:00:00. > :00:16.evening. Now

:00:17. > :00:20.A drugs haul with an estimated street value of ?100 million

:00:21. > :00:24.may have been heading to Pwllheli, on the North Wales coast.

:00:25. > :00:26.Earlier this week a yacht carrying an estimated tonne

:00:27. > :00:30.of cocaine was intercepted by the Irish Navy in the Atlantic.

:00:31. > :00:33.National Crime Agency officers have been searching a boat seized

:00:34. > :00:36.from Pwllheli Marina which they believe was involved.

:00:37. > :00:56.Under close forensic examination, a 25 foot motor cruiser, that officers

:00:57. > :01:01.suspect of a transatlantic smuggling operation. It was a complex,

:01:02. > :01:05.details, multinational intelligence operation which led the National

:01:06. > :01:12.Crime Agency to this boat, and operations spanning half a globe

:01:13. > :01:21.from Venezuela to Wales. 200 miles south-west of Cork, the yacht is

:01:22. > :01:26.shadowed by an Irish Navy vessel. It was stormed by elite forces. On

:01:27. > :01:31.board, around ?100 million worth of cocaine, destined, it is believed,

:01:32. > :01:36.for the north-east of England. It is summer in the region of a tonne of

:01:37. > :01:42.cocaine, that is about just short of 5% of the entire UK consumption in

:01:43. > :01:46.any given year. The yacht was tracked by the British MCA and

:01:47. > :01:51.French customs out of Venezuelan. She put briefly into Trinidad before

:01:52. > :01:56.setting out on a transatlantic crossing. The intercept came 200

:01:57. > :02:00.miles of Mizen head in Ireland. Had she been allowed to continue, it is

:02:01. > :02:07.believed the vessel would have made a rendezvous with a smaller boat

:02:08. > :02:11.some way -- near Pwllheli. The yacht is now being held in Cork where its

:02:12. > :02:17.crew is being questioned by Irish police. The

:02:18. > :02:19.crew is being questioned by Irish operation. We trained for this quite

:02:20. > :02:25.rigorously and we evaluate ourselves to make sure we do it properly. The

:02:26. > :02:30.results are evident in how successful the operation was. This

:02:31. > :02:37.joint task force between ourselves, the customs and the police. This

:02:38. > :02:44.operation was about unity of command, unity of purpose and unity

:02:45. > :02:48.of effort, of all three agencies. This operation is far from over with

:02:49. > :02:54.suspects still being questioned in Ireland and here in the UK. National

:02:55. > :02:55.Crime Agency officers believe they are close to cracking a major

:02:56. > :02:58.smuggling ring. Welsh MPs helped to vote in favour

:02:59. > :03:01.of military action in Iraq earlier. Just five voted against as

:03:02. > :03:04.Parliament was recalled for the day. Before that,

:03:05. > :03:16.members debated the merits The Kurds we can to spend on

:03:17. > :03:20.although there are disputes between the Kurds and the Iraqi central

:03:21. > :03:24.doc-mac which will have to be resolved in some way. But I fully

:03:25. > :03:29.support this resolution. It is a footstep on the right direction. We

:03:30. > :03:33.are falling into a vortex in the middle east of hatred that is

:03:34. > :03:37.ancient and deep, and once we start this process, it will be almost

:03:38. > :03:40.impossible in the future to extricate ourselves from it.

:03:41. > :03:43.Here, the prospect of air strikes against Islamic State targets has

:03:44. > :03:45.been followed closely by the Iraqi and wider Muslim community.

:03:46. > :03:47.Our reporter Nick Palit has been around Cardiff

:03:48. > :04:02.City Road in Cardiff is probably the most cosmopolitan Street in Wales.

:04:03. > :04:06.All shades of opinion from all parts of the world. Today the talk of the

:04:07. > :04:12.bars and cafes is a situation in Iraq. This man runs the Baghdad

:04:13. > :04:17.market on city Road and is in Iraqi Iraq. This man runs the Baghdad

:04:18. > :04:25.mechanical engineer turned grocer. His customers come for stand --

:04:26. > :04:31.taste of home. Do you think Britain should bomb Iraq ayes I think so. I

:04:32. > :04:38.think we should try and get rid of them. A few doors up, this man is of

:04:39. > :04:44.the same opinion. He is a Kurdish Iraqi, now a British citizen. He

:04:45. > :04:49.volunteers here and is angry that IS have hijacked his religion. I think

:04:50. > :04:56.Britain can stop them doing more of these things. Targeting people --

:04:57. > :05:01.killing people for no reason. It is Friday prayers at this mosque, just

:05:02. > :05:05.near city Road. Here, opinion is divided on whether air strike in

:05:06. > :05:08.Iraq are the best way of tackling Islamic State. ISAs, I don't

:05:09. > :05:14.Iraq are the best way of tackling with them but I do not take air

:05:15. > :05:19.strikes will help. Civilians will be... How many casualties we will

:05:20. > :05:25.have, civilian casualties. I think it will be a good thing, because the

:05:26. > :05:31.Islamic countries will join. it will be a good thing, because the

:05:32. > :05:37.been living in Cardiff more than anywhere else in my whole life. As a

:05:38. > :05:41.family, most of my boys were schooled in Cardiff. But this doctor

:05:42. > :05:45.still has relatives in his Kurdish homeland and has been following the

:05:46. > :05:49.debate in Parliament. Although he is in favour of air strikes and he does

:05:50. > :05:55.not wanted to go any further. We do not want any foreign foot in

:05:56. > :06:01.Kurdistan. Kurds could deal with the problem. All they need is, don't let

:06:02. > :06:07.us down again. Support Kurdistan, supported as they deserve. And then,

:06:08. > :06:16.I think that part of Kurdistan will be safe from the incursion of ISIL

:06:17. > :06:20.and in -- and their affiliates. Back on city Road, there are mixed views

:06:21. > :06:24.on whether air strikes on Iraq are the right course of action. But for

:06:25. > :06:27.many, it is there are mixed views on whether air strikes on Iraq are the

:06:28. > :06:34.right course of action. But for many, it is their relatives others

:06:35. > :06:39.say it is the only way to tackle I S.

:06:40. > :06:42.A vulnerable man who was allegedly forced to work for 13 years

:06:43. > :06:44.at a Newport farm without pay has told a court

:06:45. > :06:48.Darrell Simester, who's 44, agreed under cross-examination that

:06:49. > :06:51.the defendants had never done anything to keep him there, but,

:06:52. > :06:54.he said, when his family found him, he was glad to get out.

:06:55. > :06:56.Daniel Dooran and his son, also called Daniel, deny requiring

:06:57. > :06:59.Mr Simester to perform forced or compulsory labour.

:07:00. > :07:02.Researchers at Cardiff University say nearly one in seven antibiotic

:07:03. > :07:05.treatments given out by GPs for common infections over

:07:06. > :07:12.Their study assessed around 11 million prescriptions

:07:13. > :07:20.Wales' Jamie Donaldson made the perfect start to

:07:21. > :07:25.Paired with Lee Westwood, they beat their American opponents

:07:26. > :07:29.That point has helped Europe lead overnight by 5 points to 3.

:07:30. > :07:39.The pair will also team up for tomorrow morning's fourballs.

:07:40. > :07:48.I think he was very fortunate to have a guy of Lee Westwood's calibre

:07:49. > :07:50.interspersed Ryder Cup match. He was an unfortunate situation. It has

:07:51. > :07:53.helped him relax and play well. Rugby, and in the Pro12 tonight,

:07:54. > :07:55.the Scarlets drew 20-20 Harry Robinson scored a try after

:07:56. > :07:59.just 36 seconds for the visitors, In Ireland, the Cardiff Blues

:08:00. > :08:06.were beaten 37-23 at Leinster. Time for the weekend weather -

:08:07. > :08:19.Sue is here. It is not looking too bad for the

:08:20. > :08:19.weekend. Mostly dry with sunny spells,

:08:20. > :08:20.It is not looking too bad for the weekend. Mostly dry with sunny

:08:21. > :08:28.spells, some cloud around, but quite warm. If we look at the map, clear

:08:29. > :08:34.skies for most, turning colder than last night with mist and fog. Seven

:08:35. > :08:37.or eight Celsius for towns, cooler in the countryside, milder along the

:08:38. > :08:41.South coast. The pressure chart shows the weather front making some

:08:42. > :08:46.inroads tomorrow morning. But it is fairly weak. Not much activity. A

:08:47. > :08:50.chilly start tomorrow, some mist and fog. And often cloudy morning across

:08:51. > :08:55.Wales were some dense fog patches across the South of England. Some

:08:56. > :09:00.drizzle from that front further West. Generally dry with quite a lot

:09:01. > :09:05.of cloud further South. Sunny spells more likely for the North of England

:09:06. > :09:10.and Scotland. 15 Celsius in the brisk winds. Still in the low 20s in

:09:11. > :09:13.the South of England. A largely dry end to the day. Right spells, some

:09:14. > :09:21.cloud, lighter winds coming from the South. 17 to 20 Celsius. Tomorrow

:09:22. > :09:25.night, more cloud, mist and fog forming, the spot of drizzle, milder

:09:26. > :09:30.than tonight, temperatures staying in double figures. Similar on

:09:31. > :09:35.Sunday. Just the odd spot of rain. Most, staying dry with sunny spells,

:09:36. > :09:40.light winds and very mild, high teens to low 20s. Not looking bad at

:09:41. > :09:46.all as we head to the weekend. Staying largely dry and mild. Some

:09:47. > :09:50.sunny spells, some cloud, but with temperatures three or 4 degrees

:09:51. > :09:57.above the average late September. And that is all for now. We will be

:09:58. > :10:02.back at 6pm tomorrow. Have a great weekend.
