:00:38. > :00:50.There are around 54,000 motorcycles licensed on the roads of Wales.

:00:54. > :01:01.But it's a sobering thought that the risk of being killed or

:01:02. > :01:03.seriously injured on a motorbike is around 78 times greater than

:01:04. > :01:11.Last year, there were 17 motorcycle deaths on the roads here.

:01:12. > :01:16.But already this year, that figure's almost been matched

:01:17. > :01:25.In one, there have been 11 deaths already, up from two last year and

:01:26. > :01:31.Police say the beautiful countryside of Mid and

:01:32. > :01:33.North Wales is a draw for bikers, but excessive speeds, particularly

:01:34. > :01:41.The typical person buying a bike is between 35 and 50.

:01:42. > :01:45.People who've got a bit of disposable income,

:01:46. > :01:51.they are going back to bikes and not getting any further training,

:01:52. > :01:54.going out not regularly so they're permanent novices, if you like.

:01:55. > :02:00.They are buying big powerful bikes and getting into trouble.

:02:01. > :02:03.As we get older, our reactions get slower and eyesight starts to go.
