0:01:05 > 0:01:07The Welsh Government said it was already considering something

0:01:07 > 0:01:08similar for the public sector here.

0:01:08 > 0:01:11There is a great emphasis on purchasing locally,

0:01:11 > 0:01:13at the moment.

0:01:13 > 0:01:16The question now is, what we will do in addition to that?

0:01:16 > 0:01:19It's probably a good idea to come together and see what extra measures

0:01:21 > 0:01:24The First Minster, Carwyn Jones, said today that no one has done more

0:01:24 > 0:01:28to defend the steel industry than his Welsh government.

0:01:28 > 0:01:31Now he says it's time for bold action from the UK Government,

0:01:31 > 0:01:35similar to the bailout of the banks after the financial crisis.

0:01:35 > 0:01:39But Plaid Cymru accuses Mr Jones's government of lacking ambition.

0:01:39 > 0:01:42They've called for taxpayers' money to be invested in the industry.

0:01:42 > 0:01:45The Lib Dems say Welsh ministers have been slow to respond

0:01:45 > 0:01:49to the industry's needs, while the Welsh Tories say parties

0:01:49 > 0:01:52should work together to help find a buyer.

0:01:52 > 0:01:57The Government were caught unawares by the fact that Tata were actually

0:01:57 > 0:02:00thinking of closing the plant, and the final decision is at the end

0:02:00 > 0:02:02of this month, at the end of April,

0:02:02 > 0:02:05within weeks.

0:02:05 > 0:02:07That came as a real shock to the Government,

0:02:07 > 0:02:12and now, of course, the clock is ticking very fast.

0:02:12 > 0:02:16Ukip says helping the industry would be easier outside the EU,

0:02:16 > 0:02:18a claim that is dismissed by their opponents in

0:02:18 > 0:02:21the EU referendum campaign.

0:02:21 > 0:02:25Assembly Members did not expect to see this Chamber

0:02:25 > 0:02:28until after May's elections, but they have been recalled

0:02:28 > 0:02:30to discuss the steel crisis tomorrow.

0:02:30 > 0:02:33There's not much Assembly Members can do about the big challenges that

0:02:33 > 0:02:37are costing Tata millions of pounds, like high energy costs

0:02:37 > 0:02:40and competition from China.

0:02:40 > 0:02:45But with thousands of Welsh steel workers facing an uncertain future,

0:02:45 > 0:02:47the politicians know they have to show they are reacting

0:02:47 > 0:02:49to this crisis.

0:02:57 > 0:02:59crewman reported missing at Milford Haven docks

0:02:59 > 0:03:01in Pembrokeshire.

0:03:01 > 0:03:03Josh Winsper, who's from Cornwall, was onboard a ship visiting

0:03:03 > 0:03:07the area when he was reported missing yesterday.

0:03:07 > 0:03:11Police divers and the coastguard have been involved in the search.

0:03:11 > 0:03:14Four people have been hurt, one of them seriously,

0:03:14 > 0:03:16in a gas explosion at a house in Newport, which police

0:03:16 > 0:03:19are treating as suspicious.

0:03:19 > 0:03:22Around 30 fire-fighters attended the blast on George Street just

0:03:22 > 0:03:27before 7.30pm yesterday, which badly damaged the terraced

0:03:27 > 0:03:29house, and also some neighbouring homes.

0:03:29 > 0:03:31People living in surrounding properties were evacuated but have

0:03:31 > 0:03:34been allowed back into their homes.

0:03:34 > 0:03:39An investigation into the cause of the explosion is ongoing.

0:03:42 > 0:03:48property on the street, the front completely destroyed

0:03:48 > 0:03:51and debris across both lanes of the road.

0:03:51 > 0:03:54Original reports were that there were five people inside,

0:03:54 > 0:03:57that transpired to be 11, which obviously caused some concern

0:03:57 > 0:04:01with the state of the building.

0:04:01 > 0:04:03Three went to hospital with minor injuries,

0:04:03 > 0:04:07and one person went with life-threatening injuries.
