:01:59. > :02:00.with more funding for school children from deprived families.
:02:01. > :02:03.It has always been the Welsh Liberal Democrat priority to make sure that
:02:04. > :02:06.we begin to close the educational funding gap that exists between
:02:07. > :02:09.England and Wales, starting with our poorest pupils first. We have
:02:10. > :02:13.secured an increase in the amount of money that goes to schools to
:02:14. > :02:19.educate our most vulnerable children.
:02:20. > :02:22.The deal includes completing a long-awaited link road
:02:23. > :02:25.to Cardiff Bay and a pledge not to start building
:02:26. > :02:29.the new M4 relief road near Newport before the next assembly election.
:02:30. > :02:31.It was the government's support for that motorway which drove
:02:32. > :02:42.Unfortunately if you take money away from social services and
:02:43. > :02:48.from other supporting budgets, the elderly will suffer and there will
:02:49. > :02:50.be a merry-go-round and increased pressure
:02:51. > :02:52.will come on the health service again.
:02:53. > :02:55.Few AMs would begrudge a shot in the arm for the NHS.
:02:56. > :03:08.The reason the UK government is having to make cuts is
:03:09. > :03:10.because of the previous UK Labour government spending too much money.
:03:11. > :03:14.The debt has got to be paid off, even the Labour Party know that.
:03:15. > :03:16.But with the amount of money the assembly is getting, ?15 billion,
:03:17. > :03:27.the health service could be more of a priority.
:03:28. > :03:34.The people of Wales will be pleased to hear we are putting in ?425
:03:35. > :03:38.million into their health service but we have advice from the Nuffield
:03:39. > :03:41.foundation saying if we put this investment in, we can make the
:03:42. > :03:45.health service affordable and sustainable in Wales.
:03:46. > :03:46.If you were Carwyn Jones' Finance Minister,
:03:47. > :03:55.You have got to spend more on hospital nurses.
:03:56. > :04:00.the Accident and Emergency Department is going so the nearest
