:00:22. > :00:24.A two minute silence was held at 11 o'clock, to pay tribute to

:00:25. > :00:27.those killed in World Wars One and Two, and later conflicts.

:00:28. > :00:37.A time to remember and reflect on the sacrifice of others,

:00:38. > :00:40.at the Welsh National War Memorial in Cardiff.

:00:41. > :00:44.Current servicemen and women were among those taking part

:00:45. > :00:49.The Last Post sounded here and in ceremonies up and down the country,

:00:50. > :01:16.Politicians and religious leaders were among those

:01:17. > :01:19.who laid wreaths, in honour of those who were killed

:01:20. > :01:24.or injured serving their country, not only in past conflicts.

:01:25. > :01:28.And it's encouraging to see that more

:01:29. > :01:34.We know just how important it is, not just to remember those who have

:01:35. > :01:36.fallen in conflicts past but to remember those who are

:01:37. > :01:41.Clifford Shore served in the Royal Regiment of Gunners

:01:42. > :01:51.I am proud that I did what I did and I was in what I was in.

:01:52. > :01:56.And I think of the wonderful crowd of people.

:01:57. > :01:59.And people think very highly of us, which is very nice.

:02:00. > :02:02.We fought for the country to be free.

:02:03. > :02:05.Freedom of thought, freedom of speech,

:02:06. > :02:10.If you don't like something, we are allowed to speak up against it.

:02:11. > :02:13.And that's what we fought for. Not to be downtrodden.

:02:14. > :02:16.In Aberystwyth, white poppy wreaths were included

:02:17. > :02:21.in the official remembrance ceremony for the first time.

:02:22. > :02:23.It was very important. The Aberystwyth peace and justice

:02:24. > :02:34.network had the support of the council since 2004.

:02:35. > :02:36.We had the support of the town council

:02:37. > :02:38.for the laying of a white poppy wreath, since 2004,

:02:39. > :02:42.trying to combine the ceremony so that everything could happen at

:02:43. > :02:45.once, so this year's really, really special that we were able to do it.

:02:46. > :02:48.For many of the current service men and women here today and

:02:49. > :02:51.their families, this is a poignant and at times painful event.

:02:52. > :02:54.But they are encouraged by the presence of

:02:55. > :03:05.so many young people here, that lessons are being passed on.

:03:06. > :03:08.A murder investigation has been launched

:03:09. > :03:10.after a 22-year-old man died following an assault in Llanelli.

:03:11. > :03:15.Simon Lee Bell was taken to hospital after the incident on Dillwyn Street

:03:16. > :03:18.Two men, aged 30 and 52, have been arrested.

:03:24. > :03:27.Falklands veteran Simon Weston has described

:03:28. > :03:30.the much-delayed Iraq war inquiry as "an insult to the memories
