:00:00. > :00:26.That's all from us. Don't forget a first look at the

:00:27. > :00:29.tonight that for adults have died and a baby girl is a serious

:00:30. > :00:34.condition after a collision in Mid Wales. It is believe they are from

:00:35. > :00:42.the same family. The crash involved three vehicles on A44. Our reporter

:00:43. > :00:47.has just sent this report. There can be no doubt that this was

:00:48. > :00:58.a very serious accident on the main road. The police have confirmed this

:00:59. > :01:04.evening that four people have died as a tanker, a car and a van have

:01:05. > :01:09.hit each other. We have confirmation that two men and two women have died

:01:10. > :01:14.in the accident that happened at 2:55pm on this road. It has also

:01:15. > :01:20.been confirmed that a baby girl, believed to be about 18 months old,

:01:21. > :01:24.was taken away from here by ambulance to the University of Wales

:01:25. > :01:29.Hospital suffering from head injuries. Family members have been

:01:30. > :01:34.informed about the accident and they are with family liaison officers. It

:01:35. > :01:40.is believed they are all members of the same family. This stretch of the

:01:41. > :01:43.A44 is likely to be closed for another couple of hours as the

:01:44. > :01:48.police continue with their investigations. I have spoken to one

:01:49. > :01:52.police officer who confirmed that the vehicles, the tanker, the van

:01:53. > :01:59.and the car, will be taken away and taken to a nearby town for a

:02:00. > :02:05.forensic investigation. We will bring you any developments on that

:02:06. > :02:10.story in our bulletins from 6:25am. In other news, the NHS in Wales

:02:11. > :02:16.could find itself facing a financial black hole of at least ?2.5 billion

:02:17. > :02:20.by the middle of the next decade. That is the conclusion of a new

:02:21. > :02:22.study by the Nuffield trust. They formed the Welsh government which

:02:23. > :02:28.commissioned the report that they will have to make tough decisions.

:02:29. > :02:32.Our health correspondent reports. Keeping fit and well, these

:02:33. > :02:35.pensioners don't miss a beat when it comes to living healthily. Every

:02:36. > :02:42.individual should keep themselves fit, in whatever means they find

:02:43. > :02:48.best. In my case, I've got type 2 diabetes, and exercise makes a huge

:02:49. > :02:51.difference to my blood sugar. As a result, many of us are living

:02:52. > :02:58.longer, which comes at a price. Health costs is asked at increased

:02:59. > :03:03.by 3% every year. What you need is a mature debate about whether the

:03:04. > :03:06.electorate want a free comprehensive health service at source, where

:03:07. > :03:11.everybody is equivalent, and that costs money. We need more resources

:03:12. > :03:15.to run a comprehensive health system. While the costs have been

:03:16. > :03:22.increasing, the amount of money the NHS is getting has fallen behind.

:03:23. > :03:26.There is a black hole. Even if the cuts are reversed, by 2025, if

:03:27. > :03:32.spending grows in line with inflation, the NHS could find itself

:03:33. > :03:42.facing a funding void of 2.5 alien pounds, equivalent to over 40% of

:03:43. > :03:49.its total budget today. -- two 5p. -- 2.4 billion pounds. Even if the

:03:50. > :03:55.NHS cup 's costs and finds all the savings it has promised to do, there

:03:56. > :03:58.will be a gap of ?200 million by the end of next year. There's no getting

:03:59. > :04:03.away from the fact that if we want to maintain the quality and range of

:04:04. > :04:08.services we have in Wales and across the UK, we will have to pay more for

:04:09. > :04:18.it. And this has got the politicians talking this afternoon. If the NHS

:04:19. > :04:21.shares the economy with the UK and makes the efficiency and

:04:22. > :04:27.productivity gains, which Nuffield identify as achievable, then the NHS

:04:28. > :04:31.remains affordable. No matter how much gloss you try to paint over

:04:32. > :04:35.this report, it makes for eye watering reading and it shows

:04:36. > :04:40.clearly the chickens are coming home to roost in terms of the lack of

:04:41. > :04:45.priority is given to the Welsh NHS in terms of its funding. The NHS

:04:46. > :04:53.argues it's trying hard to save millions already. There are 400,000

:04:54. > :04:57.patient records here which will disappear when they are digitised.

:04:58. > :05:04.The Welsh government also argues that doing the little things can

:05:05. > :05:07.save a lot. But with the pressure intensifies, filling the financial

:05:08. > :05:11.void with billions could become ever more difficult.

:05:12. > :05:16.The family of teenager Aamir Siddiqi who was stabbed by mistake by two

:05:17. > :05:21.hit men say they no longer have to fear bumping into his killers on the

:05:22. > :05:25.street. Jason Richards and Ben Hope lost appeals against their sentences

:05:26. > :05:31.and will stay behind bars for a minimum of 40 years.

:05:32. > :05:37.For four years, life has been on hold for this family. Grief has been

:05:38. > :05:41.on hold. Waiting for their son's killers to be tried and then appeal

:05:42. > :05:45.against those convictions. The youngest of their young children,

:05:46. > :05:50.Aamir Siddiqi, was killed on that all step. He was 17, killed by two

:05:51. > :05:55.hit men who had gone to the wrong address. His parents were also hurt

:05:56. > :06:04.trying to protect him. The severity of what has happened has left us

:06:05. > :06:10.with emotional scars. Mentally, physically, there are so many

:06:11. > :06:15.elements to this. And there is going to be some long-lasting effects of

:06:16. > :06:21.what has happened. And, you know, we no longer feel safe in our family

:06:22. > :06:27.home. Walking down the street is a tough experience. 39-year-old Jason

:06:28. > :06:32.Richards on the left had his appeal thrown out. 40-year-old Ben Hope's

:06:33. > :06:37.appeal against the length of his conviction was dismissed also. The

:06:38. > :06:41.Court of Appeal said it was an appalling series of crimes and the

:06:42. > :06:48.minimum term of 40 years was a just punishment. I feel sad that they

:06:49. > :06:51.took away something so valuable and they don't know what the value of

:06:52. > :06:56.that was. I wish they understood what they really did. And I think

:06:57. > :07:02.truly then will they understand the enormity of what they have done. I

:07:03. > :07:06.do not feel anything towards them. Aamir Siddiqi's sister says it is

:07:07. > :07:12.the memories and the support of their community which will now help

:07:13. > :07:15.them adjust to life without him. Two people have been arrested as

:07:16. > :07:21.part of an investigation into the death of an elderly woman. She was

:07:22. > :07:28.found with serious and unexplained injuries at a spotty, Canon -- in

:07:29. > :07:32.the area. She was transferred to another hospital where she died.

:07:33. > :07:38.Glamorgan are five wickets away from an innings victory at home to Kent

:07:39. > :07:44.in the County Championship. They reached 527 in their first innings.

:07:45. > :07:50.Ten to 137-5 in their second innings.

:07:51. > :07:59.Now the weather forecast. Another sunny day for some of us?

:08:00. > :08:00.Yes, but some cloud as well. Porthmadog today was the warmest

:08:01. > :08:05.with the top temperature of 24. Porthmadog today was the warmest

:08:06. > :08:09.with the There is plenty more dry weather to come for the rest of this

:08:10. > :08:15.week and over the weekend. Just the odd shower. Amounts will vary from

:08:16. > :08:21.day-to-day and place to place. Tonight, it is a dry story for most

:08:22. > :08:25.of us although the cloud increases. You might see the board shower

:08:26. > :08:32.turning up. It will be a mild and muggy night. Into tomorrow, there

:08:33. > :08:40.will be more dry and better weather to come tomorrow. If you're lucky,

:08:41. > :08:46.you might find a shower. Some like showers, on Wednesday it will be

:08:47. > :08:51.mostly dry. Here is the chart. High pressure is in charge of our

:08:52. > :08:57.weather, but it is not a completely dry story. A cloudy start tomorrow,

:08:58. > :09:02.but gradually brightening up. Some showers breaking out in parts of

:09:03. > :09:07.northern England, Lake District, otherwise most places are dry, the

:09:08. > :09:10.best of the sunshine in the north and west, Scotland and Northern

:09:11. > :09:17.Ireland, with a top temperature in Glasgow of 25. In Wales tomorrow

:09:18. > :09:23.afternoon, mixed fortunes with some cloud, you might catch a shower in

:09:24. > :09:29.parts of powers and the South, otherwise dry, with sunshine. Warm

:09:30. > :09:35.and humid. Somewhat cooler on the north and west coast. And the pollen

:09:36. > :09:41.count once again is high. Into Thursday, generally dry, the cloud

:09:42. > :09:46.raking with sunny spells. 22 in Newport, cooler in the north and

:09:47. > :09:50.west, particularly on the coast. It looks like we're in for a dry

:09:51. > :09:57.weekend, thanks to high pressure. Some more sunshine.

:09:58. > :10:01.That is Wales Today. We're back at breakfast from 6:25am. From me and

:10:02. > :10:03.Derek and all of us on the programme, good night.
