:00:16. > :00:19.Muslims in Cardiff have been urged to know what their children

:00:20. > :00:23.It comes a week after two young men from

:00:24. > :00:27.the city appeared in a video urging others to fight in Syria and Iraq.

:00:28. > :00:29.In an interview with the BBC, the head of Wales'

:00:30. > :00:32.counter-terrorism unit has denied that police have failed to combat

:00:33. > :00:52.Filmed in Cardiff and believed to have been posted on the Internet by

:00:53. > :01:00.Welsh Islamic group now banned in Britain. This footage was published

:01:01. > :01:05.last year. The organisation was banned by the Home Office because it

:01:06. > :01:12.suspects that they are a front for an extremist group. The man in the

:01:13. > :01:19.video is believed to have used this social media account to link himself

:01:20. > :01:23.with the group before it was banned. These pictures on their Twitter

:01:24. > :01:26.account appear to show the group talking to students during a

:01:27. > :01:29.freshers fair at Cardiff University. The authority --

:01:30. > :01:38.University said it spoke to the authorities about this. They believe

:01:39. > :01:44.that this man is also connected to a group -- to another group. In BBC

:01:45. > :01:49.Wales investigation a few years ago revealed their involvement in trying

:01:50. > :01:55.to radicalise a young Muslim man. These pictures are also emerged of

:01:56. > :02:00.another group, banned today. They are believed to have held an event

:02:01. > :02:09.in Cardiff park earlier this month. Today, the imam at a mosque visited

:02:10. > :02:35.by Nasser Muthana and Reyaad Khan called on parents to be aware of

:02:36. > :02:36.what their children are doing. I was talking to on Facebook are the

:02:37. > :02:37.things? : They listened to in their books? In their lectures @, people

:02:38. > :02:38.told us how they felt about the situation, including somebody who

:02:39. > :02:42.knows one of the boys. I can see why he has gone out there. You know the

:02:43. > :02:46.situation is dangerous, so any brother or any younger brother would

:02:47. > :02:56.want to go out there and look for his older brother and the fuse OK.

:02:57. > :03:01.Police in Wales and across the UK tackle radicalisation through a

:03:02. > :03:13.scheme called Prevent. People work together to share information. Three

:03:14. > :03:32.men from Cardiff had travelled to Syria to fight. Wales' most serious

:03:33. > :03:45.-- senior antiterrorism officer says they are doing what they can. Many

:03:46. > :03:49.people saw this man. They realise the police cannot keep hold of

:03:50. > :03:52.everybody. But they do what they can. This ISIS propaganda video

:03:53. > :03:55.emerged last week. The appearance in it of Nasser Muthana and Reyaad Khan

:03:56. > :03:58.and the disappearance of his younger brother, is a failure on their part.

:03:59. > :03:59.But it maintains that kind of does not have any radicalisation problem

:04:00. > :03:59.and these men are in a small minority.

:04:00. > :04:01.Too many children in Wales are being bullied in school

:04:02. > :04:04.Research from the schools inspectorate Estyn found that

:04:05. > :04:07.despite being obliged by law to tackle the issue, bullying is still

:04:08. > :04:12.Some estimates say, as many as half of all children have suffered at

:04:13. > :04:30.An articulate boy who was full of love. That was his mother's

:04:31. > :04:33.description. He took an overdose, unable to bear the bullying. I would

:04:34. > :04:40.not have expected him to do something like this. He loved life.

:04:41. > :04:46.According to Estyn today, bullying remains a problem for too many

:04:47. > :04:50.children. The inspectors find that not enough schools are identifying

:04:51. > :04:55.and recording incidents effectively. Schools do not always keep the best

:04:56. > :04:58.records of bullying. They keep records of behavioural incidents but

:04:59. > :05:02.do little with classify them as bullying. They do not always look at

:05:03. > :05:09.the patterns of bullying which can inform future practice. The report

:05:10. > :05:15.points to some good practice. At this primary school in Swansea, they

:05:16. > :05:18.have tackle the issue. We write our own equality plan so that everybody

:05:19. > :05:25.knows that we have to respect everybody else. Each class has a

:05:26. > :05:31.worry box for them to write their worries down if they feel shy about

:05:32. > :05:35.talking to a teacher. But it is thought that as many as half of our

:05:36. > :05:40.schoolchildren experienced bullying at some point in their school

:05:41. > :05:44.lives. Estyn found that even schools with good strategies to address it

:05:45. > :05:47.do not have a common understanding of how important it is to focus on

:05:48. > :05:52.groups of pupils more likely to be at risk, such as gay pupils, those

:05:53. > :06:02.with a disability or those were my -- from a minority ethnic

:06:03. > :06:07.background. But this mother fears that the finding miss the point and

:06:08. > :06:11.they need to change the culture of schools with the same zero tolerance

:06:12. > :06:15.that is applied to racism. The first time it happens, the charge should

:06:16. > :06:19.be punished. The second time, the parents should be dragged in and

:06:20. > :06:25.dealt with. The third time, the charge of the excluded and put into

:06:26. > :06:29.a situation where their behaviour can be dealt with. Estyn has issued

:06:30. > :06:33.a check list which once all schools to use in tackling performance on

:06:34. > :06:34.the issue. The government says it is also sending more guidance to

:06:35. > :06:39.schools. A woman on a Mothering Sunday walk

:06:40. > :06:42.on a Carmarthenshire beach drowned after being cut off by a fast-moving

:06:43. > :06:45.tide, an inquest has heard. 68 year old, Susan Hackett,

:06:46. > :06:47.was with her daughter Emma Mrs Hackett's daughter tried to ring

:06:48. > :06:52.999 on her mobile phone but couldn't The Coroner recorded a verdict

:06:53. > :06:57.of death by misadventure. A task force has been set up

:06:58. > :07:00.at Wrexham's Glyndwr University aimed at lifting its suspension

:07:01. > :07:03.from recruiting overseas students. It follows a Home Office inquiry

:07:04. > :07:07.into alleged visa fraud. The university said senior staff

:07:08. > :07:09.were looking to explore and implement solutions to issues

:07:10. > :07:13.raised. Two unions have passed no confidence

:07:14. > :07:19.motions in university heads. Cyclist Becky James has withdrawn

:07:20. > :07:21.from next month's The 22-year-old from Abergavenny was

:07:22. > :07:26.one of Wales' main medal hopes but has been forced to pull out

:07:27. > :07:30.after an aggravated knee injury. Becky won two gold medals at

:07:31. > :07:37.the World Championships last year. Meanwhile, it's been confirmed

:07:38. > :07:39.Olympic Champion Geraint Thomas, has been selected for Team Sky to race

:07:40. > :07:42.in the Tour de France, which starts The 28-year-old came second

:07:43. > :07:46.in the British time trial championship last night, finishing

:07:47. > :07:53.behind Sir Bradley Wiggins. Plenty of rain about today -

:07:54. > :08:12.will it ease off for the weekend? Mix. Very sharp showers. A Met

:08:13. > :08:15.Office warning remains in place for further heavy rain at times. If we

:08:16. > :08:18.look at the map tonight, Tonight, those showers tend to peter

:08:19. > :08:20.out northwards, generally easing Mist and fog patches forming with

:08:21. > :08:24.overnight lows between 9C and 13C. The front which brought today's rain

:08:25. > :08:27.slowly sinks back south Some early mist to start,

:08:28. > :08:30.variable cloud. A few scattered showers developing

:08:31. > :08:34.but those showers also across the Midlands and south of England

:08:35. > :08:38.as that front moves southwards, The best of the weather for northern

:08:39. > :08:43.England, Scotland and Northern Ireland - drier with sunny spells

:08:44. > :08:47.here, feeling slightly fresher than And a drier end to the day

:08:48. > :08:54.across north and mid Wales - sunny spells developing, just a few

:08:55. > :08:57.showers could linger further south. Again temperatures slightly

:08:58. > :08:59.lower than of late. Tomorrow night into Sunday, this

:09:00. > :09:03.front clears away south-eastwards. Showers easing, turning drier

:09:04. > :09:07.but a bit cooler behind that front. Sunday's drier and brighter,

:09:08. > :09:10.just one or two isolated showers with some sunny spells especially

:09:11. > :09:15.in the west and southwest. And though temperatures are

:09:16. > :09:18.down slightly, still feeling So an improving picture as we head

:09:19. > :09:23.through the weekend - looking largely fine for Monday and Tuesday

:09:24. > :09:44.- but early signs of things turning keep up-to-date with the detail on

:09:45. > :09:51.the website. Thank you very much. That is Wales

:09:52. > :09:57.Today. We are back at 7:20pm tomorrow. Also updates on the radio
