:00:00. > :00:13.back with the late news. Now on BBC One it's time for the

:00:14. > :00:22.Good evening. A search continues for a man who has been missing since his

:00:23. > :00:26.kayak overturned yesterday. Meanwhile, an investigation has been

:00:27. > :00:33.launched after a man died in a pool at a quarry in Denbigh.

:00:34. > :00:38.This lake is one of the deepest in Britain, going down to 140 feet in

:00:39. > :00:43.places. The missing man was out in a kayak when it overturned. Another

:00:44. > :00:47.adult and a child made it to shore and raised the alarm at around

:00:48. > :00:51.5:30pm yesterday afternoon. They were taken to hospital in Wrexham

:00:52. > :00:56.and kept in overnight as a precaution. The search for the

:00:57. > :00:59.missing man continues. The RAF rescue helicopter, police and fire

:01:00. > :01:02.service were involved in the search until the light faded. The police

:01:03. > :01:07.continue looking for him this morning. 30 miles away in Denbigh,

:01:08. > :01:12.the body of a 20-year-old man has been recovered from a quarry.

:01:13. > :01:17.Underwater search teams were called to the site on Saturday afternoon.

:01:18. > :01:25.Police had previously warned of the dangers of cooling down in the pool

:01:26. > :01:28.or jumping from rocks. And described the pool as market with dramatic

:01:29. > :01:31.inconsistencies in depth. They are still trying to work out what

:01:32. > :01:36.happened but are not treating his death as suspicious.

:01:37. > :01:40.Welsh hospitals are facing a shortage of nurses which could

:01:41. > :01:45.compromise patient care, according to the Royal College of Nursing.

:01:46. > :01:51.There were also reports that recent reports of poorer care could damage

:01:52. > :01:56.recruitment. But Wales Today was told that enough nurses are being

:01:57. > :01:59.trained. Images of nurses through the

:02:00. > :02:04.decades, comparing, and compassionate. Recent complaints

:02:05. > :02:08.about poor care in the Welsh NHS may denting that image. At the offices

:02:09. > :02:13.of the body that represents the profession, they are discussing

:02:14. > :02:16.nursing numbers. They say the Welsh government has underestimated the

:02:17. > :02:20.number of training places for nurses. Bad practice cannot be

:02:21. > :02:26.tolerated, says the union's director, but staffing pressures can

:02:27. > :02:33.be a factor behind poor care. Every week we hear that there are

:02:34. > :02:35.areas of poor care and nursing in Wales, and we have to get it right

:02:36. > :02:42.for patients and for the nursing profession. We cannot continue to

:02:43. > :02:49.have what we would want as a Platinum service of the NHS delivery

:02:50. > :02:54.if you do not have the resource to do that.

:02:55. > :02:59.The Welsh government's chief nursing officer denies there is a shortage.

:03:00. > :03:03.I feel that the image of nursing might be being tarnished in some

:03:04. > :03:07.respects because of the stories we have heard. Reality is very

:03:08. > :03:13.different. We do have real excellence in nursing care.

:03:14. > :03:17.A report this week about feelings at two Welsh hospitals highlighted

:03:18. > :03:22.examples of working on the wards. There was criticism just of nurses

:03:23. > :03:27.but of other health care staff and management, also. For nurses working

:03:28. > :03:30.on the front line, there is concerned this is another blow for

:03:31. > :03:33.morale. That is bound to have an effect on

:03:34. > :03:36.people wanting to stay in the service and potentially other people

:03:37. > :03:41.looking to come into nursing as a career.

:03:42. > :03:47.Nurses her face different challenges over the years. They say one of the

:03:48. > :03:50.most important issues now is getting staffing levels right so that

:03:51. > :03:55.patients get the care they need. Officers and crew of HMS Dragon have

:03:56. > :03:59.been in Cardiff today receiving the freedom of the city. HMS Dragon has

:04:00. > :04:04.a number of Welsh personnel on board and the award was in recognition of

:04:05. > :04:10.its close links with the capital. After the ceremony, the 200 strong

:04:11. > :04:12.company paraded through the city. Wales midfielder Aaron Ramsey has

:04:13. > :04:17.described his FA Cup final winning goal as a dream come true after

:04:18. > :04:23.ending Arsenal's nine-year wait for a trophy. His extra time goal sealed

:04:24. > :04:29.the Gunners' went over Hull at Wembley.

:04:30. > :04:34.It's incredible to think that I've been dreaming about this ever since

:04:35. > :04:39.I was a young boy. And to score the winner is mind blowing.

:04:40. > :04:48.It was a good night for Welsh boxers. Nathan cleverly won his

:04:49. > :04:57.first cruiserweight fight. He took the vacant WBA Intercontinental

:04:58. > :05:08.title. Former world champion retired after a win over fellow Welshman.

:05:09. > :05:14.Now the weather: another gorgeous day for firing up barbecues.

:05:15. > :05:19.In the coming week it will turn a little more unsettled. Showers will

:05:20. > :05:25.push in from the south into mid Wales and parts of the North in the

:05:26. > :05:29.early hours. It is a mild night, between nine and 13 Celsius.

:05:30. > :05:34.Tomorrow is another fine day on the whole, but there will be showers in

:05:35. > :05:38.the South and West, the North will get most of the Sunshine. It will

:05:39. > :05:44.cloud over at times, temperatures into the low 20s, a little cooler

:05:45. > :05:48.around the coast because of the sea breeze. In the coming days, low

:05:49. > :05:52.pressure building in from the South West which will bring showers. We

:05:53. > :06:00.will have some heavy rain midweek, but more sunshine to come, and it

:06:01. > :06:02.will still feel pleasantly warm. That's all from Wales Today for the

:06:03. > :06:12.moment. St James Park and Sheffield both hit

:06:13. > :06:17.25 Celsius this afternoon. That gives us our warmest day in nearly

:06:18. > :06:21.nine months, since 5th September 2013. It goes without saying that it

:06:22. > :06:22.is going to be a warm night.
