:00:11. > :00:14.Labour party members in the Cynon Valley have cancelled a meeting

:00:15. > :00:17.to select a replacement parliamentary candidate,

:00:18. > :00:20.after being told it must be an all-women shortlist.

:00:21. > :00:23.Labour are looking for a new candidate to replace

:00:24. > :00:29.the MP Ann Clwyd, who's retiring at next year's general election.

:00:30. > :00:34.Ann Clwyd was elected as Labour MP for the Cynon Valley in 1984.

:00:35. > :00:38.At the time she was only the fourth woman ever to hold a Welsh seat.

:00:39. > :00:43.Labour Party bosses want to replace her with another woman.

:00:44. > :00:47.But some members of the party in the Cynon Valley constituency

:00:48. > :00:51.don't agree and argue they want to find the best

:00:52. > :01:03.What are we recognise the need to extend the representation of women

:01:04. > :01:07.in parliament. What we are unhappy about here is

:01:08. > :01:10.the members have considered the alternative, we were told we are

:01:11. > :01:13.being consulted about the matter then our views have been ignored.

:01:14. > :01:15.Women shortlists have already selected candidates in Aberconwy,

:01:16. > :01:17.Cardiff Central, Cardiff North, Carmarthen West and South

:01:18. > :01:22.Swansea East have still to select a candidate but they're also

:01:23. > :01:25.expected to be asked to choose from a woman-only list.

:01:26. > :01:28.That has caused issues for Labour in the past.

:01:29. > :01:33.There was a bitter dispute over all-women shortlists within

:01:34. > :01:41.the party in Blaenau Gwent at the 2005 general election.

:01:42. > :01:44.The Labour AM Peter Law stood as an independent and overturned

:01:45. > :01:49.But one of the party's biggest supporters

:01:50. > :02:03.of the policy says having more women in politics is a good thing.

:02:04. > :02:11.If we live chance it never happens. If we bring in equality for women

:02:12. > :02:13.and men, they have a future of all the seats in Wales.

:02:14. > :02:16.In a statement, the Welsh Labour Party said it leads

:02:17. > :02:21.the way on female representation in Wales with more women MPs,

:02:22. > :02:25.AMs and councillors than any other party and will continue to do so.

:02:26. > :02:28.Two motorcyclists have died and five other people have been

:02:29. > :02:31.hurt, in a crash between a car and six motorbikes in Flintshire.

:02:42. > :02:46.The alarm was raised at one o'clock, after they failed to return to

:02:47. > :02:52.They're thought to be in a good condition.

:02:53. > :02:56.More stop checks on drivers will be made over the next month by police

:02:57. > :02:59.forces across Wales, as part of a summer anti-drink driving campaign.

:03:00. > :03:02.The family of a man killed by a drunk driver last year are

:03:03. > :03:13.They've been speaking to Paul Heaney.

:03:14. > :03:24.I know something in my heart told me that he had died, I knew before I

:03:25. > :03:28.went in hospital. Julie's son Josh was a passenger in a car last March

:03:29. > :03:34.when it crashed head-on into a tree. The driver was drunk at the time,

:03:35. > :03:44.but survived. Josh didn't. He was 20 years old. My best friend has gone.

:03:45. > :03:51.He has got robbed of growing old. That is the hardest thing for me. We

:03:52. > :03:56.don't live no more, we just exist. To prevent this happening to more

:03:57. > :04:00.families, police forces across Wales will be carrying out more stop

:04:01. > :04:04.checks for drink-driving over the next month. The message, as always,

:04:05. > :04:10.is very simple. A lot of people are of the mindset of it is only down

:04:11. > :04:15.the road, it is only one drink. That little momentary lapse of

:04:16. > :04:20.concentration, you hit a curb, your car spins out of control, that is

:04:21. > :04:28.when you realise, I wish I hadn't had that drink. You have killed

:04:29. > :04:31.somebody. Figures from the last major drink drive campaign by police

:04:32. > :04:35.across Wales show fewer people were caught over the limit behind the

:04:36. > :04:40.wheel, but the message this summer time from the Williams family is

:04:41. > :04:41.there are still far too many people taking risks with other people 's

:04:42. > :04:43.lives. Joe Allen will captain Wales

:04:44. > :04:45.in their match against Gareth Bale, Ashley Williams

:04:46. > :04:49.and Aaron Ramsey will all miss Bale has pulled out because

:04:50. > :04:53.of a leg muscle injury. Glamorgan have been batting

:04:54. > :04:56.on day one of their championship At the close they were all out

:04:57. > :05:07.for 244. The weather forecast now,

:05:08. > :05:18.with Sue Charles. It is the start of June, the

:05:19. > :05:25.meteorological summer. Sunny spells, colder than average. Tonight thicker

:05:26. > :05:29.cloud spreads in from the west, some mist and hill fog, a mild night with

:05:30. > :05:34.him which is staying in double figures. Early mist, cloudy, R

:05:35. > :05:38.Briggs of grisly rain clearing eastwards. The cloud will gradually

:05:39. > :05:45.break through the afternoon, writer spells developing from the West.

:05:46. > :05:52.Tuesday is often cloudy, a mix of sunny spells and showers, a bit

:05:53. > :05:57.colder. These fronts pushing in from the Atlantic keeping things

:05:58. > :05:59.unsettled. Colder, unsettled start to the week but more settled by the

:06:00. > :06:07.end it. Good night.

:06:08. > :06:14.Hello. Most of us have enjoyed at least one day of lovely weather this

:06:15. > :06:20.weekend. That weather will be harder to come by this week. It has been up

:06:21. > :06:22.and down. Yes, rain or showers at times.
