:00:36. > :00:39.Work is starting on a billion pound combined food and power plant

:00:40. > :00:42.at the former Anglesey Aluminium site on Anglesey.

:00:43. > :00:45.It could create more than seventeen hundred jobs.

:00:46. > :00:48.And as our economics correspondent Sarah Dickins explains,

:00:49. > :00:54.the technology is being described as a world first.

:00:55. > :00:56.It dominated the area and the economy for decades.

:00:57. > :01:00.More than 1,000 people worked at Anglesey Aluminium at its peak.

:01:01. > :01:04.Derelict for three years, it's about to be transformed so this

:01:05. > :01:11.It's the result of an engineer and architect developing

:01:12. > :01:16.We need to put mechanisms in the world that are going to get

:01:17. > :01:19.us out of the quagmire we are in and this is the solution.

:01:20. > :01:22.Use the heat, use the power, combine it with the food,

:01:23. > :01:29.Waste wood would be burnt to generate electricity for homes.

:01:30. > :01:31.Rather than lose excess heat up the chimneys,

:01:32. > :01:35.Orthios would use it to warm water to farm prawns.

:01:36. > :01:38.Their waste in the water will act as a fertiliser for

:01:39. > :01:41.growing vegetables as will spare CO2.

:01:42. > :01:44.Steve Mallon worked for many years at Anglesey Aluminium.

:01:45. > :01:48.It was a hot, heavy and dirty industry.

:01:49. > :01:55.But now we are onto this completely new venture.

:01:56. > :01:58.The is mind boggling, some of what they are telling us.

:01:59. > :02:02.Plans offer 1200 construction workers to transform the site

:02:03. > :02:06.while 500 people will have permanent jobs producing power and food.

:02:07. > :02:09.Communities right across the island were shaken when

:02:10. > :02:15.But if these plans come to be there will be a new industry

:02:16. > :02:18.here, not just power but food as well and people from around

:02:19. > :02:21.the world will come here to understand

:02:22. > :02:25.But at a moment the challenge to develop the energy sector

:02:26. > :02:31.Energy Island may seem like a remote concept but for people living

:02:32. > :02:34.here it could be the difference between work and no work.

:02:35. > :02:38.Part-time employment and a long-term career.

:02:39. > :02:40.What's important about this development is it's the first

:02:41. > :02:44.significant renewal project that looks like it's going ahead.

:02:45. > :02:48.There's a drive to make sure as much work as possible goes to local

:02:49. > :02:53.We have to try and make sure that the right kind of training

:02:54. > :02:56.provision is available to young people in particular and equip them

:02:57. > :02:59.with the appropriate skills so that they do take advantage

:03:00. > :03:04.As the site takes on a new life many will be watching its progress.

:03:05. > :03:06.The family of Sian Davies from Tregaron who died

:03:07. > :03:09.while being the member of a cult in London,

:03:10. > :03:13.have said they'd like a new inquest into her death.

:03:56. > :03:58.than 20 years ago, hopes a second inquest will uncover

:03:59. > :04:02.Cheryl James was one of four soldiers found dead at the barracks

:04:03. > :04:06.between 1995 and 2002 amid claims of widespread abuse.

:04:07. > :04:11.The new inquest will start on Monday.

:04:35. > :04:38.The council say the Fire Service has raised concerns about overcrowding

:04:39. > :04:42.The Home Office says it takes every effort to inspect all asylum

:04:43. > :04:44.accommodation on a regular basis to ensure that it meets

:04:45. > :04:49.The company that runs Lynx House on behalf of the Home Office

:04:50. > :04:55.scrapped the red wristbands last week.

:04:56. > :04:58.More people are surviving strokes in Wales compared with a decade ago

:04:59. > :05:01.It found, around a thousand fewer people die every year,

:05:02. > :05:04.due to better services which prevent and treat strokes.

:05:05. > :05:06.But it highlights areas for improvement such as the support

:05:07. > :05:11.for patients after they've been discharged.

:05:12. > :05:14.It was the largest "crash for cash" insurance fraud case ever

:05:15. > :05:18.Today it ended with five people being sentenced to nearly four years

:05:19. > :05:21.in prison for their part in the scam, bringing the total

:05:22. > :05:23.number of people brought to justice to 81.

:05:24. > :05:26.The two men and three women from Newport, Cardiff

:05:27. > :05:29.and Caerphilly County Borough fraudulently claimed around

:05:30. > :05:37.The more police delved into this giant conspiracy,

:05:38. > :05:41.the wider the web of fraudsters became.

:05:42. > :05:45.And today the remaining five were brought to justice.

:05:46. > :05:47.One of them, Stephen Pegram, already serving a five year

:05:48. > :05:51.sentence in prison, claimed thousands.

:05:52. > :05:54.In total, 81 people from Caerphilly County Borough,

:05:55. > :05:58.Cardiff and Newport were convicted for defrauding insurance companies

:05:59. > :06:01.out of three quarters of a million pounds.

:06:02. > :06:04.At the start we had no idea this fraud was on going.

:06:05. > :06:09.We were looking for stolen vehicles and it turned into one

:06:10. > :06:12.of the biggest insurers frauds, if not the biggest, the UK police

:06:13. > :06:19.The police descended on the conspiracy's HQ,

:06:20. > :06:22.a small lock-up garage in Pengam near Blackwood.

:06:23. > :06:26.Only then did they discover the extent of the fraud.

:06:27. > :06:29.Cars were being deliberately damaged, like this one,

:06:30. > :06:34.And then the owners were coached into what to say to insurers

:06:35. > :06:41.Gwent Police are calling on insurers to do more to make sure the damage

:06:42. > :06:45.on one car matches the damage on another.

:06:46. > :06:51.This draws to an end one of the largest fraud trial

:06:52. > :06:55.Such was the scale of the investigation that Gwent Police

:06:56. > :06:58.has built up a body of expertise in this area.

:06:59. > :07:01.They now hope others will be deterred from

:07:02. > :07:11.Swansea City have completed the signing of Chievo striker
