:00:00. > :00:10.European election results after the news where

:00:11. > :00:27.Good evening. The counting is well underway tonight for the votes cast

:00:28. > :00:31.in the European elections. An official declaration of the result

:00:32. > :00:35.for Wales is expected in Pembrokeshire as soon. Our Political

:00:36. > :00:39.Editor is waiting in Fishguard. Nick. Gary, five years ago, the

:00:40. > :00:42.Conservatives topped the poll in the European elections. The story

:00:43. > :00:46.tonight is that it is neck and neck between Labour and UKIP. We have had

:00:47. > :00:50.all the results from the different council areas across Wales, or

:00:51. > :00:56.nearly all of them. The candidates have been called here and fairly

:00:57. > :01:00.soon we will get the declaration of who the four MEPs are representing

:01:01. > :01:08.Wales over the next five years. One of the main stories this evening is

:01:09. > :01:13.the extraordinary progress of UKIP. They have won in Wrexham, and in the

:01:14. > :01:19.Vale of Glamorgan. They have pushed Labour hard in the south Wales

:01:20. > :01:25.valleys, Labour heartland seats. UKIP one in Powys. Clyde Comrie held

:01:26. > :01:32.off the challenge in some of the heartland areas. They won in

:01:33. > :01:36.Ceredigion. The Conservatives narrowly won in Pembrokeshire,

:01:37. > :01:40.beating off the challenge from UKIP. The real question is whether Labour

:01:41. > :01:46.or UKIP can win enough of the share of the votes to win a second seeds

:01:47. > :01:57.out of the four, in which case the Conservatives may lose out. -- a

:01:58. > :02:00.second seat. Thanks Nick. There's up to the minute coverage of the

:02:01. > :02:04.results tonight on Radio Wales and Radio Cymru and from the BBC Wales

:02:05. > :02:07.news website live page team - go to bbc.co.uk/walesnews and click on the

:02:08. > :02:10.link for the latest. Tourism is now worth ?256 million to the Anglesey

:02:11. > :02:14.economy, new figures show. That's thanks to a boost in the number of

:02:15. > :02:16.people visiting the island. The study by the STEAM research

:02:17. > :02:20.programme suggests the good weather last summer was a key factor. Around

:02:21. > :02:23.1,000 people greeted the Queen's Baton Relay as it made its way to

:02:24. > :02:27.Llandrindod wells tonight. It's the second day of the route through

:02:28. > :02:34.Wales as the baton heads to Glasgow where the Commonwealth Games will be

:02:35. > :02:39.held. Charlotte Dubenski has more. It has been a hectic day for the

:02:40. > :02:47.Queen's Baton Relay. First port of call was the royal mint. Rhys

:02:48. > :02:52.Williams swapped the hurdles for a role and made a new 50p coin to mark

:02:53. > :02:57.the Games. He hopes the athletics will make a lasting impression. It

:02:58. > :03:00.should be a springboard and an opportunity for people to take up

:03:01. > :03:05.sports they would not normally have done so. I hope a lot of people

:03:06. > :03:09.support the games and take up new sports and participation goes up. A

:03:10. > :03:19.small crowd welcomed the Batten in Aberdare. -- baton. The wet weather

:03:20. > :03:23.was lame for a small turnout. We have had showers and it has been

:03:24. > :03:27.overcast but we have 4000 people here and the sports village is

:03:28. > :03:35.really busy, lots of children are trying new things. The downpour did

:03:36. > :03:40.not deter the crowds in mid Wales. The Batten bearers received a hearty

:03:41. > :03:45.welcome. 1000 people turned out to cheer in Llandrindod as it made its

:03:46. > :03:48.way around the lake. I cannot explain it, I have done so many

:03:49. > :03:56.miles around this lakeside, it is incredible to be asked. I am elated,

:03:57. > :03:59.overwhelmed! It is really lovely. The journey of the baton in Wales

:04:00. > :04:04.ends here this evening, and tomorrow it heads further north to Balla.

:04:05. > :04:07.Football, Gareth Bale has been celebrating scoring a vital goal

:04:08. > :04:10.which helped Real Madrid to victory last night in the Champions League

:04:11. > :04:13.final. The Welshman put the side in front in extra time with an

:04:14. > :04:18.important header. Afterwards, Bale and his team-mates celebrated back

:04:19. > :04:19.on the streets of Madrid. Let's get the weather forecast now - here's

:04:20. > :04:25.Georgina Burnett... the weather forecast now - here's

:04:26. > :04:30.Good evening. Some showers around tonight at mainly to the West and

:04:34. > :04:37.developing in the morning. Tomorrow, sunny spells around, but

:04:38. > :04:43.also showers and those showers could be heavy at times, perhaps some hail

:04:44. > :04:48.and thunder. In between, decent sunshine, the best around the coast.

:04:49. > :04:55.Temperatures reaching 15, 16 or 17 Celsius. The week ahead: Sunshine

:04:56. > :04:58.and showers, rain in the East on Tuesday. There'll be special

:04:59. > :05:01.election updates on BBC Radio Wales and Radio Cymru until one and

:05:02. > :05:09.overnight online. We'll have a full results round up
