:00:00. > :00:17.Television advertising of sugary and fatty foods should be banned

:00:18. > :00:20.before 9pm - that's the call from the Welsh Health Minister

:00:21. > :00:25.Mark Drakeford says young people already consume three times

:00:26. > :00:28.the recommended amounts of fizzy drinks and confectionery - and he

:00:29. > :00:32.believes a co-ordinated approach is needed to tackle obesity.

:00:33. > :00:49.This is the way fizzy drinks were targeted to children on TV in

:00:50. > :00:53.decades past the four obesity came an issue. And even when you are just

:00:54. > :00:58.as likely to have pop delivered to your door than the daily pint of

:00:59. > :01:04.milk. Now been all the dangers that this sort of food can mean to

:01:05. > :01:09.long-term health. This is why some want the targeting of these things

:01:10. > :01:17.to children banned before the 9pm watershed. To press on them food and

:01:18. > :01:21.drink that could only be harmful to their health in future, the is ample

:01:22. > :01:25.evidence of the way children and young people are heavily influenced

:01:26. > :01:30.by things that are deliberately pushed at them through advertising.

:01:31. > :01:38.It is a standard supported by the Nitish heart foundation here in

:01:39. > :01:43.Wales. Pushing away the Christmas pudding and other sugary treats

:01:44. > :01:50.doing as such harm. Some would also like to see a ban on online

:01:51. > :01:58.marketing to children. Wales had the biggest online marketing to children

:01:59. > :02:02.in the UK which is why I think it is vitally important we educate young

:02:03. > :02:06.people and families but also have manufacturers behaving in a

:02:07. > :02:10.responsible manner and not targeting their products to young people. The

:02:11. > :02:17.public health minister said they were committed to turning the tide

:02:18. > :02:20.on childhood obesity. They say there is a comprehensive strategy working

:02:21. > :02:25.out all the factors which contribute to obesity including sugar

:02:26. > :02:28.consumption and a report will be published in the coming months.

:02:29. > :02:31.The body representing Universities in Wales says the way Welsh students

:02:32. > :02:34.The Welsh Government pays the majority of Welsh students'

:02:35. > :02:37.tuition fees, wherever they choose to study in the UK.

:02:38. > :02:39.But Universities Wales say ministers should only be helping

:02:40. > :02:42.Here's our Political Correspondent, Arwyn Jones.

:02:43. > :02:44.Most universities in Wales and England charge around ?9,000

:02:45. > :02:50.Students in Wales only pay ?3500 whenever

:02:51. > :02:56.The Welsh government picks up the tab for the rest,

:02:57. > :03:03.The policy is very generous to students in Wales but universities

:03:04. > :03:08.Now, the body representing all the Wales universities is calling

:03:09. > :03:13.for the current system to be replaced by a means-tested grant.

:03:14. > :03:17.You could decide to spread the resource equally and relatively

:03:18. > :03:21.thinly or you could say let's focus on the areas of most need, those who

:03:22. > :03:27.come from disadvantaged backgrounds perhaps or areas that need most

:03:28. > :03:33.Means testing would mean those students who really need support

:03:34. > :03:41.would get support and those who are more able to support themselves

:03:42. > :03:44.would be more able to do that and that is surely fair.

:03:45. > :03:53.It is the system we have just now with maintenance grants.

:03:54. > :03:55.The Welsh government says more money comes into Wales through

:03:56. > :03:58.the current scheme than goes out and students from Wales leave

:03:59. > :04:00.university with less debt than English counterparts.

:04:01. > :04:02.It is being reviewed at the moment with findings expected

:04:03. > :04:04.to be published after next year's assembly elections.

:04:05. > :04:07.Wales' Finance Minister has told BBC Wales it's "very worrying" that the

:04:08. > :04:09.so-called fairer funding for Wales offered by the Chancellor is only

:04:10. > :04:13.George Osborne announced this week that he would introduce a

:04:14. > :04:16."funding floor" which means that public spending in Wales would be

:04:17. > :04:24.at least ?1.15 for every pound spent in England.

:04:25. > :04:33.We were extremely disappointed that the Chancellor said this is only for

:04:34. > :04:37.this term of Parliament. It is very important now we sit down and work

:04:38. > :04:41.out the detail. They have said it could be be set for next parliament

:04:42. > :04:47.which could mean they get rid of it. We have to now put this... The

:04:48. > :04:51.Barnett formula has in here since 1968 and if we are going to have

:04:52. > :04:54.this funding for it has to be permanent.

:04:55. > :04:56.Tributes have been paid to the broadcaster, Sian Pari Huws, who has

:04:57. > :05:01.She started her career as a journalist with BBC Wales

:05:02. > :05:05.The voice of both Good Morning and Good Evening Wales, she also

:05:06. > :05:07.fronted major cultural events for Radio Wales and Radio Cymru.

:05:08. > :05:09.The Director of BBC Wales, Rhodri Talfan Davies,

:05:10. > :05:17.has described her as a champion - for our arts and language.

:05:18. > :05:32.Have lost 1-0 away to Liverpool at Anfield.

:05:33. > :05:36.The home side took the lead after Neil Taylor gave a penalty away

:05:37. > :05:40.Rugby, and in the Pro 12 the Scarlets

:05:41. > :05:43.survived a second half comeback by Zebre to win 20 points to 12.

:05:44. > :05:46.TWO tries early on put the Scarlets 17 points up at half-time.

:05:47. > :05:51.It's been a windy day so far so let's take a look

:05:52. > :05:53.at the forecast and the rain will ease from the North

:05:54. > :05:56.this evening and it will become less blustery with some clear spells.

:05:57. > :05:58.But overnight, cloud will thicken from the

:05:59. > :06:02.Much colder in the north starting the day at around five celsius.

:06:03. > :06:16.We'll be back with all the latest at 10:20.

:06:17. > :06:17.Disruption to power across the UK and
