:00:10. > :00:14.Climate activists, camped alongside the UK's largest opencast coal mine

:00:15. > :00:17.in Merthyr Tydfil, are holding a day of preparations ahead

:00:18. > :00:21.of what they're calling "mass action" tomorrow.

:00:22. > :00:23.The 'Reclaim the Power' group say they'll attempt to halt operations

:00:24. > :00:26.at the Ffos y Fran mine, as our Environment Correspondent,

:00:27. > :00:33.At the End Coal Now camp, workshops are well under way

:00:34. > :00:35.for those taking part in tomorrow's demonstrations.

:00:36. > :00:38.They have occupied a blustery patch of open moorland

:00:39. > :00:41.in between the existing Ffos y Fran mine and the site of another

:00:42. > :00:47.proposed opencast operation in the Rhymney Valley.

:00:48. > :00:50.We have just signed the Paris agreement which commits us

:00:51. > :00:54.to keeping warming to 1.5 degrees which is totally incompatible

:00:55. > :01:00.So we're here to make a stand against that with the local

:01:01. > :01:04.Opencast mining has seen something of a resurgence in South

:01:05. > :01:08.There are five sites currently in operation supplying

:01:09. > :01:12.Aberthaw Power Station in the Vale of Glamorgan and the steelworks

:01:13. > :01:17.If we're not going to mine it locally in South Wales in the future

:01:18. > :01:20.it will have to come from elsewhere and one of the biggest producers

:01:21. > :01:25.If you say let's shut down everything in South Wales,

:01:26. > :01:33.You are asking for a larger carbon footprint.

:01:34. > :01:35.But this is about more than the local dispute.

:01:36. > :01:37.By tomorrow they reckon they will be around 400 activists

:01:38. > :01:40.from all across the UK from as far afield as France

:01:41. > :01:48.They are calling for a suspension of opencast mining across the UK,

:01:49. > :01:51.timing the protests so that it falls days before local and

:01:52. > :01:55.In Wales, Plaid Cymru, the Liberal Democrats

:01:56. > :01:57.and the Green Party says they will oppose any

:01:58. > :02:02.Labour, the Conservatives and Ukip say it should be down

:02:03. > :02:07.These protesters will tomorrow attempt to halt operations at Ffos y

:02:08. > :02:10.Fran to try and urge politicians to call time on coal.

:02:11. > :02:13.Those in charge of the mine say their concern will be the safety

:02:14. > :02:21.Police have named a man who died in a car crash near Mold yesterday,

:02:22. > :02:26.He came from the Nannerch area, not far from where

:02:27. > :02:35.The search for a fisherman who's been missing since his boat sank off

:02:36. > :02:38.the Pembrokeshire coast last Thursday has ended.

:02:39. > :02:40.Dan Willington from Carew hasn't been seen since the vessel hit rocks

:02:41. > :02:47.His father was rescued, but later died.

:02:48. > :02:49.With three days to go until the Assembly election,

:02:50. > :02:51.the parties are making their final push for votes.

:02:52. > :02:53.Labour is appealing for left-leaning supporters of other parties

:02:54. > :02:59.The Conservatives, Plaid Cymru and the Liberal Democrats have

:03:00. > :03:09.been attacking Labour's record in Government.

:03:10. > :03:15.He is the man Labour has put front and centre of its election campaign

:03:16. > :03:18.and with the opinion polls suggesting the party could concede

:03:19. > :03:23.political ground on Thursday Carwyn Jones today made this appeal. Over

:03:24. > :03:29.the next few days we will focus on getting out the vote and making sure

:03:30. > :03:32.those who promised to vote Labour vote Labour and secondly of course

:03:33. > :03:36.saying to people who live in constituencies where it is a

:03:37. > :03:40.straight fight between Labour and the Tories, lend us your vote. Don't

:03:41. > :03:46.wake up with a Tory AM representing you on Friday. The majority of tight

:03:47. > :03:51.contests will be between themselves and the Conservatives. The focus is

:03:52. > :03:56.what they say is Labour's mismanagement of the NHS. It can't

:03:57. > :03:59.be right that on polling day that people will reward labour for

:04:00. > :04:04.underinvestment in our health service and a doubling of NHS

:04:05. > :04:06.waiting times. What the Conservatives are promising our

:04:07. > :04:12.year-on-year investment, cutting waiting times and the creation of a

:04:13. > :04:15.cancer treatment plan for Wales. Plaid Cymru believes its campaign

:04:16. > :04:22.has moved up a gear in recent weeks. Opinion polls suggest the party is

:04:23. > :04:25.in second place behind Labour. We have had 17 years of Labour

:04:26. > :04:31.government and Wales is desperate for change. Plaid Cymru is a

:04:32. > :04:39.progressive party. People want change. Elections have not exactly

:04:40. > :04:44.been kind to the Liberal Democrats in recent years. In the shadow of

:04:45. > :04:48.one of the greatest leaders they know they are fighting for their

:04:49. > :04:53.very existence in Cardiff Bay. If the Welsh Liberal Democrats are not

:04:54. > :04:56.in the assembly they will be nobody there to talk about the issues that

:04:57. > :05:04.are sidelined or forgotten by the other parties. We have consistently

:05:05. > :05:08.highlighted the need to improvement of health services in Wales. Ukip

:05:09. > :05:13.poses the biggest threat to the Lib Dems with opinion polls suggesting

:05:14. > :05:18.they could win seats for the first time. With days to go until the

:05:19. > :05:22.voting starts all pie -- five parties have it all to play for.

:05:23. > :05:24.Football and The New Saints have completed a second successive treble

:05:25. > :05:26.after beating Airbus 2-0 at the Racecourse.

:05:27. > :05:28.Saints had already won the Welsh Premier League

:05:29. > :05:31.and the Word Cup for the third season in a row.

:05:32. > :05:32.It was Airbus' first time in the final.

:05:33. > :05:34.Let's get the bank holiday weather forecast.

:05:35. > :05:44.It has been a lovely afternoon and we can look forward to a chilly

:05:45. > :05:48.night and those temperatures will recover as we head into the end of

:05:49. > :05:54.the week. The odd isolated shower tonight but the bulk of the country

:05:55. > :05:56.will be tried with temperatures down to four Celsius. I pressure is in

:05:57. > :06:01.charge of our weather tomorrow and that will bring a settled way.

:06:02. > :06:06.Tomorrow morning, a chilly start with some sunshine. The odd isolated

:06:07. > :06:11.shower but most of us getting away with a dry day. It will be breezy

:06:12. > :06:16.with temperatures between 11 Celsius and 13 Celsius. Wednesday, high

:06:17. > :06:20.still in charge and we can look forward to more fine conditions.

:06:21. > :06:24.Temperatures getting up to 15 Celsius. More sunshine towards the

:06:25. > :06:25.end of the week. I'll be back with our

:06:26. > :06:34.late update at 10.45pm. the club since October. They have to

:06:35. > :06:36.win to avoid the drop. Bidding has not come easy
