:00:00. > :00:19.Wollaston, the MP who first brought to the attention of parliamentary

:00:20. > :00:27.Good evening. A teacher at a Cardiff school who admitted secretly filming

:00:28. > :00:32.children in a toilet has pleaded guilty to 31 charges, including

:00:33. > :00:36.voyeurism and possessing more than 16,000 images of child abuse.

:00:37. > :00:44.47-year-old Gareth Williams is already in custody and will be

:00:45. > :00:48.sentenced next month. He secretly filmed in a toilet, collated

:00:49. > :00:51.indecent images and downloaded sexually explicit videos of

:00:52. > :00:59.children. But this teacher, from Cardiff, was finally caught as part

:01:00. > :01:05.of a global investigation. Today, police in Toronto say they've woken

:01:06. > :01:10.up a large-scale international child pornography ring. Last year,

:01:11. > :01:15.Canadian TV News reported on Project spade. It centred on a Toronto

:01:16. > :01:18.businessman who ran a website called Azarov films. He distributed

:01:19. > :01:24.sexually explicit videos featuring children as well -- 's young as five

:01:25. > :01:29.to customers across the world. The arrests included 40 schoolteachers,

:01:30. > :01:35.nine doctors and nurses, 32 people who volunteered with children.

:01:36. > :01:40.Gareth Williams' name, Cardiff address and credit card details were

:01:41. > :01:45.among the 348 people identified by the police. Law enforcement agencies

:01:46. > :01:47.across the world were contacted, including the Child Exploitation and

:01:48. > :01:55.Online Protection Centre and see in the UK. They would have received the

:01:56. > :01:59.orders and they also would have received an actual hard drive

:02:00. > :02:07.containing 500 of the movies. We left it up to each jurisdiction to

:02:08. > :02:11.apply their own laws. Canadian police say that was an April 2012,

:02:12. > :02:17.but there were serious delays until the authorities here took action. It

:02:18. > :02:21.wasn't until November 2013 that CEOP, now part of the National Crime

:02:22. > :02:24.Agency, assessed the intelligence properly and passed on the

:02:25. > :02:29.information. However, Gareth Williams was still at large and in

:02:30. > :02:34.December 2013 he installed the secret pinhole camera in a toilet.

:02:35. > :02:38.He was finally arrested by South Wales police in January this year.

:02:39. > :02:42.CEOP say they are carrying out an independent review of how quickly

:02:43. > :02:45.they acted on the intelligence, and admit that all steps which should

:02:46. > :02:50.have been completed at the time did not take place. Appearing via video

:02:51. > :02:55.link at Newport Crown Court, Gareth Williams pleaded guilty to 31

:02:56. > :02:58.charges. Nine of those charges were voyeurism, that's recording another

:02:59. > :03:02.person doing a private act without their consent for the purpose of

:03:03. > :03:06.sexual gratification. He also pleaded guilty to 22 charges of

:03:07. > :03:11.making and possessing indecent images of children. The court heard

:03:12. > :03:15.how the police recovered more than 16,000 indecent photographs and more

:03:16. > :03:20.than 600 indecent movies on computers and memory sticks. Newport

:03:21. > :03:25.Crown Court heard how he'd secretly placed cameras in a toilet and a two

:03:26. > :03:30.houses. Some of the images had been catalogued with the children's date

:03:31. > :03:33.of birth and dates of the recording. In the domestic setting these tiny

:03:34. > :03:38.pinhole cameras can be camouflaged in everyday items like a radio or a

:03:39. > :03:43.clock, or like in this case in the screw head of a light switch. These

:03:44. > :03:47.devices can be fitted with motion sensors so they only work when

:03:48. > :03:51.someone is in the room. As you can see, they give surprisingly clear

:03:52. > :03:55.pictures. Tonight, questions are also being asked about whether more

:03:56. > :03:59.can be done to protect children from online exploitation and voyeurism.

:04:00. > :04:03.It's about resource in organisations like CEOP, and it's also about

:04:04. > :04:08.working with search engine companies to think about how they can put

:04:09. > :04:13.controls on to online child abuse imagery. Today the judge adjourned

:04:14. > :04:16.sentencing until next month for psychological reports to be

:04:17. > :04:23.compiled, but he warned Williams he faced a lengthy custodial sentence.

:04:24. > :04:27.Tea Party men from Ceredigion have appeared before magistrates accused

:04:28. > :04:34.of mislabelling goat meat as lamb or mutton. The owner of farm box meets

:04:35. > :04:39.near Aberystwyth and Colin Paterson, who worked for the company, also

:04:40. > :04:44.face one count of failing to comply with food traceability regulations.

:04:45. > :04:47.The power of the Crown Prosecution Service to pursue historic

:04:48. > :04:52.allegations of sexual assault should be investigated. That's the view of

:04:53. > :04:59.Nigel Evans, who was cleared of rape and sexual assault charges last

:05:00. > :05:02.week. The Swansea born MP says he is ?130,000 out of pocket following the

:05:03. > :05:07.case, although it's been revealed tonight that he would have received

:05:08. > :05:11.legal aid had he applied for it. The former Hotpoint factory site at

:05:12. > :05:17.Denbighshire has been bought by the Welsh Government for ?1.5 million.

:05:18. > :05:22.300 jobs were lost when production ended their five years ago. The

:05:23. > :05:26.intention is to redevelop the site. Fighting grass fires in the South

:05:27. > :05:30.Wales valleys has cost almost ?1 million already this year despite

:05:31. > :05:36.awareness programmes in the community there -- they are a major

:05:37. > :05:41.drain on resources for fire crews. Our reporter has been given

:05:42. > :05:50.exclusive access to cruise at a station to see the effect deliberate

:05:51. > :05:55.fires are having. It is 11am on a Saturday morning and the fire crew

:05:56. > :06:00.here are called out to yet another deliberate grass fire. They will be

:06:01. > :06:07.using the beacons. They will beat it out. Because there's no way you can

:06:08. > :06:14.get any water up here. How does this compare in terms of size up to some

:06:15. > :06:18.of the other fires? This is minor. By Sunday, another call, another

:06:19. > :06:25.deliberate fire on the mountainside. It's bigger than yesterday's and

:06:26. > :06:30.more difficult to get to. This fire started as a small one just down

:06:31. > :06:35.there. It's come all the way up this hill and spread as far as you can

:06:36. > :06:40.see over that way. There's a line of fire going all the way up the side

:06:41. > :06:44.of the Mt. The wind is now blowing it over that way, which is making

:06:45. > :06:48.stopping it and putting it out quite difficult because they can't get to

:06:49. > :06:53.the other side of the flame to put it out. The grassland is well

:06:54. > :06:57.alight. I'm worried if it starts coming back down the mountain and

:06:58. > :07:01.impinging on the properties down below. The crew manages a fire's

:07:02. > :07:06.path to protect buildings and houses. Being a peer, though, means

:07:07. > :07:09.they can't be down in the valley for other emergencies. Protecting

:07:10. > :07:14.wildlife from the flames is often impossible. In the last six days

:07:15. > :07:19.we've had over 41 fire incidents. Even know the ground is still wet,

:07:20. > :07:22.we are still getting grass fires deliberately set across our

:07:23. > :07:26.communities in South Wales. The weekend ends with a call to a fire

:07:27. > :07:31.nearly ten times bigger than the last. Getting to where it is is as

:07:32. > :07:35.difficult as putting it out. The fire service says it is not just

:07:36. > :07:39.grass being damaged here, it's an entire landscape and it continues to

:07:40. > :07:43.put lives at risk. Swimming, and at the British Championships in Glasgow

:07:44. > :07:49.tonight, jazz Colin defended her 800 metre freestyle title in style. The

:07:50. > :07:51.23-year-old won gold with a new Welsh record, which sees her move to

:07:52. > :08:06.the top of the world rankings. Lots of sunshine across Wales today

:08:07. > :08:10.and there's more to come over the next couple of days. Still some

:08:11. > :08:14.chilly nights, watch out for a ground frost. Thursday looks cloudy,

:08:15. > :08:19.so not sunny everyday this week. Having said that, I'm not expecting

:08:20. > :08:23.much, if any, rain. Fine and dry tonight, a beautiful full moon. That

:08:24. > :08:27.clear sky means it's turning chillier. Widespread ground frost by

:08:28. > :08:32.the end of the night, one or two mist patches as well high-pressure

:08:33. > :08:36.sitting right at across the UK tomorrow. That means more fine and

:08:37. > :08:41.sunny weather. It's going to be a beautiful day right across the whole

:08:42. > :08:45.of Wales tomorrow. A cooler and fresh start first thing, any mist

:08:46. > :08:48.will soon disappear. Then we are all in the same boat, basking in super

:08:49. > :08:54.spring sunshine. It's a similar story across the rest of the UK

:08:55. > :08:57.tomorrow. Most places fine, lots of April sunshine. More cloud for the

:08:58. > :09:02.North of Scotland, breezy in Cornwall with a high of 16 Celsius

:09:03. > :09:08.in London. Much cooler on the coast where the breeze is off the sea. In

:09:09. > :09:13.Wales tomorrow afternoon, a cracking one, lots of sunshine, a few fair

:09:14. > :09:18.weather clouds. Warmer than today on the north and west coast. A breeze

:09:19. > :09:22.off the land rather than the sea. Good weather for working outdoors in

:09:23. > :09:26.the garden tomorrow. But don't forget the sun cream. A high pollen

:09:27. > :09:31.count as well. More fine weather and sunshine on Wednesday. 17 Celsius

:09:32. > :09:35.per high in Rhyl. I cloud spreading from the West during the afternoon.

:09:36. > :09:38.This day will bring a change, much cloudier with a few spots of light

:09:39. > :09:41.rain possibly, but no more than that. Good Friday and Easter

:09:42. > :09:45.weekend, there's more dry weather to come.

:09:46. > :09:54.We are back from 6am tomorrow with the latest news and sport, traffic

:09:55. > :09:56.reports and weather forecasts. That is Wales Today. Thank you for

:09:57. > :10:02.watching. You're here to fight

:10:03. > :10:04.for king and country. He's not the king of my country.

:10:05. > :10:08.What did you say?
