0:00:11 > 0:00:12competition from across the UK.

0:00:12 > 0:00:17The sports car company TVR is to base its new factory

0:00:17 > 0:00:21here creating 150 jobs and the A55 - the main artery into North Wales -

0:00:21 > 0:00:22is closed tonight.

0:00:22 > 0:00:24Emergency teams try to contain a corrosive chemical spillage

0:00:24 > 0:00:34from a tanker.

0:00:42 > 0:00:47Good evening.

0:00:47 > 0:00:50The luxury sports car company TVR has confirmed it'll start making

0:00:50 > 0:00:52new cars next year on Ebbw Vale enterprise zone -

0:00:52 > 0:00:55creating 150 jobs - near the site of the planned Circuit

0:00:55 > 0:00:56of Wales race track.

0:00:56 > 0:01:01The Welsh Government is giving the company its financial backing

0:01:01 > 0:01:04but won't be drawn on how much taxpayers money TVR will get

0:01:04 > 0:01:06or if they'll have to pay it back.

0:01:06 > 0:01:08Our business correspondent, Brian Meechan, reports.

0:01:08 > 0:01:12It is a British icon soon to be made in Wales.

0:01:12 > 0:01:15While TVR is keeping its new design under wraps, the models of the past

0:01:15 > 0:01:18certainly turned heads, even if they were out of the price

0:01:18 > 0:01:24range for most of us.

0:01:24 > 0:01:27TVR and the First minister signed on the dotted line this morning.

0:01:27 > 0:01:29They said the Welsh government

0:01:29 > 0:01:31backing was a major reason for deciding on Wales.

0:01:31 > 0:01:33We could have chosen many places, but we would

0:01:33 > 0:01:36have been in danger of getting drowned out and in competition

0:01:36 > 0:01:38for skill sets.

0:01:38 > 0:01:40There is an opportunity here, particularly in Ebbw Vale,

0:01:40 > 0:01:46for us to carve out the new TVR.

0:01:46 > 0:01:49TVR was the rival to Porsche but money problems

0:01:49 > 0:01:53brought production to an end almost a decade ago.

0:01:53 > 0:01:56The next generation will be made at the Ebbw Vale

0:01:56 > 0:02:01enterprise zone.

0:02:01 > 0:02:03It's no coincidence there are multi-million plans to turn

0:02:03 > 0:02:06this land into a race track, the Circuit of Wales.

0:02:06 > 0:02:07TVR received financial support from the

0:02:07 > 0:02:09Welsh government though the First Minister was reluctant

0:02:09 > 0:02:12to say how much taxpayers' money they were getting.

0:02:12 > 0:02:19We tend in the past to publish details further down the line.

0:02:19 > 0:02:22The reality is, everybody put money on the table but money isn't

0:02:22 > 0:02:23everything.

0:02:23 > 0:02:26The deal comes weeks after Aston Martin was given

0:02:26 > 0:02:28Welsh government money to move production here.

0:02:28 > 0:02:31Again, the amount wasn't made public.

0:02:31 > 0:02:35Not all car company investments have gone plan.

0:02:35 > 0:02:38The move to make hybrid cars in south Wales came to nothing,

0:02:38 > 0:02:40leaving the Welsh government over ?1,000,000

0:02:40 > 0:02:42out of pocket.

0:02:42 > 0:02:45These cars have inspired a fan base that have

0:02:45 > 0:02:47remained loyal, even though they have been out of

0:02:47 > 0:02:51production since 2006.

0:02:51 > 0:03:01The company plans to be making 2000 of them by 2022.

0:03:04 > 0:03:06TVR's attempt at a comeback is being bolstered by

0:03:06 > 0:03:08350 advance orders for its new model.

0:03:08 > 0:03:10Admirers of the brand have been putting down ?5,000 deposits.

0:03:10 > 0:03:11It's brilliant.

0:03:11 > 0:03:14It is what TVR enthusiasts have been waiting for.

0:03:14 > 0:03:16Living in Wales, the fact it's being produced here is brilliant

0:03:16 > 0:03:17as well.

0:03:17 > 0:03:20TVR's Ebbw Vale revival will bring well-paid jobs to one of the poorest

0:03:20 > 0:03:22parts of Europe and will help build

0:03:22 > 0:03:26on Wales's reputation in the car

0:03:26 > 0:03:35industry and many hope, attract more companies here.

0:03:36 > 0:03:39Part of the A55 near Colwyn Bay remains closed

0:03:39 > 0:03:40in both directions tonight.

0:03:40 > 0:03:43The trunk road which runs along the North Wales coast -

0:03:43 > 0:03:46was closed this morning after 27,000 litres of a chemical liquid spilled

0:03:46 > 0:03:47onto the carriageway.

0:03:47 > 0:03:48A specialist chemical recovery company is assisting

0:03:48 > 0:03:49with the clear up.

0:03:49 > 0:03:50Roger Pinney reports.

0:03:50 > 0:03:52Chemical suits and breathing apparatus, an indication

0:03:52 > 0:03:56of the seriousness of this spill.

0:03:56 > 0:03:59The A55 was closed this morning, the lorry

0:03:59 > 0:04:04driver noticed he had a leak, he was carrying a highly corrosive

0:04:04 > 0:04:08chemical used to edge circuit boards.

0:04:08 > 0:04:11The result of the road closure, traffic jams in every

0:04:11 > 0:04:12direction.

0:04:12 > 0:04:15Here you have a sense of the problems being caused by this

0:04:15 > 0:04:19road closure, traffic being siphoned off the A55,

0:04:19 > 0:04:21in this direction you can see the slip road onto the A55,

0:04:21 > 0:04:25which is closed and these are cars which are following the diversion

0:04:25 > 0:04:30along the promenade.

0:04:30 > 0:04:34For drivers it all meant long waits in the queues.

0:04:34 > 0:04:40We set off at halfpast 1 from Llandudno.

0:04:40 > 0:04:41It's now halfpast four.

0:04:41 > 0:04:43How long have you been in the traffic?

0:04:43 > 0:04:442 1/2 hours.

0:04:44 > 0:04:45Did you have any warning?

0:04:45 > 0:04:47No.

0:04:47 > 0:04:50Got to go, sorry.

0:04:50 > 0:04:52Back at the A55, fire crews worked throughout the day

0:04:52 > 0:04:56to decant the remains of the chemicals into another

0:04:56 > 0:04:59vehicle, but late this afternoon, there was a fresh concern,

0:04:59 > 0:05:04that a small quantity had got into the drains.

0:05:04 > 0:05:06It would have to be flushed out before it

0:05:06 > 0:05:10could cause serious damage.

0:05:10 > 0:05:15There's been another deterioration in the waiting times performance

0:05:15 > 0:05:17of Emergency Departments in the Welsh NHS this winter.

0:05:17 > 0:05:21In February over 3,500 people spent more than 12 hours in Urgent care

0:05:21 > 0:05:24units - over 300 more than in January.

0:05:24 > 0:05:26The Welsh Government says A departments have been

0:05:26 > 0:05:33busier than ever.

0:05:33 > 0:05:36A number of Wales' national museums will be closed or face disruption

0:05:36 > 0:05:38over the Easter Bank Holiday, because of industrial

0:05:38 > 0:05:40action by staff.

0:05:40 > 0:05:41Members of the Public and Commercial Services union have

0:05:41 > 0:05:43decided to strike - in a long-running dispute

0:05:43 > 0:05:50over weekend pay.

0:05:50 > 0:05:53Wales football manager - Chris Coleman - says he has every

0:05:53 > 0:05:54confidence security measures will be heightened

0:05:54 > 0:05:56at the European Championships in France this summer

0:05:56 > 0:05:58following the attacks in Brussels this morning.

0:05:58 > 0:06:01Wales are preparing for Euro 2016 - with two friendlies

0:06:01 > 0:06:04against Northern Ireland and Ukraine.

0:06:04 > 0:06:08Tomos Dafydd reports.

0:06:08 > 0:06:13At training this morning, the First Minister.

0:06:13 > 0:06:15Carwyn Jones wished coaches and players well ahead of this

0:06:15 > 0:06:17summer's great European Championships, but the explosions

0:06:17 > 0:06:21in Belgium cast a dark shadow over preparations.

0:06:21 > 0:06:28The events in Belgium have been at the forefront

0:06:28 > 0:06:29of players minds here.

0:06:29 > 0:06:31The attacks in Brussels will deepen concerns over

0:06:31 > 0:06:33security at Euro 2016 in France, just 2 months away.

0:06:33 > 0:06:36Everybody feels a bit unsafe especially going into a huge

0:06:36 > 0:06:39tournament, we're told it will be a target.

0:06:39 > 0:06:41We shouldn't give in to these people.

0:06:41 > 0:06:45We should never given to them.

0:06:45 > 0:06:47Chris Coleman is preparing for the friendlies without forward

0:06:47 > 0:06:49Hal Robson-Kanu who has a knee injury.

0:06:49 > 0:06:54That could pave the way for

0:06:54 > 0:07:04Sam Vokes who could continue his recent club form,

0:07:05 > 0:07:07he has scored 10 in his last 14 for Burnley.
