:00:23. > :00:25.Residents in Gwynedd and Anglesey have been assessing the damage

:00:26. > :00:28.to their homes, and the A55 dual carriageway - which

:00:29. > :00:30.was shut near Bangor - has now been re-opened.

:00:31. > :00:32.Today, there have been calls for the Welsh Government

:00:33. > :00:48.Flood water being pumped out of the cellars of a high street.

:00:49. > :00:50.This resilient town is once again open for business

:00:51. > :01:05.despite the flooding yesterday and today's cleanup operation.

:01:06. > :01:08.We had farmers down with tractors, we had all the locals out.

:01:09. > :01:11.Basically we had to make do with what we had.

:01:12. > :01:13.Yes, we had properties which went underwater,

:01:14. > :01:16.which is not what you want, but had the people not come out,

:01:17. > :01:20.The high velocity pump in attendance on Anglesey came from Newtown

:01:21. > :01:23.in Powys, they were told that the appliance from Llandudno

:01:24. > :01:31.could not get to the island because the A55 in Bangor was shut.

:01:32. > :01:34.It is not the first time the stretch of the coastal area has flooded

:01:35. > :01:37.and now opposition parties are calling for the Welsh Government

:01:38. > :01:41.They have not done the necessary work to make sure that this vital

:01:42. > :01:44.artery into the north-west of Wales remains open after heavy rain.

:01:45. > :01:47.Now this is it, this must be the last time that this happens

:01:48. > :01:50.because it is a risk to lives as well as being a major

:01:51. > :01:51.inconvenience for this part of Wales.

:01:52. > :01:54.The Welsh Government has said it has invested significantly in flood risk

:01:55. > :01:57.management schemes in North Wales and will now work with local

:01:58. > :02:00.authorities to see what additional action can be taken to speed up

:02:01. > :02:03.the work to protect homes and motorists.

:02:04. > :02:06.That cannot come soon enough for the people of this area whose

:02:07. > :02:19.Not for the motorists who were stranded as five main

:02:20. > :02:25.The roads have now we opened and residents are returning them.

:02:26. > :02:28.The roads have now we opened and residents are returning to them.

:02:29. > :02:29.But the damage cannot be fixed overnight.

:02:30. > :02:32.It has taken 20 years to restore this walled botanical garden.

:02:33. > :02:37.And now the work starts all over again.

:02:38. > :02:41.The lower wall has collapsed and as you can see, it has taken

:02:42. > :02:52.It has flooded down the valley and we have found pieces

:02:53. > :02:54.of the walled garden, right down at the bottom

:02:55. > :02:58.We have had thousands of people ringing up to support me.

:02:59. > :03:01.As Anthony thinks about replanting his garden,

:03:02. > :03:04.there remain four more flood warnings in place in Wales tonight.

:03:05. > :03:06.Forecasters predict more rain over the next few days.

:03:07. > :03:08.Police in Caerphilly are investigating after thieves

:03:09. > :03:09.broke into a church on Christmas Day.

:03:10. > :03:13.They tried to steal a safe but abandoned it in the car park.

:03:14. > :03:15.But they did get away with hundreds of pounds worth of

:03:16. > :03:18.Parishioners have rallied round to fix the damage.

:03:19. > :03:22.The historic church of St Martin's at the foot of Caerphilly Mountain

:03:23. > :03:24.looks out over the community it serves.

:03:25. > :03:28.But at some time - on that holiest of days -

:03:29. > :03:30.thieves broke in, no-doubt hoping for rich pickings

:03:31. > :03:41.We assumed they were after ready money, which they did not get,

:03:42. > :03:43.however, two laptops were stolen. Police were called when this safe

:03:44. > :03:46.was discovered in the car park. It's believed the thieves gained

:03:47. > :03:49.access to part of the church where building work

:03:50. > :03:56.is currently being carried out. I was really sad to hear that news,

:03:57. > :04:01.I think that is really diabolical. At any time of the year especially,

:04:02. > :04:06.but at this time, terrible. I think it is absolutely shocking. I am sure

:04:07. > :04:08.that the church will rally around and people will come to the aid of

:04:09. > :04:11.the church, I would imagine. For Claire Rickard -

:04:12. > :04:13.christening her daughter Faith at St Martin's today -

:04:14. > :04:25.news of the break-in I think it is just awful. It is a

:04:26. > :04:28.place and a time of year when the church is just so important to

:04:29. > :04:32.people. For people to break into the church, it is just so upsetting and

:04:33. > :04:32.the really sad thing to happen to the community.

:04:33. > :04:34.Parishioners have rallied round to secure the building once

:04:35. > :04:37.more and Gwent Police is investigating.

:04:38. > :04:39.Rugby, and in another tense Pro12 Christmas derby,

:04:40. > :04:41.the Blues snatched the win from the Dragons at Rodney Parade.

:04:42. > :04:44.Rhys Patchell landed a last minute penalty to make

:04:45. > :04:47.The Dragons had been leading all the way but let

:04:48. > :04:51.their rivals back into the game with two late tries.

:04:52. > :04:53.Football, and Swansea City caretaker manager Alan Curtis

:04:54. > :04:56.praised his side's spirit after they beat West Bromwich Albion

:04:57. > :04:59.to climb out of the Premier League relegation zone.

:05:00. > :05:02.Ki Sung-yueng got the only goal of the game after goalkeeper

:05:03. > :05:04.Boaz Myhill failed to hold a loose ball.

:05:05. > :05:14.The win was the Swans' first since October.

:05:15. > :05:21.Psychologically anyway, we are now out of the bottom three. That is

:05:22. > :05:27.where we have not been for a long time. It is our first win in about

:05:28. > :05:32.13 or 14 games, so from a confidence point of view, it will give the

:05:33. > :05:36.player is a huge lift. But as I have said to them, we have to begin again

:05:37. > :05:38.on Monday. Not just Monday but we have to carry this on.

:05:39. > :05:44.Let's take a look at tonight's weather:

:05:45. > :05:46.There'll be some light rain this evening, although it should clear

:05:47. > :05:48.quickly to reveal a dry and fresher night.

:05:49. > :05:50.Temperatures falling to around 6 Celsius.

:05:51. > :05:51.Tomorrow will start dry and brighter,

:05:52. > :05:57.I'll be back with your next update at around 10:20pm.
