresh ten Celsius in Ruthin. Tomorrow evening dry. Staying dry

:26:34. > :26:36.overnight. The wind easing with some low cloud forming. On Wednesday more

:26:37. > :26:40.cloud than sunshine but mostly dry. Just one or two showers breaking

:26:41. > :26:44.out. The wind lighter so feeling a bit milder. More dry weather on

:26:45. > :26:48.Thursday as well but a weak front may bring a few spots of light rain,

:26:49. > :26:51.mainly to the north. Friday dry. At the moment, most of Saturday should

:26:52. > :26:54.be dry as well thanks to high pressure. So more dry than wet over

:26:55. > :26:57.the next few days. Our picture tonight is from Richard

:26:58. > :27:02.Walliker. Sunshine in Gwaenysgor near Rhyl. Thanks, Richard. Enjoy

:27:03. > :27:12.the dry weather tomorrow. The headlines again from BBC:

:27:13. > :27:17.journalist and presenter Peaches Geldof has died at the age of 25.

:27:18. > :27:21.Kent police are treating her death is unexplained and sudden. The

:27:22. > :27:23.athlete Oscar Pistorius has apologised to the family of his

:27:24. > :27:27.girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp, for killing her. Giving evidence for the

:27:28. > :27:30.first time at his murder trial in South Africa, he broke down, saying,

:27:31. > :27:34.he couldn't imagine the pain he had caused her family. He denies murder

:27:35. > :27:38.and says he mistook her for an intruder.

:27:39. > :27:42.I'll have an update for you at 8pm and again after the BBC News at Ten.

:27:43. > :27:45.That's Wales Today. Thank you for watching. From all of us on the

:27:46. > :27:46.programme, good evening.
