:00:00. > :00:12.There is more throughout the evening on bids the BBC

:00:13. > :00:17.Good evening. A teacher who was understood to have been the intended

:00:18. > :00:21.target of an alleged murder plot by two pupils has praised her school's

:00:22. > :00:24.handling of the incident. Police were called to Cwmcarn High school

:00:25. > :00:29.on Thursday after concerns were raised about the behaviour of two

:00:30. > :00:34.girls. The 15-year-old from Newbridge and a 14-year old-girl

:00:35. > :00:39.from Risca were arrested and bailed. The teacher at the centre of an

:00:40. > :00:43.alleged murder plot. Alison Cray has been teaching maths at Cwmcarn High

:00:44. > :00:46.School for more than ten years. Today she praised the school for the

:00:47. > :00:51.way they have dealt with the incident. In a statement, she said,

:00:52. > :00:55."I know very little about it. It all happened elsewhere and I wasn't

:00:56. > :00:59.directly involved at all. I'm very lucky that I'm at Cwmcarn and that

:01:00. > :01:02.they have handled it so well. I've been working as normal and I'm

:01:03. > :01:05.fine." Police were called to the high school just before lunchtime on

:01:06. > :01:10.Thursday following concerns of the behaviour of two pupils. The girls,

:01:11. > :01:14.aged 14 and 15, were arrested and questioned over a suspected knife

:01:15. > :01:18.plot. The older girl was held for possession of a bladed article. It

:01:19. > :01:21.comes just days after teacher Ann Maguire died following a classroom

:01:22. > :01:25.stabbing at Corpus Christi Catholic College in Leeds. Nobody was harmed

:01:26. > :01:28.as a result of the incident at Cwmcarn High School. The two teenage

:01:29. > :01:31.girls have since been released on bail.

:01:32. > :01:34.Firefighters in Wales are currently in the middle of their latest

:01:35. > :01:37.walk-out in a row over pensions. Some members of the Fire Brigades

:01:38. > :01:41.Union joined other organisations on a march in Cardiff to mark

:01:42. > :01:43.International Workers Day. The UK government plans to raise

:01:44. > :01:47.firefighters' retirement age from 55 to 60 and increase pension

:01:48. > :01:57.contributions. They say firefighters had one of the most generous pension

:01:58. > :02:01.schemes in the public sector. No firefighter in Great Britain

:02:02. > :02:06.wants to walk out of the doors, that is how professional we are. I think

:02:07. > :02:10.we have to make some sacrifices but we are an emergency service, we are

:02:11. > :02:14.there to protect the public, and the conditions that have been put to us

:02:15. > :02:18.are unworkable. No firefighter can work until they are 60 years of age

:02:19. > :02:21.and provide a good service. Head teachers have called for an

:02:22. > :02:25.independent exams watchdog to be set up in Wales with immediate effect.

:02:26. > :02:28.They want the introduction of a Welsh government bill leading to

:02:29. > :02:31.Wales having a neutral judge to adjudicate in any dispute over

:02:32. > :02:35.standards such as the fall in grades for early GCSE English papers this

:02:36. > :02:38.year. It is being discussed at the National Association of Head

:02:39. > :02:42.Teachers UK's annual conference in Birmingham this weekend.

:02:43. > :02:45.Football, and Cardiff City have been relegated from the Premier League.

:02:46. > :02:49.The Bluebirds were beaten 3-0 at Newcastle today. The result leaves

:02:50. > :02:54.them bottom of the table, five points from safety with just one

:02:55. > :03:03.match left to play this season. Cardiff's stay in the top flight

:03:04. > :03:07.comes to end after just one season. These lads, with the attitude and

:03:08. > :03:13.the effort they put in, did not deserve to lose the game. The

:03:14. > :03:17.attitude and atmosphere in there is now a disappointment but they are a

:03:18. > :03:22.fantastic bunch of players who gave everything for the cause and it just

:03:23. > :03:24.was not good enough. Swansea City, who secured their

:03:25. > :03:28.Premier League status last week, were beaten 1-0 at home by

:03:29. > :03:31.Southampton. Rickie Lambert was credited with the goal which came

:03:32. > :03:36.with almost the last kick of the match. In League Two, Newport County

:03:37. > :03:39.beat Rochdale 2-1 at home. It means County finish the season in 14th

:03:40. > :03:43.place. The New Saints have added the Welsh

:03:44. > :03:46.Cup to their Welsh Premier title. They came back from behind to beat

:03:47. > :03:50.Aberystwyth 3-2 at the Racecourse in Wrexham. Mike Wilde scored the

:03:51. > :03:52.winning goal with just four minutes to go.

:03:53. > :03:55.Rugby, and former Wales captain Matthew Rees is captaining the

:03:56. > :03:59.Cardiff Blues for the first time following his break from the game

:04:00. > :04:09.for testicular cancer treatment. The Blues are at Connacht in the Pro 12.

:04:10. > :04:16.A full check on the weather now. Here's Owain Wyn Evans.

:04:17. > :04:23.We have had an east, west divide across Wales today. The eastern

:04:24. > :04:29.parts have enjoyed the best of any brightness. Further west, where it

:04:30. > :04:38.is cloudy, we will see some light rain and drizzle. Mainly in parts of

:04:39. > :04:42.Ceredigion. Tomorrow morning, that rain will continue, light and patchy

:04:43. > :04:49.across North Wales and mid Wales. Try to the south. A top temperature

:04:50. > :04:55.tomorrow of 14 Celsius. This is the pressure chart. High-pressure moving

:04:56. > :04:57.away, no pressure approaching from the West. That will make things a

:04:58. > :05:02.bit more unsettled. That's the latest in Wales Today.

:05:03. > :05:06.We're back tomorrow at 6.50pm. Enjoy the rest of your evening. Goodbye.

:05:07. > :05:18.Good evening. It was a cold, even frosty start to the Bank Holiday

:05:19. > :05:23.weekend but for most of us day one of three has been dry. We are going

:05:24. > :05:25.to see changes, the first of those changes spilling across Scotland and

:05:26. > :05:26.Northern Ireland as outbreaks
