:00:31. > :00:33.This latest report was carried out after Britain's biggest police

:00:34. > :00:43.Tony Parris is one of the original Cardiff Three -

:00:44. > :00:46.men wrongly convicted and jailed for the murder of Lynette White.

:00:47. > :00:49.Back on Valentine's Day 1988, Miss White, who was 20 at the time,

:00:50. > :00:52.was found murdered in this Butetown flat.

:00:53. > :00:57.Despite reports of a white man seen fleeing the scene,

:00:58. > :01:02.It wasn't until 1992 that Tony Parris,

:01:03. > :01:07.Yusef Abdulahi and Stephen Miller had their convictions quashed.

:01:08. > :01:10.Advances in DNA finally led to the arrest

:01:11. > :01:19.After that a new inquiry was launched into what went wrong with

:01:20. > :01:24.Eight former South Wales officers were charged with perverting

:01:25. > :01:27.the course of justice - the biggest case of its kind

:01:28. > :01:32.However, their trial collapsed when it was thought evidence files

:01:33. > :01:37.The missing paperwork later turned up.

:01:38. > :01:40.Following the collapse of the trial, a large number of complaints were

:01:41. > :01:46.The Devon and Cornwall force were asked to investigate perjury,

:01:47. > :01:51.conspiracy and other allegations of misconduct.

:01:52. > :01:55.Today, the operation published their findings and most

:01:56. > :02:05.The report concluded there was no evidence of criminality or

:02:06. > :02:09.misconduct by officers, although it did recommend 34 different areas

:02:10. > :02:16.in which South Wales Police could improve their procedures in future.

:02:17. > :02:19.South Wales Police said the report reflected the good faith

:02:20. > :02:22.and professional leadership with which officers approached

:02:23. > :02:27.the important investigation into the earlier police inquiry.

:02:28. > :02:30.The Police and Crime Commissioner says the report's findings are

:02:31. > :02:33.reassuring and points the finger for the collapse of the trial

:02:34. > :02:40.The question is one for the Crown Prosecution Service.

:02:41. > :02:45.A highly critical report from the inspector,

:02:46. > :02:50.I am not sure what has happened as a result of that, and that is

:02:51. > :02:57.The total cost of trials, quashed convictions and investigations is

:02:58. > :03:04.But for Tony Parris, it is another report that has failed to

:03:05. > :03:07.give himm the answers he was looking for.

:03:08. > :03:12.I don't expect anything from the system.

:03:13. > :03:18.I just want to relax now, it has gone on 26 years,

:03:19. > :03:24.More than a quarter of a century on, the truth about what happened has

:03:25. > :03:27.long been established but the conduct of the police investigation

:03:28. > :03:32.Lawyers for those wrongly jailed are still hoping the Home Secretary

:03:33. > :03:39.Also today, the Home Secretary, Theresa May, has announced

:03:40. > :03:43.a new chair to lead the review into how the police handled the murder

:03:44. > :03:48.The private investigator from Cwmbran was killed with

:03:49. > :03:53.No-one has been convicted of his murder.

:03:54. > :03:56.Baroness Nuala O'Loan, a former Police Ombudsman for Northern

:03:57. > :04:03.Horizon, the company responsible for the planned new Wylfa nuclear power

:04:04. > :04:07.station on Anglesey, says it won't produce any power until at least

:04:08. > :04:14.Meanwhile, plans for power lines to link up the new

:04:15. > :04:17.Wylfa and offshore windfarms with the Grid have also been delayed.

:04:18. > :04:20.Some people want the cables to run under the sea

:04:21. > :04:24.National Grid says it wants to ensure it takes

:04:25. > :04:30.A woman who was abused by her uncle, a Jehovah's Witness elder has

:04:31. > :04:33.spoken about her anger at the way the Church handled her case.

:04:34. > :04:36.Karen Morgan from Barry says they failed to act on her complaint.

:04:37. > :04:39.Yesterday, Mark Sewell was jailed for 14 years

:04:40. > :04:44.A spokesman for the Jehovah's Witnesses has said police

:04:45. > :04:51.She is putting her life back together

:04:52. > :04:54.but Karen Morgan says she is still struggling to come to terms with

:04:55. > :05:01.I really was more naive, I would say, than other girls my age,

:05:02. > :05:08.which is how he was able to groom me and he was able to do it very

:05:09. > :05:15.53-year-old Mark Sewell was jailed for 14 years yesterday

:05:16. > :05:19.after being convicted of eight sexual offences against women

:05:20. > :05:25.Born and brought up as a Jehovah's Witness, the Church was the family's

:05:26. > :05:31.life and so when the abuse began, it was to the Church they turned.

:05:32. > :05:34.What Karen went through as a result she now says is harder

:05:35. > :05:43.Those group of elders who sat me as a child in front of a guy who

:05:44. > :05:47.had been abusing me for years and expected me to talk about it

:05:48. > :05:52.in front of him and him calling me a liar, I mean, I think that has

:05:53. > :05:58.probably had the most effect on the rest of my life

:05:59. > :06:03.because what he did to me I have had to try to deal with, but I have also

:06:04. > :06:07.had to try and deal with the fact of how the whole thing was handled.

:06:08. > :06:13.It is that part that I am just, I want answers for that.

:06:14. > :06:15.Today, a spokesman for the congregation

:06:16. > :06:19.in Barry said that because these offences happened 20 years ago,

:06:20. > :06:23.no-one there now knew of Mark Sewell.

:06:24. > :06:26.But in a statement from the organisation in London,

:06:27. > :06:29.they say Mark Sewell was expelled over 20 years ago.

:06:30. > :06:33.He has not served in any position of authority since then.

:06:34. > :06:38.When any Jehovah's Witness is accused of serious wrongdoing,

:06:39. > :06:45.They say victims are never forced to attend a meeting or confront

:06:46. > :06:49.an alleged perpetrator of child abuse and procedures are

:06:50. > :06:55.Karen has no regrets about waving her right to anonymity.

:06:56. > :06:59.She has already been contacted by dozens of people thanking her

:07:00. > :07:07.She is now looking forward and wants changes made

:07:08. > :07:13.A candlelit vigil has taken place in Denbigh tonight for a

:07:14. > :07:16.73-year-old man who's gone missing on the Greek island of Crete.

:07:17. > :07:19.Arthur Jones hasn't been seen since June 19th - two days

:07:20. > :07:24.The Denbigh community has come together to raise money

:07:25. > :07:29.for his family, who have travelled to the island.
