0:00:00 > 0:00:01back at 10.05 with the late news but now on BBC One,

0:00:14 > 0:00:15Good evening.

0:00:15 > 0:00:18Preparations are underway to help protect homes and motorists,

0:00:18 > 0:00:21as more bad weather is being forecast for the coming days,

0:00:21 > 0:00:23this time in South Wales.

0:00:23 > 0:00:26There was chaos in parts of North Wales over the weekend,

0:00:26 > 0:00:33with homes evacuated and the A55 dual carriageway shut for hours.

0:00:33 > 0:00:35The Welsh Government says flood management is a key priority

0:00:35 > 0:00:38and it's already invested significantly.

0:00:38 > 0:00:41Nick Palit reports.

0:00:41 > 0:00:44Sifting through the flood-damaged memories of a lifetime.

0:00:44 > 0:00:50This man is having to throw out many of his mother's treasured

0:00:50 > 0:00:52photographs after water ravaged these homes in this

0:00:52 > 0:00:56village near Bangor.

0:00:56 > 0:00:57Unfortunately, householders here know what to do

0:00:57 > 0:01:00in these circumstances.

0:01:00 > 0:01:03It is the second time this has happened in three years.

0:01:03 > 0:01:08We decided to lift the three-piece and the two chairs onto the table.

0:01:08 > 0:01:13And then within half an hour, the water was about 18 inches high

0:01:13 > 0:01:18throughout the house.

0:01:18 > 0:01:22Villagers say that they are nowhere a river but that they are

0:01:22 > 0:01:25the victims of flood water running off the nearby A55 dual carriageway.

0:01:25 > 0:01:28The local assembly member says that the last time this happened,

0:01:28 > 0:01:30the Welsh Government pledged to take action to ensure it

0:01:30 > 0:01:31would never happen again.

0:01:31 > 0:01:34There is a scheme, it is a 1.5 million scheme, but the Welsh

0:01:34 > 0:01:37Government has so far refused to supply the funds necessary

0:01:37 > 0:01:40to protect these homes and to protect the A55, of course,

0:01:40 > 0:01:42which is a vital artery not only to Northwest Wales

0:01:42 > 0:01:48but to Ireland as well.

0:01:48 > 0:01:51The Welsh Government say that they have committed almost ?300

0:01:51 > 0:01:53million to managing flood risk, which includes significant

0:01:53 > 0:01:54investment in North Wales.

0:01:54 > 0:01:56They say that they will work with local authorities to see

0:01:56 > 0:02:00what additional action can be taken to protect homes.

0:02:00 > 0:02:05With water and showery rain forecast, householders in southern

0:02:05 > 0:02:07parts of Wales are now on alert.

0:02:07 > 0:02:13We are predicting...

0:02:13 > 0:02:16We are getting forecasts of a lot of rain on Wednesday,

0:02:16 > 0:02:19so with the ground already quite wet because of the rain we have had,

0:02:19 > 0:02:21river levels could rise quite quickly, so we are monitoring

0:02:21 > 0:02:24the situation quite closely but as I said, it will be mostly

0:02:24 > 0:02:27South Wales that will get affected and not North Wales.

0:02:27 > 0:02:29Tonight, Natural Resources Wales have one flood warning for part

0:02:29 > 0:02:32of the lower Dee Valley and 13 flood alerts across North,

0:02:32 > 0:02:33South and West Wales.

0:02:33 > 0:02:35Revenge porn victims are often wrongly blamed for bringing

0:02:35 > 0:02:37the offences on themselves.

0:02:37 > 0:02:40That's according to the charity Revenge Porn Helpline,

0:02:40 > 0:02:44which claims some police forces don't take the crime seriously.

0:02:44 > 0:02:50It comes as figures show 56 reports have been made to police in Wales

0:02:50 > 0:02:52since specific legislation came in in April.

0:02:52 > 0:02:55All four Welsh forces said they took allegations seriously and had

0:02:55 > 0:02:59dedicated staff to tackle the crime.

0:02:59 > 0:03:02A terminally ill mother has made a plea to her son's killers

0:03:02 > 0:03:05to tell her where his remains are buried.

0:03:05 > 0:03:07Kyle Vaughan from Newbridge, near Caerphilly, vanished

0:03:07 > 0:03:08three years ago.

0:03:08 > 0:03:16Anna Bailey reports.

0:03:16 > 0:03:17Kyle Vaughan's family are spending their third

0:03:17 > 0:03:18Christmas without him.

0:03:18 > 0:03:20The 24-year-old disappeared in 2012.

0:03:20 > 0:03:25A police search quickly turned into a murder investigation.

0:03:25 > 0:03:27His body was never found and eight people arrested in connection

0:03:27 > 0:03:29with the enquiry were all released without charge.

0:03:29 > 0:03:32It is likely to be his mother Mary's last Christmas.

0:03:32 > 0:03:35Her liver cancer has progressed and doctors say that she could have

0:03:35 > 0:03:38weeks left to live.

0:03:38 > 0:03:42I know that somebody has done something to him.

0:03:42 > 0:03:45They know what has happened to him.

0:03:45 > 0:03:48And I would just like them to come forward and say.

0:03:48 > 0:03:52Put themselves in my shoes.

0:03:52 > 0:04:01What would they feel like if they were going to die

0:04:01 > 0:04:07and their son or daughter was dead and it did not know where they were.

0:04:07 > 0:04:10Kyle was last seen at around 11pm on the 30th of December,

0:04:10 > 0:04:11three years ago.

0:04:11 > 0:04:13His silver Peugeot was found crashed between Risca and Crosskeys

0:04:13 > 0:04:14on the A467.

0:04:14 > 0:04:17It is not known if he was driving at the time.

0:04:17 > 0:04:19Police believe several people know what happened to Kyle.

0:04:19 > 0:04:22I would appeal to those individuals that are currently spending time

0:04:22 > 0:04:27with families to stop, take a moment and put themselves

0:04:27 > 0:04:29in Mary's shoes.

0:04:29 > 0:04:35And to think about the next few months that this family are facing.

0:04:35 > 0:04:38Detectives have collected nearly 400 statements over the course

0:04:38 > 0:04:41of their investigation and are asking for any witnesses

0:04:41 > 0:04:44to call Crimestoppers.

0:04:44 > 0:04:46For Kyle's family, time is of the essence.

0:04:46 > 0:04:50Just come forward and say where Kyle's body is so that she can

0:04:50 > 0:04:52at least bury him before she goes.

0:04:52 > 0:04:55That is her biggest fear, that she's going to die before

0:04:55 > 0:05:02she finds out where Kyle is or what has happened to him.

0:05:02 > 0:05:03Anna Bailey reporting.
