:00:40. > :00:43.What we don't know tonight - is how much of your money has been

:01:34. > :01:36.Everybody feels a little bit unsafe, especially going into a big

:01:43. > :01:57.It was one of the sexiest sports cars to come out of Britain -
:01:58. > :01:59.now TVR has staked its future in Blaenau Gwent.
:02:00. > :02:02.It'll start making new cars next year on Ebbw Vale enterprise zone -
:02:03. > :02:05.creating 150 jobs - near the site of the planned Circuit
:02:06. > :02:13.The Welsh Government is giving the company its financial backing
:02:14. > :02:16.- but won't be drawn on how much taxpayers money TVR will get -
:02:17. > :02:30.It is a British icon seemed to be made in Wales. While TVR is keeping
:02:31. > :02:36.its new design under wraps, the models of the past certainly turned
:02:37. > :02:40.heads. They signed on the dotted line this morning. The calming
:02:41. > :02:46.effect says the Welsh government backing was a major reason for
:02:47. > :02:50.deciding on Wales. We could have chosen many places, but we would
:02:51. > :02:55.have been in danger of getting drowned out and in competition for
:02:56. > :03:00.skill sets. There is an opportunity here, particularly in Ebbw Vale, for
:03:01. > :03:05.us to carve out the new TVR. It was the rival to push but money problems
:03:06. > :03:08.brought production to an end almost a decade ago. The next generation
:03:09. > :03:15.will be made at the Ebbw Vale enterprise zone. It's no coincidence
:03:16. > :03:20.there a multi-million plans to turn this into a race circuit. TVR
:03:21. > :03:24.received financial support from the Welsh government though the First
:03:25. > :03:29.Minister was reluctant to say how much money they were getting. Is
:03:30. > :03:33.there an issue about transparency, learn what companies are getting?
:03:34. > :03:40.Which end in the past to publish details further down the line. The
:03:41. > :03:43.reality is, everybody put money on the table but money isn't
:03:44. > :03:47.everything, we know that at Aston Martin there was more money
:03:48. > :03:50.available elsewhere, it was the fact they saw there was a good investment
:03:51. > :03:56.team and the Welsh government, they can work with us and we had passion
:03:57. > :04:00.and professionalism. The deal comes weeks after Aston Martin was given
:04:01. > :04:03.Welsh government money to move production here. Again, the amount
:04:04. > :04:09.wasn't made public. Not all car company investments have gone plan.
:04:10. > :04:14.The move to make hybrid cars in south Wales came to nothing, leaving
:04:15. > :04:17.the Welsh government over ?1,000,000 out of pocket. These cars have
:04:18. > :04:20.inspired a fan base that have remained loyal, even though they
:04:21. > :04:29.have been out of production since 2006. The company plans to be making
:04:30. > :04:34.2000 of them by 2022. TVR's attempt at a comeback is being fostered by
:04:35. > :04:39.350 advance orders for the new model. Admirers of the brand have
:04:40. > :04:46.been putting down ?5,000 deposits. It is what TVR enthusiasts have been
:04:47. > :04:49.waiting for. Living in Wales, the fact it's being produced here is
:04:50. > :04:57.brilliant as well, a lot of people in the North may think something
:04:58. > :05:01.different, but in a industry coming to Wales is good. It will bring
:05:02. > :05:06.well-paid jobs to the poorest parts of Europe and will help build on
:05:07. > :05:12.Wales's reputation in the car industry. High-paid jobs for Ebbw
:05:13. > :05:18.Vale but with the chequered history of TVR, how long-term is this? I
:05:19. > :05:23.think the company certainly has had its problems in the past, and also
:05:24. > :05:28.it has been taken over by new management. They say they have
:05:29. > :05:32.already got a much brighter future. In the past, the company tried to do
:05:33. > :05:34.everything, including making the engines, and that's not something
:05:35. > :05:40.they are going to do in the short-term with this new TVR. They
:05:41. > :05:43.say they have rectified some of those essential problems but many
:05:44. > :05:47.observers would say that if you're going to have a luxury sports car
:05:48. > :05:51.brand, you really want a parent company with deep pockets,
:05:52. > :05:55.ultimately. The other thing is about the money from the Welsh government,
:05:56. > :05:59.there are many people who will say they shouldn't give grants which
:06:00. > :06:03.aren't paid back, they should give loans which are paid back. But 1 of
:06:04. > :06:07.the main issues is transparent to, whether it is grants or loans.
:06:08. > :06:13.People really need to know ultimately, what we are paying for
:06:14. > :06:17.these companies. TVR going to the same site as the proposed circuit of
:06:18. > :06:22.Wales racing track, is that an indication that the race track is
:06:23. > :06:25.likely to go ahead? The Welsh government and the Company says it
:06:26. > :06:30.is facilities like this 1 behind me that means they want to be here. But
:06:31. > :06:33.ultimately circuit of Wales is moving forward, does seem to be
:06:34. > :06:35.moving forward successfully and we could have an announcement soon on
:06:36. > :06:38.its go-ahead. Police forces across Wales have
:06:39. > :06:40.stepped up their presence at key locations following the terror
:06:41. > :06:44.attacks in Brussels. The move is to protect the public
:06:45. > :06:47.and provide reassurance but is not Caroline Evans has been speaking
:06:48. > :06:51.to people from Wales who live and work in Brussels and were caught
:06:52. > :07:08.up in attacks. Running, terrified. Behind them,
:07:09. > :07:21.devastation. They are on business for the Wales audit office. It was 8
:07:22. > :07:28.a.m. Local time, and I heard a couple of bumps, I thought it was
:07:29. > :07:34.people moving furniture in the room above me, I looked and all I could
:07:35. > :07:39.see was people fleeing from the terminal building. I counted 25
:07:40. > :07:47.strategic casualties, they were being wheeled on luggage trolleys to
:07:48. > :07:51.waiting abilities. I saw the army, who had been patrolling the streets
:07:52. > :07:57.of Brussels regularly, they were clearly active, they were using the
:07:58. > :08:05.Hotel is in an evacuation point to treat casualties and also, I saw at
:08:06. > :08:10.least 1 bomb dog in the hotel and was advised they were sweeping the
:08:11. > :08:14.hotel for bombs as well. For much of the day the European Parliament has
:08:15. > :08:18.remained locked down. People have been asked not to come into the
:08:19. > :08:22.Parliament, not to leave the Parliament, meetings have been
:08:23. > :08:26.cancelled, we know most of the city is unlocked down as well, with all
:08:27. > :08:32.the public transport being cancelled, many roads being closed.
:08:33. > :08:35.We're hoping that situation will change later but at the moment, the
:08:36. > :08:40.department is largely in lockdown as is the rest of Brussels. 1 man
:08:41. > :08:45.working for the Welsh government told us he witnessed the horror
:08:46. > :08:52.around the Metro. In walking to work, I passed the next station, and
:08:53. > :08:58.then I saw some of the injured coming out of the station, I saw
:08:59. > :09:10.around 30 people lying on the pavement. The ambulance services had
:09:11. > :09:13.already arrived, they have blankets. The night as flags outside the SMB
:09:14. > :09:19.at half-mast, the police here have said they are increasing presence at
:09:20. > :09:28.key locations around Wales to provide reassurance.
:09:29. > :09:31.Footballer Ched Evans is appealing against his conviction for rape.
:09:32. > :09:33.His case was referred after his lawyers lodged fresh evidence.

:09:36. > :09:38.in 2012 after being found guilty of raping a 19 year old woman
:09:39. > :09:41.at a hotel near Rhyl - he was released two years ago
:09:42. > :09:46.The A55 - the main trunk road through North Wales -
:09:47. > :09:49.has been closed through most of the day near Colwyn Bay
:09:50. > :09:52.Fire crews using specialist equipment have been
:09:53. > :09:55.The closure has meant long tailbacks and delays for motorists.
:09:56. > :10:10.Chemical suits and breathing apparatus, an indication of the
:10:11. > :10:13.seriousness of this spill. The was closed this morning, the lorry
:10:14. > :10:18.driver noticed he had a leak, he was carrying a highly corrosive
:10:19. > :10:22.chemical. The result of the road closure, traffic jams in every
:10:23. > :10:27.direction. Here you have a sense of the problems being caused by this
:10:28. > :10:32.road closure, traffic being siphoned off the A55, in this direction you
:10:33. > :10:37.can see the flip road onto the A55, which is closed and these are cars
:10:38. > :10:44.which are following the diversion along the promenade. For drivers it
:10:45. > :10:50.all meant long waits in the queues. We set off at half 1 from Llandudno.
:10:51. > :11:00.How long have you been in the traffic? 2 1/2 hours. Did you have
:11:01. > :11:05.any warning? No. Back at the A55, fire crews worked throughout the day
:11:06. > :11:09.to decant the remains of the chemicals into another vehicle, but
:11:10. > :11:13.late this afternoon, there was a fresh concern, a small quantity had
:11:14. > :11:15.got into the drains. It would have to be flushed out before it could
:11:16. > :11:17.cause serious damage. New figures show another
:11:18. > :11:20.deterioration in the waiting times of Emergency Departments
:11:21. > :11:22.in the Welsh NHS this winter. Last month, more than three
:11:23. > :11:25.and a half thousand people spent more than 12 hours waiting -
:11:26. > :11:27.over three hundred more The Welsh Government says A
:11:28. > :11:38.departments have been Let's talk to our health
:11:39. > :11:51.correspondent Owain Clarke. The targets are clear, 95% of people
:11:52. > :11:56.who turn up at a moved to the wards within four hours and nobody should
:11:57. > :12:00.wait more than 12 hours it in February, almost 18,000 people
:12:01. > :12:08.waited more than four hours, that's 23% of the total number of cases.
:12:09. > :12:16.And 3264 cases waited over 12 hours. That figure is double the figure for
:12:17. > :12:19.December. Now things are considerably worse compare to the
:12:20. > :12:28.same time last year. The Department obviously struggling. What is going
:12:29. > :12:34.on? More people are turning up at A, more elderly people who need
:12:35. > :12:38.more care and spend longer in hospital. The Welsh government say
:12:39. > :12:48.flu has been a problem, norovirus, although officially the incidents of
:12:49. > :12:51.flu in February was low. In January respect to a senior consultant to
:12:52. > :12:55.set departments across Wales were on the edge, we talk caught up with him
:12:56. > :12:58.today. More and more people have been
:12:59. > :13:01.leaving the department to look for jobs in other places,
:13:02. > :13:10.and we're not able to recruit as quickly as these
:13:11. > :13:12.people have been putting in their
:13:13. > :13:13.resignations. But our biggest problem,
:13:14. > :13:17.which is keeping us awake at night, the fact that patients
:13:18. > :13:19.aren't moving out of the department in the fashion
:13:20. > :13:27.we would like them to. That is the point. If people get
:13:28. > :13:32.stuck in hospital, wards get full and A get logjams, it is a problem
:13:33. > :13:38.that has been talked about the years but will be talked about with added
:13:39. > :13:42.vigour in the weeks to come. But Identix pecked a big improvement in
:13:43. > :13:48.March because staff told me it is good worse. -- I don't expect.
:13:49. > :13:56.Thousands of children to a free computer to help develop their
:13:57. > :13:57.programming skills. And the Wales squad prepare for their final home
:13:58. > :14:06.game before the start of Euro 2016. The Education Minister Huw Lewis
:14:07. > :14:08.says sweeping reforms to the way Wales' new teachers are trained
:14:09. > :14:13.will lead to the "toughest" It comes following a report last
:14:14. > :14:18.year which said there's But will it lead to higher
:14:19. > :14:22.standards in the classroom? Here's our Education
:14:23. > :14:34.Correspondent Bethan Lewis. Training the teachers of the future.
:14:35. > :14:39.This classroom in the University of South Wales lets student teachers
:14:40. > :14:45.get a feel for the real thing. Amy Griffiths is a member of generation
:14:46. > :14:54.2016 panel of young people looking at election issues. She is trained
:14:55. > :15:01.to be a primary school teacher. The amount of work that goes into the
:15:02. > :15:04.job, outside of school, the planning, the resource that goes
:15:05. > :15:08.into the everyday job is so much more. You are responsible for 30
:15:09. > :15:12.children a day, I don't think people realise how hard that is, but it's
:15:13. > :15:18.so rewarding as well, it should be recognised, same as a doctor. And
:15:19. > :15:22.raising the status of the profession is 1 of the aims of the reforms
:15:23. > :15:27.outlined by the education minister. In his last big speech before he
:15:28. > :15:31.steps down at the election. But the flip side is much higher
:15:32. > :15:36.expectations of teachers, and more rigourous training. He wants longer
:15:37. > :15:42.teaching courses and universities who want to teach the teachers will
:15:43. > :15:46.also have 2 up their game, he says. We are taking a step upwards in
:15:47. > :15:53.terms of the type of collocations, we're talking about an expectation
:15:54. > :15:57.of a Masters level qualification for every teacher, as part of the
:15:58. > :16:02.teacher training. In short, the most rigourous teacher training anywhere
:16:03. > :16:05.in Britain but also the best. The reforms follow a critical report a
:16:06. > :16:09.year ago by Professor John Furlong, which said that the standards of
:16:10. > :16:15.teacher training in Wales had deteriorated over the previous
:16:16. > :16:19.decade. 1 of the challenges is that universities expect to try and
:16:20. > :16:25.collaborate with 300 different schools. And when you do that, the
:16:26. > :16:31.idea of trying to achieve quality training is an immense challenge. So
:16:32. > :16:38.it should be a smaller number of high quality schools to take the
:16:39. > :16:43.lead role Labour role. There are development in technology, and plans
:16:44. > :16:47.for a new curriculum in Welsh schools in the year ahead. So
:16:48. > :16:52.reforming the training system is all about making sure that teachers have
:16:53. > :16:55.the tools for the job. There will be a new education minister after the
:16:56. > :17:00.election who may have different ideas about the best way forward.
:17:01. > :17:03.While most agree there is a need for change, there are plenty of
:17:04. > :17:05.questions about the training as well, and whether it will lead to
:17:06. > :17:09.higher standards in schools. A Welsh MP has told the House

:17:24. > :17:27.debate, Carolyn Harris said more than ?90 million was spent

:17:34. > :17:40.consequences for her and her family. This could quite easily
:17:41. > :17:45.happen to anyone of us. Many homes throughout the UK
:17:46. > :17:47.will have electrical products in use Thousands of children across Wales
:17:48. > :18:00.will get a free pocket sized computer to help
:18:01. > :18:01.develop their IT skills. The micro:bit is the result
:18:02. > :18:04.of a project led by the BBC to introduce young people to coding

:19:07. > :19:08.they are learning anything, Which I think it's
:19:09. > :19:15.a really smart idea. It is hoped coding will become
:19:16. > :19:18.as normal a part of school The idea is to kickstart
:19:19. > :19:21.another generation of young coders, children have not done
:19:22. > :19:25.so much computer programming in recent years so the hope
:19:26. > :19:28.is that this will kickstart children problem-solving for real
