:00:00. > :00:11.That is all the sport, back to you. That is it from

:00:12. > :00:17.Good evening. Wales could receive more money from the Treasury under a

:00:18. > :00:20.Labour UK government. That's the claim from the Shadow Scottish

:00:21. > :00:24.Secretary. Margaret Curran said the formula for funding the devolved

:00:25. > :00:26.nations would not change. But she said Labour would recognise Wales'

:00:27. > :00:35."claim to extra resources". Daniel Davies reports.

:00:36. > :00:41.It determines how much Wales has two spend on public services, including

:00:42. > :00:45.schools and hospitals. Known as the Barnett formula, it has been around

:00:46. > :00:49.since the 1970s, proof according to some that it has stood the test of

:00:50. > :00:53.time. But Labour ministers in Cardiff Bay disagree. They say the

:00:54. > :00:57.system short-changes the Welsh Government, and they want a new one.

:00:58. > :01:01.On the campaign trail, Ed Miliband said a Labour UK government would

:01:02. > :01:06.keep the Barnett formula, which sets the Scottish budget as well. But Mr

:01:07. > :01:12.Miliband also said Labour would look at claims that Wales loses out. One

:01:13. > :01:15.of his Shadow Cabinet members, campaigning against Scottish

:01:16. > :01:20.independence, said Labour recognises that there is a specific set of

:01:21. > :01:25.funding issues in Wales. Does that mean more funding for devolved

:01:26. > :01:30.services in Wales? I think that looks the more devolving in the

:01:31. > :01:35.future. But Ed Miliband has recognised the very specific issue

:01:36. > :01:38.in relation to Wales. Not to resolve that at the expense of Scotland as

:01:39. > :01:47.some claim, but that Welsh issues are addressed. Today's Sunday Herald

:01:48. > :01:51.became the first paper to called for a yes vote in the independence

:01:52. > :01:55.referendum. Mr Miliband says if he gets to Downing Street, he will not

:01:56. > :01:57.change things for Scotland. The challenge is to keep things as they

:01:58. > :02:01.are in Scotland while satisfying Welsh Labour ministers who want what

:02:02. > :02:04.they called funding. A 42-year-old man from the Port

:02:05. > :02:06.Talbot area has been arrested in connection with allegations of

:02:07. > :02:10.'malicious communication' following the death of the teacher Ann Maguire

:02:11. > :02:13.at a school in Leeds. Mrs Maguire died after suffering multiple stab

:02:14. > :02:18.wounds on Monday. A 15-year-old boy has been charged with her murder.

:02:19. > :02:22.The Chair of Governors at a school at the centre of an alleged murder

:02:23. > :02:26.plot says he's proud of the way staff reacted when concerns were

:02:27. > :02:29.first raised. Police were called to Cwmcarn High School on Thursday to

:02:30. > :02:32.investigate the behaviour of two pupils. Maths teacher Alison Cray,

:02:33. > :02:38.who's understood to have been the intended target, has also praised

:02:39. > :02:47.the school. Two girls, aged 14 and 15, were arrested and have since

:02:48. > :02:50.been bailed. Football and Cardiff City manager

:02:51. > :02:53.Ole Gunnar Solskjaer says he wants to stay with the club to return them

:02:54. > :02:56.to the Premier League. City were relegated yesterday after just one

:02:57. > :03:01.season in the top flight. Here's Sachin Krishnan.

:03:02. > :03:04.Almost a year ago to the day, Cardiff City fans were out on the

:03:05. > :03:09.streets looking forward to their Premier League adventure. 12 months

:03:10. > :03:12.on, they are facing up to relegation following a 3-0 defeat at Newcastle.

:03:13. > :03:18.Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was brought in to keep Cardiff up. Does

:03:19. > :03:24.he want to read next season's challenge in the Championship?

:03:25. > :03:29.Definitely. We have had four seasons prior to this one at the top of the

:03:30. > :03:32.Championship. Now we have taken a step back, it is about showing

:03:33. > :03:39.character and bouncing straight back. They have been precious few

:03:40. > :03:45.highlights for fans this season. The former manager's departure did

:03:46. > :03:53.little for the relationship between the fans and the chairman. Vincent

:03:54. > :03:57.Tan and the club should say we should change the blue as soon as

:03:58. > :04:02.possible. That is one way for making up for a disappointing season.

:04:03. > :04:07.Despite defeat in their final match of the season, the signs are that

:04:08. > :04:11.Gary Monk has done enough to earn the Swansea city manager's job on a

:04:12. > :04:15.permanent basis. An announcement could be made before the final match

:04:16. > :04:19.against Sunderland. I am disappointed end it in a situation

:04:20. > :04:26.where we did not deserve to lose the game. We will have to deal with it.

:04:27. > :04:32.Also yesterday a solid return to the Football League for Newport County,

:04:33. > :04:34.with a 2-1 win over Rochdale and 14th place finish in league two.

:04:35. > :04:38.Disappointment as well today for Cardiff City Ladies FC. They were

:04:39. > :04:41.beaten 6-2 by Sheffield in the final of the Premier League Cup.

:04:42. > :04:44.Onto rugby and Pontypridd and Cross Keys are battling it out for the

:04:45. > :04:49.Swalec Cup at the Millennium Stadium. Ponty grabbed the first try

:04:50. > :04:57.and led 11-3 at half time. With 20 minutes to go, the latest score is

:04:58. > :05:03.14-3 to Pontypridd. Time for the weather forecast.

:05:04. > :05:07.Good evening. It has been largely dry but most sunshine is further

:05:08. > :05:13.south and east. Thicker cloud is making it hazy across North Wales.

:05:14. > :05:16.Rain returns later in the day. Tonight, some cloud in the

:05:17. > :05:23.north-west but otherwise dry and frost free. It could turn cold and

:05:24. > :05:26.rural Wales. Tomorrow is dry and quite warm with sunny spells but

:05:27. > :05:31.cloud will thicken from the West. Patchy rain spreading in, staying

:05:32. > :05:36.dry as the longest further east. Wind is picking up later as well,

:05:37. > :05:44.warm southerly are being brought in, highs of 15 Celsius along the North

:05:45. > :05:48.Coast. The high will be pushed out towards eastern Europe. Sunshine and

:05:49. > :05:54.showers on Tuesday. More unsettled midweek, windy with bright spells

:05:55. > :05:58.but some showers as well. And that is Wales Today. I am back

:05:59. > :06:02.at 10:15pm. You can follow all of the up-to-date news on the website.

:06:03. > :06:02.Until then, have a great evening. Goodbye.

:06:03. > :06:09.Until then, have a great evening. evening, goodbye.

:06:10. > :06:16.Good evening. Today we have had the sunniest skies in the South whereas
