:00:39. > :00:43.places. The missing man was out in a kayak when it overturned. Another
:00:44. > :00:47.adult and a child made it to shore and raised the alarm at around
:00:48. > :00:51.5:30pm yesterday afternoon. They were taken to hospital in Wrexham
:00:52. > :00:56.and kept in overnight as a precaution. The search for the
:00:57. > :00:59.missing man continues. The RAF rescue helicopter, police and fire
:01:00. > :01:02.service were involved in the search until the light faded. The police
:01:03. > :01:07.continue looking for him this morning. 30 miles away in Denbigh,
:01:08. > :01:12.the body of a 20-year-old man has been recovered from a quarry.
:01:13. > :01:17.Underwater search teams were called to the site on Saturday afternoon.
:01:18. > :01:25.Police had previously warned of the dangers of cooling down in the pool
:01:26. > :01:28.or jumping from rocks. And described the pool as market with dramatic
:01:29. > :01:31.inconsistencies in depth. They are still trying to work out what
:01:32. > :01:36.happened but are not treating his death as suspicious.
:01:37. > :01:40.Welsh hospitals are facing a shortage of nurses which could
:01:41. > :01:45.compromise patient care, according to the Royal College of Nursing.
:01:46. > :01:51.There were also reports that recent reports of poorer care could damage
:01:52. > :01:56.recruitment. But Wales Today was told that enough nurses are being
:01:57. > :01:59.trained. Images of nurses through the
:02:00. > :02:04.decades, comparing, and compassionate. Recent complaints
:02:05. > :02:08.about poor care in the Welsh NHS may denting that image. At the offices
:02:09. > :02:13.of the body that represents the profession, they are discussing
:02:14. > :02:16.nursing numbers. They say the Welsh government has underestimated the
:02:17. > :02:20.number of training places for nurses. Bad practice cannot be
:02:21. > :02:26.tolerated, says the union's director, but staffing pressures can
:02:27. > :02:33.be a factor behind poor care. Every week we hear that there are
:02:34. > :02:35.areas of poor care and nursing in Wales, and we have to get it right
:02:36. > :02:42.for patients and for the nursing profession. We cannot continue to
:02:43. > :02:49.have what we would want as a Platinum service of the NHS delivery
:02:50. > :02:54.if you do not have the resource to do that.
:02:55. > :02:59.The Welsh government's chief nursing officer denies there is a shortage.

:03:04. > :03:07.respects because of the stories we have heard. Reality is very
:03:08. > :03:13.different. We do have real excellence in nursing care.
:03:14. > :03:17.A report this week about feelings at two Welsh hospitals highlighted
:03:18. > :03:22.examples of working on the wards. There was criticism just of nurses
:03:23. > :03:27.but of other health care staff and management, also. For nurses working
:03:28. > :03:30.on the front line, there is concerned this is another blow for
:03:31. > :03:33.morale. That is bound to have an effect on
:03:34. > :03:36.people wanting to stay in the service and potentially other people
:03:37. > :03:41.looking to come into nursing as a career.

:03:48. > :03:50.most important issues now is getting staffing levels right so that
:03:51. > :03:55.patients get the care they need. Officers and crew of HMS Dragon have
