:00:00. > :00:19.hear views on immigration. That's all from us.

:00:20. > :00:31.Good evening. As friends pay tribute tonight to the Welsh servicemen

:00:32. > :00:33.killed in Afghanistan at the weekend, the Welsh Secretary has

:00:34. > :00:37.said the helicopter crash which killed them was probably not caused

:00:38. > :00:42.by hostile action, but a terrible tragedy. Captain Thomas Clarke, from

:00:43. > :00:45.Cowbridge, and Lance Corporal Oliver Thomas, from Brecon, died along with

:00:46. > :01:02.three of their colleagues. Caroline Evans reports. Capable and dedicated

:01:03. > :01:05.is how the commander described them. 26-year-old Lance Corporal Oliver

:01:06. > :01:08.Thomas and 30-year-old captain Tom Clarke, who was one of the pilots.

:01:09. > :01:13.Gary Rees, whose son was a close friend, told me the terrible news of

:01:14. > :01:17.the death of Tom Clarke has not yet sunk in. He was almost like a third

:01:18. > :01:30.son to us, really. He was such a bright, big, very friendly, outgoing

:01:31. > :01:46.young chap. Everybody loved him. Together with his son, he was a keen

:01:47. > :01:52.rugby player. Richard Kilty, who coached him here, says he was a

:01:53. > :01:56.respectful young man. We are all devastated by the loss of Tom. I

:01:57. > :01:59.don't think we can take it in. I know all of his family, his wife,

:02:00. > :02:01.parents, brother, they are devastated. Lance Corporal Oliver

:02:02. > :02:05.Thomas was part of the Army reserves, which he joined in 2011.

:02:06. > :02:08.He had previously worked as a researcher for the local MP Roger

:02:09. > :02:17.Williams. He had done some training abroad, but this was his first

:02:18. > :02:21.real-time with a full-time army. He was very well valued in Afghanistan

:02:22. > :02:25.for the work he was doing. Where he was head boy of his school, he is

:02:26. > :02:41.remembered with affection. It was an elected post by the teaching staff

:02:42. > :02:45.and students. It reflect all the things that he did for the school,

:02:46. > :02:48.his sporting events, and he took part in several trips to the

:02:49. > :02:54.battlefields themselves. The Lynx helicopter went down near the border

:02:55. > :02:57.with Pakistan. It is the first fatal accident of the Afghan conflict

:02:58. > :03:01.involving a UK military helicopter. A great loss, especially as we are

:03:02. > :03:03.nearing the end of our deployment in Afghanistan. It would appear it

:03:04. > :03:13.wasn't the result of hostile action. But, nevertheless, a huge tragedy

:03:14. > :03:20.for their families. Their deaths take the number of British personnel

:03:21. > :03:24.killed in the conflict to 453. The family of a man who took part in

:03:25. > :03:32.the internet drinking game Neknominate has warned of its

:03:33. > :03:34.dangers. An inquest has heard that 29-year-old Stephen Brookes died in

:03:35. > :03:38.February this year, after downing three-quarters of a bottle of vodka

:03:39. > :03:41.and taking cocaine. Matt Murray reports.

:03:42. > :03:44.Stephen Brookes died after attending a house party in the Trowbridge area

:03:45. > :03:47.of Cardiff. Before leaving that party, he took part in the internet

:03:48. > :03:50.drinking game Neknominate. Today, his family left Cardiff Coroners'

:03:51. > :03:53.Court devastated by the news that the 29-year-old had consumed vast

:03:54. > :03:56.amounts of alcohol and drugs before his death, but believe it was the

:03:57. > :03:59.online drinking game that killed him. He touched everybody's heart.

:04:00. > :04:03.The drinking had obviously got out of hand and it caused his death. The

:04:04. > :04:14.young ones need to be aware that drinking can wreck lives. I'm sorry,

:04:15. > :04:21.I've got to go. Would he still be here if he wasn't playing this game?

:04:22. > :04:25.Yes, he would. It is a very dangerous game. The inquest heard

:04:26. > :04:29.from family and friends of Stephen Brookes. They say he attended a

:04:30. > :04:36.house party. He started drinking heavily at the party and taking

:04:37. > :04:45.cocaine. It is about 12 hours later that he took part in the Neknominate

:04:46. > :04:49.game. It is believed he drank three quarters of a bottle of vodka. One

:04:50. > :04:52.friend said he seemed to empty the bottle in a matter of seconds.

:04:53. > :04:55.Within the hour, Stephen had died. Pathologist reports revealed that

:04:56. > :04:58.his alcohol blood level was six times over the drink drive limit.

:04:59. > :05:02.This year, Neknomination has been an internet drinking craze. It involves

:05:03. > :05:05.people filming themselves downing a drink, posting a video on social

:05:06. > :05:08.media sites, then nominating someone to do the same. Today, the coroner

:05:09. > :05:09.concluded that Stephen Brookes died from acute alcohol poisoning and

:05:10. > :05:32.cocaine use. In a potential ?300 million deal

:05:33. > :05:36.broke down earlier this month leaving the future of this oil

:05:37. > :05:48.refinery and its 400 jobs in jeopardy.

:05:49. > :05:52.The head of the Electoral Commission in Wales says she is sorry after the

:05:53. > :05:55.name of a murdered soldier was used to promote a far-right political

:05:56. > :05:58.party. Britain First will use the description "Remember Lee Rigby" on

:05:59. > :06:01.ballot papers in Wales for the European elections next month. Kay

:06:02. > :06:14.Jenkins told Assembly Members it should never have been allowed. The

:06:15. > :06:17.commission very sincerely apologises for the registration of the

:06:18. > :06:34.description "remembering Lee Rigby". Our chair has apologised to his

:06:35. > :06:37.family for the offence caused. Work has begun to mothball Plas

:06:38. > :06:41.Madoc Leisure centre in Wrexham after the council decided it could

:06:42. > :06:44.no longer afford to run it. It will be demolished in October, unless a

:06:45. > :06:55.community group is able to take over the management of the centre. At the

:06:56. > :07:01.launch of its manifesto, Plaid Cymru said it would secure 150,000 jobs by

:07:02. > :07:05.staying in the EU. It is also calling on the Welsh government to

:07:06. > :07:09.target skilled migrants from abroad. Recent polls suggest the

:07:10. > :07:20.party could lose its only European seat, held by Jill Evans.

:07:21. > :07:22.Around 40 wild boar are on the loose this evening after they were

:07:23. > :07:26.released from a farm near Maesteg during a burglary. Six people have

:07:27. > :07:28.been arrested. Police are still looking for the animals tonight.

:07:29. > :07:33.They are warning people not to approach them. Snooker, and Ryan

:07:34. > :07:44.days out of two world championships at the Crucible after losing his

:07:45. > :07:53.second round match 13-7 tonight. -- Ryan Day. Now the weather

:07:54. > :07:58.forecast. Some showers around at the moment in parts of the south and

:07:59. > :08:03.south-east, some heavy showers too. Tomorrow there should be more in the

:08:04. > :08:08.way of dry weather and some sunshine breaking through as well. Showers

:08:09. > :08:15.breaking through this evening into the early hours. Otherwise it is a

:08:16. > :08:24.dry story, with sea fog over the sea into Cardiff Bay. A grey start

:08:25. > :08:28.tomorrow morning, mist and fog patches lifting. Then the cloud will

:08:29. > :08:34.break with some sunshine, still this sea fog lingering over the Irish Sea

:08:35. > :08:40.and the Cardigan Bay coast. Tomorrow mist and fog patches will lift, the

:08:41. > :08:42.sun will break through. Not dry everywhere, showers likely across

:08:43. > :08:50.the southern counties of England so they could be heavy and thundery. It

:08:51. > :08:55.has been the warmest day of the year so far in the UK today, but it will

:08:56. > :09:04.be much cooler in the north of Scotland tomorrow. For Wales

:09:05. > :09:10.tomorrow afternoon, many places dry with sunny spells. Pleasantly warm,

:09:11. > :09:15.17 Celsius in Wrexham with a light breeze. Much cooler on the coast

:09:16. > :09:21.with the risk of sea fog rolling onshore. Any showers will die away

:09:22. > :09:25.to leave a dry night, mist and fog patches forming again. Into

:09:26. > :09:30.Wednesday, mist and fog will lift, some sunshine and some sharp showers

:09:31. > :09:34.breaking out in the north and north-east, then during the

:09:35. > :09:40.afternoon some rain will spread from the south-west. Thursday unsettled

:09:41. > :09:44.with longer spells of rain, heavy downpours in places, then all change

:09:45. > :09:50.for the end of the week becoming drier and cooler on Friday, but

:09:51. > :09:56.watch out for some overnight frost. Jeremy Paxman has got more on the

:09:57. > :10:02.death of the schoolteacher Anne
