:01:39. > :01:41.There are exclusion criteria for certain groups of patients.

:01:42. > :01:44.Vulnerable patient such as the elderly or such as somebody

:01:45. > :01:46.with dementia would not be suitable to be transported by taxi.

:01:47. > :01:48.Those patients will continue to travel with ambulance crew,

:01:49. > :01:51.Taxis will be organised from the ambulance control room

:01:52. > :01:56.They are already used to ferry people to hospital

:01:57. > :02:01.for routine appointments but this new development is said to

:02:02. > :02:06.bridge the gap between that provision and situations where

:02:07. > :02:11.people need the speed and facilities only an ambulance can provide.

:02:12. > :02:14.The Unite union said it hadn't seen the details but the staff they

:02:15. > :02:17.represent believe the only real answer is more ambulance crews.

:02:18. > :02:20.This is only going to be a sticking plaster solution, in my view,

:02:21. > :02:26.The long-term solution is more crews, more vehicles
