:00:45. > :00:46.has increased in recent years, doctors have described

:00:47. > :00:50.All parties are promising to further increase funding for mental health

:01:03. > :01:05.It is difficult to see now from the outside but Julie has

:01:06. > :01:09.tried to cope with depression for decades.

:01:10. > :01:16.It wasn't the fact that I wanted to die,

:01:17. > :01:17.I just didn't want to be inside

:01:18. > :01:21.Because I just couldn't cope with what was going on

:01:22. > :01:24.Julie's most dangerous experience was triggered by a

:01:25. > :01:29.It took months for her to see a specialist.

:01:30. > :01:35.In total she spent years on waiting lists.

:01:36. > :01:37.The waiting time to see somebody really didn't help what I was going

:01:38. > :01:49.Many people across Wales are treated for mental health issues

:01:50. > :01:55.within weeks but unlike other illnesses, waiting times for these

:01:56. > :02:02.At the moment in the Aneurin Bevan health board area, for some

:02:03. > :02:04.patients, some therapies have a

:02:05. > :02:11.four-year wait because of long-term staff illness.

:02:12. > :02:13.In the Betsi Cadwaladr and Hywel Dda areas, some are

:02:14. > :02:16.being asked to wait up to two years while in Cwm Taf and Cardiff

:02:17. > :02:19.and Vale, most received treatment within weeks and some patients are

:02:20. > :02:23.Abertawe Bro Morgannwg Health Board area didn't provided us with any

:02:24. > :02:27.Doctors have said time and time again that antidepressants or

:02:28. > :02:28.other medication are sometimes the only options

:02:29. > :02:35.There have been new resources this year and we need to see that

:02:36. > :02:38.continue to be pushed across Wales to get better services.

:02:39. > :02:48.It is not right for the patients of Wales and we need to see

:02:49. > :02:51.more investment and a true commitment to solving this once and

:02:52. > :02:53.A food cooperative run by volunteers.

:02:54. > :02:56.For many, a new step towards going back to full-time

:02:57. > :02:58.The mental health charity that organises

:02:59. > :03:00.this service says NHS services are improving

:03:01. > :03:04.has be done to monitor very long waits for a very specialist help.

:03:05. > :03:06.It is really frustrating when money is

:03:07. > :03:09.going into the service and we can't see the impact it's having.

:03:10. > :03:11.We need to make sure that data collection is

:03:12. > :03:16.transparent, it is accessible and it is consistent so we can

:03:17. > :03:18.make sure any investment that is going in is

:03:19. > :03:21.So what are the politicians promising

:03:22. > :03:28.The Welsh Liberal Democrats told me they would give

:03:29. > :03:31.the same access to diagnosis and treatment of mental health patients

:03:32. > :03:32.as patients with physical health problems.

:03:33. > :03:34.Both the UK Independence Party and the Welsh Conservatives

:03:35. > :03:37.are promising to spend more money on mental health services each year,

:03:38. > :03:40.and introduce a 28 day referral to treatment time target.

:03:41. > :03:44.Plaid Cymru said the service is underfunded as

:03:45. > :03:46.it is at the moment and are pledging to spend

:03:47. > :03:48.?68 million more by the

:03:49. > :03:54.The Welsh Labour Party who have been in charge of the service up until

:03:55. > :03:56.recently say they have already made significant progress in mental

:03:57. > :03:59.health services in Wales over the past few years and pledged

:04:00. > :04:01.to spend more money on it again in future and

:04:02. > :04:04.they have already introduced an 80% target time for people to get some

:04:05. > :04:09.kind of intervention with mental health problem.

:04:10. > :04:11.Julie eventually got really good support from an NHS

:04:12. > :04:15.psychiatrist but she and others feel there is a steep hill to climb

:04:16. > :04:26.before mental health is on an even footing with other health services.

:04:27. > :04:29.The Football Association of Wales has launched an investigation

:04:30. > :04:31.after suspicious betting patterns were discovered on a Welsh

:04:32. > :04:37.It follows a game on Saturday when Rhyl - who had not

:04:38. > :04:40.won in 17 matches - beat Port Talbot 5-0 at home.

:04:41. > :04:42.Port Talbot are making no comment but have confirmed

:04:43. > :04:46.All players in the Welsh Premier League must sign

:04:47. > :04:49.an agreement before each season, which includes a pledge not to bet

:04:50. > :04:56.on games and competitions in which they appear.

:04:57. > :05:00.Police investigating the murder of a 51-year-old woman whose body

:05:01. > :05:03.was found at a house in Powys have named her as Tracy Cockrell.

:05:04. > :05:05.Dyfed Powys Police went to an isolated property

:05:06. > :05:09.near Machynlleth on Sunday after reports of her sudden death.

:05:10. > :05:12.Officers also found man's body during a search of the grounds

:05:13. > :05:17.and he has been identified as Nigel McGrath, aged 45.

:05:18. > :05:19.His death is not being treated as suspicious and no-one else

:05:20. > :05:22.is being sought in connection with the incident.

:05:30. > :05:32.by proposals to scrap extra pay on weekends and bank holidays

:05:33. > :05:34.after negotiations with the PCS Union broke down.

:05:35. > :05:43.Our arts and media correspondent Huw Thomas has the story.

:05:44. > :05:48.There's a new face on the walls at National Museum Wales -

:05:49. > :05:51.a portrait by Rembrandt that's worth ?35 million and here on loan,

:05:52. > :05:56.But it's the millions that the museum has

:05:57. > :06:02.to save that's worrying the boss while the staff are on strike.

:06:03. > :06:05.Some of the museum's lowest paid staff are opposed to plans

:06:06. > :06:09.to stop paying them extra for working weekends.

:06:10. > :06:11.For two years the dispute has affected the museum's seven

:06:12. > :06:13.sites across Wales - but now there's a warning

:06:14. > :06:21.about the financial strain it's causing.

:06:22. > :06:28.We have got staff asking if they can sign up to the offer we are making

:06:29. > :06:32.and in the broader context of the museum finances, every month that

:06:33. > :06:37.goes by without resolution costs as a further ?70,000 from our reserves

:06:38. > :06:42.so we cannot afford to keep the dispute running and we have to bring

:06:43. > :06:44.it to a conclusion because otherwise it puts the museum 's finances at

:06:45. > :06:47.it puts the museum 's finances at strategic risk.

:06:48. > :06:50.To try and resolve the dispute the Museum has offered staff

:06:51. > :06:52.an average of ?4,000 as a lump sum, equivalent to two years

:06:53. > :06:58.Around 300 members of staff currently get extra money

:06:59. > :07:00.for working weekends, and the museum has now begun

:07:01. > :07:01.individual consultations with each of them.

:07:02. > :07:04.If staff don't accept the offer, the museum says it could dismiss

:07:05. > :07:14.them and offer to re-employ them under the new terms.

:07:15. > :07:22.longest-running industrial disputes. Both sides say they have made

:07:23. > :07:23.concessions but it is clear something will have to change in

:07:24. > :07:27.something will have to change in order for the strikes to stop.

:07:28. > :07:30.Negotiations with the unions broke down at Christmas and only

:07:31. > :07:32.an improved offer will bring the workers back to the table.

:07:33. > :07:43.What we would like to see is for the museum to enter back into

:07:44. > :07:48.discussions with us, to be more open and transparent with us. In order to

:07:49. > :07:49.resolve this dispute, we need to see an improvement to the offer.

:07:50. > :07:53.The museum says the financial picture is clear but the union hopes

:07:54. > :07:56.there'll be further talks before the dispute can be brought

:07:57. > :07:59.A leading economist has warned that uncertainty over the future of Tata

:08:00. > :08:02.means parts of the car industry will be looking at options

:08:03. > :08:04.abroad for their supply of high quality steel.

:08:05. > :08:06.Professor David Bailey says he hoped companies would continue

:08:07. > :08:08.to support UK steel, but warned that if Tata begins

:08:09. > :08:17.to lose sales it will make it less attractive to potential buyers.

:08:18. > :08:20.If users in terms of the car industry to walk away from using

:08:21. > :08:23.British steel, that will have an impact on demand from whatever

:08:24. > :08:25.We hope those assemblers and component

:08:26. > :08:32.suppliers will continue to use British steel in the short-term.

:08:33. > :08:35.The leader of the Welsh Liberal Democrats, Kirsty Williams,

:08:36. > :08:37.says she won't repeat the same "terrible" mistakes on tuition fees
